  • Porting a project to OpenGL3

    Hi everyone, I'm working on a C++ cross-platform OpenGL application (Windows, Linux and MacOS) and I am wondering if some of you could share some advices on porting a large application to OpenGL 3. The reason I am looking into OpenGL 3 is because I think we could benefit a lot from using the new "Sync objects". Nvidia has supported such an extension since the Geforce 256 days (gl_nv_fences) but there seems to be no equivalent functionality on ATI hardware before OpenGL 3.0+... Our code makes quite heavy use of glut/freeglut, glu functions, OpenGL 2 extensions and CUDA (on supported hardware). The problem I am now facing is that "gl3.h" and "gl.h" are mutually incompatible (as stated in gl3.h). Do you guys know if there is a GL3 glut equivalent ? Also, looking at the CUDA-toolkit header files, it seems that GL-CUDA interoperability is only available when using older versions of OpenGL... (cuda_gl_interop.h includes gl.h...). Am I missing something ? Thanks a lot for your help.

Every morning, If I tried to connect to application, it shows the application is down. Once I restart the server, It works fine. From past 1 month, I am just restarting the server every day. Can any one help me where I am doing wrong in the configuration settings Please suggest me How i can eliminate this extra work every day

  • How to manage and capture database changes across several developers?

    We have three developers and one tester all working against the same database. We change the schema of the database quite often, and every time we do it tends to have a ripple effect of headaches for everyone else. Are there good practices in place for .NET oriented development against MS SQL Server 2008 for managing this? I am thinking something similar to Rails Migrations and each dev and tester has their own local database. Or is that overkill? It'd at least be nice to have separate test and dev databases, but currently manually keeping two databases in sync is probably worse than our current predicament. LiquiBase seems promising, has anyone successfully used it in a similar environment? Or are there better approaches? We are using SQL Server 2008, VS 2008 and .NET 3.5 if that matters at all.

  • Helping using FirePHP to debug a .php application

    Hi, just set up FirePHP and using a framework called Qcodo / Qcubed. Has anyone heard of these on SO? Been having challenges debugging -- trying to do a fairly simple new() and save() and then output via Ajax but not getting any kind of responsiveness from errors. Any help for us, two of us have checked it out but can't seem to get a response. Thanks! I can't seem to understand this special character escaping; confusion. please help me explain the problem here, and also what can I do to fix it.     Trying to solve this problem. I would like to learn how the bootstrapper detects if prerequisites (specifically .NET 3.5) are installed. According to this reference, a way to detect if .NET is installed is to check the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.5 Using process monitor, I have inspected registry queries done by the bootstrapper (setup.exe) and it did not show any access to this registry key. Does anybody know how the bootstrapper determines whether the prerequisites are installed on the target system?

    I'm having a hard time finding a combination of sharepoint and vs releases that work well together. So far I have tried: SP 4730 & VS RTM SP 4747 & VS RC SP 4763 (Debug RTM ish) & VS RC All of these had issues in one or both products. I'm now reverting to SP 4747 & VS RTM. Has anyone else found a combo that works well? Specifically, I'm creating a service application with some sync framework goodness. I get errors when deploying from vs or running the powershell cmdlets to deploy and provision stuff. Thanks

    Project Output Path of the the main application is set to ......\bin\Release\ and was published flawlessly by ClickOnce before. For some strange reason, ClickOnce now fails with the following error: "Could not find file 'obj\Release\EMS.OCC600.Infrastructure.Shell.exe'. c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Microsoft.Common.targets 2341 9 Infrastructure.Shell" Anyone run into this before?   • Can the Microsoft Paint Edit Colors Dialog be supplemented?

    I have written a WinForms application that presents a color picker, limited to the known colors. My environment is Visual Studio C# Express 2008, C#, and Framework 2.0. Currently the MS Paint Colors menu item only presents an Edit Colors dialog. I would like to supplement that by causing the Colors menu item to display both "Edit Colors" and "Edit Known Colors". Can I accomplish this? If so, please provide a citation (or code if preferrred).
