  • Interpreting WPF Dependency properties as a set.

    - by moogs
So, I have a control. It displays an image based some xml document and an optional parameter "Document" - XML document "RenderingOption" - optional image-rendering ( sharpen, soften ) So: <XMLRenderingWidget Document="xxxxxx"/> The above will render the document once <XMLRenderingWidget Document="xxxxxx" RenderingOption="Sharpen"/> The above will, sometimes render the document once, more oftentimes: Perform the rendering of the document as if no Rendering was set then, re-render the document with the Sharpen option I do the rendering on the PropertyChangedCallback assigned to the property. How do I tell the control to "hey, before doing the rendering, apply the changes on the other properties being set, too" Is this not possible? Should I bundle them up as one property instead?

  • Unreachable code detected by using const variables

    - by Anton Roth
I have following code: private const FlyCapture2Managed.PixelFormat f7PF = FlyCapture2Managed.PixelFormat.PixelFormatMono16; public PGRCamera(ExamForm input, bool red, int flags, int drawWidth, int drawHeight) { if (f7PF == FlyCapture2Managed.PixelFormat.PixelFormatMono8) { bpp = 8; // unreachable warning } else if (f7PF == FlyCapture2Managed.PixelFormat.PixelFormatMono16){ bpp = 16; } else { MessageBox.Show("Camera misconfigured"); // unreachable warning } } I understand that this code is unreachable, but I don't want that message to appear, since it's a configuration on compilation which just needs a change in the constant to test different settings, and the bits per pixel (bpp) change depending on the pixel format. Is there a good way to have just one variable being constant, deriving the other from it, but not resulting in an unreachable code warning? Note that I need both values, on start of the camera it needs to be configured to the proper Pixel Format, and my image understanding code needs to know how many bits the image is in. So, is there a good workaround, or do I just live with this warning?

  • OCR Web Service

    - by sdfx
I am searching for an OCR web service (eventually open source, preferably free) that simply receives an image and returns the text of the image in writing. I've looked at tesseract, OCRopus and GOCR but the only open server I could find is WeOCR. Unfortunately the detection rates (at least during my tests) are sub-par and the speed is not much better. Does anyone have any experience with OCR web services? I guess the license of tesseract allows the operation of such a service, are there any out there?

  • Release a retain UIImage property loaded via imageNamed?

    - by user158103
In my class object i've defined a (nonatomic, retain) property for UIImage. I assigned this property with an image loaded via [UIImage imageNamed:@"file.png"]; If at some point I want to reassign this property to another image, should I have to release the prior reference? I am confused because by the retain property I know i should release it. But because imageNamed is a convenience method (does not use alloc), im not sure what rule to apply here. Thanks for the insight!

  • Enable PyGTK Eventbox motion-notify-event while is a Layout child

    - by mkotechno
I noticed when a Eventbox is added into a Layout some events are missed, this does not happend for example adding it to a Fixed (very similar widget), I tried to restore the event mask in this way with no sucess: import pygtk import gtk def foo(widget, event): print event pygtk.require('2.0') window = gtk.Window(gtk.WINDOW_TOPLEVEL) window.connect('destroy', lambda x: gtk.main_quit()) eventbox = gtk.EventBox() eventbox.connect('button-press-event', foo) # works eventbox.connect('motion-notify-event', foo) # fail eventbox.set_events( gtk.gdk.BUTTON_MOTION_MASK| # restoring missed masks gtk.gdk.BUTTON1_MOTION_MASK| gtk.gdk.BUTTON2_MOTION_MASK| gtk.gdk.BUTTON3_MOTION_MASK) layout = gtk.Layout() image = gtk.image_new_from_file('/home/me/picture.jpg') layout.add(image) eventbox.add(layout) window.add(eventbox) window.show_all() gtk.main() How should I restore the missed event/mask?

