  • next element is (current+1) or 0 (ruby)

    - by Radek
I have an interval let's say (0..3) where next element is +1 unless the last. Then the next is 0. I solved it by the code below. Just wondering if there is anything else outhere :-) def next(max, current) if current+1 == max return 0 else return current+1 end end

  • fopen doesn’t create file in the current directory

    - by indira
I have created a console application in VS2010 and I want to create a file in the current directory where the exe runs. I used the following code fp = fopen("Pkts.csv", "w+"); But file is not getting created in the current directory. But when I specifies the path as fp = fopen("C:\\Windows\\Pkts.csv", "w+"); the file gets created in the path specified. How to create the file in the current directory?

  • The cross-thread usage of "HttpContext.Current" property and related things

    - by smwikipedia
I read from < Essential ASP.NET with Examples in C# the following statement: Another useful property to know about is the static Current property of the HttpContext class. This property always points to the current instance of the HttpContext class for the request being serviced. This can be convenient if you are writing helper classes that will be used from pages or other pipeline classes and may need to access the context for whatever reason. By using the static Current property to retrieve the context, you can avoid passing a reference to it to helper classes. For example, the class shown in Listing 4-1 uses the Current property of the context to access the QueryString and print something to the current response buffer. Note that for this static property to be correctly initialized, the caller must be executing on the original request thread, so if you have spawned additional threads to perform work during a request, you must take care to provide access to the context class yourself. I am wondering about the root cause of the bold part, and one thing leads to another, here is my thoughts: We know that a process can have multiple threads. Each of these threads have their own stacks, respectively. These threads also have access to a shared memory area, the heap. The stack then, as I understand it, is kind of where all the context for that thread is stored. For a thread to access something in the heap it must use a pointer, and the pointer is stored on its stack. So when we make some cross-thread calls, we must make sure that all the necessary context info is passed from the caller thread's stack to the callee thread's stack. But I am not quite sure if I made any mistake. Any comments will be deeply appreciated. Thanks. ADD Here the stack is limited to user stack.

  • Can I legally publish my Fortran 90 wrappers to nVidias CUFFT library (from CUDA SDK)?

    - by Jakub Narebski
From a legal standpoint (licensing issues), can I legally in agreement with license publish Fortran 90 wrappers (bindings) to CUFFT library from nVidia CUDA Toolkit, under some open source license (either CC0 i.e. public domain, or some kind of permissive license like BSD). nVidia provides only C bindings with their CUDA SDK. • 'txn-current-lock': Permission denied [500, #13] - Subversion + Apache Configuration Issue

    - by wfoster
Current Setup Fedora 13 32bit Apache 2.2.16 Subversion repositories setup under /var/www/svn I have two different repositories under this directory so my /etc/httpd/conf.d/subversion.conf setup in this way; LoadModule dav_svn_module modules/mod_dav_svn.so LoadModule authz_svn_module modules/mod_authz_svn.so <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNListParentPath on SVNParentPath /var/www/svn <LimitExcept GET PROPFIND OPTIONS REPORT> AuthType Basic AuthName "Subversion Repository" AuthUserFile /etc/httpd/.htpasswd Require valid-user </LimitExcept> </Location> After copying over my repos and using; chmod 755 -R /var/www/svn chcon -R -t httpd_sys_content_t /var/www/svn chown apache:apache -R /var/www/svn I can browse my repos fine through the browser, and I can update all my working copies, however when I try to check in from anywhere I get the same error Can't open file '/var/www/svn/repo/db/txn-current-lock':Permission denied I have been working on this issue for a while now and cant seem to find a solution to my issues. It might be of some use to know that the repo existed on a different server before this, it has been now moved to this new server. Everything I have read seems to indicate that the permissions for apache are incorrect, however apache is set to run as User apache and Group apache. So as far as I can tell my setup is correct. The behavior is not though. Any Ideas? Solution The only way I was able to get this to work is to disable SELinux, it could also be done by setting the proper booleans with SELinux via setsetbool and getsebool since this is just a home server, I decided to disable SELinux and am reaping the benefits now.

  • I can't get a native resolution of 1920x1080 on 11.10 (AOC f22 on a Nvidia Geforce GTS 450)

    - by Mikeeeee
I have a problem were the highest resolution I can get is 1360x769, this is a 22 inch LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1920x1080_60 I have tried numerous drivers but nothing changed I tried editing the xorg.conf scipt with no success (I am a noob with linux though). Running many commands in terminal witch I got from people with similar problems only gives me errors like "Failed to get size of gamma for output default. I get edid checksum is invalid error on boot down also. I think there maybe a communication problem between my screens EDID and ubuntu although xp and windows 7 detect my screen without any errors and automatically set native resolution. also when I am installing ubuntu I get a horrible screen flashing every few seconds until I have installed the nvidia driver. pc specks if it helps x64 os, mainboard N68PV-GS, 4 gig ram, AMD Phenom(tm) 9350e Quad-Core Processor × 4, Nvidia Geforce gts450 512mb, hard drives set up in a onboard nvidia raid array striped. realy need to get a better resolution, 1360x769 does not look nice on a 22 inch screen. ty

  • NVidia raid 5 array spooling sounds and delay

    - by Chase B. Gale
I've had a raid 5 array setup with 3 2TB WD Green drives for about 3 years now. Starting last week, when I would access the array for the first time, I hear a loud drive spooling sound and experience a ~5 second delay before being able to access\save files. This behavior happens when I don't use the array for some time (about an hour) and after occurring it doesn't happen again if I continue to access the array. I've run SMART scans on all drives and they come back as being a-ok. What's causing this? Is my array getting close to death?

