  • DotNetOpenAuth OpenIdTextBox For Google/Yahoo

    If I want to integrate DotNetOpenAuth (primary for people to use their Google/Yahoo accounts to login, not act as provider) into my existing site, is this one line control good enough? <rp:OpenIdTextBox ID="OpenIdTextBox1" runat="server" /> Say, if a user wants to login as Google, I can simply set the textbox to "https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id" and then they can login. I tried it with my Google account, it seems working and I can get the token from HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name. Is this "one line" solution secure enough for production? or is it a "must" that I have to use "OpenIdSelector" or "OpenIDLogin" control? I also opened the .net template and some samples, they are very complicated. There are PAPE policies, xrds.aspx (for discovery), ConsumerKey + ConsumerSecret...etc. As a newbie, I am very confused. Any tips on this will be really appreciated. Thanks

  • How do I run different threads in Java?

    Hey. I'm having some problems with threads. I understand how they work, but since they all use the same method, how do I run different threads that do completely different things, but at the same time? To me, it seems that they always use the same standard method which makes them do the same thing. So, let's say I have a big .txt file where I want to go through each line and do something to the line. In this case, I would like to have each thread do 1/10th of the .txt file, but I don't understand how the threads can communicate with each other, and how they could organize so each thread does the right part? Could anyone explain or help me with this? Would be very much appreciated!

  • How to use WatiN to control browser tabs?

    I want to use WatiN with IE in a parallel setting, i.e. work with dozens/hundreds of pages at once. I've tried sticking it into a Parallel.For loop only to see the whole thing crash, so I'm thinking opening multiple tabs in the browser is the way to go. Can someone suggest how this can be done using WatiN (or just some IE-related API) or whether there's a better way? TIA!

    When working on code from multiple authors, I often encounter the issue of curly-brace preference (same line vs new line). Is it good/bad practice or even a non-issue when it comes to matching the existing style vs using your own preference? Does the situation change if you are adding new code to a Class vs modifying existing code? Finally, if style should be matched, how far should the match propagate? i.e. the file, the class, subclasses etc. Example: if(this) { doThat(); } Vs. if(this){ doThat(); }

    hey, I have a firmware for an USB module I can already control by visual C. Now I want to port this to python. for this I need the octopus library which is written in c.     I created a SQL server compact database (MyDatabase.sdf), and populated it with some data. I then ran SQLMetal.exe and generated a linq to sql class (MyDatabase.mdf) Now I'm trying to select all records from a table with a relatively straightforward select, and I get the error: "There was an error parsing the query. [ Token line number = 3,Token line offset = 67,Token in error = MAX]" Here is my select code: public IEnumerable ListItems() { MyDatabase db_m = new MyDatabase("c:\mydatabase.sdf"); return this.db_m.TestTable.Select(test = new Item() { .... } } I've read that Linq to SQL works with Sql Compact, is there some other configuration I need to do?

    I'm thinking of building a game along the lines of Farmville - items, events, time management system etc. Options I am thinking of: 1) Flash UI frontend that uses AMFPHP to get all data for the view from a PHP powered backend. 2) Actionscript to power the whole game Any input is appreciated. My concern with Actionscript is scaling, my concern with PHP is having to build an update system that would need a lot of back and forth xmlhttprequests which might get complicated. If there's a better way to build something like this, I'm all ears :)

    Hi All, I am trying to acquaint myself on Mysql syntax. I only have used MSSQL so far. I downloaded the Mysql Query Browser and have installed the Mysql Version 5.1 I wanted to run this line of code in the resultset tab of mysql but I keep on encountering below error You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'declare iCtr int' at line 1 declare iCtr int; set iCtr = 1; while iCtr < 1000 begin insert into employee (emp_id,emp_first_name,emp_last_name,status_id) values (iCtr, 'firstName' + iCtr, 'lastName' + iCtr, 1) set iCtr = iCtr + 1; end I just wanted to populate my employees table but I cannot get past the mysql syntax.   • Custom title bar without padding (Android)

    So I am using the techniques in this thread to use a custom background for my titlebar. Unfortunately the framework places my layout inside a FrameLayout which has padding and so the image doesn't cover the whole bar, but instead has gray borderes. Is there anyway to remove this padding? I can't just set the padding attributes because I do not create the frame layout.

    I am trying to specify an additional folder to look for references when doing a command-line compile with MSBuild. The command line is as follows: msbuild C:\LUR.NET\LurReports.sln /t:Rebuild /p:AdditionalLibPaths=C:\Radio;TargetFrameworkVersion=v2.0 For whatever reasons, msbuild completely ignores the C:\Radio folder when looking for references. What am I missing here? P.S. I should mention that this box does not have Visual Studio installed. And the .sln is in version VS2008 and I am compiling it against .NET 2.0. P.S. I also tried placing double quotes around the path. Did not make a difference.

    My web service is returning quite a bit of data, so i'm storing it in an arraylist and returning that to my application. I don't know whether or not this is the preferred method or not. When the arraylist is returned and displayed in my application, it also displays the arraylists "anyType" section. I'm new to this whole process so i'm sure i'm missing something somewhere or going about this incorrectly. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

    I currently have a site that is a sidescroller (http://www.studioimbrue.com) and I'm trying to bind a mousewheel to scroll sideways. Currently I'm using the one found at thehorizontalway.com but it doesn't seem to work in all browsers (Chrome).     Say I have written to a text file in this format: key1/value1 key2/value2 akey/withavalue anotherkey/withanothervalue I have a linked list like: struct Node { char *key; char *value; struct Node *next; }; to hold the values. How would I read key1 and value1? I was thinking of putting line by line in a buffer and using strtok(buffer, '/'). Would that work? What other ways could work, maybe a bit faster or less prone to error? Please include a code sample if you can!

  • xampp virtual host in config file causes forbidden error...

    Any idea why the following virtual host causes xampp to give me a "403 forbidden error"? <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName rst DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs/administrator/login.php" </VirtualHost> If I delete this code then xampp loads web pages just fine...but I don't want to have to type in the whole url...I want to just type in "rst" and go to my page.   • Serverside image processing

    I am designing a web application that does server side image processing in real time. Processing tasks include applying different effects like grayscale, blur, oil paint, pencil sketch etc on images in various formats. I want to build it using java/servlets which I am already familiar with. I found 3 options, 1) Use pure java imaging libraries like java.awt or http://www.jhlabs.com/ip/index.html 2) Use command line tools like Gimp/ImageMagick 3) Use c,c++ image libraries that have java bindings. I don't know which of the above options is good keeping the performance in mind. It looks like option 2) and 3) are good performance wise, but I want to be sure before I rule out 1). I have also heard gimp cannot be run using command line unless gtk or xwindows is already installed on the server. Will there be any such problems with 2) or 3) while running them server side? Also please suggest any good image processing libraries for this purpose.

I've tried looking on grepcode to find the source, but I'm unable to find a matching line number that makes sense. Is my Grepcode-fu weak?

I could try something but I want to understand what is going on. [/Edit] Can you make a better version and explain? I would like a version that passes JSLint and still works.
