  • Selective coloring on dynamic TextBlock content in WPF

    - by user326579
    For selective coloring of static content the following suggestion works fine : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2435880/is-it-possible-to-seletively-color-a-wrapping-textblock-in-silverlight-wpf However my content will be generated at runtime. For ex. if the Content generated is : "A Quick Brown Fox" Then I need they string "Brown" to be in color Brown and "Fox" to be in color Red The Keyword-Color list is fixed and available to me at runtime. I have looked at the Advanced TextFormatting page on MSDN, but it is too complicated for me, also the sample in there does not compile :( I am looking at creating a custom control which can do this for me. Let me know if anyone has any idea regarding how to go about this. Thanks in advance.

  • Need help using the Windows IP Helper API & ParseNetworString in C#.

    - by JohnnyNoir
    I'm attempting to rewrite some C# web service code that uses the Windows IP Helper API call "SendARP" to retreive a remote system's MAC address. SendARP works great - until you cross a network segment as Arp requests aren't routed. I've been looking at the "ParseNetworkString" documentation after happening across its existance on StackOverflow. The quick & dirty algorithm I have in mind is: public static string GetMacAddress(string strHostOrIP) { if (strHostOrIP is IPAddress) { parse results of nbstat -A strHostOrIP return macAddress } if (strHostOrIP is Hostname) { IPHostEntry hostEntry = null; try { hostEntry = Dns.GetHostEntry(strHostOrIP); } catch { return null; } if (hostEntry.AddressList.Length == 0) { return null; } foreach (IPAddress ip in hostEntry.AddressList) { if (ip.AddressFamily == System.Net.Sockets.AddressFamily.InterNetwork) { ipAddress = ip; break; } } } return GetMACAddress(ipAddress); } "ParseNetworkString" is new with Vista/Win2008 so I haven't been able to find example C# code demonstrating its use and I'm no C++ coder so if anyone can point me in the right direction...

  • in google analytics, what is 'ga:accountName' for ?

    - by Chez
    In google analytics, what is 'ga:accountName' for ? it might seem like a straightforward question but I can't find anywhere some documentation which tells me what ga:accountName is supposed to return. if I run the google's code from the java example: private static void getAccountFeed(AnalyticsService analyticsService) throws IOException, MalformedURLException, ServiceException { // Construct query from a string. URL queryUrl = new URL( "https://www.google.com/analytics/feeds/accounts/default?max-results=10"); // Make request to the API. AccountFeed accountFeed = analyticsService.getFeed(queryUrl, AccountFeed.class); // Output the data to the screen. System.out.println("-------- Account Feed Results --------"); for (AccountEntry entry : accountFeed.getEntries()) { System.out.println( "\nAccount Name = " + entry.getProperty("ga:accountName") + "\nProfile Name = " + entry.getTitle().getPlainText() + "\nProfile Id = " + entry.getProperty("ga:profileId") + "\nTable Id = " + entry.getTableId().getValue()); } } it does return my website. can anybody help ? thanks

  • How to tell when my batch of EAP calls are completed?

    - by codemonkie
    This is following my question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2607038/c-how-to-consume-web-service-adheres-to-the-event-based-asynchronous-pattern My program is calling the DoStuffAsync() x many times in a batch, hence the callback will get invoked the same number of times upon OnComplete(). Is there a way to find out when my batch is finished such that I can generate a report on the success/failed results? All I can think of is to have a static count variable for x and deduct 1 every time OnComplete() is called, but its kind of silly and error prone I'm afraid. TIA.

