  • Is it possible to implement a lightweight database using Blackberry Persistance options?

    First I would like to explain why I want to use alternate Blackberry Persistance options rather than a Blackberry database itself, say SQLite. The reason is that the application i'm designing, I want it to be used in all the previous versions of Blackberry rather than just the ones having OS 5.0 or greater. Now, coming back to the actual question, I have got a database that I want to replicate to be used in the Blackberry application. The database has 8 tables and each table has approximately 12 different columns. One of the table has 1000 rows. Now if I was to implement this DB for a Blackberry application , keeping in mind that it will work on all the versions of Blackberry, what would be the best way to implement it?

Everything works perfect, but it's impossible to save edited document, because nodes are left in [ManagedObjectContext deletedObjcets]. It gives error on save. How to clean them up? Babut

    I'm implementing Bagwell's Ideal Hash Trie in Haskell. To find an element in a sub-trie, he says to do the following: Finding the arc for a symbol s, requires ?nding its corresponding bit in the bit map and then counting the one bits below it in the map to compute an index into the ordered sub-trie. What is the best way to do this? It sounds like the most straightforward way of doing this is to select the bits below that bit and do a population count on the resulting number. Is there a faster or better way to do this?

  • How to normalize SVG path data (cross browser)?

    I have tried to find a way to implement cross browser path normalizer. There IS a native way which is described here and functional example is here, but it works only in newest Opera (but not in IE, FF, Safari, Chrome). The native way uses pathElm.normalizedPathSegList and it converts all relative coordinates to absolute ones and represents all path segment types as a following subset of types: M,L,C,z. I have found only one javascript code and jsfiddled functional example of it, but it works only in IE and FF. Chrome gives "Uncaught Error: INDEX_SIZE_ERR: DOM Exception 1". How this could be fixed to work also in Opera, Safari and Chrome or is there any other way for normalizing SVG paths?

    When I first start one of my Wordpress blogs, I had the permanent URL for each post include the date of posting. The slug format looked like this: /blog/2010/01/25/this-is-my-article/ Later on, I changed it so that the date was not included in the permanent URL, like this: /blog/this-is-my-article/ and setup a redirect plugin to make sure that users would get to the page they wanted until the site was re-indexed. In Google Analytics, when I review the stats for content I now have multiple records for what is essentially the same page. ie: Top Content List: 45 Pageviews- /blog/this-is-my-article/ 24 Pageviews- /blog/2010/01/25/this-is-my-article/ 33 Pageviews- /blog/some-other-article/ Is there any way to combine those records somehow?

    Hello.I have a page "index.php" where i have a link called "add_users.php".In "add_users.php",i accept user information and come back to the same page "index.php" where information comes through post action and gets inserted into the database.When i refresh the page orhit back button,resend box appears.I went through many solution where they asked me to create third page.I tried doing that as follows:After inserting values in database,I redirected ht page as header('Location:http://mysite.com/thankyou.php, and in thankyou.php I again redirected the page to index.php.But getting warning as Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by.... provide me a better solution.     I am calling SetTimer in a function of a Class. SetTimer(NULL, 0, 10000, (TIMERPROC) TimerCallBack); Where TimerCallBack is: static VOID CALLBACK TimerCallBack(HWND, UINT, UINT, DWORD) Now my need is to call one of the method of class which initiated timer, since TimerCallBack is static it has no access to the class object anymore. I cant find any way to pass object pointer along with the SetTimer so that I can receive it back on Callback function. Is there any other way to achieve this, if its not supported using SetTimer then which other way I can implement this.

  • Using unions to simplify casts

    I realize that what I am trying to do isn't safe. But I am just doing some testing and image processing so my focus here is on speed. Right now this code gives me the corresponding bytes for a 32-bit pixel value type. struct Pixel { unsigned char b,g,r,a; }; I wanted to check if I have a pixel that is under a certain value (e.g. r, g, b <= 0x10). I figured I wanted to just conditional-test the bit-and of the bits of the pixel with 0x00E0E0E0 (I could have wrong endianness here) to get the dark pixels. Rather than using this ugly mess (*((uint32_t*)&pixel)) to get the 32-bit unsigned int value, i figured there should be a way for me to set it up so I can just use pixel.i, while keeping the ability to reference the green byte using pixel.g. Can I do this? This won't work: struct Pixel { unsigned char b,g,r,a; }; union Pixel_u { Pixel p; uint32_t bits; }; I would need to edit my existing code to say pixel.p.g to get the green color byte. Same happens if I do this: union Pixel { unsigned char c[4]; uint32_t bits; }; This would work too but I still need to change everything to index into c, which is a bit ugly but I can make it work with a macro if i really needed to.

  • Net::HTTP Gives time out but browser visit returns data

    I tried the following Net::HTTP.get_print URI.parse(URI.encode('https://graph.facebook.com/me/likes?access_token=mytoken', '|')) (My Token is my actual token in code) I get a EOFError: end of file reached error If I visit the page with my browswer it loads up a JSON page. Any idea what could be causing the error? It was working a few days ago. Can't see any changes to facebook api.
