  • Getting RGB values for each pixel from a 24bpp Bitmap in C

    - by seven
    Hello, i want to read the RGB values for each pixel from a .bmp file , so i can convert the bmp into a format suitable for gba . so i need to get just the RGB for each pixel and then write this information to a file. i am trying to use the windows.h structures : typedef struct { char signature[2]; unsigned int fileSize; unsigned int reserved; unsigned int offset; }BmpHeader; typedef struct { unsigned int headerSize; unsigned int width; unsigned int height; unsigned short planeCount; unsigned short bitDepth; unsigned int compression; unsigned int compressedImageSize; unsigned int horizontalResolution; unsigned int verticalResolution; unsigned int numColors; unsigned int importantColors; }BmpImageInfo; typedef struct { unsigned char blue; unsigned char green; unsigned char red; unsigned char reserved; }Rgb; typedef struct { BmpHeader header; BmpImageInfo info; Rgb colors[256]; unsigned short image[1]; }BmpFile; but i only need RGB struct. So lets say i read "in.bmp": FILE *inFile, *outFile; inFile = fopen("C://in.bmp", "rb"); Rgb Palette[256]; for(i=0;i<256;i++) { fread(&Palette[i],sizeof(Rgb),1,inFile); } fclose(inFile); is this correct ? how do i write only the RGB information to a file ? can anyone please give me some information please . Thank you.

    - by user1058153
    What i am trying to show here is that I am trying to pass the data in Activity A to Activity B. Activity A mainly there are 3 textbox for me to key in something then a button to go to Activity B(Confirmation Page) and in Activity B, i am able to show what i have keyed in Activity A. I am new to Android, so can someone guide me through this? In Activity A @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activitya); Textview01 = (EditText) this.findViewById(R.id.txtView1); Textview02 = (EditText) this.findViewById(R.id.txtView2); Textview03 = (EditText) this.findViewById(R.id.txtView3); mButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button); mButton.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { Intent i = new Intent(ActivityA.this, ActivityB.class); i.putExtra("Textview01", txtView1.getText().toString()); i.putExtra("Textview02", txtView2.getText().toString()); i.putExtra("Textview03", txtView3.getText().toString()); startActivity(i); In Activity B. @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.confirmbooking); TextView txtPickup = (TextView) this.findViewById(R.id.txtPickup); TextView txtLocation = (TextView) this.findViewById(R.id.txtLocation); TextView txtDestination = (TextView) this.findViewById(R.id.txtDestination); txtLocation.setText(getIntent().getStringExtra("Location")); txtPickup.setText(getIntent().getStringExtra("Pick Up Point")); txtDestination.setText(getIntent().getStringExtra("Destination")); In my Activity B XML <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="txtView01:" /> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/txtView01"></TextView> <TextView android:id="@+id/TextView02" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="txtView02:"></TextView> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/txtView02"></TextView> <TextView android:id="@+id/TextView02" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="txtView03:"></TextView> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/txtView03"></TextView> <Button android:id="@+id/btnButton" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:text="Book now" /> </LinearLayout> Can someone tell me if this is correct?   • How to listen for file system changes MAC - kFSEventStreamCreateFlagWatchRoot

    - by Cocoa Newbie
    Hi All, I am listening for Directory and disk changes in a COCOA project using FSEvents. I need to get events when a root folder is renamed or deleted. So, I passed kFSEventStreamCreateFlagWatchRoot while creating the FSEventStream.But even if I delete or rename the root folder I am not getting corresponding FSEventStreamEventFlags. Any idea what could possibly be the issue. I am listening for changes in a USB mounted device. I used both FSEventStreamCreate and FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice. One thing I notices is when I try with FSEventStreamCreate I get the following error message while creating FSEventStream: (CarbonCore.framework) FSEventStreamCreate: watch_all_parents: error trying to add kqueue for fd 7 (/Volumes/NO NAME; Operation not supported) But with FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice there are no errors but still not getting kFSEventStreamEventFlagRootChanged in event flags. Also, while creation using FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice apple say's if I want to listen to root path changes pass emty string "". But I am not able to listen to root path changes by passing empty string. But when I pass "/" it works. But even for "/" I do not get any proper FSEventStreamEventFlags. I am pasting the code here: -(void) subscribeFileSystemChanges:(NSString*) path { PRINT_FUNCTION_BEGIN; // if already subscribed then unsubscribe if (stream) { FSEventStreamStop(stream); FSEventStreamInvalidate(stream); /* will remove from runloop */ FSEventStreamRelease(stream); } FSEventStreamContext cntxt = {0}; cntxt.info = self; CFArrayRef pathsToWatch = CFArrayCreate(NULL, (const void**)&path, 1, NULL); stream = FSEventStreamCreate(NULL, &feCallback, &cntxt, pathsToWatch, kFSEventStreamEventIdSinceNow, 1, kFSEventStreamCreateFlagWatchRoot ); FSEventStreamScheduleWithRunLoop(stream, CFRunLoopGetCurrent(), kCFRunLoopDefaultMode); FSEventStreamStart(stream); } call back function: static void feCallback(ConstFSEventStreamRef streamRef, void* pClientCallBackInfo, size_t numEvents, void* pEventPaths, const FSEventStreamEventFlags eventFlags[], const FSEventStreamEventId eventIds[]) {? char** ppPaths = (char**)pEventPaths; int i; for (i = 0; i < numEvents; i++) { NSLog(@"Event Flags %lu Event Id %llu", eventFlags[i], eventIds[i]); NSLog(@"Path changed: %@", [NSString stringWithUTF8String:ppPaths[i]]); } } Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Configuring a Context specific Tomcat Security Realm

