• 3Proxy with Rotating IP's

  I want to configure a proxy which can rotate the IP's on session basis. Let me explain what I have done so far and what is exact requirement. I installed 3 proxy configured it to listen on 10 Public interfaces which is working fine. But my requirement is if any user access the internet, IP which will go out should be changed for every new session. Lets say my prxy IP's are from 10.20.30.5-14. When an user opens google.com it will hit google webserver with 10.20.30.5 IP and now if same user opens up yahoo.com then, it should it with 10.20.30.6 or any ip b/w 6 to 14. Is this possible?

• Rogue program disabled access to Firefox's "Get add-ons" and "Extensions". How can I get them back?

  After installing a program called "FreeFileViewer", the program disabled access to Firefox's "Get add-ons" and "Extensions" options. To make matters worse, it installed the Yahoo! toolbar that I now can't remove (because it disabled Firefox's options to do so). Please help. Any advice you can give me to restore these Firefox options would be greatly appreciated! BTW, I am running Firefox 15.0.1 on a Windows 7 machine. Thanks, in advance, for your help! -- Eric

• What could prevent one Amazon EC2 instance from pinging another instance's Private IP?

  I have multiple Amazon EC2 instances which need to communicate using private IPs. However, so far I've been unable to ping one instance's private IP from another instance. I can ping external addresses, such as their Elastic IPs and other sites (yahoo, google, etc), so it seems there's nothing wrong with the instances' network configuration. Also, they are all in the same zone, so that shouldn't be an issue. Does anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong? Could this related to the Security Group settings?

• How to crash a program

  I have a program called BlueCoat Proxy installed on my school issued laptop that basically blocks every second website on the Internet, including stack exchange, YouTube and yahoo answers. I do not have administrator rights, nor can I delete anything in program files, I tried every possible method of obtaining admin rights. It is not accessible in task manager (it doesn't even appear there). I tried to close it with Windows command prompt through commands like 'taskkill' but it returns 'Access is Denied' (I'm only denied access with that program). Does anyone know a method of crashing a program with a batch file or VB program? I was thinking something like the ping command, though for a program. Maybe automating 1000 meaningless requests to the program? Your input on the subject matter is appreciated, however telling me that this is wrong or illegal is not.

• Windows 7 - Non Admin run as Admin for Explorer - still can't see all tmp internet files

  I'm trying to retrieve video files from the IE 8 cache for a user that's not an admin in Win 7. As a non admin user, I run Explorer as admin and still can't see the temp internet files for the non admin user. Only if I login as a user that is admin can I see the files. Is there any way I can see the files w/o having to go through the login process? Essentially, I want the video file from this page and others like it: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/111585/1027823

• Why would image thumbnails not be showing in all search engines in all browsers?

  For over a week now, when I search for a word at Google, it correctly gives me some preview image thumbnails: But when I click on "images", it doesn't show me any thumbnails: The same thing happens at Bing.com, when I search Bing itself it gives me some thumbnails on the general search result page: But when I click on "images", it doesn't show me any thumbnails: The same thing happens at Yahoo: If I click on one of the broken thumbnails, it shows me the picture fine: Thumbnails at youtube also work fine: It seems each search engine is hanging on different URLs as shown above: t1.gstatic.com ts3.mm.bing.net thm-a02.yimg.com so it doesn't seem to be the problem of one specific URL not sending thumbnails, it is just a problem with search engine image thumbnails in general. Also, this happens in every browser I try: Explorer, Firefox, Chrome. What could be the problem? Is it my computer, some setting somewhere, my router, my Internet provider (T-Online, Germany)? Has anyone ever had this problem and solved it?

• Recommendation for email setup for programatically sending lots of emails

  To clarify I have an app that notifies users via email when certain actions take place (I am not spamming as the user has opted in to the notifications and can change that option at any time). Because of number of emails that needs to be sent, Gmail, Yahoo, etc will not work. Unless I am mistaken services like MailChimp, Lyris, etc will also not fit this need since every email is sent one at a time and is very specific to the user and action that took place. What I really want is something that would allow me to be able to call some mail function, give it a recipient, from, message and subject, and not have it be blocked by the email service. This can be a free or paid service. I have server access so I can install something if necessary as well but I don't know much about email services and fear if I do it myself, I'll get blocked by some other player like my VPS host or ISP or something.

  My Windows 7 laptop can connect to our Wi-Fi signal, I can sign in on Yahoo! Messenger, but I can't go to any site. I can access the Net on other devices. The issue started a few weeks ago, so I've been troubleshooting since then in vain. There's no virus, and I already used System Restore. In Wireless Network Connection Status, the received activity is greater than the sent activity. I turned off Windows Firewall and still no Net access. My ping tests: How do I fix this?

• Traceroutes to every site includes nameintelligence.com

  I used domaintools.com to do a traceroute on a bunch of sites, and noticed that every single one leads to this "nameintelligence.com" site that I have never heard of. Absolutely every site, including this one, google, my own site, yahoo, microsoft.com, stackoverflow, EVERYTHING, has nameintelligence.com in the first position. What is that site, and what do they do? They're a PR 4 apparently, yet I have never heard of them. I think this would be the right place to ask, I am sorry if I am wrong. • webserver running as nobody cannot resolve domain names

  if i try to run the following: <?php echo file_get_contents("http://www.yahoo.com/index.html"); ?> through the web server I get a an "php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo" error. If I run the same file from the shell with: php test.php then I get the expected file output. This indicates to me that the 'nobody' user, which the webserver runs as, is not able to resolve the domain name, but the shell user can. Any ideas on how to fix this? Further info: CentOS 6, cPanel install, Apache, PHP running as dso. BTW, I've tried disabling the firewall to no effect.

