  Once upon a time, using RBLs to drop mails was actually a good idea. These days seems it is no more possible for a reason or the other, so every one switched / is_switching to just use RBLs as another test in score based antispam solutions (read: SpamAssassin & friends). This gives good results, but neglects one of the benefits of RBLs, namely the ability to reject (supposed) spam before even receiving the message body. Is still there any RBL that makes sense to use that way, to hardly reject anything that fires a match in that list? If there are people doing it that way, do you ever get false positives due to the list?

  I have an Excel document with the following columns; Date | Reference | Amount 23/01/11 | 111111111 | £20.00 25/09/11 | 222222222 | £30.00 11/11/11 | 111111111 | £40.00 01/04/11 | 333333333 | £10.00 31/03/11 | 333333333 | £33.00 20/03/11 | 111111111 | £667.00 21/11/11 | 222222222 | £564.00 I am trying to find a way of summarising the content in the following way; Reference : 111111111 Total: £727 So far the only way I have been able to achieve this is to filter the list by each reference number (manually) and then add a simple SUM formula to the bottom of the list of amounts. Are there any tricks that anyone knows that may speed this up? What I am trying to achieve is a spreadsheet that highlights each reference number that collectively exceeds over £2,000.

For example, the result for the file described above should be: keyA, keyB, keyC Here's the pseudocode I would like to implement in batch file recur.bat Read second line of inputfile If no key exist on second line, return else continue Append keyX to list FINDSTR /v keyX inputfile Pipe results to recur.bat I don't know if this is the most efficient way to do this without using actual programming language. Any suggestions for actual batch file code?

  I tried to install Webmin on Ubuntu by following the instructions on http://www.webmin.com/deb.html.   What I'd like to do is have my Google Voice contacts available on my iPhone, not the other way around. I recently had to restore the phone to factory defaults and it's a pain to manually enter all them all. When I make a new GMail e-mail account on my iPhone it won't let me import contacts from my Google account, but even if it did I don't want every single contact in my phone. Google for some reason adds every single person I've ever sent e-mails to into my contacts list, which as you can imagine is quite a large list by now. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to do this?

  How would one (download and) convert HTML-structures into EPUB (or any other format suitable for the Sony PRS-505 reader)? My question is not how to convert a single HTML file into an EPUB file, as this is easy; what I mean is, I have some books I want to read on my Sony PRS-505 and these books are most often online in HTML format but withmany interlinked pages and there is one page with the list of contents, like this example http://www.edge.org/documents/ThirdCulture/d-Contents.html ... or sometimes it's a little bit more complicated as the list of contents only lists the chapters, and inside the chapters there are links to sub-chapters, like in this example: http:SLASHSLASHwww.hyw.com/Books/WargamesHandbook/Contents.htm (I can only post 1 hyperlink now b/c of user restriction, so this is why there is SLASHSLASH instead of //) I want to convert these examples and several others, with correct chapters, images and some acceptable formatting etc, so basically I want to make a proper ebook out of the HTML-tree.   I'd like to create a settings file for my logman command. I expect to have lots of perfmon counters. Is there any easy way to get all the perfmon counters' exact text anywhere? The only thing I thought of was to create a Perfmon Counter Log through the GUI and then export the list of selected counters--but I don't see an export option! I guess I could manually copy what I see on the screen, but that seems inefficient. I'm going to be dealing with tens of counters. Maybe there is a list somewhere? That'd be easier to copy and paste from.

I believe I can handle the Vlan manipulation with a substitution so no need to spend time on that.

• Outlook displaying sender incorrectly

  In one user mailbox anything sent from any distribution list in our domain shows up as being from 'System Administrator'. It only happens when they are viewing the inbox using outlook (OWA is not affected), and its persisted across computers (though it did not happen immediately). When other users view the inbox from their outlook install (ie open users folder), everything appears as normal. Other folders are not affected. if a message is moved into a subfolder, the sender displays properly. Because of the persistence, and it only affecting one user, I suspect some user behavior is causing this, but i cannot determine what. Ive checked the contact list, and its not that.