    - by Andy Mc
    I am trying to get a context specific security Realm in Tomcat 6.0, but when I start Tomcat I get the following error: 09-Dec-2010 16:12:40 org.apache.catalina.startup.ContextConfig validateSecurityRoles INFO: WARNING: Security role name myrole used in an <auth-constraint> without being defined in a <security-role> I have created the following context.xml file: <Context debug="0" reloadable="true"> <Resource name="MyUserDatabase" type="org.apache.catalina.UserDatabase" description="User database that can be updated and saved" factory="org.apache.catalina.users.MemoryUserDatabaseFactory" pathname="conf/my-users.xml" /> <Realm className="org.apache.catalina.realm.UserDatabaseRealm" resourceName="MyUserDatabase"/> </Context> Created a file: my-users.xml which I have placed under WEB-INF/conf which contains the following: <tomcat-users> <role rolename="myrole"/> <user username="test" password="changeit" roles="myrole" /> </tomcat-users> Added the following lines to my web.xml file: <web-app ...> ... <security-constraint> <web-resource-collection> <web-resource-name>Entire Application</web-resource-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </web-resource-collection> <auth-constraint> <role-name>myrole</role-name> </auth-constraint> </security-constraint> <login-config> <auth-method>BASIC</auth-method> </login-config> ... </web-app> But seem to get the error wherever I put conf/my-users.xml. Do I have to specify an explicit PATH in the pathname or is it relative to somewhere? Ideally I would like to have it packaged up as part of my WAR file. Any ideas?

  • How do I debug a difficult-to-reproduce crash with no useful call stack?

    - by David M
    I am encountering an odd crash in our software and I'm having a lot of trouble debugging it, and so I am seeking SO's advice on how to tackle it. The crash is an access violation reading a NULL pointer: First chance exception at $00CF0041. Exception class $C0000005 with message 'access violation at 0x00cf0041: read of address 0x00000000'. It only happens 'sometimes' - I haven't managed to figure out any rhyme or reason, yet, for when - and only in the main thread. When it occurs, the call stack contains one incorrect entry: For the main thread, which this is, it should show a large stack full of other items. At this point, all other threads are inactive (mostly sitting in WaitForSingleObject or a similar function.) I have only seen this crash occur in the main thread. It always has the same call stack of one entry, in the same method at the same address. This method may or may not be related - we do use the VCL in our application. My bet, though, is that something (possibly quite a while ago) is corrupting the stack, and the address where it's crashing is effectively random. Note it has been the same address across several builds, though - it's probably not truly random. Here is what I've tried: Trying to reproduce it reliably at a certain point. I have found nothing that reproduces it every time, and a couple of things that occasionally do, or do not, for no apparent reason. These are not 'narrow' enough actions to narrow it down to a particular section of code. It may be timing related, but at the point the IDE breaks in, other threads are usually doing nothing. I can't rule out a threading problem, but think it's unlikely. Building with extra debugging statements (extra debug info, extra asserts, etc.) After doing so, the crash never occurs. Building with Codeguard enabled. After doing so, the crash never occurs and Codeguard shows no errors. My questions: 1. How do I find what code caused the crash? How do I do the equivalent of walking back up the stack? 2. What general advice do you have for how to trace the cause of this crash? I am using Embarcadero RAD Studio 2010 (the project mostly contains C++ Builder code and small amounts of Delphi.)

  • How can I make this client as a multithread client?

    - by Johanna
    Hi, I have read a lot about multithread client but for this one,I can not make it multithread! would you please help me? public class MainClient implements Runnable{ private static InformationClass info = new InformationClass(); private static Socket c; private static String text; public static String getText() { return text; } public static void setText(String text) { MainClient.text = text; } private static PrintWriter os; private static BufferedReader is; static boolean closed = false; /** * @param args the command line arguments */ public static void main(String[] args) { MainFrame farme = new MainFrame(); farme.setVisible(true); try { c = new Socket("localhost", 5050); os = new PrintWriter(c.getOutputStream(), true); is = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(c.getInputStream())); } catch (UnknownHostException ex) { Logger.getLogger(MainClient.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } catch (IOException ex) { Logger.getLogger(MainClient.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } } public static void active() { String teXt = MainClient.getText(); System.out.println(teXt); os.println(teXt); try { String line = is.readLine(); System.out.println("Text received: " + line); os.flush(); is.close(); is.close(); c.close(); } catch (IOException ex) { Logger.getLogger(MainClient.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } } } also active method will be called when the client write something on the text area and then clicks on the send button. 2) also i have a question that: in the other class I have this action performed for my send button,does it mean that client is multithread?? private void jButton1ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) { new Thread(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { // This gets run in a background thread String text = jTextArea1.getText(); jTextArea2.append(client.getCurrentName() + " : " + text + "\n"); MainClient.setText(client.getCurrentName() + " : " + text + "\n"); clear(); MainClient.active(); } }).start(); } Last EDIT: this is my active method: public static void active() { String teXt = MainClient.getText(); os.println(teXt); String line = is.readLine(); System.out.println("Text received: " + line); os.flush(); is.close(); is.close(); c.close(); }

  • mounting ext4 fs with block size of 65536

    - by seaquest
    I am doing some benchmarking on EXT4 performance on Compact Flash media. I have created an ext4 fs with block size of 65536. however I can not mount it on ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386. • Generating custom-form documents from base-form plus XML?

