  • Sql CLR calling webservice throws exception

    I have clr stored procedure that calls a Webservice method. Webmethod in turn call a com object .. and do some processing on a remote Unix server. When I invoke webmethod by it self it works fine. But when called from the CLR I get the following exception.. What am I doing wrong ?   • efficient way to detect if an image is empty

    Hi, I need a very fast method to detect if an image is empty. Im my case then all pixels are white and transparant. The images are png's. My current method is to load them in a memory bitmap and check each pixel value, but this is way to slow. Is there a more efficient way? This is my current code: 'Lock the bitmap bits.   • More elegant way to make a C++ member function change different member variables based on template p

    Today, I wrote some code that needed to add elements to different container variables depending on the type of a template parameter. I solved it by writing a friend helper class specialized on its own template parameter which had a member variable of the original class. It saved me a few hundred lines of repeating myself without adding much complexity. However, it seemed kludgey. I would like to know if there is a better, more elegant way. The code below is a greatly simplified example illustrating the problem and my solution. F and G are open to limited modification if that would produce a more elegant solution. (As an example of one such modification, in the real application F's constructor takes a dummy parameter to make it look like G's constructor and save me from repeating myself.) In the real code, Worker is a friend of User and member variables are private. To make the example simpler to write, I made everything public. However, a solution that requires things to be public really doesn't answer my question. Given all these caveats, is there a better way to write User::doIt?

  • Error using MVCContrib TestHelper

    While trying to implement the second answer to a previous question, I am receiving an error. I have implemented the methods just as the post shows, and the first three work properly. The fourth one (HomeController_Delete_Action_Handler_Should_Redirect_If_Model_Successfully_Delete) gives this error: Could not find a parameter named 'controller' in the result's Values collection. If I change the code to: actual .AssertActionRedirect() .ToAction("Index"); it works properly, but I don't like the "magic string" in there and prefer to use the lambda method that the other poster used. My controller method looks like this: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Delete(State model) { try { if( model == null ) { return View( model ); } _stateService.Delete( model ); return RedirectToAction("Index"); } catch { return View( model ); } } What am I doing wrong?

  • How can I use my multiple cored dedicated server to run my java application?

    I have a game built in a java environment and I use JVM. I have 4 cores @ 2.4Ghz and my server is only using one of those cores... I've tried and searched and I still have no guides to setup multiple cores to run the game like, say 1 core for running the character saving + loading, and 1 core for the server itself, and 1 core for a helper to help other cores that need more power. I don't even know if this is possible but this is all in java the operating machine is windows server 2003 and I've tried so hard I just don't know what to do. May someone please help me!   • Ruby on Rails: Unit Testing non activerecord models and still load fixtures

    I may be missing something but I am stuck in this scenario: I have a non activerecord model, which I want to test. I have derived its test case class from: Test::Unit::TestCase. However, the test case class for the model, uses within itself, other activerecord model classes and I want to load fixtures for them. My problem is that the fixtures class method is available only when I subclass the test case class from ActiveSupport::TestCase (it is defined within ActiveRecord::TestFixtures which gets included in ActiveSupport::TestCase). Any help, coz running the tests gives me the error: undefined method "fixtures" (which is understandable) and in case I derive my test case class from ActiveSupport::TestCase it complains that there is no corresponding DB table. Also, I don't want to create a dummy table for backing my model class. Thanks a ton!

  • Using NSThread to solve waiting for image from URL on the iPhone

    So I have the following code in a method which I want to set a UIImageView image to that of one from an online source: [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(loadImage) toTarget:self withObject:nil]; Then in the method called by the thread I have this: - (void) loadImage { NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:logoPath]; // logoPath is an NSString with path details NSData *data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url]; logoImage.image = [UIImage imageWithData:data]; } This works great however I get many warnings within the Debugger Console along the lines of: 2010-05-10 14:30:14.052 ProjectTitle[2930:633f] * _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x169d30 of class NSHTTPURLResponse autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking This occurs many times each time I call the new thread and then eventually, under no pattern, after calling a few of these threads I get the classic 'EXC_BAD_ACCESS' run-time error. I understand that this is happening because I'm not retaining the object but how can I solve this with the code in 'loadImage' shown above? Thanks

    Hello. I am working on a Silverlight/WCF application and of course have numerous async calls throughout the Silverlight program. I was wondering on how is the best way to handle the creation of the client classes and subscribing.     I need to import jpeg images into a WP7/XNA app with associated metadata. The program which manages these images exports to an XML file with an encoded byte[] of the jpg files. I've written a custom importer/processor which successfully imports the reserialized objects into my XNA project.     Hi everybody! I'm developing a medium Java app, and i'm facing a small problem due to my lack of expirience. I've a custom DAO, which gets "Article" objects from the DataBase. I've the Article class, and the DAO has a method called getArticle(int id), this method returns an Article. The Article has a Category object, and i'm using lazy loading. So, when i request for an Article Category (Article a = new Article(); a.getCategory();) the Article class gets the Category from the DAO and then returns it. I'm now thinking to cache it, so when i request multiple times to an Article's category, the database is only queried one time. My question is: where should i put that cache? I can put it on the Article class (in the DTO), or i can put it on the DAO class. What do you say? Thanks!

