  I am using the d3.behavior.zoom to implement panning and zooming on a tree layout, but it is exhibiting a behavior I would describe as bouncing or numeric instability. When you start to drag, the display will inexplicably bounce left or right until it just disappears. • xmldocument and nested schemas

  Using c# and .net 3.5 I'm trying to validate an xml document against a schema that has includes. The schemas and there includes are as below Schema1.xsd - include another.xsd another.xsd - include base.xsd When i try to add the Schema1.xsd to the XmlDocument i get the following error. Type 'YesNoType' is not declared or is not a simple type. I believe i'm getting this error because the base.xsd file is not being included when i load the Schema1.xsd schema. I'm trying to use the XmlSchemaSet class and I'm setting the XmlResolver uri to the location of the schemas. • Adding a subview larger than cellHeight to a UITableViewCell?

  I'm trying to add a subview to a UITableViewCell and the design that I'm working from demands that this particular subview (an image) needs to be larger than the actual UITableViewCell and thus partly overlap its siblings. So I've set up my table cell, generated my image and added it to the cell's contentView: // rowHeight for the UITableView is 45.0f UIImage *image = [self createCellThumbnail: someImage]; UIImageView *thumbView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectMake(150, -5, 55,55)]; thumbView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(0.1f); thumbView.image = image; cell.clipsToBounds = NO; cell.contentView.clipsToBounds = NO; [cell.contentView addSubview: thumbView]; While the image will 'overflow' into the cell below it, the top of the image is always clipped, as demonstrated here: http://imgur.com/WDsAx . Does anyone know if what I'm trying to do is possible with the current approach or should I just figure out a way to draw these images onto the UITableView after all the cells are drawn (it's a non-scrollable tableview, so that would work and be fairly easy).

• local vs core contoller

  Hi, I am adding new column and action in the local admin app/code/local/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product/Grid.php which works fine, however. The local controller/app/code/local/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product.php is not being used or is not overloading the admin one /app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product.php. This is almost fresh install of Magento 1.4.0.1. I am the only one working, so i know it is not overloaded by some custom controller. I have disabled all custom modules. I have rolled back most of my changes. I have checked /etc/Modules/Mage_Catalog.xml. Refreshed cache all possible ways, loged in and out. Nothing....still using the core contoller copy. why? How do you troubleshoot, meaning, at what moment magento decides using between core or local copies? ...its even more strange because it does not parse local Adminhtml config.xml but uses local Adminthml copy of Blocks. Any pointer would help. I would like to keep everything in local code. Thank You, Margots

• J2EE and alternatives

  Hello, I am J2SE developer but I have rich web-background (php, perl/cgi and so on) and now I am starting new project. It will have web interface, spaghetti business logic, relational database as storage and connections to other services. I do it from the scratch. My colleagues told me to use spring, spring security and struts. I look briefly at J2EE spec and found that it covers almost all aspects of enterprise application. I asked my colleagues why do they need spring and struts, but looks like they use technologies simply because they are familiar with them and not familiar with classic J2EE stack. So, my question is: what is bad about J2EE? Why do I need spring if there are JNDI lookups? It will take a day or two to create fake InitialContext for unit-tests. And that is all: I stand with out of external tools like spring. Why do I need spring-security if there is a security built in Servlets spec? I can map any request to any servlet using web.xml, no struts.xml is needed. I can use servlet-filters instead of struts interceptors. There is RMI, so I do not need spring-remote. And so on.. Why should I bother my self with all that fancy stuff if there is J2EE? I really want to find situation when J2EE is not enough. Do you have any? Thanks!

  I'm trying to implement height map smoothing using Thrust. Let's say I have a big array ( around 1 million floats). A known graphics algorithm to implement the above problem is to calculate the average around a given cell. If for example I need to calculate the value at a given cell[i,j] what I will basically do is: cell[i,j] = cell[i-1,j-1] + cell[i-1,j] + cell[i-1,j+1] + cell[i,j-1] + cell[i,j+1] + cell[i+1,j -1] + cell[i+1,j] + cell[i+1,j+1] cell[i,j] /=9 That's the CPU code. Is there a way to implement it using thrust? I know that I could use the transform algorithm. But I'm not sure it's correct to access different cells which are occupied but different threads (banks conflicts and so on).