    - by KlaymenDK
    Hi all, this is my first stack overflow, and it's a complex one. Sorry. My task is to generate custom documents from a basic template plus some XML without having a custom form design element for each case. Here's the whole picture: We are building a Lotus Notes (client, not web) application for world-wide application access control; the scope is something like 400.000 users being able to request access to any of 1000+ applications. Each application needs its own request form -- different number of approvers, various info required, that sort of thing. We simply can't have a thousand forms in a database (one per application), and anyway their maintenance really needs to be pushed from the developers to the application owners. So instead of custom forms, we'd like to create a generic "template" form that stores a block of basic fields, but then allows application owners to define another block of fields dynamically -- "I want a mandatory plain-text field named 'Name' here, and then a date field named 'Due' here that must be later than today's date, and then ...". I hope this makes sense (if not, think of it as a generic questionnaire application). I pretty much have the structure in place for designing the dynamic fields (form builder GUI - XML-encoded data - pre-rendered DXL for injecting into a form), including mark-up for field types, value options, and rudimentary field validation instructions. My problem is generating a document with this dynamic content injected at the proper location (without needing a custom form design element for each case). Doing the dynamic content via HTML is out. The Notes client web rendering is simply way too poor, and it would be quite a challenge to implement things like field validation instructions, date selectors, and name look-ups. DXL, on the other hand, would allow us to use native Notes fields and code. As a tech demo, I've managed to implement a custom form generator that injects the pre-rendered DXL for the dynamic content into a base form; but as I said, we don't want a ton of custom form design elements. I've tried to implement a way to create a document with the "store form in document" flag set, but once I've created the document from the base form, I can't get DXL access to the stored form design, and so I can't inject my dynamic content. I know this is not something Notes was ever intended to do. Has anyone ever tried something like it (and gotten away with it)? Thanks for reading this far. With a boatload of thanks in advance, Jan Gundtofte-Bruun

  • Looking for Reachability (2.0) Use Case Validation

    - by user350243
    There is so much info out there on using Apple's Reachability example, and so much is conflicting. I'm trying to find out of I'm using it (Reachability 2.0) correctly below. My App use case is this: If an internet connection is available through any means (wifi, LAN, Edge, 3G, etc.) a UIButton ("See More") is visible on various views. If no connection, the button is not visible. The "See More" part is NOT critical in any way to the app, it's just an add-on feature. "See More" could be visible or not anytime during the application lifecycle as connection is established or lost. Here's how I did it - Is this correct and/or is there a better way? Any help is Greatly Appreciated! lq // AppDelegate.h #import "RootViewController.h" @class Reachability; @interface AppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { UIWindow *window; UINavigationController *navigationController; RootViewController *rootViewController; Reachability* hostReach; // NOT USED: Reachability* internetReach; // NOT USED: Reachability* wifiReach; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWindow *window; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UINavigationController *navigationController; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet RootViewController *rootViewController; @end // AppDelegate.m #import "AppDelegate.h" #import "Reachability.h" #define kHostName @"www.somewebsite.com" @implementation AppDelegate @synthesize window; @synthesize navigationController; @synthesize rootViewController; - (void) updateInterfaceWithReachability: (Reachability*) curReach { if(curReach == hostReach) { NetworkStatus netStatus = [curReach currentReachabilityStatus]; BOOL connectionRequired = [curReach connectionRequired]; // Set a Reachability BOOL value flag in rootViewController // to be referenced when opening various views if ((netStatus != ReachableViaWiFi) && (netStatus != ReachableViaWWAN)) { rootViewController.bConnection = (BOOL *)0; } else { rootViewController.bConnection = (BOOL *)1; } } } - (void) reachabilityChanged: (NSNotification* )note { Reachability* curReach = [note object]; NSParameterAssert([curReach isKindOfClass: [Reachability class]]); [self updateInterfaceWithReachability: curReach]; } - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { // NOTE: #DEFINE in Reachability.h: // #define kReachabilityChangedNotification @"kNetworkReachabilityChangedNotification" [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver: self selector: @selector(reachabilityChanged:) name: kReachabilityChangedNotification object: nil]; hostReach = [[Reachability reachabilityWithHostName: kHostName] retain]; [hostReach startNotifer]; [self updateInterfaceWithReachability: hostReach]; [window addSubview:[navigationController view]]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } - (void)dealloc { [navigationController release]; [rootViewController release]; [window release]; [super dealloc]; } @end

  • union marshalling issue in C#

    - by senthil
    I have union inside structure and the structure looks like struct tDeviceProperty { DWORD Tag; DWORD Size; union _DP value; }; typedef union _DP { short int i; LONG l; ULONG ul; float flt; double dbl; BOOL b; double at; FILETIME ft; LPSTR lpszA; LPWSTR lpszW; LARGE_INTEGER li; struct tBinary bin; BYTE reserved[40]; } __UDP; struct tBinary { ULONG size; BYTE * bin; }; from the tBinary structure bin has to be converted to tImage (structure is given below) struct tImage { DWORD x; DWORD y; DWORD z; DWORD Resolution; DWORD type; DWORD ID; diccid_t SourceID; const void *buffer; const char *Info; const char *UserImageID; }; to use the same in c# I have done marshaling but not giving proper values when converting the pointer to structure. The C# code is follows, tBinary tBin = new tBinary(); IntPtr tBinbuffer = Marshal.AllocCoTaskMem(Marshal.SizeOf(tBin)); Marshal.StructureToPtr(tBin.bin, tBinbuffer, false); tDeviceProperty tDevice = new tDeviceProperty(); tDevice.bin = tBinbuffer; IntPtr tDevicebuffer = Marshal.AllocCoTaskMem(Marshal.SizeOf(tDevice)); Marshal.StructureToPtr(tDevice.bin, tDevicebuffer, false); Battary tbatt = new Battary(); tbatt.value = tDevicebuffer; IntPtr tbattbuffer = Marshal.AllocCoTaskMem(Marshal.SizeOf(tbatt)); Marshal.StructureToPtr(tbatt.value, tbattbuffer, false); result = GetDeviceProperty(ref tbattbuffer); Battary v = (Battary)Marshal.PtrToStructure(tbattbuffer, typeof(Battary)); tDeviceProperty v2 = (tDeviceProperty)Marshal.PtrToStructure(tDevicebuffer, typeof(tDeviceProperty)); tBinary v3 = (tBinary)Marshal.PtrToStructure(tBinbuffer, typeof(tBinary));

