    I've noticed a lot of examples for iPhone apps in the Application Delegate - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application have [window addSubview: someController.view]; (1) as opposed to self.window.rootViewController = self.someController; (2) Is there any practical reason to use one over the other? Is one technically correct? Do controller's have the an equivalent command to number (2) like self.someController.rootController = self.someOtherController; // pseudocode

  • Display CFUserNotification on iPhone lock screen

    I am developing an iPhone app that need to display some message on lock screen. I have tried to use local notification or CFUserNotification but neither of them can display the message on top of the lock screen. For CFUserNotification I have tried kCFUserNotificationAlertTopMostKey (refer this similar question) but it still not work. I am not going to hook springboard since my phone is not jailbreak. I have found an app do implement it and I have tested on my none-jailbreak iPhone iOS 6.0, don't know how to implement this. Any help much appreciated.

  • Issue with Running Android Program on Eclipse

    I downloaded complete Android Environment Development Environment Snapshots from marakana.com. I start eclipse and create new Android project. On the Run Configurations, i created New Configuration to run the application, and set the Target to Automatic and select the AVD that appropriate to run the application. But, when i click on the run icon, it starts the new emulator, and after some minutes, just android emulator be ran and my application doesn't run on it. What do i do to solve the running problem and run my project on emulator ?   • Deployment a web-site on IIS from another program

    Hi, I developed a web-site on ASP.NET 3.5 SP1 platform. And additional I have 2 win services. My task is to build install package. I decided that Visual Studio install projects are not met my requirements. I design my own installer for this project, because I need to resolve many question and problem in install process. My problem: I need to deploy web-site into IIS, but I don't know how to do it easy. I found Microsoft tool as Web Deployment Tool, but I didn't find any documentation. And must I include this tool into my installer for deployment at destination customer? Another side I found SDC Tasks Library and it looks like a solution for me. But I saw many topics where people had problems and because the project was dead anybody couldn't help them. I know it is a long story... My question: how can I deploy the web-site from another program (I know that IIS versions have some differences and it is another headache), set a virtual directory, application pool (very important), a type of authentification and so forth ???     I have a series of buttons that have suit symbols on them. Currently I provide these suit symbols as bitmaps. In preparation for iPhone 4 I'd like to use text instead. However Interface Builder rescales the button to account for whitespace underneath the symbol so I can't get the image to fill the button completely. Any hints on getting Interface Builder to behave?

  • JQuery .load() function silently fails when offline

    I'm trying to write an iPhone offline webapp using jqtouch/jquery. When I disable my connectivity, it looks like the jquery .load() function silently fails and doesn't even call its callback function. I've set $.ajaxSetup ({cache: true}); but it seems to have no effect. I also have my manifest file etc. working fine - the only issue is the .load() function. Any ideas?

    Hi all, I have RGB values that I need to convert into CMYK values. I'm using the iPhone SDK to try and do this. I have tried a couple of things, but cannot either get the values to be anything other than 0 or 1, or the K element is completely wrong (showing up as a negative number).     In iPhone I need to set the background view of a UITableview. From 3.2 SDK I can in code use something like: [self.tableView setBackgroundView:[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"mycustombackground.png"]]]; But how can I do the same in interface builder? It would be great if I could just set the background view directly in interface builder. But can't seem to find this property, where is it? Thanks!
