  Hello everyone, I am using VSTS 2008 + C# + .Net 3.5 on Windows 7. I want to use Expression Encoder 3 to generate thumbnail image for video (wmv format) every 30 seconds -- e.g. for a 5 minutes video, there will be 10 thumbnails which reflects video at the time of 0 second, 30 second, 1 minute, 1 minute and 30 seconds, etc. Any reference code? thanks in advance, George

  I know I can pass a function pointer as a template parameter and get a call to it inlined but I wondered if any compilers these days can inline an 'obvious' inline-able function like: inline static void Print() { std::cout << "Hello\n"; } .... void (*func)() = Print; func(); Under Visual Studio 2008 its clever enough to get it down to a direct call instruction so it seems a shame it can't take it a step further?

• I need to programmatically remove a batch of unique constraints that I don't know the names of.

  I maintain a product that is installed at multiple locations which as been haphazardly upgraded. Unique constraints were added to a number of tables, but I have no idea what the names are at any particular instance. What I do know is the table/columnname pair that has the unique constraints and I would like to write a script to delete any unique constraint on these column/table combinations. This is MSSQL 2000 and later. Something that works on 2000/2005/2008 would be best!

The release option doesn't work as the application does not function correctly when build in release (not sure why).   Hi, I'm developing an applciation using SQL Compact database in Visual Studio 2008. When I start the application and run the process, the data is being loaded into database for few hours worth of few tens of megabytes. However, when I quite debugging, change something in code (not in DB structure), run the project again, the database is erased. Does anyone know how to prevent this behavior? I need the data to stay in DB to test on it.

  This simple query throws the "Ambiguous column name TaskID" error on one db-server only. This is ridiculous. We tested this with the same database structure on different servers and different versions of ms sql (2005/2008), and it's only THIS particular client's server that throws the error.   Does the Visual Studio 2008 debugger implicitly cast all smaller data types to int? I have a function with the following signature: public int DoSomething(sbyte value) { ... } When pass in -127 and I look at the value argument the Visual Studio debugger (e.g. Watch window) shows me that it has the value 0xFFFFFF81. This is correct except for the fact that sbyte is only 8 bits wide; I would expect the debugger to show me that it is 0x81.