  • jQuery: modify href attribute for first level list only

    - by bloggerious
    I'm a noob in jQuery and have stuck at this. I have the following HTML code output from a PHP page: <ul class="cats"> <li><span><a href="cant_post_link_yet1">Lifestyle</a></span></li> <li><span><a href="cant_post_link_yet2">Entertainment</a></span></li> <li class="has_child"> <span><a href="cant_post_link_yet3">Technology</a></span> <ul class="subcats"> <li><span><a href="cant_post_link_yet4">Gadgets</a></span></li> <li><span><a href="cant_post_link_yet5">Hardware</a></span></li> </ul> </li> <li><span><a href="cant_post_link_yetsports">Sports</a></span></li> <li class="has_child"> <span><a href="cant_post_link_yet6">Design</a></span> <ul class="subcats"> <li class="has_child"> <span><a href="cant_post_link_yet7">Web Design</a></span> <ul class="subcat"> <li><span><a href="cant_post_link_yet8">Adobe Photoshop</a></span></li> </ul> </li> <li><span><a href="cant_post_link_yet9">Graphics and Print</a></span></li> </ul> </li> What's the correct jQuery code so that I can modify the href attribute for the first-level list only? Basically, I want to change the href of Technology and Design to be "#" but will not change the href of Web Design which is already on second-level list. More Info: In the code above, if list has subcategories, then it has the class has_child, whether it's on first-level or not. So I want only the first-level list which has class has_child to be modified the href to "#" I can't alter output anymore because it's in the PHP code. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    In my app, I have a table view. When the user clicks a button, a UIView overlays part of that table view. It's essentially a partial modal. That table view is intentionally still scrollable while that modal is active. To allow the user to scroll to the bottom of the table view, I change the contentInset and scrollIndicatorInsets values to adjust for the smaller area above the modal. When the modal is taken away, I reset those inset values. The problem is that when the user has scrolled to the bottom of the newly adjusted inset and then dismisses the modal, the table view jumps abruptly to a new scroll position because the inset is changed instantly. I would like to animate it so there is a transition, but the beginAnimation/commitAnimations methods aren't affecting it for some reason. Edit: More info. I found the conflict. When presenting the modal, I also hide the navigation bar. The navigation bar natively animates the table view up and down as it shows and hides. When I stop animating the navigation bar, the inset animation works fine. Does anyone know what I can do to work around this conflict? Do I have to wait for the navigation bar animation to finish before adjusting the inset? If so, how to I hook onto that? Any help is greatly appreciated! The relevant code from the table view controller is here: - (void)viewDidLoad { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(modalOpened) name:@"ModalStartedOpening" object:nil]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(modalDismissed) name:@"ModalStartedClosing" object:nil]; [super viewDidLoad]; } - (void)modalOpened { [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; self.tableView.contentInset = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 201, 0); self.tableView.scrollIndicatorInsets = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 201, 0); [UIView commitAnimations]; } - (void)modalDismissed { [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; self.tableView.contentInset = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 0, 0); self.tableView.scrollIndicatorInsets = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 0, 0); [UIView commitAnimations]; }

  • xerces-c: Xml parsing multiple files

    - by user459811
    I'm atempting to learn xerces-c and was following this tutorial online. http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/XML-Xerces-C.html I was able to get the tutorial to compile and run through a memory checker (valgrind) with no problems however when I made alterations to the program slightly, the memory checker returned some potential leak bytes. I only added a few extra lines to main to allow the program to read two files instead of one. int main() { string configFile="sample.xml"; // stat file. Get ambigious segfault otherwise. GetConfig appConfig; appConfig.readConfigFile(configFile); cout << "Application option A=" << appConfig.getOptionA() << endl; cout << "Application option B=" << appConfig.getOptionB() << endl; // Added code configFile = "sample1.xml"; appConfig.readConfigFile(configFile); cout << "Application option A=" << appConfig.getOptionA() << endl; cout << "Application option B=" << appConfig.getOptionB() << endl; return 0; } I was wondering why is it when I added the extra lines of code to read in another xml file, it would result in the following output? ==776== Using Valgrind-3.6.0 and LibVEX; rerun with -h for copyright info ==776== Command: ./a.out ==776== Application option A=10 Application option B=24 Application option A=30 Application option B=40 ==776== ==776== HEAP SUMMARY: ==776== in use at exit: 6 bytes in 2 blocks ==776== total heap usage: 4,031 allocs, 4,029 frees, 1,092,045 bytes allocated ==776== ==776== 3 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 1 of 2 ==776== at 0x4C28B8C: operator new(unsigned long) (vg_replace_malloc.c:261) ==776== by 0x5225E9B: xercesc_3_1::MemoryManagerImpl::allocate(unsigned long) (MemoryManagerImpl.cpp:40) ==776== by 0x53006C8: xercesc_3_1::IconvGNULCPTranscoder::transcode(unsigned short const*, xercesc_3_1::MemoryManager*) (IconvGNUTransService.cpp:751) ==776== by 0x4038E7: GetConfig::readConfigFile(std::string&) (in /home/bonniehan/workspace/test/a.out) ==776== by 0x403B13: main (in /home/bonniehan/workspace/test/a.out) ==776== ==776== 3 bytes in 1 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 2 of 2 ==776== at 0x4C28B8C: operator new(unsigned long) (vg_replace_malloc.c:261) ==776== by 0x5225E9B: xercesc_3_1::MemoryManagerImpl::allocate(unsigned long) (MemoryManagerImpl.cpp:40) ==776== by 0x53006C8: xercesc_3_1::IconvGNULCPTranscoder::transcode(unsigned short const*, xercesc_3_1::MemoryManager*) (IconvGNUTransService.cpp:751) ==776== by 0x40393F: GetConfig::readConfigFile(std::string&) (in /home/bonniehan/workspace/test/a.out) ==776== by 0x403B13: main (in /home/bonniehan/workspace/test/a.out) ==776== ==776== LEAK SUMMARY: ==776== definitely lost: 6 bytes in 2 blocks ==776== indirectly lost: 0 bytes in 0 blocks ==776== possibly lost: 0 bytes in 0 blocks ==776== still reachable: 0 bytes in 0 blocks ==776== suppressed: 0 bytes in 0 blocks ==776== ==776== For counts of detected and suppressed errors, rerun with: -v ==776== ERROR SUMMARY: 2 errors from 2 contexts (suppressed: 2 from 2)