  • IIS7 + ASP.NET MVC Client Caching Headers Not Working

    - by Tobin Harris
Hey folks I've deployed an ASP.NET MVC app on IIS7 and Windows Server 2008. I've read posts on here, and around the web, but can't get the darn client-side caching to work. I'm trying to cache everything in the /Content folder. So far I've select that folder in IIS manager, and set the appropriate HTTP Response Headers (under Common Headers). I've also checked the web.config file in the /Content folder and the values there are being set. All resources in /Content come back with this (from FireBug): Cache-Control no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate Pragma no-cache Content-Type image/png Expires -1 Last-Modified Sun, 11 Oct 2009 19:01:40 GMT Accept-Ranges bytes Etag "f318d643a54aca1:0" Server Microsoft-IIS/7.0 X-Powered-By ASP.NET Date Sun, 11 Oct 2009 20:40:01 GMT Content-Length 620 Note the Cache-Control and Expires values for this static image being requested. The site is currently compiled in Debug (this will change), but surely that wouldn't make a difference? Obviously I'm overlooking something, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Rmagick Fails To Manipulate PNG

    - by Tyler DeWitt
Following the Railscast episode on CarrierWave: I installed ImageMagick on Mountain Lion via homebrew, exported the following path: export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/opt/local/lib/pkgconfig:$PKG_CONFIG_PATH" Symlinked the following: ln -s /usr/local/include/ImageMagick/wand /usr/local/include/wand ln -s /usr/local/include/ImageMagick/magick /usr/local/include/magick And installed rmagick via bundler. In my uploader I have the following: include CarrierWave::RMagick version :thumb do process :resize_to_limit => [85, 85] end Which creates thumbnails just fine, but not for png files. I've tried a handful of png images and it always fails with this error: Failed to manipulate with rmagick, maybe it is not an image? Original Error: no decode delegate for this image format `<path>/public/uploads/tmp/20121022-2133-9885-3333/thumb_cat_vs_internet.png' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/544 jpeg images work just fine. EDIT identify -list format | grep -i png returns nothing, indicating the png decode delegate is probably missing. Now what?

  • try...else...except syntax error

    - by iform
I can't understand this... Cannot get this code to run and I've no idea why it is a syntax error. try: newT.read() #existingArtist = newT['Exif.Image.Artist'].value #existingKeywords = newT['Xmp.dc.subject'].value except KeyError: print "KeyError" else: #Program will NOT remove existing values newT.read() if existingArtist != "" : newT['Exif.Image.Artist'] = artistString print existingKeywords keywords = os.path.normpath(relativePath).split(os.sep) print keywords newT['Xmp.dc.subject'] = existingKeywords + keywords newT.write() except: print "Cannot write tags to ",filePath Syntax error occurs on the last "except:". Again...I have no idea why python is throwing a syntax error (spent ~3hrs on this problem).

  • JavaScript Resource Management Design Pattern

    - by Adam
As a web developer, a common problem I find myself tackling is waiting for something to load before doing something else. In particular, I often hide (using either display: none; or visibility: hidden; depending on the situation) elements while waiting for a background image or a CSS file to load. Consider this example from Last.FM. They overlay a semi-transparant PNG over each album art image so that it looks like it's inside a jewel-case. They let it load when it loads, so depending on your internet speed, you may see the art image by itself (without the overlay) temporarily. In this case, the album art looks fine without the jewel-case effect. But in similar situations, I have found that I don't want the user to see the site's design mangled as resources incrementally load. So, in rare cases I have hidden everything from the user until the whole kit and kaboodle has loaded. But this is often a pain to write out, and may force the user to wait for a pretty long time to see anything (besides "loading..." text). I can think of (and have used on occasion) some obvious solutions/compromises: Use some inline CSS so that as certain parts of the DOM load and render, they will immediately have the correct size/position/etc. Immediately render the navigation part of the site, so that if the user wanted to use the current page purely to get somewhere else, they don't have to wait for the rest to load. Load pixelated images first as placeholders for layout while lazy-loading higher quality images as replacements. Something quirky like using a cute animated gif to distract the user during a "loading..." phase. Show useful information as a reference while loading the full UI. (Something akin to Gmail Inbox Preview, etc.) (Sorry if my question was basically just asked and answered...) Despite all of these ideas, I still find myself hoping there are better ways of doing some of these things. So I guess what I'm looking for is some inspiration and/or any creative ways of dealing with this problem that you guys may have seen out in the wild.

