• Why is Wine not installable on my system?

  So I upgraded on a fresh install to Ubuntu 12.10, not beta, and I've tried installing wine many many times now many different ways but the jist of it is this: This error could be caused by required additional software packages which are missing or not installable. Furthermore there could be a conflict between software packages which are not allowed to be installed at the same time. The following packages have unmet dependencies: wine: Any ideas? It won't let me install the dependencies either it says it needs another set of dependencies to install them -_- im on asus kj50 64bit os dual boot with windows 7 sudo apt-get install wine1.5 Reading package lists... • Existent js libs for tileset / map loading and rendering?

  I'm building an rts style overhead tileset game with JavaScript (particularly using Ember.js framework as a base). The map is so large that I'd very much like to be able to load and render the board and layered items in a Google Maps'esque. I'm curious as to whether there are existing libs that would be helpful and already well thought out in these regards vs trying to reinvent the wheel. Are there any such libraries or code examples that would be useful in this area of board / map management?

• NSMutableURLRequest returns null on real device, while returning image on simulator

  I was testing my app that I've been working on for past 2 months. Basically it requests for JSON, that contains info about items. One field of JSON file is image_url. When I want to display this image, I need to download it from another server, that needs additional credentials. My problem is, that right now, I get 3 items. All 3 have image on same server. I can get two of them with this code no problem. However third one is problematic, I always get (NULL) imageLoad. On my simulator, everything works fine, I get all 3 pictures. On real device I get error. I tried to NSURLConnection with error and response so I could debug better. This is what I got in my error. • 3D Box Collision Data Import

  I'm trying to implement a collision system using oriented bounding boxes, using a center for the box, it's extents as a 3D Vector and a rotation matrix, which is all stuff I picked up online and seem to be somewhat the standard. Detecting the center is no problem so I'm gonna leave these out here. My problem however is importing the data from a 3D file. Say I've placed a box with 2 units length on each side aligned to the world axis. The logic results here are extents of 1,1,1 and I use an identity matrix for rotation - easy. However I'm stuck when I rotate the box in the 3D program, say 30 degrees each axis. How would I parse the box? I only have these 8 vertices as information, and I guess what I would need to do is to find out the rotation of said box, apply it to the vertices so they are aligned to world axes and then calculate the extents out of that. How do I get the rotation of the box when I only have the vertex information of the box available?

• OOMK kills mysql and apache when there is still a lot[?] of mem

  let me first say that I'm pretty new ti *nix systems and even more to server management. Anyway, I've got a little problem. I got VPS with 1gb mem, system is debian 6. I have few sites running on it, though some load can only be caused by one of them. Recently, OOMK started to kill mysql, causing wp and phpbb giving error that it can't connect to mysql server. Error itself is not good, especially if it happens at night and site becomes unavailable until I wake up and restart mysql. I have probably bad line in my cron which can be cause of it all (again, I'm new to it) */20 * * * * sync; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches Well, if you need any information, let me know, since I don't really know which information can be useful here. Also, I'd like to know if it's not too bad to have above cron task.

• Is there a way to get a shared spreadsheet to update without closing and reopening?

  Using Excel 2010, I have a spreadsheet that is used by 3 different people at any one time. But if one person has the spreadsheet open on there PC the other people can only view it as read only. I have since shared the workbook and put the spreadsheet on a shared network drive and now they can all view the spreadsheet at the same time and edit it at the same time. The problem is that nobody can see the changes that the other users have made unless the close out of the spreadsheet and open it up again to view the changes. I have checked the settings of the shared workbook and on the advanced tab have tick the option that updates the information every 5 minutes but the information does not update until you close out and open the spreadsheet back up again. How can I fix this problem?

  Good day, I am looking for a wiki system which we are going to use at work for a form of product support. We manufacture multiple devices and now i want to make a wiki which contains all sorts of relevant and helpful information on that product which the users can look at before trying to contact us for support? Now immediately the 1st option that comes to my mind in Media wiki but I dont just want to jump on the band wagon. I thought I would ask around first. It should preferable be free. But obviously if its really worth paying for then thats not the end of the world. And the uploading of content and media is not of much importance as the end users will simply be reading the information which the company has published. Another nice to have but is not critical is if it where to run on asp.net as we have Microsoft server running anyway.

I have found some information regarding the existence of a "Windows 8 pro system builder" which will allow clean installs in blank disks without any pre-requisites for prior Windows versions, but all information is very vague and without references. • UCS Documentation: Home1 or Home2? You Decide.

  How you go about finding information can be a very personal affair. We each have our own style of locating content, we each have our particular bent. But when it comes to getting started finding technical information, sometimes the simplest ways are best, especially if you are relatively new to a product or technology, and you just need to get going quickly with that Installation Guide or those Release Notes. With that in mind, I recently created an alternative home page for the Unified Communications Suite documentation. You can now have your Home2, in addition to the original, more wiki-fied Home1. I would recommend Home2 for those who are used to, and are more comfortable with, the spreadsheet-like view of manuals: here you'll find those familiar titles and the option to either view on the wiki or download the equivalent PDF file. Once you get familiar with what guides are available for the UCS component products, then move on to the Home1 layout, and start using some of the more advanced techniques for finding content in a wiki. Either way, you should be able to locate the "thing" you are looking for.

The two search terms I have seen suggested so far are SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION and HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED. Both of them are quite generic terms. While it’s nice not to have to look at a blue screen full of text, the previous BSoD was more informative than the Windows 8 BSoD, since it contained a detailed error code (information for diagnostic purposes that was collected as the operating system performed a bug check), which could get you closer to tracking down the root of the problem.