  • Javascript and the Google Maps API

    - by Tiny Giant Studios
    Hiya coding Ninja's I'm in a spot of bother and my hairline is on the chopping block. When I integrated the maps API on this site, ritaknoetze.com, everything worked perfectly. However, copying that exact code for a different demo website, scarabpaper, the map doesn't show up at all? Could someone show me the ropes on what I'm doing wrong? Here's the code I got from Google itself that I modified for my WordPress theme/installation: JavaScript: <meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function initialize() { var myLatlng = new google.maps.LatLng(-34.009839, 22.78101); var myOptions = { zoom: 9, center: myLatlng, navigationControl: true, mapTypeControl: false, scaleControl: false, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP } var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions); var image = '<?php bloginfo('template_url')?>/assets/googlemaps_marker.png'; var myLatLng = new google.maps.LatLng(-34.009839, 22.78101); var beachMarker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: myLatLng, map: map, icon: image }); } </script> My HTML where the javascript goes: <div class="contact_container"> <div id="map_canvas"></div> <div class="clearfloat"></div> </div> My CSS for the affected divs #map_canvas { width: 880px; height: 300px; margin-left: 10px; margin-bottom: 30px; margin-top: 10px; float: left; border: 1px solid #dedcdc;} .contact_container { /*container for ALL the contact info*/ background-color: #fff; border: 1px solid #dedcdc; width: 900px; margin-top: 30px; padding: 20px; padding-bottom: 0;} Any Help would be greatly appreciated...

  • How to display specific data from a file

    - by user1067332
    My program is supposed to ask the user for firstname, lastname, and phone number till the users stops. Then when to display it asks for the first name and does a search in the text file to find all info with the same first name and display lastname and phones of the matches. import java.util.*; import java.io.*; import java.util.Scanner; public class WritePhoneList { public static void main(String[] args)throws IOException { BufferedWriter output = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(new File( "PhoneFile.txt"), true)); String name, lname, age; int pos,choice; try { do { Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.print("Enter First name, last name, and phone number "); name = input.nextLine(); output.write(name); output.newLine(); System.out.print("Would you like to add another? yes(1)/no(2)"); choice = input.nextInt(); }while(choice == 1); output.close(); } catch(Exception e) { System.out.println("Message: " + e); } } } Here is the display code, when i search for a name, it finds a match but displays the last name and phone number of the same name 3 times, I want it to display all of the possible matches with the first name. import java.util.*; import java.io.*; import java.util.Scanner; public class DisplaySelectedNumbers { public static void main(String[] args)throws IOException { String name; String strLine; try { FileInputStream fstream = new FileInputStream("PhoneFile.txt"); // Get the object of DataInputStream DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream(fstream); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in)); Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in); System.out.print("Enter a first name"); name = input.nextLine(); strLine= br.readLine(); String[] line = strLine.split(" "); String part1 = line[0]; String part2 = line[1]; String part3 = line[2]; //Read File Line By Line while ((strLine= br.readLine()) != null) { if(name.equals(part1)) { // Print the content on the console System.out.print("\n" + part2 + " " + part3); } } }catch (Exception e) {//Catch exception if any System.out.println("Error: " + e.getMessage()); } } }

  • user defined Copy ctor, and copy-ctors further down the chain - compiler bug ? programmers brainbug

    - by J.Colmsee
    Hi. i have a little problem, and I am not sure if it's a compiler bug, or stupidity on my side. I have this struct : struct BulletFXData { int time_next_fx_counter; int next_fx_steps; Particle particles[2];//this is the interesting one ParticleManager::ParticleId particle_id[2]; }; The member "Particle particles[2]" has a self-made kind of smart-ptr in it (resource-counted texture-class). this smart-pointer has a default constructor, that initializes to the ptr to 0 (but that is not important) I also have another struct, containing the BulletFXData struct : struct BulletFX { BulletFXData data; BulletFXRenderFunPtr render_fun_ptr; BulletFXUpdateFunPtr update_fun_ptr; BulletFXExplosionFunPtr explode_fun_ptr; BulletFXLifetimeOverFunPtr lifetime_over_fun_ptr; BulletFX( BulletFXData data, BulletFXRenderFunPtr render_fun_ptr, BulletFXUpdateFunPtr update_fun_ptr, BulletFXExplosionFunPtr explode_fun_ptr, BulletFXLifetimeOverFunPtr lifetime_over_fun_ptr) :data(data), render_fun_ptr(render_fun_ptr), update_fun_ptr(update_fun_ptr), explode_fun_ptr(explode_fun_ptr), lifetime_over_fun_ptr(lifetime_over_fun_ptr) { } /* //USER DEFINED copy-ctor. if it's defined things go crazy BulletFX(const BulletFX& rhs) :data(data),//this line of code seems to do a plain memory-copy without calling the right ctors render_fun_ptr(render_fun_ptr), update_fun_ptr(update_fun_ptr), explode_fun_ptr(explode_fun_ptr), lifetime_over_fun_ptr(lifetime_over_fun_ptr) { } */ }; If i use the user-defined copy-ctor my smart-pointer class goes crazy, and it seems that calling the CopyCtor / assignment operator aren't called as they should. So - does this all make sense ? it seems as if my own copy-ctor of struct BulletFX should do exactly what the compiler-generated would, but it seems to forget to call the right constructors down the chain. compiler bug ? me being stupid ? Sorry about the big code, some small example could have illustrated too. but often you guys ask for the real code, so well - here it is :D EDIT : more info : typedef ParticleId unsigned int; Particle has no user defined copyctor, but has a member of type : Particle { .... Resource<Texture> tex_res; ... } Resource is a smart-pointer class, and has all ctor's defined (also asignment operator) and it seems that Resource is copied bitwise. EDIT : henrik solved it... data(data) is stupid of course ! it should of course be rhs.data !!! sorry for huge amount of code, with a very little bug in it !!! (Guess you shouldn't code at 1 in the morning :D )

