  Hey guys.. i have been given a task to find out the methods used to support many different IP cameras in a single software which manages them. for eg. The methods or protocols used by Milestone's XPrtotect softwares. We are already dealing with DVR cameras.   Hi, i just lunch my web site i used the asp.net routing technology on it, and its work fine in my localhost but when i moved the project to the hosting server(Godaddy.com) its just work fine when there is no virtual sub directories like this(havebreak.com) but when u click on this link (havebreak.com/Registration/) or any other links that contain a virtual sub-directories its give Object reference not set to an instance of an object error on the profile object if (!Profile.IsAnonymous) Line 18: mlvRegistratioin.ActiveViewIndex = 1; i check my IIS settings and found it using the "Integrated pipeline" as recommended (at least at my knowledge), i checked the httpModules and httpHandlers tags under the system.webServer (since my hosting plan use the IIS7) and under the normal tag and every thing is fine then i used the url-rewriting instead of URL-Routing and the same problem exist and i notice that the session also not working in the virtual sub-directories too and by the way the ASP.NET routing work fine with my site its just the profile and session objects that not workin any help will be appreciated

  I have been reading about Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS). I sort of wonder how would this work with ASP.NET MVC? I get the idea of CQRS conceptually it sounds nice and sure does introduce some complexities (event and messaging pattern) compared to the "normal/common" approach . Also the idea of CQRS sort of against the use of ORM in some ways. I am trying to think how I could use this pattern in the coming projects so if anyone has experience in combining CQRS with ASP.NET MVC and NHibernate please give some concrete examples to help me better understand CQRS and use with ASP.NET MVC.   Hi Im facing a probem with the car and cdr functions for example: first I defined a list caled it x (define x (a (bc) d ( (ef) g ) )) so x now is equal to (a (bc) d ( (ef) g ) now for example I need to get the g from this list using only car and cdr (!! noshortcuts as caddr cddr !!) the correct answer is: (car(cdr(car(cdr(cdr(cdr x)))))) BUT how ? :-( I work according to the rule (the car gives the head of list and cdr gives the tail) and instead of getting the answer above I keep reaching wronge answers can any one help me in understanding this ... give me step or a way to solve it step by step thanx in advance Im really sick of scheme language.

• MySQL storing negative and positive decimals

  Hello, I want to be able to store -11.99 and +11.99 kind of values in mysql db I am thinking of decimals instead of varchar. But reading mysql site I found out that its incompatible with older versions of mysql As a result of the change from string to numeric format for DECIMAL storage, DECIMAL columns no longer store a leading + or - character or leading 0 digits. Before MySQL 5.0.3, if you inserted +0003.1 into a DECIMAL(5,1) column, it was stored as +0003.1. As of MySQL 5.0.3, it is stored as 3.1. For negative numbers, a literal - character is no longer stored. Applications that rely on the older behavior must be modified to account for this change. So what should be the data type, If I have to give up varchar and make it compatible with older versions too?

If we hit the first target then second target will come. The targets have properties like name, speedOfGunDraw, probability to hit the player, speedOfFire. • C# Class Instantiation Overflow

  Scenario I have a C# Win Forms App, where the Main Form contains a loop that creates 3000 Instances of another form (Form B). Inside Form B there are a large number of properties and fields and a bunch of methods that do a fair amount of processing. Question Will the creation of 3000 of these classes give me problems? I'm thinking along the lines of memory exceptions? I've had 1 or 2 already, and I've also had an exception that says something along the lines of "Something went bang and this is usually a sign of corrupt memory somewhere else". Setup I'm using a DevExpress Ribbon Form and I haven't implemented Dispose on anything....Do I need to? Help greatly appreciated.

I just want to give it a try, just for fun, and right now, I found 3 APIs, but I am not sure which one should I stick with. Right now, I see Boost's MPI, OpenMP and TBB. For anyone who have experienced with any of these 3 API (or any other API), could you please tell me the difference between these? Are there any factor to consider, like AMD or Intel architecture?

• Iterating 'Active' View Controllers

  Ola Folks, In an iPhone application I am displaying different views by using the addSubView:SomeViewController.view method. I want to be able to, at the very least, log the view controllers that are in the view hierarchy that is being displayed. I would prefer to be able to get a handle to a specific view controller. I know how to iterate the views, I just do not see how to access the view controllers of those views. I am looking for something that will give me the type of access to the view controllers that UINavigationController::ViewControllers does. I thought I could get away with: for (UIViewController* oVC in [self.view subviews]) but this is not having the intended effect. If someone has a way of doing this, please share it with me. -isdi-

  I am embarking on some learning and I want to write my own syntax highlighting for files in C++. Can anyone give me ideas on how to go about doing this? To me it seems that when a file is opened: It would need to be parsed and decided what type of source file it is. Trusting the extension might not be fool-proof A way to know what keywords/commands apply to what language A way to decide what color each keyword/command gets I want to do this on OS X, using C++ or Objective-C. Can anyone provide pointers on how I might get started with this?

  Why do the following URLs give me the IIS errors below: A) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/Small+test' A2) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/Small%20test' <-- this works, but is not the result from HttpUtility.UrlEncode() B) http://192.168.1.96/cms/View.aspx/Show/'%26$%23funky**!!~''+page Error for A: HTTP Error 404.11 - Not Found The request filtering module is configured to deny a request that contains a double escape sequence. Error for B: HTTP Error 400.0 - Bad Request ASP.NET detected invalid characters in the URL. The last part of the URL after /Show/ is the result after the text is being sent through HttpUtility.UrlEncode() so, according to Microsoft it is URL Encoded correctly. If I user HttpUtility.UrlPathEncode() rather than HttpUtility.UrlEncode() I get the A2 results. But B ends up looking like: http://192.168.1.96/TVCMS-CVJZ/cms/View.aspx/Show/'&$#funky**!!~''%20page which is still wrong. Does Microsoft know how to URL Encode at all? Is there a function someone has written up to do it the correct way?

