  • REST API unauthenticated requests exception based on the User-Agent

    Hi All, I am developing a REST API that supports two kinds of authentication protocols: login form authentication - for browser based clients. Simple Basic authentication - for non-browser clients. I developed a flow in which unauthenticated requests redirected to the "login form", the problem is that this is an undesired behavior for non-borwser clients! I thought to solve it by decide according to the "User-Agent" what to do: browsers will be redirected to the "login form" and non-browser clients will get the standard 401:Basic Authentication. A. What do you think about this solution? B. Is there a standard way in Java to check if the request came from browser, or do i need to develop this kind of mechanism by my own? Thanks in advance!

  • Wireless barcode scanner

    Hi All, I have 2 wireless barcode scanners. I have created an application in C# which reads a barcode and sends data to a web service which then manipulates the data and do further processing. When I start aplication, it first tries to connect to web service and will proceed further only if connection succeded. The problem I am facing is, if I deploy the application through visual studio then it works fine and connects to web service. But if I just copy the contents (exe and config files) manually, then it gives error that unknown host name. Can someone please help me to understand how this connection works? Does it needs some special settings in scanner device which visual studio does automatically while deployment? Thanks and Cheers.

  • What could cause "Connection Interrupted" on LocalHost when debugging in ASP.NET

    I'm trying to run a freshly created ASP.NET Website using C#, however when I do so it launches FireFox and attempts to connect to http://localhost:1295/WebSite1/Default.aspx (for example), but after about 10-15 seconds it displays a "Connection Interrupted - The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." Error. This issue is also present with older ASP.NET C# pages/Web Services I've built in the past, nothing is actually running off the ASP.NET Development server. I am using: Windows XP Pro SP2, Visual Studio 2008 For reference I have SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition installed as well. I have tried: Browsing it with IE instead of Mozilla Trying 2.0 framework instead of 3.5 Reinstalling Visual Studio 2008 This problem seems so trivial the more I think about it, but I havn't been able to work it out just yet! Appreciate any help on the matter.

  • Architectural decision : QT or Eclipse Platform ?

    We are in the process of designing a tool to be used with HDEM(High Definition Electron Microscope).We get stacks of 2D images from HDEM and first step is 'detecting borders' on the sections.After detecting edges of 2D slices ,next step is construct the 3D model using these 2D slices. This 'border detecting' algorithm(s) is/are implemented by one of professor and he has used and suggests to use C.(to gain high performance and probably will parallelise in future) We have to develop comprehensive UI ,3D viewer ,2D editor...etc and use this algorithm. Application should support usual features like project save/open.Undo,Redo...etc Our technology decisions are: A) Build entire platform from the scratch using QT. B) Use Eclipse Platform Our concerns are, if we choose A) we can easily integrate the 'border detecting' algorithm(s) because the development environment is C/C++ But we have to implement the basic features from the scratch. If we choose B) we get basic features from the Eclipse platform , but integrating C libraries going to be a tedious task. Any suggestions on this?

  • OpenGL extensions available on different Android devices

    I'm in the process of writing an OpenGL ES powered framework for my next Android game(s). Currently I'm supporting three different techniques of drawing sprites: the basic way: using vertex arrays (slow) using vertex-buffer-objects (VBOs) (faster) using the draw_texture extension (fastest, but only for basic sprites, i.e. no transforming) Vertex arrays are supported in OpenGL ES 1.0 and thus in every Android-device. I'm guessing most (if not all) of the current devices also support VBOs and draw_texture. Instead of guessing, I'd like to know the extensions supported by different devices. If majority of devices support VBOs, I could simplify my code and focus only on VBOs + draw_texture. It'd be helpful to know what different devices support, so if you have an Android-device, do report the extensions list please. :) String extensions = gl.glGetString(GL10.GL_EXTENSIONS); I've got a HTC Hero, so I can share those extensions next.

  • Design Code Outside of an IDE (C#)?

    Does anyone design code outside of an IDE? I think that code design is great and all but the only place I find myself actually design code (besides in my head) is in the IDE itself. I generally think about it a little before hand but when I go to type it out, it is always in the IDE; no UML or anything like that. Now I think having UML of your code is really good because you are able to see a lot more of the code on one screen however the issue I have is that once I type it in UML, I then have to type the actual code and that is just a big duplicate for me. For those who work with C# and design code outside of Visual Studio (or at least outside Visual Studio's text editor), what tools do you use? Do those tools allow you to convert your design to actual skeleton code? It is also possible to convert code to the design (when you update the code and need an updated UML diagram or whatnot)?