  • Netbeans Java SE GUI Builder: private initComponents() problem

    - by maSnun
    When I build a GUI for my Java SE app with Netbeans GUI builder, it puts all the codes in the initComponents() method which is private. I could not change it to public. So, all the components are accessible only to the class containing the UI. I want to access those components from another class so that I can write custom event handlers and everything. Most importantly I want to separate my GUI code and non-GUI from each other. I can copy paste the GUI code and later make them public by hand to achieve what I want. But thats a pain. I have to handcraft a portion whenever I need to re-design the UI. What I tried to do: I used the variable identifier to make the text box public. Now how can I access the text box from the Main class? I think I need the component generated in a public method as well. I am new to Java. Any helps? Here's the sample classes: The UI (uiFrame.java) /* * To change this template, choose Tools | Templates * and open the template in the editor. */ /* * uiFrame.java * * Created on Jun 3, 2010, 9:33:15 PM */ package barcode; import java.util.logging.Level; import java.util.logging.Logger; import javax.swing.JFileChooser; import javax.swing.UIManager; import javax.swing.UnsupportedLookAndFeelException; import net.sourceforge.barbecue.output.OutputException; /** * * @author masnun */ public class uiFrame extends javax.swing.JFrame { /** Creates new form uiFrame */ public uiFrame() { try { try { // Set cross-platform Java L&F (also called "Metal") UIManager.setLookAndFeel(UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName()); } catch (ClassNotFoundException ex) { Logger.getLogger(uiFrame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } catch (InstantiationException ex) { Logger.getLogger(uiFrame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } catch (IllegalAccessException ex) { Logger.getLogger(uiFrame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } catch (UnsupportedLookAndFeelException ex) { Logger.getLogger(uiFrame.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } } finally { } initComponents(); } /** This method is called from within the constructor to * initialize the form. * WARNING: Do NOT modify this code. • C: getopt with list of acceptable optarg. What is the best practise ?

    - by Xavier Maillard
    Hi, I am writing a C program which is a frontend to a myriad tools. This fronted will be launched like this: my-frontend --action <AN ACTION> As all the tools have the same prefix, let say for this example this prefix is "foo". I want to concatenate "AN ACTION" to this prefix and exec this (if the tool exists). I have written something but my implementation uses strcmp to test that "AN ACTION" is a valid action. Even if this works, I do not like it. So I am looking for a nicer solution that would do the same. The list of possibilities is pretty small (less than 10) and static (the list is "hardcoded") but I am sure there is a more "C-ish" way to do this (using a struct or something like that). As I am not a C expert, I am asking for your help. Regards

  • Creating an element and insertBefore is not working...

    - by sologhost
    Ok, I've been banging my head up against the wall on this and I have no clue why it isn't creating the element. Maybe something very small that I overlooked here. Basically, there is this Javascript code that is in a PHP document being outputted, like somewhere in the middle of when the page gets loaded, NOW, unfortunately it can't go into the header. Though I'm not sure that that is the problem anyways, but perhaps it is... hmmmmm. // Setting the variables needed to be set. echo ' <script type="text/javascript" src="' . $settings['default_theme_url'] . '/scripts/dpShoutbox.js"></script>'; echo ' <script type="text/javascript"> var refreshRate = ', $params['refresh_rate'], '; createEventListener(window); window.addEventListener("load", loadShouts, false); function loadShouts() { var alldivs = document.getElementsByTagName(\'div\'); var shoutCount = 0; var divName = "undefined"; for (var i = 0; i<alldivs.length; i++) { var is_counted = 0; divName = alldivs[i].getAttribute(\'name\'); if (divName.indexOf(\'dp_Reserved_Shoutbox\') < 0 && divName.indexOf(\'dp_Reserved_Counted\') < 0) continue; else if(divName == "undefined") continue; else { if (divName.indexOf(\'dp_Reserved_Counted\') == 0) { is_counted = 0; shoutCount++; continue; } else { shoutCount++; is_counted = 1; } } // Empty out the name attr. alldivs[i].name = \'dp_Reserved_Counted\'; var shoutId = \'shoutbox_area\' + shoutCount; // Build the div to be inserted. var shoutHolder = document.createElement(\'div\'); shoutHolder.setAttribute(\'id\', [shoutId]); shoutHolder.setAttribute(\'class\', \'dp_control_flow\'); shoutHolder.style.cssText = \'padding-right: 6px;\'; alldivs[i].parentNode.insertBefore(shoutHolder, alldivs[i]); if (is_counted == 1) { startShouts(refreshRate, shoutId); break; } } } </script>'; Also, I'm sure the other functions that I'm linking to within these functions work just fine. The problem here is that within this function, the div never gets created at all and I can't understand why? Furthermore Firefox, FireBug is telling me that the variable divName is undefined, even though I have attempted to take care of this within the function, though not sure why. Anyways, I need the created div element to be inserted just before the following HTML: echo ' <div name="dp_Reserved_Shoutbox" style="padding-bottom: 9px;"></div>'; I'm using name here instead of id because I don't want duplicate id values which is why I'm changing the name value and incrementing, since this function may be called more than 1 time. For example if there are 3 shoutboxes on the same page (Don't ask why...lol), I need to skip the other names that I already changed to "dp_Reserved_Counted", which I believe I am doing correctly. In any case, if I could I would place this into the header and have it called just once, but this isn't possible as these are loaded and no way of telling which one's they are, so it's directly hard-coded into the actual output on the page of where the shoutbox is within the HTML. Basically, not sure if that is the problem or not, but there must be some sort of work-around, unless the problem is within my code above... arrg Please help me. Thanks :)

