  • use variable within a linq query

    take this linq into consideration: list.Where(sil => sil.XML.Element("ticket") != null && sil.XML.Element("ticket").Attribute("id").Value == smsRequestIn.TicketID) if the "ticket" element is not null it searches for it twice and hence is not very effective. Is there a way to use some sort of variables within the linq expression so I can reference the variable instead of doing a double search for the "ticket" element or is linq intelligent enough to not do a double search?

    Given a class like this: class B class << self attr_accessor :var end end Suppose I can't modify the original source code of class B. How might I go about removing the setter on the class variable var? I've tried using something like B.send("unset_method", "var="), but that doesn't work (nor does remove_method, or overwriting that method with a var= method that doesn't do anything). Any ideas?

    I find myself using hash arguments to constructors quite a bit, especially when writing DSLs for configuration or other bits of API that the end user will be exposed to. What I end up doing is something like the following: class Example PROPERTIES = [:name, :age] PROPERTIES.each { |p| attr_reader p } def initialize(args) PROPERTIES.each do |p| self.instance_variable_set "@#{p}", args[p] if not args[p].nil? end end end Is there no more idiomatic way to achieve this? The throw-away constant and the symbol to string conversion seem particularly egregious.

  • Do you know why introducing jquery ui autocomplete for my dropdown boxes is also changing my listbox

  • [iphone] UIControlEventTouchDragEnter doesn't seem to work for catching a tap that slides into a con

    I wanted to allow for a method to get called, if a finger was dragged from outside into the bounds of a control. I thought UIControlEventTouchDragEnter would do it, but it doesn't seem to. Does anyone know if there is a way to trigger an action based on a tap sliding into a control? If I add 1 pixel to the width of the doublePage contentSize.width it scrolls, but a bit hard, so it scrolls first in the doublePage and then in the main.

Ideally I'd like to be able to have multiple, separate and distinct projects that only come together on the production/test machines. I should be able to build and test each "area" separately.

    Hi there, I have a program that needs to use sleep. Like really needs to. In lieu of spending ages explaining why, suffice to say that it needs it. Now I'm told to split off my code into a separate thread if it requires sleep so I don't lose interface responsiveness, so I've started learning how to use NSThread. I've created a brand new program that is conceptual so to solve the issue for this example will help me in my real program. Short story is I have a class, it has instance variables and I need a loop with a sleep to be depended on the value of that instance variable.   • NuGet Update Error?

    Using the NuGet package manager dialog at the solution level in the normal course of updating a package reference once the process is complete there is a green tick on the item and the update button disappears. However, with certain of my packages the update process completes, as far as I can tell successfully, but no green tick and the update button remains. Press it again and the next dialog shows that no projects require an update for that package. Am I missing something here or is this a bug?

ThreadA: Collection.iterator ThreadA: Collection.moveNext ThreadB: Collection.iterator ThreadB: Collection.moveNext Will threadB see the first element? Is the iterator always reset when it is requested? What happens if this is interleaved so movenext and item is interleaved? Is there a danger that you dont process all elements??
