  • openCV Won't copy to image after changed color ( opencv and c++ )

    I am a beginner at opencv. I have this task: Make a new image Put a certain image in it at 0,0 Convert the certain image to gray scale put the grayscaled image next to it ( at 300, 0 ) This is what I did. I have a class imagehandler that has constructor and all the functions. cv::Mat m_image is the member field. Constructor to make new image: imagehandler::imagehandler(int width, int height) : m_image(width, height, CV_8UC3){ } Constructor to read image from file: imagehandler::imagehandler(const std::string& fileName) : m_image(imread(fileName, CV_LOAD_IMAGE_COLOR)) { if(!m_image.data) { cout << "Failed loading " << fileName << endl; } } This is the function to convert to grayscale: void imagehandler::rgb_to_greyscale(){ cv::cvtColor(m_image, m_image, CV_RGB2GRAY); } This is the function to copy paste image: //paste image to dst image at xloc,yloc void imagehandler::copy_paste_image(imagehandler& dst, int xLoc, int yLoc){ cv::Rect roi(xLoc, yLoc, m_image.size().width, m_image.size().height); cv::Mat imageROI (dst.m_image, roi); m_image.copyTo(imageROI); } Now, in the main, this is what I did : imagehandler CSImg(600, 320); //declare the new image imagehandler myimg(filepath); myimg.copy_paste_image(CSImg, 0, 0); CSImg.displayImage(); //this one showed the full colour image correctly myimg.rgb_to_greyscale(); myimg.displayImage(); //this shows the colour image in GRAY scale, works correctly myimg.copy_paste_image(CSImg, 300, 0); CSImg.displayImage(); // this one shows only the full colour image at 0,0 and does NOT show the greyscaled one at ALL! What seems to be the problem? I've been scratching my head for hours on this one!!!

    So.. bear with me. I just found an analogy to c++ pointers and CDS. This clip describes CDS(Credit Default Swaps). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPNdYtrlgaU#t=120s "Here we know we have an instrument of a particular financial instrument that is demonstrably dangerous, it creates long chains of risk which are vulnerable to the failure of individual trader or market partipants, in that chain and these instruments in an affect permit the creation of vicious spirals. In which the CDS price interact with the bound price, the market price and you can have a downward spiral." What my ears are telling me: "Don't create dependences that will create long chains of crashing systems." Update: Trying to clarify with something that is closer to the readers. If I change the words: instrument = construct financial = language trader = object market partipants = c structs CDS price = uptime bound price = outcome market price = ROI(return on incestment) The quote become more understandable. In which the uptime interact with the outcome, the ROI and you can have a downward spiral."

It was a tremendous honor to be in single room of winners. We only wish we could have had more time to share stories from all the winners.  We received great insight from all the innovative solutions that our customers deploy and would like to share them broadly, so that others can benefit from best practices. There was a customer panel session joined by Ingersoll Rand, Nike and Motability and here is what was discussed: Barry Bonar, Enterprise Architect from Ingersoll Rand shared details around their solution, comprised of Oracle Exalogic, Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle SOA Suite. The prices are: £0.091 per GB transferred from North America & Europe locations £0.1213 per GB transferred from other locations £0.0061 per 10,000 transactions CDN rates are effective for all billing periods that begin subsequent to June 30, 2010. All usage for billing periods beginning prior to July 1, 2010 will not be charged. We have quarterly attestations and .xls mechanisms are not working. Once the identity data is correlated in Identity Analytics, do you then automate access certification? A. OIA’s identity warehouse analyzes and correlates identity data across various resources that allows OIA to determine a user’s risk profile, who the access review request should go to, along with all the relevant access details of the user. The access certification manager gets notification on what to review, when and the relevant data is presented in a business friendly screen. Based on the result of the access certification process, actions are triggered and results recorded and archived. Access review managers have visual risk indicators that also allow them to prioritize access certification tasks and efforts. Q. How does Oracle Identity Analytics work with Cloud Security? A. For enterprises looking to build their own cloud(s), Oracle offers a set of security services that cloud developers can leverage including Oracle Identity Analytics.  For enterprises looking to manage their compliance requirements but without hosting those in-house and instead having a hosting provider offer managed Identity Management services to the organizations, Oracle Identity Analytics can be leveraged much the same way as you’d in an on-premise (within the enterprise) environment. In fact, organizations today are leveraging Oracle Identity Analytics to manage identity compliance in both these ways. Q. Would you recommend this as a cost effective solution for a smaller organization with @ 2,500 users? A. The key return-on-investment (ROI) on Oracle Identity Analytics is derived from automating compliance processes thereby eliminating administrative overhead, minimizing errors, maintaining cost- and time-effective sustainable compliance processes and minimizing audit exposures and penalties.  Of course, there are other tangible benefits that are derived from an Oracle Identity Analytics implementation as outlined in the webcast.   • Q&amp;A: Does it make sense to run a personal blog on the Windows Azure Platform?

    I keep seeing people wanting to do this (or something very similar) and then being surprised at how much it might cost them if they went with Windows Azure. Time for a Q&A. Short answer: No, definitely not. Madness, sheer madness. (Hopefully that was clear enough) Longer answer: No because It would cost you a heck of a lot more than just about any other approach to running a blog. A site that can easily be run on a shared hosting solution (as many blogs do today) does not require the rich capabilities of Windows Azure. Capabilities such as simplified deployed and management, dedicated resources, elastic resources, “unlimited” storage etc. It is simply not the type of application the Windows Azure Platform has been designed for.