  • Can you open an SPSite object while being within a different site collection?

    - by Chris Stewart
    I'm working on creating a common navigation experience across two site collections in MOSS 2007. I've looked around for various solutions and haven't found anything that fits. Our navigation is dynamic and driven by a number of factors, including audience targeting. Most of what I've found relates to having static XML and that just won't work for our requirements. What I'm down to at the moment is just getting a navigation item from site collection A while in the context of site collection B. Are there reasons I shouldn't be able to just open a navigation item from site collection A and gets its audience? Certainly there could be permissions problems on my end, or code related issues, or things that are in my control. What I'm wondering is if there's something inherent to SharePoint that would not allow this. Something I don't have control over which would force me to travel a different path.

HelloWorld.java:1: class, interface, or enum expected public class HelloWorld ^ 1 error and... javac -cp . HelloWorld.java returns the same. echo $CLASSPATH just returns blank. Thanks for the help.

  • Quickest way to write to file in java

    - by user1097772
    I'm writing an application which compares directory structure. First I wrote an application which writes gets info about files - one line about each file or directory. My soulution is: calling method toFile Static PrintWriter pw = new PrintWriter(new BufferedWriter( new FileWriter("DirStructure.dlis")), true); String line; // info about file or directory public void toFile(String line) { pw.println(line); } and of course pw.close(), at the end. My question is, can I do it quicker? What is the quickest way? Edit: quickest way = quickest writing in the file

  • changing src reference based upon https

    - by spody
    I'm adding a facebook comment widget to a website. I'm placing this widget in a file that is included on everypage. The navigation is relatively linked so it switches back and forth from http and https. But for some reason the comment widget only shows up if both the src linked file and webpage is secure or both the src linked file and webpage is NOT secure. The widget does not display of the src file is secure and the webpage is not secure. So... I've tried this but doesn't work. if (window.location.protocol == 'https:') script.setAttribute('src', 'https://ssl.connect.facebook.com/js/api_lib/v0.4/FeatureLoader.js.php'); } else { script.setAttribute('src', 'http://static.ak.connect.facebook.com/connect.php/en_US') }

If my view was not changed, It would have stopped after the RESTORE_VIEW Phase right? any thoughts?

  • Perfect hash in Scala.