  • Why does the following Java Script fail to load XML?

    - by Pavitar
    I have taken an example taught to us in class,wherein a javascript is used to retrieve data from the XML,but it doesn't work.Please help I have also added the XML file below. <html> <head> <title>Customer Info</title> <script language="javascript"> var xmlDoc = 0; var xmlObj = 0; function loadCustomers(){ xmlDoc = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM"); xmlDoc.async = "false"; xmlDoc.onreadystatechange = displayCustomers; xmlDoc.load("customers.xml"); } function displayCustomers(){ if(xmlDoc.readyState == 4){ xmlObj = xmlDoc.documentElement; var len = xmlObj.childNodes.length; for(i = 0; i < len; i++){ var nodeElement = xmlObj.childNodes[i]; document.write(nodeElement.attributes[0].value); for(j = 0; j < nodeElement.childNodes.length; j++){ document.write(" " + nodeElement.childNodes[j].firstChild.nodeValue); } document.write("<br/>"); } } } </script> </head> <body> <form> <input type="button" value="Load XML" onClick="loadCustomers()"> </form> </body> </html> XML(customers.xml) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <customers> <customer custid="CU101"> <pwd>PW101</pwd> <email>[email protected]</email> </customer> <customer custid="CU102"> <pwd>PW102</pwd> <email>[email protected]</email> </customer> <customer custid="CU103"> <pwd>PW103</pwd> <email>[email protected]</email> </customer> <customer custid="CU104"> <pwd>PW104</pwd> <email>[email protected]</email> </customer> </customers>

  • What is causing this SQL 2005 Primary Key Deadlock between two real-time bulk upserts?

    - by skimania
    Here's the scenario: I've got a table called MarketDataCurrent (MDC) that has live updating stock prices. I've got one process called 'LiveFeed' which reads prices streaming from the wire, queues up inserts, and uses a 'bulk upload to temp table then insert/update to MDC table.' (BulkUpsert) I've got another process which then reads this data, computes other data, and then saves the results back into the same table, using a similar BulkUpsert stored proc. Thirdly, there are a multitude of users running a C# Gui polling the MDC table and reading updates from it. Now, during the day when the data is changing rapidly, things run pretty smoothly, but then, after market hours, we've recently started seeing an increasing number of Deadlock exceptions coming out of the database, nowadays we see 10-20 a day. The imporant thing to note here is that these happen when the values are NOT changing. Here's all the relevant info: Table Def: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[MarketDataCurrent]( [MDID] [int] NOT NULL, [LastUpdate] [datetime] NOT NULL, [Value] [float] NOT NULL, [Source] [varchar](20) NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_MarketDataCurrent] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [MDID] ASC )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY] ) ON [PRIMARY] - stackoverflow wont let me post images until my reputation goes up to 10, so i'll add them as soon as you bump me up, hopefully as a result of this question. ![alt text][1] [1]: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4049/4690759452_6b94ff7b34.jpg I've got a Sql Profiler Trace Running, catching the deadlocks, and here's what all the graphs look like. stackoverflow wont let me post images until my reputation goes up to 10, so i'll add them as soon as you bump me up, hopefully as a result of this question. ![alt text][2] [2]: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/4690125231_78d84c9e15_b.jpg Process 258 is called the following 'BulkUpsert' stored proc, repeatedly, while 73 is calling the next one: ALTER proc [dbo].[MarketDataCurrent_BulkUpload] @updateTime datetime, @source varchar(10) as begin transaction update c with (rowlock) set LastUpdate = getdate(), Value = t.Value, Source = @source from MarketDataCurrent c INNER JOIN #MDTUP t ON c.MDID = t.mdid where c.lastUpdate < @updateTime and c.mdid not in (select mdid from MarketData where LiveFeedTicker is not null and PriceSource like 'LiveFeed.%') and c.value <> t.value insert into MarketDataCurrent with (rowlock) select MDID, getdate(), Value, @source from #MDTUP where mdid not in (select mdid from MarketDataCurrent with (nolock)) and mdid not in (select mdid from MarketData where LiveFeedTicker is not null and PriceSource like 'LiveFeed.%') commit And the other one: ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[MarketDataCurrent_LiveFeedUpload] AS begin transaction -- Update existing mdid UPDATE c WITH (ROWLOCK) SET LastUpdate = t.LastUpdate, Value = t.Value, Source = t.Source FROM MarketDataCurrent c INNER JOIN #TEMPTABLE2 t ON c.MDID = t.mdid; -- Insert new MDID INSERT INTO MarketDataCurrent with (ROWLOCK) SELECT * FROM #TEMPTABLE2 WHERE MDID NOT IN (SELECT MDID FROM MarketDataCurrent with (NOLOCK)) -- Clean up the temp table DELETE #TEMPTABLE2 commit To clarify, those Temp Tables are being created by the C# code on the same connection and are populated using the C# SqlBulkCopy class. To me it looks like it's deadlocking on the PK of the table, so I tried removing that PK and switching to a Unique Constraint instead but that increased the number of deadlocks 10-fold. I'm totally lost as to what to do about this situation and am open to just about any suggestion. HELP!!