  • Error while compiling Hello world program for CUDA

    - by footy
    I am using Ubuntu 12.10 and have sucessfully installed CUDA 5.0 and its sample kits too. I have also run sudo apt-get install nvidia-cuda-toolkit Below is my hello world program for CUDA: #include <stdio.h> /* Core input/output operations */ #include <stdlib.h> /* Conversions, random numbers, memory allocation, etc. */ #include <math.h> /* Common mathematical functions */ #include <time.h> /* Converting between various date/time formats */ #include <cuda.h> /* CUDA related stuff */ __global__ void kernel(void) { } /* MAIN PROGRAM BEGINS */ int main(void) { /* Dg = 1; Db = 1; Ns = 0; S = 0 */ kernel<<<1,1>>>(); /* PRINT 'HELLO, WORLD!' • Running Safari from the command line adds current directory to the URL

    - by Charles Anderson
I am trying to run the Safari browser (on Mac OS 10.4) from the command line, as follows: /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari http://localhost/dev/myfile.html However, Safari starts up and tries to access file:///Users/charlesanderson/scripts/http://localhost/dev/myfile.html /Users/charlesanderson/scripts happens to be my current directory. Can someone explain why Safari does this? Firefox is much better behaved?

  • Dynamically set current domain in nginx with perl module

    - by Simone Margaritelli
i know how to set variables and use subroutines with the nginx builtin perl module INSIDE a "server" directive but, what i need to do is to set/rewrite the current domain before ... let's say, we have a domain like admin.foobar.website.com i want that a request to foobar.othersite.com points to the first address ( obviously website.com and othersite.com are hosted on the same webserver running nginx :) ). For reasons i can't explain here, i can not use multiple server_name directive expressions, i have to do this before the server {} block, with perl or anyway possible. Thanks

  • How to see active connections and "current activity" in PostgreSQL 8.4

    - by Evgeny
I'm investigating an issue with DB connections being left open indefinitely, causing problems on the DB server. How do I see currently open connections to a PostgreSQL server, particularly those using a specific database? Ideally I'd like to see what command is executing there as well. Basically, I'm looking for something equivalent to the "Current Activity" view in MSSQL.

    - by sanksjaya
I'm a student looking for a job as a Jr. Sys Admin / Information Security position. The moment I click search from simplyhired.com or dice.com my job gets complicated. It's so hard to spot the ones that you definitely want to apply for. So, just share your story of how you spot your current job online? What factors did you consider before applying? And any tips for young job seekers. Thanks :)

  • Current trends in Random Access Memory speed [closed]

    - by Vetal
As I know for now because of laws of Physics there will be not any tangible improvements in CPU cycles per second for the nearest future. However because of Von Neumann bottleneck it seems to not be an issue for non-server applications. So what about RAM, is there any upcoming technologies that promise to improve memory speed or we are stack with the current situation till quantum computers will come out from labs?

  • How to run a logon script but not as the current user

    - by user139951
I want to create a log of when people login or logout of computers in a computer lab. My first idea was to just create login/logout scripts that contact a server, but the problem is since these scripts would run as the current user, that they would then be able to run this script outside of these two occasions. Is there any way to go about running a login/logout script as the domain computer rather than as the user?

  • Ubuntu 10.04 with HD flash

    - by Brad Robertson
Just noticed that 10.04 is out. My media server has been packed away for a few months but I might dust if off and give 10.04 a shot but I thought I'd see if anyone has any success stories with HD flash in either Chrome or Firefox. I'm currently running Ubuntu 9.10 and it was a large enough pain to get VDPAU working with my Zotac Ion-ITX-C board (eventually found an mplayer PPA that had it compiled in) From reading the 10.04 docs it looks like this is standard now, but I'm wondering about streaming HD, from, say flash or Divx. I've never been able to get HD flash to play without it being extremely choppy, and I chalk this up to the lack of hardware assisted decoding like VDPAU (a guess). My board certainly isn't a competitor in CPU power or memory, which is why i've needed the HW accelerated decoding for HD vids in the past. Just wondering if anyone has had any success stories playing HD vid online (flash, divx or what have you)

  • How to connect 3 monitors into an Asus 9800GT

    - by aliasbody
I don't know if this is possible but, I've heard that there exist some DVI connections that allow and recognize the connection os 2 Monitores in the same port (I can be wrong tho). I have an Asus 9800GT 512MB on my computer that runs Ubuntu 12.04 and Arch Linux, and I am trying to connect 3 monitors. I already have 2 (17" each), and want to connect a new one with 19", but on my 9800GT I only have 2 DVI connections. Is there anyway to have 3 monitores extended without having to buy a new GPU ? Thanks in Advance,