    - by Lukasz Lew
    I have some class C: class C (...) { ... } I want to use it to index an efficient map. The most efficient map is an Array. So I add a "global" "static" counter in companion object to give each object unique id: object C { var id_counter = 0 } In primary constructor of C, with each creation of C I want to remember global counter value and increase it. Question 1: How to do it? Now I can use id in C objects as perfect hash to index array. But array does not preserve type information like map would, that a given array is indexed by C's id. Question 2: Is it possible to have it with type safety?

  • C# Combobox and TabControl woes

    - by Jake
    enter code hereI have a TabControl on a Form and in the TabPages there are ComboBoxes. When the form OnLoad, I populate the ListItems in the ComboBoxes and the attempt to set default values to string.Empty. However, the ComboBox.SelectedText = string.Empty only works for the first TabPage. The other ComboBoxes ignore the command and take the default value as the first item in the list. Why is this so? How can I overcome it? The ComboBoxes are all set up by this function public static void PrepareComboBox(ComboBox combobox, FieldValueList list) { combobox.DropDownStyle = ComboBoxStyle.DropDown; combobox.AutoCompleteSource = AutoCompleteSource.ListItems; combobox.AutoCompleteMode = AutoCompleteMode.Suggest; combobox.DataSource = list.DataSource; combobox.DisplayMember = list.DisplayMember; combobox.ValueMember = list.ValueMember; combobox.Text = string.Empty; combobox.SelectedText = string.Empty; }

  • JSR 275 - Units, Percent per second

    - by I82Much
    Hi all, I need to represent the unit of Percent per second using the JScience.org's JSR 275 units and measures implementation. I am trying to do to the following: Unit<Dimensionless> PERCENT_PER_SECOND = NonSI.PERCENT.divide(Si.SECOND).asType(Dimensionless.class) but I am getting a ClassCastException when I try to do that. The following works, but I'm not sure if there's a better way: public interface PercentOverTime extends Quantity {} public static Unit<PercentOverTime> PERCENT_PER_SECOND = new BaseUnit<PercentOverTime>("%/s"); Any thoughts? The closest I could find to this is the question on Cooking Measurements (which is how I saw how to define your own units).

  • How do I use global resources in WPF?

    - by Banford
    I have a WPF application which I would like to use some static resources in. I have created a Resource Library XAML file which contains a resource. I have also added a string into the Resources of the project through the Properties panel. I assumed I could just use these resources with the binding expression: {StaticResource ResourceName} But visual studio is telling me the resources are not found. Do I have to include some form of reference in my XAML? The examples I have seen only include resources locally such as: <Window.Resources>, <Page.Resources> etc I don't want to include the resources locally because I want them to be available to multiple parts of the application.

    I have just migrated a project of mine for test cases to Microsoft's azure. But for functionalities similar to an avatar upload I need write access to the files on the harddrive. But this is a cloud, so this is not possible. How can I build such functionalities instead? Should I use the Blob Storage or is there a better solution? Does it make sense to store all website images (f.e. layout images) in the Blob Storage? So I would have a Cookie-free Domain for my static content?

  • Compile error with initializer_list when trying to use it to initialize member value of class