    Are there examples of how to pass a list of key_names to Model.get_or_insert() ? My Problem: With a method of ParentLayer I want to make the children.   • Java: Selected rows's index does not changes when I sort them!

    Hello, I have a Jtable on which I called the method table1.setAutoCreateRowSorter(true);. So this works on well. But I also have a methos in my JFrame class which is fired when i push a button. It gets the selected rows indexes using this code int selectedRows[] = this.table1.getSelectedRows();. And displays an edit window for the first row corresponding in the selected interval. The problem is that if I don't click on column's headers (I mean i don't sorte them at all) my method works perfect. But when I sort the row, the indexes of the rows doesn't seems to change at all - thus resulting an edit window for the old row whicn was initially in that position before making any sort. I am using JDK 6 could anyonw give ma a tip?

    Im trying to make a table row work as a link to another view in my mvc website. Instead of using the standard "Details" link provided by the auto generated table list, I would like to use the table row as a link to the "Details" view instead. So somehow I need to make the row work as a link. Each rom has a unique id that I need to pass on to the controller method. I have tried different solutions but noting happens when I press on the table row...     Take the PriorityQueue for example http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/util/PriorityQueue.html#offer(E) According to the Collection API entry http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/util/Collection.html the add method will often seek to ensure that an element exists within the Collection rather than adding duplicates. So my question is, what is the difference between the add and offer methods? Is it that the Offer method will add duplicates regardless? (I doubt that it is because if a Collection should only have distinct elements this would circumvent that).

    I want to show my custom UIView(.Xib View) to appear when user tabbed on pins (not apple's callOutBubble) and in that UIView there should be a button which fires an IBAction on touched down event. Therefore i have added an AddObserver method to MKAnnotationView. which responds to touch events over pin in MKMapView. But i have also added 3 buttons over that XIB view, which have also assined IBActions. But when i run application, Buttons in Customized Annotation view are not responding to IBAction (Touch Down)? Why this happens ?? What is the solution for that??? I need to have called some method, when those 3 buttons tabbed. Thanks

    I'm porting over a program of mine from python2 to python3, and I'm hitting the following error: AttributeError: 'HTTPMessage' object has no attribute 'getdate' Here's the code: conn = urllib.request.urlopen(fileslist, timeout=30) last_modified = conn.info().getdate('last-modified') This section worked under python 2.7, and so far I haven't been able to find out the correct method to get this information in python 3.1. The full context is an update method. It pulls new files from a server down to its local database, but only if the file on the server is newer than the local file. If there's a smarter way to achieve this functionality than just comparing local and remote file timestamps, then I'm open to that as well.

    The definition of runProcess() method in PipelineManager is public PipelineResult runProcess(String pChainId, Object pParam) throws RunProcessException This gives me an impression that ANY object can be passed as the second param. However, ATG OOTB has PipelineManager component referring to CommercePipelineManager class which overrides the runProcess() method and downcast pParam to map and adds siteId to it. Basically, this enforces the client code to send only Map. Thus, if one needs to create a new pipeline chain, has to use map as data structure to pass on the data. Offcourse, one can always get around this by creating a new PipelineManager component, but I was just wondering the thought behind explicitly using map in CommercePipelineManager

    You can use the URL helper in Code Igniter to load CSS and Javascript with the base_url() method, but what if you have images dynamically being placed into your HTML via javascript? for example in my javascript file I've got var arrowimages={down:['downarrowclass', 'images/down.png', 23], right:['rightarrowclass', 'images/right.png']} and those images will be placed into whatever menu item I've specified has a drop down menu. but that file is a .js file so obviously the server won't load php inside of it. so, how can I set the base url for the JS?     I have a simple application written in C# and .Net 2.0 that displays several PowerPoint 2003 files in a loop. (It is going to be used for a information board in our cafeteria) The application works fine on my development machine but when I deploy it to another machine the events I have registered for SlideShowNextSlide and PresentationClose are never fired.