• Unable to delete Gmail profile in Outlook 2010

  I used to have 2 Gmail profiles set up in Outlook 2010. I initially had it set up using IMAP, but I deleted it (or so I thought), and re-set it up the old-fashioned way without IMAP. Then finally, I deleted the 2nd Gmail profile altogether. So now I only have ONE Gmail profile set up in Outlook 2010 and it works fine. The problem is that the original Gmail IMAP folder for the 2nd Gmail account is still in my list of folders when I use Outlook. I've already disabled IMAP via my Google Gmail account. But I am unable to delete the folder from Outlook 2010. I have checked in the account settings and it is NOT in my list of email profiles or the data files. Has anyone else had this problem?

  Possible Duplicate: Change left side link of the Save As Dialog for a DropBox one? Almost every time I use the standard Windows (XP) File Open/Save Dialog I get frustrated in how long it takes me to navigate to where I want to go. :-( (I won't even get into the MS Office dialog that makes things even worse) This is the dialog I'm referring to (with some notes) Notes: Wouldn't a Drive list be handy in here? C:\, D:\, E:\, etc. What about a breadcrumb URI? (the magenta list of links) Why isn't Program Files one of the icons on the left? (green) I'm always going in there for something Why can't I type "../../../" to navigate up multiple directories in the File name box? (blue) There has got to be some utilities out there that can "hijack" or "overwrite" this core windows dialog to provide a much better set of options. I'm looking for any/all solutions to help fix this dialog.

• mailman not relaying email to external address

  I have a setup of mailman with postfix on an ubuntu server 12.04. My problem is that mailing list emails are not forwarded to email addresses external to my institution. However the initial welcome email is received by everyone, internally and externally. in fact, a simple email from command line with mail is successfully sent to anyone after that, mailing list emails are only forwarded to internal addresses. the domain name I'm using for the server is not that of my institution who is hosting the server. Here is my main.cf: myorigin = sub.myinstitution.tld mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/16 # this is my institution ip range relayhost = smtp.myinstitution.tld inet_interfaces = loopback-only local_transport = error:local delivery is disabled virtual_alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_mynetworks myhostname = mywebsite.tld mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost I also found these two links on serverfault and ubuntu forums, but neither of these solutions seem to do the trick for me. • Domain pointing to wrong subscription in Plesk 10

  I recently moved a domain name in the Plesk 10 control panel from one subscription to another. DNS is managed by another server so there is no change in DNS at all. The IP address is shared and remains the same so there is really no need for a DNS change. But the domain is still managed by its former subscription (where it should have been removed from) and is pointing to exactly the same folder as in the past, even when is not in the list of domains there. Subsequently, the new subscription do not have the domain under its control. Even this domain is in list of domains here and points to another folder.

• Does anyone know why rsync would keep sending the files over and over again?

  I'm trying to using rsync to backup some files, about half a TB. It's now it a state where it keeps sending the same files everytime it runs. for example: rsync -av /data/source/* user@host:/data/dest sending incremental file list source/file1.txt source/file2.txt I then verify those files are copied over... then the next time it runs it does the same thing rsync -av /data/source/* user@host:/data/dest sending incremental file list source/file1.txt source/file2.txt any idea why it's getting stuck on these files? I've tried to wipe the whole dest directory out and start over but no luck. thanks,

• Multiple Selections from Dropdown in Word 2011 Form

  Anyone know if there is a way to setup a Word form to allow the user to select multiple items from a dropdown list that are then displayed? For example, I need to setup a form to identify applicability of specific procedures to various levels of our organization. Since the listing of all departments under all divisions can be pretty lengthy, I was hoping for the ability to check off a division and then have a dropdown list on the same line to select the applicable departments (so the selections are specific to that division and not all listed on the form if that division is not applicable). First, I'm not seeing how to create a dropdown that would allow multiple selections. Beyond that, I don't know if that form element alone would then display all selected items or if that would require another element of some type. Anyone have any suggestions on this? • Can qmail-ldap replace the validrcptto file?

  We are using qmail to route incoming mail to our Domino server. However, that requires us to maintain the validrcptto with the list of all allowed email addresses. Since Domino provides an LDAP directory, does qmail-ldap provide functionnality to lookup valid rcpt to addresses in the Domino directory instead of the validrcptto file, so that we wouldn't have to maintain that extra list ? We have about 150~200 users, so is setting up qmail-ldap worth the extra mile if it can verify addresses in the LDAP directory ? If anyone has experience with qmail-ldap and its setup, I'd be glad to hear from you.

