• mysqli and field types

  Hi, I'd like to know if there is a simple way to fetch data from mysql tables with "correct" data types? What i mean, if field type is for example INT or SMALLINT is it possible to pass those types directly to PHP as integers? I did some searching and found mysqli_fetch_fields, but for SMALLIT type is 2, for INT 3 and so on. It could be done that way, but it looks rather clumsy workaround. Is there any better way? I'm using PHP and mysqli. Thank you.

  How can I change the default UI language when installing a patch/update? The problem is that the patch takes the initial language in which the setup to be patched was installed and not the current system language (defined in Reginal Settings/Advanced Options). I wonder if there is a property or switch that I can pass to a msp file to change its UI language. Example: I created 'setup_v00.exe' (english and french) and a patch 'update_v00_v01.exe' (english and french); with system language = english, 'setup_v00.exe' installs in english; change system language in french; with system language = french, 'update_v00_v01.exe' still installs in english but I want it to install with a french interface;

  Hello, I am trying to replace a variable stored in another file using regular expression.   I'm making a GWT application which will have many screens. There will be a menu on the left and clicking a menu option will open the relevant module in the right side content area. Clicking on items in the content area will link to other modules that open in the same content area. How do I implement this architecture? How do I pass objects between the different content modules? How do I isolate each module into its own package? Can all of these be within the same Eclipse project? Anything else that should be considered?

  I'm dealing with django-paypal and want to change the button src images. So I went the the conf.py file in the source and edited the src destination. Since changing this def in the source is worse than changing conf, I was wondering if there was a way to pass in customized defs you make like passing in initial arguments in forms?   Hi, I am writing the following in PHP: i would like to have 2 dropdownlists, where the second one is populated from a mySQL dB according to the choice made on the first dropdown list. Then I would like to use the values of the selected values of the dropdownlist to call another PHP page in which I will generate a db query. Eg: List A: Car Manufactures (honda, nissan, etc) List B: Models (accord, civic, etc) Then I will have a submit button, to POST the values in another PHP file? • Oracle/c#: How do i use bind variables with select statements to return multiple records?

  I have a question regarding Oracle bind variables and select statements. What I would like to achieve is do a select on a number different values for the primary key. I would like to pass these values via an array using bind values. select * from tb_customers where cust_id = :1 int[] cust_id = { 11, 23, 31, 44 , 51 }; I then bind a DataReader to get the values into a table. The problem is that the resulting table only contains a single record (for cust_id=51). Thus it seems that each statement is executed independently (as it should), but I would like the results to be available as a collective (single table). A workaround is to create a temporary table, insert all the values of cust_id and then do a join against tb_customers. The problem with this approach is that I would require temporary tables for every different type of primary key, as I would like to use this against a number of tables (some even have combined primary keys). Is there anything I am missing?

  I currently have a type that I inject into my controllers that's used for getting and setting session data. I use this so that I can obtain relevant session information as _sessionData.Username rather than using Session["username"]. I'd like to use this session information across all of my views and would previously have done this by making the SessionData members static instead of injecting the SessionData class into my controller. I want to avoid using static members as well as having to pass the object to the view in each controller. What patterns best suit this type of scenario? What do you do to solve this same problem?

  I need to get a Date from an SQL Server Database (SQL Server 2000), the date is stored as such: 2009-09-30 00:00:00.000 I want to pass this date into a Classic ASP function to use this date in the Database somewhere else, however when I get the date, it converts in my ASP code to a locale-dependant version, such as: 30/09/2009 I just want the date as-is as formatting the date so it is correct again seems unnecessary, although if this the only way then fine - is there any way to treat it as string data so it stays like that, so it can be inserted back into the database as the same date, without needing conversion?

User will invoke URl with some params containing id of some entity, which is later used to persist some other entity in db. whole process can be summarized by fallowing: 1. user open page http://www.somhost.com/JsfApp/step-one.xhtml?sid=1 2. user fills some data and goes to next page 3. user fills some more data and then entity is saved to db with sid param from step one. I have session scoped backing bean that hold data from all the pages (steps), but I cant pass param to bean property.. any ideas?

  I have developed a simple mechanism for my mvc website to pull in html via jquery which then populates a specified div. All is well and it looks cool. My problem is that i'm now creating html markup inside of my controller (Which is very easy to do in VB.net btw) I'd rather not mix up the sepparation of concerns. Is it possible to use a custom 'MVC View User Control' to suit this need? Can I create an instance of a control, pass in the model data and render to html? It would then be a simple matter of rendering and passing back to the calling browser.

  I've got a problem when using Shoes. I'm basically trying to open an excel document and pass the names of the worksheets to a list_box. The following method is called on a button press after selecting a file.   Hi, I am developing my first big application using codeigniter and need a little help as I am fairly new to it all. I know how to get records out of the DB and display them, but I now have to get results from two tables and display them. I pass $data to the view, it works fine for $data['prop'] but I can't get the rest. $data['prop'] = $this->ManageProperty_model->get_property_details($p_id); $data['img'] = $this->ManageProperty_model->get_property_images($p_id); $this->load->model('ManageBranch_model'); $data['branch'] = $this->ManageBranch_model->get_branch_details($p_id); I usually echo out results like so: <?php foreach ($prop as $p) : ?> <?php echo $p->ID; ?> <?php endforeach; ?> Even if there is only 1 row being returned as I am not sure of another way.do I need a foreach for img and branch?

  Hello. I wrote a test dll in C++ to make sure things work before I start using a more important dll that I need. Basically it takes two doubles and adds them, then returns the result. I've been playing around and with other test functions I've gotten returns to work, I just can't pass an argument due to errors. My code is: import ctypes import string nDLL = ctypes.WinDLL('test.dll') func = nDLL['haloshg_add'] func.restype = ctypes.c_double func.argtypes = (ctypes.c_double,ctypes.c_double) print(func(5.0,5.0)) It returns the error for the line that called "func": ValueError: Procedure probably called with too many arguments (8 bytes in excess) What am I doing wrong?
