Things I can think of that might be an issue: using a custom font, using bright green, updating the label too fast? Does anyone have a suggestion about how I might prevent this screen persistence? Some known workaround to blank the pixels occasionally? I sent an email to appreview, and I was told to file a technical support request (DTS). When I filled the DTS, they told me it was not a code issue, and when I further asked for help from DTS, a "senior manager" told me that this was not an issue Apple knew about. He further advised me to file a bug with the Apple Radar bug tracker if I considered it to be a real issue. I filed the Radar bug a few weeks ago, but it has not been acknowledged.     Hi guys, I really need help with finding a repeated number out of 3 boxes. Let's say that i have 3 boxes, each box contain 10 piece of numbered paper (1 - 10) but there is a number the same in all 3 boxes eg: box1 has number 4 and box2 has number 4 and box3 also has number 4.   • How to make UISlider output nice rounded numbers exponentially?

    Hi I am implementing a UISlider a user can manipulate to set a distance. I have never used the CocoaTouch UISlider, but have used other frameworks sliders, usually there is a variable for setting the "step" and other "helper" properties. The documentation for the UISlider deals only with a max and min value, and the output is always a 6 decimal float with a linear relation to the position of the "slider nob". I guess I will have to implement the desired functionality step by step. To the user, the min/max values range from 10 m to 999 Km, I am trying to implement this in an exponential way, that will feel natural to the user. I.e. the user experiences a feeling of control over the values, big or small. Also that the "output" has reasonable values. Values like 10m 200m 2.5km 150 km etc. instead of 1.2342356 m or 108.93837756 km. I would like for the step size to increase by 10m for the first 200m, then maybe by 50m up to 500m, then when passing the 1000 m value, it starts to deal with Kilometers, so then it is step size = 1 km up until 50 km, then maybe 25 km steps etc. Any way I go about this I end up doing a lot of rounding and a lot of calculations wrapped in a forrest of if statements and NSString/Number conversions, each time the user moves the slider just a little. I was hoping someone could lend me a bit of inspiration/math help or make me aware of a more lean approach to solving this problem. My last idea is to populate and array with a 100 string values, then have the slider int value correspond to a string, this is not very flexible, but doable.     I am having trouble defining and automating my build process despite simple requirements: Every build should have a unique build number. Every tagged release should be reproducible What I have: A C++, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x, Subversion development environment. A build machine ( actually a virtual machine ) A version.h file with #defines for major, minor, and buildnumber. A script for incrementing the version.h buildnumber. A rpmbuild spec file that exports the tagged Subversion source, builds, and makes the rpm installer packages. Questions: Assuming multiple developers per project, when should the build number be incremented and version.h file be checked-in? The build machine? Some sort of Subversion hook? Pre-build or post-build? Thanks in advance for those willing to take the time to share their experience with build processes. -Ed Linux newbie. Former Windows C++/.NET developer.

  • Will MyISAM type tables work better than InnoDB for large numbers of columns?

    I have a MySQL InnoDB table with 238 columns. 56 of them are TEXT type, 27 are VARCHAR(255). I am getting MySQL error 139 when users insert data sometimes. After research I found that I'm probably running into InnoDB row size/column size/column count limitations. (I'm putting it that way because the specific limits among those three things are interdependent.) Docs on InnoDB give an idea of the limits. If I switch this table to MyISAM is it likely to solve the problem? I understand the maximum row size of 65,535 bytes. I think I'm hitting InnoDB's additional 8000 byte limit somehow. Switching to PostgreSQL is also a remote option, but would take much longer.

    Hi all I am working on a shopping site and I am trying to calculate the subtotal of products. I got my price from a array and quantity from getJSON response array. Two of them multiply comes to my subtotal. I can change the quantity and it will comes out different subtotal. However,when I change the quantity to certain number, the final subtotal is like 259.99999999994 or some long decimal number. I use console.log to check the $price and $qty. Both of them are in the correct format ex..299.99 and 6 quantity.I have no idea what happen. I would appreciate it if someone can help me about it.   • Suggested (simple) approach for drawing large numbers of visual elements in WPF?

    I'm writing an interface that features a large (~50000px width) "canvas"-type area that is used to display a lot of data in a fairly novel way. This involves lots of lines, rectangles, and text. The user can scroll around to explore the entire canvas. At the moment I'm just using a standard Canvas panel with various Shapes placed on it. This is nice and easy to do: construct a shape, assign some coordinates, and attach it to the Canvas. Unfortunately, it's pretty slow (to construct the children, not to do the actual rendering). I've looked into some alternatives, it's a bit intimidating. I don't need anything fancy - just the ability to efficiently construct and place objects in a coordinate plane. If all I get are lines, colored rectangles, and text, I'll be happy. Do I need Geometry instances inside of Geometry Groups inside of GeometryDrawings inside of some Panel container? Note: I'd like to include text and graphics (i.e. colored rectangles) in the same space, if possible.

  • How good is my method of embedding version numbers into my application using Mercurial hooks?

    This is not quite a specifc question, and more me like for a criticism of my current approach. I would like to include the program version number in the program I am developing. This is not a commercial product, but a research application so it is important to know which version generated the results. My method works as follows: There is a "pre-commit" hook in my .hg/hgrc file link to .hg/version_gen.sh version_gen.sh consists solely of: hg parent --template "r{rev}_{date|shortdate}" > version.num In the makefile, the line version="%__VERSION__% in the main script is replaced with the content of the version.num file. Are there better ways of doing this? The only real short coming I can see is that if you only commit a specfic file, version.num will be updated, but it won't be commited, and if I tried to add always committing that file, that would result in an infite loop (unless I created some temp file to indicate I was already in a commit, but that seems ugly...).

    Hello, I am new to C# and I am practicing by trying to solve this easy C# problem. This application will receive an "n" number. After receiving this number, the program has to show the n prime of the list of primes. For example, if the user enters "3", the program is supposed to display "5", because 5 is the third prime starting at 2.   • Is there a way to parse XML via SAX/DOM with line numbers available per node.

    I already have written a DOM parser for a large XML document format that contains a number of items that can be used to automatically generate Java code. This is limited to small expressions that are then merged into a dynamically generated Java source file. So far - so good. Everything works. BUT - I wish to be able to embed the line number of the XML node where the Java code was included from (so that if the configuration contains uncompilable code, each method will have a pointer to the source XML document and the line number for ease of debugging). I don't require the line number at parse-time and I don't need to validate the XML Source Document and throw an error at a particular line number. I need to be able to access the line number for each node and attribute in my DOM or per SAX event. Any suggestions on how I might be able to achieve this? P.S. Also, I read the StAX has a method to obtain line number whilst parsing, but ideally I would like to achieve the same result with regular SAX/DOM processing in Java 4/5 rather than become a Java 6+ application or take on extra .jar files.

    hi I want to generate unique id's everytime i call methode generateCustumerId(). The generated id must be 8 characters long or less than 8 characters. This requirement is necessary because I need to store it in a data file and schema is determined to be 8 characters long for this id. Option 1 works fine. Instead of option 1, I want to use UUID. The problem is that UUID generates an id which has to many characters.