  • Extended with advice: Moving block wont work in Javascript

    - by Mack
    Hello Note: this is an extension of a question I just asked, i have made the edits & taken the advice but still no luck I am trying to make a webpage where when you click a link, the link moves diagonally every 100 milliseconds. So I have my Javascript, but right now when I click the link nothing happens. I have run my code through JSLint (therefore changed comaprisions to === not ==, thats weird in JS?). I get this error from JSLink though: Error: Implied global: self 15,38, document 31 What do you think I am doing wrong? <script LANGUAGE="JavaScript" type = "text/javascript"> <!-- var block = null; var clockStep = null; var index = 0; var maxIndex = 6; var x = 0; var y = 0; var timerInterval = 100; // milliseconds var xPos = null; var yPos = null; function moveBlock() { if ( index < 0 || index >= maxIndex || block === null || clockStep === null ) { self.clearInterval( clockStep ); return; } block.style.left = xPos[index] + "px"; block.style.top = yPos[index] + "px"; index++; } function onBlockClick( blockID ) { if ( clockStep !== null ) { return; } block = document.getElementById( blockID ); index = 0; x = number(block.style.left); // parseInt( block.style.left, 10 ); y = number(block.style.top); // parseInt( block.style.top, 10 ); xPos = new Array( x+10, x+20, x+30, x+40, x+50, x+60 ); yPos = new Array( y-10, y-20, y-30, y-40, y-50, y-60 ); clockStep = self.SetInterval( moveBlock(), timerInterval ); } --> </script> <style type="text/css" media="all"> <!-- @import url("styles.css"); #blockMenu { z-index: 0; width: 650px; height: 600px; background-color: blue; padding: 0; } #block1 { z-index: 30; position: relative; top: 10px; left: 10px; background-color: red; width: 200px; height: 200px; margin: 0; padding: 0; /* background-image: url("images/block1.png"); */ } #block2 { z-index: 30; position: relative; top: 50px; left: 220px; background-color: red; width: 200px; height: 200px; margin: 0; padding: 0; /* background-image: url("images/block1.png"); */ } #block3 { z-index: 30; position: relative; top: 50px; left: 440px; background-color: red; width: 200px; height: 200px; margin: 0; padding: 0; /* background-image: url("images/block1.png"); */ } #block4 { z-index: 30; position: relative; top: 0px; left: 600px; background-color: red; width: 200px; height: 200px; margin: 0; padding: 0; /* background-image: url("images/block1.png"); */ } #block1 a { display: block; width: 100%; height: 100%; } #block2 a { display: block; width: 100%; height: 100%; } #block3 a { display: block; width: 100%; height: 100%; } #block4 a { display: block; width: 100%; height: 100%; } #block1 a:hover { background-color: green; } #block2 a:hover { background-color: green; } #block3 a:hover { background-color: green; } #block4 a:hover { background-color: green; } #block1 a:active { background-color: yellow; } #block2 a:active { background-color: yellow; } #block3 a:active { background-color: yellow; } #block4 a:active { background-color: yellow; } --> </style>

  • Another answer to the CAPTCHA problem?

    - by Xeoncross
Most sites at least employ server access log checking and banning along with some kind of bot prevention measure like a CAPTCHA (those messed-up text images). The problem with CAPTCHAs is that they poss a threat to the user experience. Luckily they now come with user friendly features like refresh and audio versions. Anyway, like linux vs windows, it isn't worth the time of a spammer to customize and/or build a script to handle a custom CAPTCHA example that only pertains to one site. Therefore, I was wondering if there might be better ways to handle the whole CAPTCHA thing. In A Better CAPTCHA Peter Bromberg mentions that one way would be to convert the image to HTML and display it embedded in the page. On http://shiflett.org/ Chris simply asks users to type his name into an input. Examples like this are ways to simplifying the CAPTCHA experience while decreasing the value for spammers. Does anyone know of more good examples I could use or see any problem with the embedded image idea?

  • MeioUpload and phpThumb() does not exist error

    - by Cameeob2003
I am currently using CakePHP v2.2.1 and MeioUpload 4.0 along with phpThumb() to try and generate image uploads and thumbnails for those images. If i set my $actAs = array() without the thumbsizes property everything is uploaded well, but when I add the following: 'thumbsizes' => array( 'small' => array('width' => 165, 'height' => 115), 'medium' => array('width' => 800, 'height' => 600) ), to generate thumbnails I get an error stating the following: "E:/xampp/htdocs/site/vendors/phpthumb/img/posts/image-name.jpg" does not exist I have tried several different methods of fixing this from around the web and nothing seems to work. I am new to cakephp so this may be an easy fix and I am just not connecting the dots to find the solution. Any help would be very much appreciated.