  I like to display textView when there are no items in the listView whereas the textView will not display when there are items in the listView. My problem is even there are items in the listView, the textView still will be displayed in a short time and then load the items into listView. So, how to make the TextView invisible when there are items in listView?   i am trying to flip a pentahex (5 hexagons joined at their sides). Is it possible to do so in Java? I mean suppose 2 of the 3 hexagons are in one quadrant can I change their quadrant? It is similar to what we do to flip images in Paint. The same utility I am trying to perform in Java. I have heard about Affine transform wherein it makes use of a bit called TYPE_FLIP, but I am not sure how to use it. Any small example would be of great help. Note: I do not want to flip images, but actual 2D objects.

• Problem with making a simple JS XmlHttpRequest call

  I have to create a very simple client that makes GET and POST calls to our server and parses the returned XML. I am writing this in JavaScript, problem is I don't know how to program in JS (started to look into this just this morning)! Stuff I googled suggested that this was a FF-specific problem so I switched to Chrome. Over there, the second alert comes up, but displays 0 as HTTP status code, which I found weird. Can anyone spot what the problem is? People say this stuff is easier to use with JQuery but learning that on top of JS syntax is a bit too much now.

• Ordering .each results in the view...

  I am wondering if it is possible to dictate the order (i.e. :order = 'created_at DESC') within the view. I realize that logic in the view is not ideal but I seem to be having some problems locating where to affect this output. • C#: HTTPWebResponse using application/x-www-form-urlencoded

  So I sent an HTTPWebRequest using application/x-www-form-urlencoded as my content type. I assume that this means the reponse will be returned in a similar type? (EDIT: Have now been told this isn't the case) My question is this. How do I access the different key/value pairs returned in the response. My code so far looks like this. I can of course read the string but surely there is a better way to access the data other than ripping the string apart.   I've got a very simple project in FlashBuilder 4.5. It's a mobile application of type ViewNavigatorApplication with a single view, MapView. In the MapView.mxml file, I've got a Flex component of type Map declared in xml. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <s:View xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" name="CatBusMapView"> <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ import com.esri.ags.Map; .... ]]> </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> .... </fx:Declarations> <esri:Map id="cbm"> ... </esri:Map> </s:View> In this same project, I've an actionscript class called UserGeolocation. In this class, I'm attempting to get a reference to this map component. So far, I can get a reference to the top-level application, its ViewNavigator and the NavigationStack of said ViewNavigator. However, I cannot find a way to access the MapView, much less the map I've declared within it. I'm aware of methods like firstView() and activeView(), but I want an absolute solution, one that retrieves the view regardless of whether or not it's first or active. I've tried navigator.getChildByName("MapView") with no luck.

Currently my ant builds the war as follows... <target name="war" depends="jar"> <war destfile="${deploy}/file.war" webxml="${web-inf}/web.xml"> <fileset dir="${WebRoot}"> <include name="**/*.vm" /> <include name="**/*.js" /> <include name="**/*.jsp" /> <include name="**/*.html" /> <include name="**/*.css" /> <include name="**/*.gif" /> <include name="**/*.jpg" /> <include name="**/*.png" /> <include name="**/*.tld" /> <include name="**/applicationContext*.xml" /> <include name="**/jpivot/**" /> <include name="**/wcf/**" /> <include name="**/platform/**" /> <include name="**/Reports/**" /> </fileset> <lib dir="${web-inf.lib}" /> </war> </target> The file I need is called Scriptlet.class and it needs to be in WebRoot/WEB-INF/classes/ I've tried several things to get this to work and have yet to find one that works... if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!