• Exposing APIs - third party or homegrown?

  Parts of the project I'm currently working on (I can't give details) will be exposed as an API at some point over the next few months and I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a third party API 'provider' (possibly Mashery or SO advertiser Webservius). And I mean recommend in the 'I've used these people and they are good' sense because although I can google for an answer to this question it is more difficult to get truly unbiased opinions. As an addendum is there much mileage in creating a bespoke API solution and has anyone had any joy going down that road? Thanks in anticipation.

• Entity framework, adding custom entity to diagram

  Hello I'm using the entity framework that comes with 3.5sp1, and I'm trying to add a custom entity that I will propulate with searchresults from a stored procedure. But I have problems with the designer....... when I pick "Add + Entity" and give it a name, and hit save, the whole diagram stops working...... blah entities namespace could not be found..... all the other entities have lost its reference or summet. Works when I add a "table" to it that exists in database. But when custom it screws everything up. How should I fix this? I've imported the function, I just need to add an entity for it... I've read http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/gilf/archive/2009/03/13/mapping-stored-procedure-results-to-a-custom-entity-in-entity-framework.aspx but I cant get to step 3 since of all the errors when saving on step 2. /M

• Powershell 4 compatibility with Windows 2008 r2

  In my environment I have a single server that has access to pretty much my entire network. That server is running Windows 2008 r2, and I have upgraded Powershell to version 4.0. The question I have is this... Can I run cmdlets from that machine on other machines that are version 4 specific? For instance, when I am using Powershell, even though it is version 4, it doesn't give me an intellisense autocomplete for "Get-Volume" like it would on a 2012 r2 machine. I understand that it won't run on that machine because the infrastructure won't allow for it, but what about a 2012 r2 machine remotely? I am looking to run batch scripts from there for various purposes.

  Hello, In MySQL I have a table called "meanings" with three columns: "person" (int), "word" (byte, 16 possible values) "meaning" (byte, 26 possible values). A person assigns one or more meanings to each word: person word meaning ------------------- 1 1 4 1 2 19 1 2 7 <-- second meaning for word 2 1 3 5 ... 1 16 2 Then another person, and so on. There will be thousands of persons. I need to find for each of the 16 words the top three meanings (with their frequencies). Something like: word 1: meaning 5 (35% of people), meaning 19 (22% of people), meaning 2 (13% of people) word 2: meaning 8 (57%), meaning 1 (18%), meaning 22 (7%) ... Is it possible to solve this with a single MySQL query? (If this problem is a classic one and has been answered elsewhere, I would appreciate if you could give me a link to the solution.)   Hi, I want to update few variables when any of the toolbar button (like bold, italic etc) is clicked. I'm unable to trap 'click' event on any of these buttons. Could somebody give me an example when clicking on 'bold' button would also pop up an alert box? How can I trap 'paste' event?   I have some survey data which I'm using Stata to analyze. I want to compute means of one variable by group and save those means to a Stata file. My code looks like this: svyset [iw=wtsupp], sdrweight(repwtp1-repwtp160) vce(sdr) svy: mean x I tried svy: by grp: mean x but that did not work. I could save each mean to a separate file by simply saying svy: mean x if grp==1 but that's inefficient. Is there a better way? Saving results to a file like one can use SAS ODS to capture results is also a need. I am not talking about the log here. I need the means and the associated group. I'm thinking estimates save [path],replace but I'm not sure if that will give me a Stata file or the group if I can figure out how to use by processing.

• Has anyone managed to get jdotnetservices working on Android ?

  I am trying to use jdotnetservices (http://www.jdotnetservices.com/), which is a java SDK for Windows Azure AppFabric, in an Android application. I have had to make some tweaks but only minor ones because jdotnetservices is written to target Java 1.6 and Android uses 1.5. I can get it to compile and run OK but I'm getting errors when I try to access the service bus ACS. Specifically, if I try to get a token from the service bus ACS I get this : Hostname mysolution-sb.accesscontrol.windows.net was not verified. Can anyone give me some pointers as to why this might be ? I can browse to the url of the ACS from Android : https://mysolution-sb.accesscontrol.windows.net/wrapv0.9 which gives me a certificate error, could this be why ? Any way round this ?

  I'm working on a survey program where people will be given promotional considerations the first time they fill out a survey. In a lot of scenarios, the only way we can stop people from cheating the system and getting a promotion they don't deserve is to check street address strings against each other. I was looking at using levenshtein distance to give me a number to measure similarity, and consider those below a certain threshold a duplicate. However, if someone were looking to game the system, they could easily write "S 5th St" instead of "South Fifth Street", and levenshtein would consider those strings to be very different. So then I was thinking to convert all strings to a 'standard address form' i.e. 'South' becomes 's', 'Fifth' becomes '5th', etc. Then I was thinking this is hopeless, and too much effort to get it working robustly. Is it? I'm working with PHP/MySql, so I have the limitations inherent in that system.

  Hello, I am developing a active messaging protocol for parallel computation that replaces TCP/IP. My goal is to decrease the latency of a packet. Since the environment is a LAN, i can replace TCP/IP with simpler protocol to reduce the packet latency. I am not writing any device driver and i am just trying to replace the TCP/IP stack with something simpler. Now I wanted to avoid copying of a packet's data from user space to kernel space and vice-versa. I heard of the mmap(). Is it the best way to do this?