  • CKEditor adds html entities to inline CSS. Is the CSS still valid?

    - by Mihai Secasiu
I have this piece of code: <table style="background-image: url(path/to_image.png)"> And when I load it in CKEditor it's transformed in: <table style="background-image: url(&quot;path/to_image.png&quot;)"> Is this still still valid CSS? Actually I'm not so interested if it's valid but if there would be any problems with any web browser or email client ( the editor is used for composing a html email ). Firefox and Thunderbird seem to be fine with it.

  • flash with recaptcha or any other captcha solution

    - by Katsuke
Hello there, I have been looking over the internet for a while about this, but it doesn't seem like there is any information available specifically related to captcah and flash. My purpose is to create an image up-loader on flash, and implement "recaptcha" on it, so the upload is controlled. I know that some people will say, "well you can't automatize flash input so you don't need captcha in this situation" even though this is somewhat true, there is still screen macro programs that could potentially make the computer upload hundreds of pictures if there is not something in place to avoid it. I thought of implementing my own captcha but that seems to me like i would be reinventing the wheel, can anyone point me on the right track for this? or suggest another approach to avoid abuse on my image up-loader flash?

  • Bogus WPF / XAML errors in Visual Studio 2010

    - by epalm
    There are bogus errors hanging around, but at runtime everything works. Right now, I'm getting Cannot locate resource 'img/icons/silk/arrow_refresh.png'. I've got a simple UserControl called ImageButton (doesn't everyone?): <UserControl x:Class="WinDispatchClientWpf.src.controls.ImageButton" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" mc:Ignorable="d"> <Button Name="btnButton" Click="btnButton_Click"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Name="btnImage" Stretch="None" /> <TextBlock Name="btnText" /> </StackPanel> </Button> </UserControl> Which does what you'd expect: [ContentProperty("Text")] public partial class ImageButton : UserControl { public String Image { set { btnImage.Source = GuiUtil.CreateBitmapImage(value); } } public String Text { set { btnText.Text = value; } } public double Gap { set { btnImage.Margin = new Thickness(0, 0, value, 0); } } public bool ToolBarStyle { set { if (value) { btnButton.Style = (Style)FindResource(ToolBar.ButtonStyleKey); } } } public bool IsCancel { set { btnButton.IsCancel = value; } } public bool IsDefault { set { btnButton.IsDefault = value; } } public event RoutedEventHandler Click; public ImageButton() { InitializeComponent(); } private void btnButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (Click != null) { Click(sender, e); } } } Where CreateBitmapImage is the following: public static BitmapImage CreateBitmapImage(string imagePath) { BitmapImage icon = new BitmapImage(); icon.BeginInit(); icon.UriSource = new Uri(String.Format("pack://application:,,,/{0}", imagePath)); icon.EndInit(); return icon; } I can't see the design view of any xaml file that uses an ImageButton like such: <Window foo="bar" xmlns:wpfControl="clr-namespace:MyProj.src.controls"> <Grid> <wpfControl:ImageButton ToolBarStyle="True" Gap="3" Click="btnRefresh_Click" Text="Refresh" Image="img/icons/silk/arrow_refresh.png" /> </Grid> </Window> Why is VS complaining?

  • Vibrations when exploding/repacking movie

    - by Stefano Borini
Please bear with me, I know that what I'm doing can sound strange, but I can guarantee there's a very good reason for that. I took a movie with my camera, as avi. I imported the movie into iMovie and then exploded the single frames as PNG. Then I repacked these frames into mov using the following code movie, error = QTMovie.alloc().initToWritableFile_error_(out_path, None) mt = QTMakeTime(v, scale) attrib = {QTAddImageCodecType: "jpeg"} for path in png_paths: image = NSImage.alloc().initWithContentsOfFile_(path) movie.addImage_forDuration_withAttributes_(image, mt, attrib) movie.updateMovieFile() The resulting mov works, but it looks like the frames are "nervous" and shaky when compared to the original avi, which appears smoother. The size of the two files is approximately the same, and both the export and repacking occurred at 30 fps. The pics also appear to be aligned, so it's not due to accidental shift of the frames. My question is: by knowing the file formats and the process I performed, what is the probable cause of such result ? How can I fix it ?