    - by ilektron
    I am trying to make a class initializable from an initialization_list in a class constructor's constructor's initialization list. It works for a std::map, but not for my custom class. I don't see any difference other than templates are used in std::map. #include <iostream> #include <initializer_list> #include <string> #include <sstream> #include <map> using std::string; class text_thing { private: string m_text; public: text_thing() { } text_thing(text_thing& other); text_thing(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il); text_thing& operator=(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il); operator string() { return m_text; } }; class static_base { private: std::map<string, string> m_test_map; text_thing m_thing; static_base(); public: static static_base& getInstance() { static static_base instance; return instance; } string getText() { return (string)m_thing; } }; typedef std::pair<const string, const string> spair; text_thing::text_thing(text_thing& other) { m_text = other.m_text; } text_thing::text_thing(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il) { std::stringstream text_gen; for (auto& apair : il) { text_gen << "{" << apair.first << ", " << apair.second << "}" << std::endl; } } text_thing& text_thing::operator=(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il) { std::stringstream text_gen; for (auto& apair : il) { text_gen << "{" << apair.first << ", " << apair.second << "}" << std::endl; } return *this; } static_base::static_base() : m_test_map{{"test", "1"}, {"test2", "2"}}, // Compiler fine with this m_thing{{"test", "1"}, {"test2", "2"}} // Compiler doesn't like this { } int main() { std::cout << "Starting the program" << std::endl; std::cout << "The text thing: " << std::endl << static_base::getInstance().getText(); } I get this compiler output g++ -O0 -g3 -Wall -c -fmessage-length=0 -std=c++11 -MMD -MP -MF"static_base.d" -MT"static_base.d" -o "static_base.o" "../static_base.cpp" Finished building: ../static_base.cpp Building file: ../test.cpp Invoking: GCC C++ Compiler g++ -O0 -g3 -Wall -c -fmessage-length=0 -std=c++11 -MMD -MP -MF"test.d" -MT"test.d" -o "test.o" "../test.cpp" ../test.cpp: In constructor ‘static_base::static_base()’: ../test.cpp:94:40: error: no matching function for call to ‘text_thing::text_thing(<brace-enclosed initializer list>)’ m_thing{{"test", "1"}, {"test2", "2"}} ^ ../test.cpp:94:40: note: candidates are: ../test.cpp:72:1: note: text_thing::text_thing(std::initializer_list<std::pair<const std::basic_string<char>, const std::basic_string<char> > >&) text_thing::text_thing(std::initializer_list< std::pair<const string, const string> >& il) ^ ../test.cpp:72:1: note: candidate expects 1 argument, 2 provided ../test.cpp:67:1: note: text_thing::text_thing(text_thing&) text_thing::text_thing(text_thing& other) ^ ../test.cpp:67:1: note: candidate expects 1 argument, 2 provided ../test.cpp:23:2: note: text_thing::text_thing() text_thing() ^ ../test.cpp:23:2: note: candidate expects 0 arguments, 2 provided make: *** [test.o] Error 1 Output of gcc -v Using built-in specs. Please help me understand what is going on here.

  • Optimize C# Code Fragment

    - by Eric J.
    I'm profiling some C# code. The method below is one of the most expensive ones. For the purpose of this question, assume that micro-optimization is the right thing to do. Is there an approach to improve performance of this method? Changing the input parameter to p to ulong[] would create a macro inefficiency. static ulong Fetch64(byte[] p, int ofs = 0) { unchecked { ulong result = p[0 + ofs] + ((ulong)p[1 + ofs] << 8) + ((ulong)p[2 + ofs] << 16) + ((ulong)p[3 + ofs] << 24) + ((ulong)p[4 + ofs] << 32) + ((ulong)p[5 + ofs] << 40) + ((ulong)p[6 + ofs] << 48) + ((ulong)p[7 + ofs] << 56); return result; } }

  • Notifying when screen is off

    - by Al
    I'm trying to generate a notification which vibrates the phone and plays a sound when the screen is off (cpu turned off). According to the Log messages, the notification is being sent, but the phone doesn't vibrate or play the sound until I turn the screen on again. I tried holding a 2 second temporary wakelock (PowerManager.PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK), which I thought would be ample time for the notification to be played, but alas, it still doesn't. Any pointers to get the notification to run reliably? I'm testing this on an G1 running Android 1.6. Code I'm using: notif.vibrate = new long[] {100, 1000}; notif.defaults |= Notification.DEFAULT_SOUND; notif.ledARGB = Color.RED; notif.ledOnMS = 1; notif.ledOffMS = 0; notif.flags = Notification.FLAG_SHOW_LIGHTS; notif.flags |= NOTIF_FLAGS; //static var if (!screenOn) { //var which updates when screen turns off/on mWakeLock.acquire(2000); } manager.notify(NOTIF_ID, notif);