• Tool or script to detect moved or renamed files on Linux prior to a backup

  Basically I am searching to see if there exists a tool or script that can detect moved or renamed files so that I can get a list of renamed/moved files and apply the same operation on the other end of the network to conserve on bandwidth. Basically disk storage is cheap but bandwidth isn't, and the problem is that the files often will be reorganized or moved around into a better directory structure thus when you use rsync to do the backup, rsync won't notice that its a renamed or moved file and re-transmission it over the network all over again despite having the same file on the other end. So I am wondering if there exists a script or tool that can record where all the files are and their names, then just prior to a backup, it would rescan and detect moved or renamed files, then I can take that list and re-apply the move/rename operation on the other side. Here's a list of the "general" features of the files: Large unchanging files They can be renamed or moved around [Edit:] These all are good answers, and what I end up doing in the end was looking at all of the answers and will be writing some code to deal with this. Basically what I am thinking/working on now is: Using something like AIDE for the "initial" scan and enable me to keep checksums on the files because they are supposed to never change, so it would aid on detecting corruption. Creating an inotify daemon that would monitor these files/directory and recording any changes relating to renames & moving the files around to a log file. There are some edge cases where inotify might fail to record that something happened to the file system, thus there is a final step of using find to search the file system for files that has a change time latter than the last backup. This has several benefits: Checksums/etc from AIDE to be able to check/make sure that some media did not get corrupt Inotify keeps resource usage low and no need to re-scan the filesystem over and over No need to patch rsync; If I have to patch things I can, but I would prefer to avoid patching things to keep the burden lower, (IE don't need to re-patch everytime there is an update). I've used Unison before and its really nice, however I could've sworn that Unison does keep copies around on the filesystem and that its "archive" files can grow to be rather large?

• Outlook.com Sweep rule vs Filter rule

  New outlook.com introduced new sweep option. With it, you can create a filter to move messages from particular sender to a particular folder after certain days the mail comes. This rules gets added to the Filter list. However we cannot edit this rule by clicking Edit in front of it in that list. The dialog appears saying you should delete the rule and create the new one. I don't understand why sweep rules are considered differently from Filter rules? I have 68 filter rules. What if I want to add such time clause to these filter rules so that instead of moving the incoming mails immediately to a certain folder, they will be kept in Inbox for say 10 days and then they will be moved. Such time clause cannot be added to the filter rules. So should I delete all these 68 filters and create new Sweep rules?

  I have web server that is getting around 25K visits a day up at yougetsignal.com. Sometimes the site feels a bit sluggish. I am hosting it on nginx with php5-fpm. Is there a way for me to see a list of all of the long running requests that are coming to the site? I'd love to have a real-time list of all of the active requests that PHP is handling and how long they have been running. Kind of like top, but just for the web server. This would let me know how long requests are taking and which script is the culprit. Anyone have any ideas on how I can do this?

• Cisco ASA - Unable to create "range" type of network object on 8.2

  I'm wanting to block a range of ip addresses on my Cisco ASA 5520 (8.2) using ASDM 6.4. In the help files/cisco documentation, it says, just create a network object with a "range" type, and use that in a blocking access rule... When I'm accessing the ASA (8.2) with ASDM 6.4, I go to configfirewallobjectnetwork objects & groups, then click "add" to add the IP range as a "network object", I get the following 4 fields to fill out: Name: IP address: Netmask: Description: That's all... In the context-sensitive help files, it says that there should be a Type drop-down to select, with "range" being one of the options, but there is no "Type" drop-down list... If I try to create a "network object group" instead of just "network object", then I get a "Type" drop down list, but it only contains two options: network & host (No "Range" option here either) Can someone help me figure out how to block a range of IP's, using the current 8.2 version on the ASA? • Mailman bounces go to me, do not unsubscribe user! (MacOS Server)

  I run a large mailing list (30,000 users). Every month I get a whole slew of bounces in my mailbox from the "mailing list memberships reminder" that get sent out. I thought that these were supposed to go to the program and automatically unsubscribe people, not go to me. We are running a standard unmodified MacOS Server installation. Here is a typical bounce: From: Mail Delivery System Subject: Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender To: [email protected] This is the mail system at host mail.COMPANY.COM. I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below. For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster. If you do so, please include this problem report. You can delete your own text from the attached returned message. The mail system ... Any idea what to do?