Now that I have a better understanding of the different frameworks, I have a very simple question: With a basic understanding, but very limited experience with writing tests with rails' built in testing framework (basic assertions), would it be okay for me to jump directly to testing with RSpec, Webrat, and Cucumber?     I have a website (not a web application- in visual studio you get two options-create a website/project) running on IIS 6.0. Now I want to develop few features in MVC architecture. So I created one MVC application in visual studio and everything is working fine on localhost as a separate application. Now I want to host this MVC app also inside the website I have already deployed. I created a virtual directory(MVCDir) inside the default website in IIS 6.0.     I'm trying to make an windows application within Netbeans. When using Visual studio it is no problem to use files like tchar.h I have receaved a basic file structure containing those and I'm trying to get them to work on Netbeans IDE but it seems that Netbeans won't allow using files from Visual Studio. I have tried to add the tchar.h file and all other file it required (including some C++ core files) and commenting the errors written in those care files: #error ERROR: Use of C runtime library internal header file. But netbenas can't find the tchar.h file while being in same folder...

  • Silverlight Pixel Shader resource "not found"; what should the URI be?

    So I've written and compiled an HLSL pixel shader with Shazzam, placed the resulting .ps file in my project, and am trying to instantiate it. No matter what URI I put, Blend tells me that the resource can't be found whenever I try to view any xaml designer, and Visual Studio just shows me a blank page, both in design view and if I try to run the application. This is a Silverlight 4 SketchFlow project, in Blend 4 RC and Visual Studio 2010. I've tried both Resource and EmbeddedResource as the Build Action for the .ps file, neither make any difference (I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be set to Resource). I've tried the following URI formats: "ShaderFileName.ps" "/ShaderFileName.ps" "AssemblyName;component/ShaderFileName.ps" "/AssemblyName;component/ShaderFileName.ps" I also tried moving the shader file from the Screens assembly to the root assembly (that's how SketchFlow projects are created) and that didn't help either. Anyone have any thoughts?

  • Flipping issue when interpolating Rotations using Quaternions

    I use slerp to interpolate between two quaternions representing rotations. The resulting rotation is then extracted as Euler angles to be fed into a graphics lib. This kind of works, but I have the following problem; when rotating around two (one works just fine) axes in the direction of the green arrow as shown in the left frame here the rotation soon jumps around to rotate from the opposite site to the opposite visual direction, as indicated by the red arrow in the right frame. This may be logical from a mathematical perspective (although not to me), but it is undesired. How could I achieve an interpolation with no visual flipping and changing of directions when rotating around more than one axis, following the green arrow at all times until the interpolation is complete?     Hello all, I have three weeks to perform the following basic task. I wish to create an online form in PHP that will get 5 numbers and with them: save the numbers to a MySQL DB do a simple computation on the numbers and return them as an output to the visitor I already have a domain, hosting and a MySQL database+user. I don't know PHP, or SQL or databases. I do have prior knowledge in C and R (which means I have some of the basics of programming, and I am not intimidated of a new languages). My question are: Am I missing something? is there some other skill I should have for this task that I don't know of? What is a good way to learn the skills needed for the task I described? However, I also need to provide application accounts access to the repository. These accounts are in a different OU. Do I need to add a whole new <location> element, or can I add a second AuthLDAPURLto the existing entry?

    I have a MVC web application with a table in the model that I would like to add to. I have the primary key set along with the other data fields, but every time I try to add to the table, I get the following error: "Cannot insert explicit value for identity column in table 'TABLE_NAME' when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to OFF." I'm not sure why this problem is coming up, I have the primary key set as the identity and it is also set to auto increment in the Visual Studio table designer. Is there any way I can adjust the IDENTITY_INSERT parameter in the table designer in Visual Studio?? Or is there some other issue that might be causing this.

    Hello, I have followed the basic GWT tutorial for creating a project in Eclipse. Now, I am trying to build off what I learned in the tutorial. I created a static utility class to perform some database connection logic. However, when I try to compile I get: [ERROR] Line 46: No source code is available for type com.sample.server.ConnectionUtil; did you forget to inherit a required module? Where can I put simple classes that I've created on my own? Do they have to be outside the package structure of the basic module, 'com.sample'? Or do I have to specify a whole new module in the gwt.xml file and inherit from that? There has to be something simple I'm missing.

