  • What is a "PR"? What does PR stand for in the context of FreeBSD Ports

    Compare: http://www.freebsd.org/prstats/index.html A specific "PR": http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=134774 Does it stand for Portability Report? or something similar? I can tell it has to do with tracking bug reports and build problems for specific ports but the acronym is baffling me. It may also be used in the Linux world but Googling for "Linux PR" only yields results related to Public Relations. Apparently FreeBSD has PRs and Linux has Public Relations.

  • Explode all folders

    Ive got a folder with about a hundred sub folders and again each ones of those has between 10 and 20 sub folders, so all in all a pretty large folder tree. Is there a simple way i can explode or export all of the files in the tree to a new folder which will just be one folder contain the files (no folders, no trees). Im running OSX 10.8, although ive also got Parallels so if there is a windows solution i could just run that as its not something i need to do everyday.

    I've two ASAs 5515 connected in failover Active/Stand by (on Gi0/5) My two ASAs are connected to two Switch ProCurve 2920 to have HA if something happens. So I plug something like that (don't pay attention to the arrows) : So one the ASA, I created a Port-Channel like that : interface GigabitEthernet0/0 nameif outside security-level 0 ip address 192.168.1.3 255.255.255.0 standby 192.168.1.4 ! interface GigabitEthernet0/1 speed 1000 duplex full channel-group 1 mode passive no nameif no security-level no ip address ! interface GigabitEthernet0/2 speed 1000 duplex full channel-group 1 mode passive no nameif no security-level no ip address ! interface Port-channel1.1 vlan 1 nameif inside security-level 100 ip address 192.168.8.1 255.255.255.0 standby 192.168.8.2 ! interface Port-channel1.10 vlan 10 nameif guest security-level 50 ip address 172.16.100.2 255.255.255.224 standby 172.16.100.3 ! interface Port-channel1.16 vlan 16 nameif dmz security-level 50 ip address 192.168.16.1 255.255.255.0 standby 192.168.16.2 On the switch, I created a trunk LACP capable with the port 1 and 2 on each switch, force the speed to 1000 and put the port un full duplex mode. BUT this is not working... I tried many things and I can't make it work. In this configuration, I can't ping anything between my ASA and my Switch (or any object connected). If I look at the statut of LACP on the switch I see this : PORT LACP TRUNK PORT LACP LACP NUMB ENABLED GROUP STATUS PARTNER STATUS ----- ------- ----- ------ ------- ------ 1 Active trk1 Up No Success 2 Active trk1 Up No Success I don't have any clue on what's going on so If someone have any idea and help me on this, it would be great !     I wrote a setup script to install my prefered programs and settings after I got a new server. apt-get install git git clone http://[email protected] .vim ln -s .vimrc .vim/vimrc ... But if something wrong happens during setup, how can I interrupt the setup script, and log the error(s)? For example, if github server is down, it's obviously useless to create a symbolic link to non-existed vimrc. (or you have a better approach to initialize a server?)

    I'm trying to run the netdiag command to troubleshoot the internet connection but when I run it in cmd I get the following message: 'netdiag' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Also, I have tried typing "net diag", which gives me a syntax error, but that NET command seems to be something completely different. Searching on google for answers gives me results that deal with Windows Server 2003; I'm on a Windows XP machine.

I want a Windows PC to refer to a local file (I can serve it from a web server at localhost if needed) when it attempts to fetch a certain remote file via HTTP.     Ok, so I was reading through the AMD64 manuels and knowing that nop is really an xchg eax, eax, I looked at the xchg and found something interesting, that it seems a byte can be encoded into the instruction for specifying the registers (apologies I'm on my iPod): picture. So what I am wondering is how does the processor know if there is a byte after to work with or is it that that extra register has to be of type rAX causing it to actually still be the one byte 0x90

    In my company there are two redundant MX servers, I would like to tell nagios to wake me in the night ONLY if both servers are down. The default behavior is to alert whenever one of the MX servers is down. I would like to set a timeperiod i.e. 23:00 to 06:00 when nagios only alerts me by sms in case both servers are down. I am using nagios3 but I couldn't find something like this in the docs. Thanks

  • Chrome Problems on Windows 8

    There are a lot of problems with Chrome (24.0.1312.14 beta || But all this happened before update also) on Windows 8. Problems and explanations are listed below: Google Chrome re-draw time: When I switch tabs, the window retains the content of the previous tab and displays that even if I move my mouse, if only refreshes (re-draws) when there is a change on the webpage (like on hover) or I do a select all (or scroll). One thing to note is that the hover and select happens on the real page and not the retained image-like thing of the older webpage. Chrome is slow and laggy: Websites such as Facebook and Twitter (and more) have gone extremely laggy on Chrome (Win 8). When I was using Windows 7, I never experienced a lag or something. Also when using HTML-5 Websites, the transition (the -webkit-transition in CSS) goes extremely slow at times. Plugins Crash: Plugins like Flash Player, Shockwave Player, and more that are in-built into Chrome Crashes a lot, even when doing simple tasks like playing YouTube Videos, displaying ads or something. Chrome Crashes: Chrome has crashed over 100 times in the past month. Google Chrome just crashes randomly or I don't know the reason. Random Page crashes: Chrome results chrome://crash/(Copy-Paste this in address bar) on random pages even when the page is just loaded, I understand that this can happen on heavy HTML5 or JS websites but what about HTML only websites! Most of the things above happens on Super User also, Super User never had any problem when using Chrome on Windows 7. UPDATE 1: @magicandre1981 Commented for trying to disable Hardware Acceleration. I tried it, it somewhat solved the problem but din't fix it. I am still experiencing all the above issues but less frequently (maybe because Chrome Restarted Completely) UPDATE 2: @avirk asked me to try a Stable Version of Chrome and Firefox, I din't experience any lag in Firefox, a little (negligible) lag in Chrome 22 (Maybe because its a new copy of Chrome, I haven't used it much). Is anybody else experiencing such issues? Does anybody has a solution to any of these? Any Help is appreciated! Thank You!

I know it should be doable pretty simply by something like: copy /var/lib/tomcat6 to /var/lib/tomcat6-2 modify ports in /var/lib/tomcat6-2/conf/server.xml copy /etc/init.d/tomcat6 to /etc/init.d/tomcat6-2 modify /etc/init.d/tomcat6-2... ...but my problem is that I'm unsure what I should modify in /etc/init.d/tomcat6-2. Chaging the NAME in the beginning of the file clearly is not enough.

I know that I can create a .htaccess file in each .git directory and deny access, but I wanted something I could put into the main config file that makes this global across all websites.

  • Keyboard and monitor recommendations

Does anyone make a device that you place on either side of a wall to hook up a connection? Preferably something that can do 100Mb full duplex and can't be eavesdropped on with common hardware?