• Google search results are downloaded as a file in Google Chrome

  I'm behind a proxy at work, and Google Chrome insists on downloading Google search results pages instead of displaying them. Whether I try to search from the address bar, from google.com, or from a third-party site that has a Google search form, what ends up happening is that the search results page ends up as a downloaded file called "search" in my downloads directory. I haven't seen this happen with any other search pages. Yahoo! Search, for example, works fine. Has anyone run into this before and/or has any ideas on how to fix it or what might be causing it? I'd try the Chrome support pages, but they're blocked by the proxy...

• Google Chrome appears to hijack default browser

  I read all the advice on how to make Firefox or IE for windows 7 the default browser. I know how to do this but the problem is whenever a program tries to open a page through the default browser it will default to Google Chrome and when I uninstalled Google Chrome then programs like Yahoo Messanger (getting a profile) would fail looking for chrome. I don't think Google would do this sort of thing "HiJack a Default Browser" I'm convinced it must be a trogen or virus or a registery hack. If so any ideas how I would go about fixing this without purchasing every virus/trogen program until it WAS removed This method could be an expensive fix. Thank you Russell Feldman

• CheckPoint VPN-1 SecureClient inability to navigate behind a Linksys WAG300N

  I have a Linksys WAG300N, I'm accessing my LAN with Wifi and everything works fine on my Windows 7 Enterprise laptop. When I try to connect to my company's VPN the connection succeeds, but I cannot access any internet site either within my work network or public site like Yahoo or Google. In my Linksys control panel I already verified all types of VPNs are enable to passthrough. Normal IPSec and Windows VPN worked in the past without any problems. CheckPoint seems to have a solution, but I do not have the ability to change the IP in my client and of course using another NAT device in between is not a solution for me.   I installed SPF on my LAMP server with postfix. But for some reason, I get this error Received-SPF: softfail (mta1070.mail.re4.yahoo.com: domain of transitioning [email protected] does not designate 1.1.1.1 as permitted sender) I have two questions: 1) how do I trouble shoot this error 2) I've been looking through my configuration files in an attempt to change [email protected] to [email protected] because anotherurl.com has the correct SPF TXT records. Where do i go to change this? I tried editing myhostname under /etc/postfix/main.cf, but it didn't do anything.

• Post-compromise security scan; anything else?

  Hi, all. My girlfriend checked her Gmail yesterday morning, and then found, later on in the day, that it would no longer accept her password. She also found that this happened to her Hotmail and Yahoo! accounts. She's only checked these accounts from her work and home PC, and I've spent the day checking the home PC for problems. A full AVG scan revealed a couple of installers for her webcam software that had questionable security signatures, and a full Windows Defender scan brought back nothing. Assuming that her home PC was compromised, somehow, is there anything else I should use to check it for some sort of lingering malicious app before I tell her it's okay to login to her accounts, again? Furthermore, she's going through the GMail "account recovery" process as the account appears to have been disabled. Does anyone know if this actually works? Thanks so much. IVR Avenger

  Hi, I am working on a site that has the following structure: site.com/us - us version site.com/uk - uk version site.com/jp - Japanese version etc. I would like to create a robots.txt that points the local search engines to a localized sitemap page and has them exclude everything else from the local listings. So, google.com (us) will index ONLY site.com/us and take in consideration site.com/us/sitemap.html google.co.uk will index only site.com/uk and site.com/uk/sitemap.html Same for the rest of the search engines, including Yahoo, Bing etc. Any idea on how to achieve this? • Looking for Full Screen Web-Browser in Vizio or Samsung TV's

  I see that Google TV, inside Sony, has a Chrome browser. Is the same thing possible inside Vizio, or Samsung, or any other TV? The 42" Vizio is $499 at Costco, and the Sony with Google TV is $999. We're looking at a buch of these TV's that have build in Wi-Fi, to place around the office as Big Dashboards, and I don't want to have a computer attached to get web content on the screen. It's my understanding that both Samsung Apps, and Vizio Apps, use Yahoo Widgets as their ap engine. Anyone know of a way to get a full screen browser going, without attaching a computer? We thought of attaching an Apple TV, which can be jailbroken, but that is just another piece of equipment to lose, break, etc. Thank you!

  Hello, I am using IE8 since last 6 months and its working fine. I am using it by providing proxy server address. Suddenly it started not working today. Strange thing is that it fails to communicate with proxy server. It still work if I use modem as internet connection, its just has problem with proxy server communicationl. Even my Firefox is working fine. And all installed application like Yahoo Messanger and skype working fine. I also uninstalled and reinstalled, but no luck. Any work around? • I installed DKIM and SPF. Do I need to install Domain Keys as well?

  I have linux apache mysql and php server. My website uses the php mail() function and the server's postfix server to email other people. I successfully installed SPF and DKIM on my server to reduce the likelihood of my website's email-outs from ending up in people's spam boxes. In my research, I stumbled on Domain Keys which seems to be a "historical" version of DKIM. Do the big web mail services like Google, Yahoo and Hotmail still use Domain Keys? If not, then maybe I don't need to install it?