    Ok, so I have my basic linked Queue class with basic functions such as front(), empty() etc.. and I have transformed it into a template. Now, I also have a class called Student. Which holds 2 values: Student name and Student Id. I can print out a student with the following code.. Student me("My Name", 2); cout << me << endl; Here is my display function for student: void display(ostream &out) const { out << "Student Name: " << name << "\tStudent Id: " << id << "\tAddress: " << this << endl; } Now it works fine, you can see the basic output. Now I'm declaring a queue like so.. Queue<Student> qstu; Storing data in this queue is fine, I can add new values and such.. now what I'm trying to do is print out my whole queue of students with: cout << qstu << endl; But its simply returning an address.. here is my display function for queues. void display(ostream & out) const { NodePointer ptr; ptr = myFront; while(ptr != NULL) { out << ptr->data << " "; ptr = ptr->next; } out << endl; } Now, based on this, I assume ptr-data is a Student type and I would assume this would work, but it doesn't. Is there something I'm missing? Also, when I Try: ptr->data.display(out); (Making the assumtion ptr-data is of type student, it does not work which tells me I am doing something wrong. Help on this would be much appreciated!

Error 6 Argument 2 must be passed with the 'ref' keyword C:\Dev\Learning\SQLite.cs Line: 2492 Column: 64 I can make the compile errors go away by replacing the "out" keyword with the "ref" keyword, but that is likely to lead to other issues.   • How to mutate rows of data frame - replacing one value with another

    I'm having trouble with what I think is a basic R task. Here's my sample dataframe named 'b' Winner Color Size Tom Yellow Med Jerry Yellow Lar Jane Blue Med where items in the Winner column are factors. I'm trying to change "Tom" in the dataframe to "Tom LLC" and I can't get it done. Here's what I tried: Simple way: b$winner[b$winner=='Tom'] = as.factor('Tom LLC') but that failed with "invalid factor level, NAs generated" Next I tried a more advanced route: name_reset = function (x, y, z) { if (x$winner == y) {x$winner = z} } b = adply(b,1,name_reset,'Tom','Tom LLC') but that failed with "Error in list_to_dataframe(res, attr(.data, "split_labels")) : Results are not equal lengths" I feel I'm missing something basic.     I'm building an NSPredicateEditor, and I want the ability to do advanced date comparison. I realize that I can build an NSPredicateEditorRowTemplate with a rightExpressionType of NSDateAttributeType, but the predicates I want to build need to be much more advanced than that. For example, I need to basic comparison like: dateKeypath < aDate dateKeypath <= aDate dateKeypath = aDate dateKeypath != aDate dateKeypath > aDate dateKeypath >= aDate These basic comparisons are quite easy to achieve, and I have these working. However, I also need to do comparisons like: dateKeypath isInTheLast n days (or weeks, months, years) dateKeypath isNotInTheLast n days (or weeks, months, years) dateKeypath between aDate and anotherDate How can I achieve these sorts of comparisons? I understand that I'll need to create a custom NSPredicateEditorRowTemplate, but I haven't found any clear documentation on how to achieve something like this. EDIT Bonus points are available for also knowing how to make these comparisons a full date-time (year-month-day-hour-minute-second) comparison (as NSDateAttributeType only has year-month-day granularity).

  • Eclipse Class File Metadata

    In Visual Studio, I can obtain a succinct list of public methods/members exposed in a class for which I do not have the source (i.e. bundled inside a DLL) by pressing F12 (GoToDefinition). Similarly, I am learning the Android API - in Eclipse. Jumping to an Android framework method definition produces decompilation output which is not intuitive to read, and is very verbose. To mimic results like Visual Studio, I am considering several options: How can I format the decompilation output to be 'cleaner' - I have looked through Eclipse's preferences menus and have not found a way to do this. How do I 'add corresponding source files' once Google provides it, so that jumping to definition yields the actual definition? Is there a plugin that does this already? I looked into Jadclipse, but that project has not been updated in several years, and is still a decompiler. Thank you in advance.

  • How do I convert a windows forms app from C# to VB ?

    I've been converting all kinds of other things, classes, interfaces, ASP.NET MVC apps, and WPF applications, but I am stumped as to how to convert a windows forms application, as the whole structure seems to be different. Does anyone have any advice on how to tackle this problem? I see essentially that you have two files, Form1.cs and Form1.Designer.cs. Literally translating them from C# to VB doesn't work because of some intricacies or other of how Visual Basic works. I think you /might/ be able to convert Form1.cs in this way, as it's just a constructor plus event handlers, but the designer contains the references to the controls etc. and I am not sure how to go about doing that.
