• Validation Summary with JQuery in MVC 2

  I'm trying to get client validation working on my asp.net mvc 2 web application (Visual Studio 2010). The client side validation IS working. However the validation summary is not. I'm including the following scripts <script type="text/javascript" src="../../content/scripts/jquery-1.4.1.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../../content/scripts/jquery.validate.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../../content/scripts/MicrosoftMvcJQueryValidation.js"></script> Have this before this form is started <% Html.EnableClientValidation(); %> and inside the form is <%: Html.ValidationSummary("There are some errors to fix.", new { @class = "warning_box" })%> <p> <%: Html.LabelFor(m => m.Name) %><br /> <%: Html.TextBoxFor(m => m.Name) %> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(m => m.Name, "*") %> </p> I have that latest version of MicrosoftMvcJQueryValidation.js from the MvcFutures download, but it doesn't look like it supports Validation Summary. I've tried correcting this by setting extra options such as errorContainer and errorLabelContainer, but it looks like there's some more underlying issues with it. Is there an updated / better version of this file around?

SA is the Standard Admin user I used to create the table. It should be able to persist as this user into hsqldb.

• JavaScript variable to ColdFusion variable

  I have a tricky one. By means of a <cfoutput query="…"> I list some records in the page from a SQL Server database. By the end of each line viewing I try to add this in to a record in a MySQL database. As you see is simple, because I can use the exact variables from the output query in to my new INSERT INTO statement. BUT: the rsPick.name comes from a database with a different character set and the only way to get it right into my new database is to read it from the web page and not from the value came in the output query. • Flex, Ant, mxmlc and conditional compilation

  My ActionScript project builds with several compile-time specified constants. They are all Booleans, and only one of them is true at any given time. The rest must be false. When I represented my build process in a bash script, I could loop through the names of all these constants, set one of them to be true and the rest to be false, then concatenate them onto a string to be inserted as a set of arguments passed to mxmlc. In Ant, looping is more complicated. I've tried the ant-contrib for tag: <mxmlc file='blah' output='blah'> <!- ... -> <for list='${commaSeparatedListOfConstNames}' param='constName'> <sequential> <define> <name>${constName}</name> <value>${constName} == ${theTrueConst}</value> <!-- (mxmlc's define arguments can be strings that are evaluated at compile time) --> </define> </sequential> </for> </mxmlc> Long story short, ant-contrib tags like the for tag can't go in the mxmlc task. • Rails Nested Forms Attributes not saving if Fields Added with jQuery

  Hi I have a rails form with a nested form. I used Ryan Bates nested form with jquery tutorial and I have it working fine as far as adding the new fields dynamically. But when I go to submit the form it does not save any of the associated attributes. However if the partial builds when the form loads it creates the attribute just fine. I can not figure out what is not being passed in the javascript that is failing to communicate that the form object needs to be saved. • Binding WPF menu items to WPF Tab Control Items collection

  I have a WPF Menu and a Tab control. I would like the list of menu items to be generated from the collection of TabItems on my tab control. I am binding my tab control to a collection to generate the TabItems. I have a TabItem style that uses a ContentPresenter to display the TabItem text in a TextBlock. When I bind the tab items to my menu the menu items are blank. I assume the menu items are looking for the Header property of the TabItems which I am not using. Is there a workaround for my scenario? Is it possible to bind to the Header property of the tab item, when I do not know the number of tabs in advance? Below is a copy of my xaml declarations.   How to enable TextWrapping in the AutoCompleteBox control of the SilverlightToolkit (November 2009)? There is no property to set the wrapping mode. So is there any workaround?   I have a form that's made up of many items (think order items on an amazon order). Each row has a checkbox associated with them so the user can select many items and click 'remove'. However, after I process the request in the action (e.g. remove the appropriate items) and return a new view containing fewer items, the state of the form is 'semi' persisted. Some check boxes remain checked, even though in the edit model all the bools are set to false. I don't have this problem if I return a RedirectToActionResult, but using that as a solution seems a bit of a hacky work around. I think I need to flush/refresh the ModelState, or something similiar, but I'm unsure of the terms to search for to find out how.

The other column is a TemplateField column (LinkButton) and as the user clicks on the button it will grab the value from the ID column and pass the value to one of my javascript function. • Showing right sub-ul of parent ul menu

  Hello, i have this html menu: <ul id='main'> <li class='active current' id='lighty'> <a href='/'>Lighty</a> <ul> <li class='sub'> <a href='/'>Hem</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li id='community'> <a href='/community'>Community</a> </li> </ul> And this jquery: $("#menu ul > li").mouseenter(function(){ id = $(this).attr("id"); $("#menu #main li").removeClass("active"); $(this).addClass("active"); }).mouseleave(function(){ id = $(this).attr("id"); menu.timers[id] = setTimeout(function(){$("#menu #main li#"+id).removeClass("active");}, 2000); }); What i am trying to acomplish is that when i hover one of the li's in the main ul the child ul of that li should be displayed. and when i move the mouse out of the li or the child ul the menu should be visible for 2 seconds. It works through the main li button but if on the child ul and move out it just disapears, it doesnt wait for two seconds. The waiting two seconds is so you can go in to the menu if you accidentaly move the mouse out of it. Can anybody help me to fix this error? Maybe you have a better solution?   An XML snippet: <results> <review> <api_detail_url>http://api.giantbomb.com/review/1/</api_detail_url> <game> <api_detail_url>http://api.giantbomb.com/game/20462/</api_detail_url> <id>20462</id> <name>SingStar</name> </game> <score>4</score> </review> </results> And here's my testing code, just to show whether data is being collected or not ('data' holds the XML): var element; $(data).find('review').each(function() { element = $(this).find('name').text(); }); alert(element); Now here's the problem, only this query actually returns data: $(this).find('score').text(); The alert box in this case would pop up with '4'. These two other queries don't return anything (the alert box is blank): $(this).find('api_detail_url').text(); $(this).find('name').text(); I've tried using jQuery selectors, like... $(this).find('game > name').text(); ...but that doesn't work, either, still get a blank alert box. Am I missing something? Testing is being done in Chrome.

  I got a web deyploment project for a web application project in vs 2008. While building the web deployment project, I want to replace properties in the web.config. My settings are autogenrated by the deisgner. <applicationSettings> <NAMESPACE.Properties.Settings> <setting name="Testenvironment" serializeAs="String"> <value>True</value> </setting> </NAMESPACE.Properties.Settings> </applicationSettings> In the config file which contains the settings for the specific server looks like the following: <?xml version="1.0"?> <applicationSettings> <NAMESPACE.Properties.Settings> <setting name="Testenvironment" serializeAs="String"> <value>False</value> </setting> </NAMESPACE.Properties.Settings> </applicationSettings> Sadly, this does not work. I get an error "The format of a configSource file must be an element containing the name of the section" that highlights the second line (2nd example code). How must the Tag be named in order to make evertything work? Edit: Deleting the "applicationSetting"-Tags does not work either.
