  • How does compiler use lib file ?

    I am curious about how c/c++ compiler analyse lib files ? I mean say I create a library containing some classes, I am using that library in my main program. How does compiler know what class names are there in that library. Of course that information is present in binary format, I want to use that functionality in my program, to be specific I have a binary lib file and I want to know all classes and properties/functions present in that lib file. Is it possible ? If compiler can do that why can't some library ? thanks for any clue

  • How to extract a single function from a source file

    Hi, I'm working on a small academic research about extremely long and complicated functions in the Linux kernel. I'm trying to figure out if there is a good reason to write 600 or 800 lines-long functions. For that purpose, I would like to find a tool that can extract a function from a .c file, so I can run some automated tests on the function. For example, If I have the function cifs_parse_mount_options() within the file connect.c, I'm seeking a solution that would roughly work like: extract /fs/cifs/connect.c cifs_parse_mount_options and return the 523 lines of code(!) of the function, from the opening braces to the closing braces. Of course, any way of manipulating existing software packages like gcc to do that, would be most helpful too.   • Does DB2 OS/390 BLOB support .docx file

    ASP.net app inserts .docx fileinto a row on DB2 OS/390 Blob table. A different VB.net app gets the DB2 OS/390 Blob data. When Microsoft Word tries to open the .docx file Microsoft Word pops up a message that the data is corrupted. Word will fix the data so the file can be viewed. I've seen some examples where .docx can be converted to .doc but they only talk about stripping out the text. Some of our .docx have pictures in them. Any ideas?

  • Visual Studio 2008 compiles anything in C++ file?

    I noticed today that a source code file in a project was compiling even though it had junk at the top of it. It got me wondering what all would pass without error through the compiler. Here is an example of code that will not generate any error messages: what kind of weird behaviour is this??? #include "stdafx.h" // what is up? int foo(int bar) { bla bla bla????? return bar; } and more junk??? What in the world is the compiler doing to allow this code to compile without giving any error messages? I'm using Visual Studio 2008 and this is unmanaged C++ code. The foo function isn't actually generated in the object file so it can't be used but why no errors???

    Hi, I have an application where I am doing connection with .mdb file. Here are the steps we are following : Creating object for database utils inteface Calling the connect() function, to get connected to the database whose extension is .mdb file Above flow is working correct on all windows platform but not on windows server 2008 CORE 32-bit. I also checked whether the ODBC drivers are installed or not, by opening regedit. I found that all drivers specially Microsoft access driver (*.mdb) is installed. ANd I think it is by default get installed while installing OS. Is anyone aware of any thing about ODBC drivers and connectivity to the database (like .mdb) on windows 2008 CORE ( which runs only on command line and no interface)

    Hello, does anyone knows a file format for configuration files easy to read by humans? I want to have something like tag = value where value may be: String Number(int or float) Boolean(true/false) Array(of String values, Number values, Boolean values) Another structure(it will be more clear what I mean in the fallowing example) Now I use something like this: IntTag=1 FloatTag=1.1 StringTag="a string" BoolTag=true ArrayTag1=[1 2 3] ArrayTag2=[1.1 2.1 3.1] ArrayTag3=["str1" "str2" "str3"] StructTag= { NestedTag1=1 NestedTag2="str1" } and so on. Parsing is easy but for large files I find it hard to read/edit in text editors. I don't like xml for the same reason, it's hard to read. INI does not support nesting and I want to be able to nest tags. I also don't want a complicated format because I will use limited kind of values as I mentioned above. Thanks for any help.

  • Custom changeable handler when a Service finishes downloading a file

    I have a Service that downloads a file from the internet. What I want is for the response (an InputStream in this case) to be handled by a custom handler that can be switched (like a strategy pattern) but I can't figure out how to do this. So basically the User of the API would be able to plug in different handlers for the response, some would parse XML, others might save files etc. I realise I could pass through the activity context and execute the method from this (given some interface) but I don't want to do this obviously, in case the Activity is closed in the meantime while the file is still downloaded. How might I do this?

  • Cannot extend a class located in another file, PHP

    I am trying to set up a class with commonly used tasks, such as preparing strings for input into a database and creating a PDO object. I would like to include this file in other class files and extend those classes to use the common class' code. However, when I place the common class in its own file and include it in the class it will be used in, I receive an error that states the second class cannot be found. For example, if the class name is foo and it is extending bar (the common class, located elsewhere), the error says that foo cannot be found. But if I place the code for class bar in the same file as foo, it works.   • Socket left in TIME_WAIT after file transfer via netcat

    Using Copying by NetCat I am trying to copy files throught network by NetCat. From console it work pretty well. First I run listening netcat on the destination machine and after I run sending on source machine. The problem is it's doen't work from script from the source machine: ssh -f user@$desthost 'nc -l 1234 | tar xvf - /dev/null &' #listening on destination host tar cv /tmp/file | nc $desthost 1234 #sending to destination host I saw that after running port 1234 is still was open and status of the socket was TIME_WAIT. If you know what's the problem, please, help me out. And by the way, after copying how can I validate that the content is identical? Thanks! Addendum: I found one very strange thing, the same implementation with screen on destination work works, but not stable, sometimes it doesn't copy a file. ssh user@$desthost screen -dm -S test 'nc -l 1234 | tar xvf - ' #listening on destination host Maybe there is an issue with timeout?

But the same code without the pdf filename i.e var newwin=window.open("","Window1","menubar=no,width=430,height=360,toolbar=no"); opens up the popup window and show the print dialog box. Can anybody provide me a solution to this
