    Trying to do a redirect after a successful login. The login info is sent using ajax to the controller.     I want to loop through an object that contains functions which will execute one after another. My most ideal approach would be to have these chain somehow (ie. func2 waits for func1 and func3 waits for func2) but this needs to happen dynamically and the functions will all have different durations. I'm using jQuery so I thought that perhaps "queue()" may help but I haven't worked with it much. A main concern is to not add any scope/callbacks to the functions within the object. I'd rather somehow enclose them within a parent function to execute within the loop in order to create the callback/chaining. Here's an example of what I've got now, but dumbed down.   • jQuery .load() call doesn't execute javascript in loaded html file

    This seems to be a problem related to Safari only. I've tried 4 on mac and 3 on windows and am still having no luck. What I'm trying to do is load an external html file and have the Javascript that is embedded execute. The code I'm trying to use is this: $("#myBtn").click(function() { $("#myDiv").load("trackingCode.html"); }); trackingCode.html looks like this (simple now, but will expand once/if I get this working): <html> <head> <title>Tracking HTML File</title> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> alert("outside the jQuery ready"); $(function() { alert("inside the jQuery ready"); }); </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> I'm seeing both alert messages in IE (6 & 7) and Firefox (2 & 3). However, I am not able to see the messages in Safari (the last browser that I need to be concerned with - project requirements - please no flame wars). Any thoughts on why Safari is ignoring the Javascript in the trackingCode.html file? Eventually I'd like to be able to pass Javascript objects to this trackingCode.html file to be used within the jQuery ready call, but I'd like to make sure this is possible in all browsers before I go down that road.     I've got this form working, but according to my previous question it might not be supported: it isn't in the docs either way -- but the intention is pretty obvious in the code. $(".section.warranty .warranty_checks :last").after( $('<div class="little check" />').click( function () { alert('hi') } ) , $('<span>OEM</span>') /*Notice this (a second) argument */ ); What this does is insert <div class="little check"> with a simple .click() callback, followed by a sibling of <span>OEM</span>. How else can I write this then? I'm having difficulty conjuring something working by chaining any combination of .after(), and .insertAfter()?     Hello all, I have tags in a html list, here is an example of two tags. <div class="tags"> <ul> <li> <a onclick="tag_search('tag1');" href="#">tag1 <span class="num-active">1</span></a> </li> <li> <a onclick="tag_search('tag2');" href="#">tag2 <span class="num-active">1</span></a> </li> </ul> </div> I would like to write a function that I can pass a string to, that will match the strings in the a hyperlink i.e. "tag1" or "tag2", if there is a match then increment the number in the span, if not then add a new li. The bit I am having trouble with is how do I search for a string in the div with class tags and then when I find a match identifying the element. I can't even do the first bit as I am use to using an ID or a Class.   • Two forms but only 1 jsp file

    Here's what I've got going on. I have one .jsp file. However, I have two forms with multiple inputs inside those forms. What is the best way to detect that one form was submitted but not the other?   • jQuery/Javascript Cookies and variable returning with value [object Object]

    I am attempting to set a cookie to a site using jQuery, ONLY if the user came from a specific site. In this case, lets use -http://referrersite.com- as the site they must come from for the cookie to be created as an example. The cookie value is being stored in a variable and everything up to this point is working fine. There is a conditional statement checking whether the user came from the referred site, if the cookie exists already and if the cookie doesn't exist and the user did not come from the referred site. If the user came from the referred site the cookie is created and stored in a variable. If the cookie already exists, it is then stored in a variable. If the cookie does not exist and the user did not come from the referred site I am assigning the variable a static string of characters - this is where the issue lies. When the variable is alerted from the non referred site and no existing cookie, it returns: [object Object], not the static string of characters. How would I fix this so the the span tag or any other selected HTML isn't stripped out of the alert message?