  • Best way to run remote VBScript in ASP.net? WMI or PsExec?

    - by envinyater
    I am doing some research to find out the best and most efficient method for this. I will need to execute remote scripts on a number of Window Servers/Computers (while we are building them). I have a web application that is going to automate this task, I currently have my prototype working to use PsExec to execute remote scripts. This requires PsExec to be installed on the system. A colleague suggested I should use WMI for this. I did some research in WMI and I couldn't find what I'm looking for. I want to either upload the script to the server and execute it and read the results, or already have the script on the server and execute it and read the results. I would prefer the first option though! Which is more ideal, PsExec or WMI? For reference, this is my prototype PsExec code. This script is only executing a small script to get the Windows OS and Service Pack Info. Protected Sub windowsScript(ByVal COMPUTERNAME As String) ' Create an array to store VBScript results Dim winVariables(2) As String nameLabel.Text = Name.Text ' Use PsExec to execute remote scripts Dim Proc As New System.Diagnostics.Process ' Run PsExec locally Proc.StartInfo = New ProcessStartInfo("C:\Windows\psexec.exe") ' Pass in following arguments to PsExec Proc.StartInfo.Arguments = COMPUTERNAME & " -s cmd /C c:\systemInfo.vbs" Proc.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = True Proc.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = True Proc.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False Proc.Start() ' Pause for script to run System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(1500) Proc.Close() System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(2500) 'Allows the system a chance to finish with the process. • What would you suggest as a high school first language?

    - by ldigas
    Edit by OA: After reading some answers I'll just update the question a little. At first I put it a little bluntly, but some of those gave me some good arguments which have to be taken into consideration while making a stand on this one. (these are mostly picked up from comments and answers below). A few things to take into account: to many pupils this is a first programming language - at this stage most of them have trouble grasping a difference between data types, variable passing, ... and whatnot, less alone pointers and similar 'low level stuff' :) they will all have to pass this to get into next grade (well, big majority of them anyway) not all of them have computers at home, not all of them are willing to learn this, less alone interested in - so the concepts have to be taught on a finite time scale in school hours (as well as practice on computers) free literature is a bonus - the teacher will make some scripts and handaways, but still ... I wouldn't like to bear the parents with the burden of buying expensive literature (also, english is not a native language here ... and although they are all learning it, their ability to read it fluently is somewhat questionable) somebody gave an argument - "a language which does not get in the way of ideas" - good one accessibility on different platforms in not expecially important at this point - although most of the suggested ones are available on win as well as linux - not many macs in this part of europe (their prices are sky high for anything but specialised usage) I will check what are the licencing issues on ms express editions about using it massively in high schools for purposes like this - if someone has any info about this, please, do not be shy with it :) A friend of mine, informatics teacher - in EU it comes as something as junior cs teacher, in a local high school asked me what I thought about what should be the first language pupils should be taught? It is a technical school (a little more oriented towards mathematics than the gymnasium, but not computer oriented totally). So I'm asking you - what do you think should be the first language pupils are exposed to in highschool? They have been teaching Pascal so far, but she's not sure that's a good course. She thought about switching to C (which I resented; considering not all pupils have interests in programming, to start with, and should be taught something higher level since they are just gripping the idea of a loop and such ... for a start), I suggested python or ruby (preferably py since it handles all paradigms). What is your opinion on this one? I looked, but didn't find a similar question on SO, so if there is one, please just point me towards it. Edit: The assumption is that none of the pupils have been exposed to any programming in junior school. See also: What is the best way to teach young kids some basic programming concepts? • Neo4j 1.9.4 (REST Server,CYPHER) performance issue

    - by user2968943
    I have Neo4j 1.9.4 installed on 24 core 24Gb ram (centos) machine and for most queries CPU usage spikes goes to 200% with only few concurrent requests. Domain: some sort of social application where few types of nodes(profiles) with 3-30 text/array properties and 36 relationship types with at least 3 properties. Most of nodes currently has ~300-500 relationships. Current data set footprint(from console): LogicalLogSize=4294907 (32MB) ArrayStoreSize=1675520 (12MB) NodeStoreSize=1342170 (10MB) PropertyStoreSize=1739548 (13MB) RelationshipStoreSize=6395202 (48MB) StringStoreSize=1478400 (11MB) which is IMHO really small. most queries looks like this one(with more or less WITH .. MATCH .. statements and few queries with variable length relations but the often fast): START targetUser=node({id}), currentUser=node({current}) MATCH targetUser-[contact:InContactsRelation]->n, n-[:InLocationRelation]->l, n-[:InCategoryRelation]->c WITH currentUser, targetUser,n, l,c, contact.fav is not null as inFavorites MATCH n<-[followers?:InContactsRelation]-() WITH currentUser, targetUser,n, l,c,inFavorites, COUNT(followers) as numFollowers RETURN id(n) as id, n.name? as name, n.title? as title, n._class as _class, n.avatar? as avatar, n.avatar_type? as avatar_type, l.name as location__name, c.name as category__name, true as isInContacts, inFavorites as isInFavorites, numFollowers it runs in ~1s-3s(for first run) and ~1s-70ms (for consecutive and it depends on query) and there is about 5-10 queries runs for each impression. Another interesting behavior is when i try run query from console(neo4j) on my local machine many consecutive times(just press ctrl+enter for few seconds) it has almost constant execution time but when i do it on server it goes slower exponentially and i guess it somehow related with my problem. Problem: So my problem is that neo4j is very CPU greedy(for 24 core machine its may be not an issue but its obviously overkill for small project). First time i used AWS EC2 m1.large instance but over all performance was bad, during testing, CPU always was over 100%. Some relevant parts of configuration: neostore.nodestore.db.mapped_memory=1280M wrapper.java.maxmemory=8192 note: I already tried configuration where all memory related parameters where HIGH and it didn't worked(no change at all). Question: Where to digg? configuration? scheme? queries? what i'm doing wrong? if need more info(logs, configs) just ask ;)

  • Problem on a Floyd-Warshall implementation using c++

    - by Henrique
    I've got a assignment for my college, already implemented Dijkstra and Bellman-Ford sucessfully, but i'm on trouble on this one. Everything looks fine, but it's not giving me the correct answer. Here's the code: void FloydWarshall() { //Also assume that n is the number of vertices and edgeCost(i,i) = 0 int path[500][500]; /* A 2-dimensional matrix. At each step in the algorithm, path[i][j] is the shortest path from i to j using intermediate vertices (1..k-1). Each path[i][j] is initialized to edgeCost(i,j) or infinity if there is no edge between i and j. */ for(int i = 0 ; i <= nvertices ; i++) for(int j = 0 ; j <= nvertices ; j++) path[i][j] = INFINITY; for(int j = 0 ; j < narestas ; j++) //narestas = number of edges { path[arestas[j]->v1][arestas[j]->v2] = arestas[j]->peso; //peso = weight of the edge (aresta = edge) path[arestas[j]->v2][arestas[j]->v1] = arestas[j]->peso; } for(int i = 0 ; i <= nvertices ; i++) //path(i, i) = 0 path[i][i] = 0; //test print, it's working fine //printf("\n\n\nResultado FloydWarshall:\n"); //for(int i = 1 ; i <= nvertices ; i++) // printf("distancia ao vertice %d: %d\n", i, path[1][i]); //heres the problem, it messes up, and even a edge who costs 4, and the minimum is 4, it prints 2. //for k = 1 to n for(int k = 1 ; k <= nvertices ; k++) //for i = 1 to n for(int i = 1 ; i <= nvertices ; i++) //for j := 1 to n for(int j = 1 ; j <= nvertices ; j++) if(path[i][j] > path[i][k] + path[k][j]) path[i][j] = path[i][k] + path[k][j]; printf("\n\n\nResultado FloydWarshall:\n"); for(int i = 1 ; i <= nvertices ; i++) printf("distancia ao vertice %d: %d\n", i, path[1][i]); } im using this graph example i've made: 6 7 1 2 4 1 5 1 2 3 1 2 5 2 5 6 3 6 4 6 3 4 2 means we have 6 vertices (1 to 6), and 7 edges (1,2) with weight 4... etc.. If anyone need more info, i'm up to giving it, just tired of looking at this code and not finding an error.

  • Curl Wrapper Class does not return any data even though it worked previously?

    - by Scott Faisal
    We changed servers and installed all necessary software and just cannot seem to pin point what is going on. A simple CURL request does not return anything. Command Line CURL commands work just fine. We are using a wrapper for CURL utilizing streams. Do PHP streams require any out of the ordinary configuration? We are using the latest Lamp stack. • Calculating rotation and translation matrices between two odometry positions for monocular linear triangulation

    - by user1298891
    Recently I've been trying to implement a system to identify and triangulate the 3D position of an object in a robotic system. The general outline of the process goes as follows: Identify the object using SURF matching, from a set of "training" images to the actual live feed from the camera Move/rotate the robot a certain amount Identify the object using SURF again in this new view Now I have: a set of corresponding 2D points (same object from the two different views), two odometry locations (position + orientation), and camera intrinsics (focal length, principal point, etc.) since it's been calibrated beforehand, so I should be able to create the 2 projection matrices and triangulate using a basic linear triangulation method as in Hartley & Zissermann's book Multiple View Geometry, pg. 312. Solve the AX = 0 equation for each of the corresponding 2D points, then take the average In practice, the triangulation only works when there's almost no change in rotation; if the robot even rotates a slight bit while moving (due to e.g. wheel slippage) then the estimate is way off. This also applies for simulation. Since I can only post two hyperlinks, here's a link to a page with images from the simulation (on the map, the red square is simulated robot position and orientation, and the yellow square is estimated position of the object using linear triangulation.) So you can see that the estimate is thrown way off even by a little rotation, as in Position 2 on that page (that was 15 degrees; if I rotate it any more then the estimate is completely off the map), even in a simulated environment where a perfect calibration matrix is known. In a real environment when I actually move around with the robot, it's worse. There aren't any problems with obtaining point correspondences, nor with actually solving the AX = 0 equation once I compute the A matrix, so I figure it probably has to do with how I'm setting up the two camera projection matrices, specifically how I'm calculating the translation and rotation matrices from the position/orientation info I have relative to the world frame. How I'm doing that right now is: Rotation matrix is composed by creating a 1x3 matrix [0, (change in orientation angle), 0] and then converting that to a 3x3 one using OpenCV's Rodrigues function Translation matrix is composed by rotating the two points (start angle) degrees and then subtracting the final position from the initial position, in order to get the robot's straight and lateral movement relative to its starting orientation Which results in the first projection matrix being K [I | 0] and the second being K [R | T], with R and T calculated as described above. Is there anything I'm doing really wrong here? Or could it possibly be some other problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