    Hi! I'm trying to build DOM with jQuery and fill it with data that is received with AJAX (data type = json). I'd like to also store this data as an object, attached to a specific DOM element. Does jQuery provide any method for this? The reason I want to do it is because only part of data is initially displayed; other data might be needed later, depending on user actions. I tried using attr(), but it stores a string "[object Object]" instead of an actual object: var div = $('<div/>'); div.attr('foo', {bar: 'foobar'}); alert(div.attr('foo')); // gives "[object Object]" alert(typeof div.attr('foo')); // gives "string" alert(div.attr('foo').bar); // gives "undefined" Another way to do this would be by "bypassing" jQuery (div[0].foo = {bar: 'foobar'};), though this seems to be a "dirty workaround", if jQuery happens to already support attaching objects. I try to unbind it but it doesn't work...     Hi, I am using a Javascript function to get the values of a URL to pass to jQuery using the function below: function getUrlVars() { var vars = [], hash; var hashes = window.location.href.slice(window.location.href.indexOf('?') + 1).split('&'); for(var i = 0; i < hashes.length; i++) { hash = hashes[i].split('='); vars.push(hash[0]); vars[hash[0]] = hash[1]; } return vars; } And then setting the value like this: var type = getUrlVars()["type"] This all works perfectly, however I have just come into a situation where I need to get multiple values, one of my form elements are checkboxes where multiple values can be checked, so my URL will look something like this: http://www.domain.com/test.php?type=1&cuisine[]=23&cuisine[]=43&name=test If I alert out the cuisine value using the function above I only ever get the final value: alert (getUrlVars()["cuisine[]"]); Would alert "43". What I would like it to be is a comma delimited string of all "cuisine" values. ie in the above example "23,43" Any help very welcome! In case any solution requires it I am using PHP 5.3 and Jquery 1.4

  • Accessing "pseudo-globals" by their name as a string

    I am now in the process of removing most globals from my code by enclosing everything in a function, turning the globals into "pseudo globals," that are all accessible from anywhere inside that function block. (function(){ var g = 1; var func f1 = function () { alert (g); } var func f2= function () { f1(); } })(); (technically this is only for my "release version", where I append all my files together into a single file and surround them with the above....my dev version still has typically one global per js file) This all works great except for one thing...there is one important place where I need to access some of these "globals" by string name. Previously, I could have done this: var name = "g"; alert (window[name]); and it did the same as alert(g); Now -- from inside the block -- I would like to do the same, on my pseudo-globals. But I can't, since they are no longer members of any parent object ("window"), even though are in scope. Any way to access them by string? Thanks...

  • IPsec tunnel to Android device not created even though there is an IKE SA

    I'm trying to configure a VPN tunnel between an Android device running 4.1 and a Fedora 17 Linux box running strongSwan 5.0. The device reports that it is connected and strongSwan statusall returns that there is an IKE SA, but doesn't display a tunnel. I used the instructions for iOS in the wiki to generate certificates and configure strongSwan. Since Android uses a modified version of racoon this should work and since the connection is partly established I think I am on the right track. I don't see any errors about not being able to create the tunnel.   • Running a Java program with a .dll from Adobe AIR's native process

    I would like to be able to operate a scanner from my AIR application. Since there's no support for this natively, I'm trying to use the NativeProcess class to start a jar file that can run the scanner. The Java code is using the JTwain library to operate the scanner. The Java application runs fine by itself, and the AIR application can start and communicate with the Java application. The problem seems to be that any time I attempt to use a function from JTwain (which relies on the JTwain.dll), the application dies IF AIR STARTED IT. I'm not sure if there's some limit about referencing dll files from the native process or what.     Hello, I have a DataGridView that I am binding to a POCO. I have the databinding working fine. However, I have added a combobox column that I want to be different for each row. Specifically, I have a grid of purchased items, some of which have sizes (like Adult XL, Adult L) and other items are not sized (like Car Magnet.) So essentially what I want to change is the DATA SOURCE for a combobox column in the data grid. Can that be done? What event can I hook into that would allow me to change properties of certain columns FOR EACH ROW? An acceptable alternative is to change a property when the user clicks or tabs into the row. What event is that? Seth EDIT I need more help with this question. With Triduses help I am SO close but I need a bit more information. First, per the question, is the CellFormatting event really the best/only event for changing the DataSource for a combo box column. I ask because I am doing something rather resource/data intensive, not merely formatting the cell. Second, the cellformatting event is being called just by having the mouse hover over the cell. I tried to set the FormattingApplied property inside my if-block and then I check for it in the if- test but that is returning a weird error message. My ideal situation is that I would apply change the data source for the combo box once for each row and then be done with it. Finally, in order to set the data source of the combobox colunm I have to be able to cast the Cell inside my if block to a type of DataGridViewComboBoxColumn so that I can fill it with rows or set the datasource or something. Here is the code I have right now. I need the datagrid to parse the input and place the data in the correct rows and columns of the datagrid. flow: click on a date in the tree and it makes a server request for batch information in xml form.
