  • .htaccess file, IE not working Firefox, Safari & Chrome working

    Hi, I've built a site in Interspire Web Publisher and it was working fine, seems to work in Firefox, Safari and Chrome but when I fired up Internet Explorer 7 & 8 only the home page works, all links to other pages show up nothing. Do you think it could have something to do with the .htaccess file? But why would it work at one point then not another? I did a test new site (its database driven) with 3 small pages and it worked fine on Internet Explorer....very weird! my website: http://www.artandepilepsy.com

  • Unable to output XML data in a manageable way

    I've been given data from a previous version of a website (it was a custom CMS) and am looking to get it into a state that I can import it into my Wordpress site.   • Annotation based view mapping

    I am trying to get my head around annotation based mappings and I am having some trouble mapping requests directly to jsp. Do all request have to go through a controller? Is it possible to make it just go to a jsp without declaring a RequestMapping for GET? I am using a InternalResourceViewResolver.   • Why first arg to execve() must be path to executable

    I understand that execve() and family require the first argument of its argument array to be the same as the executable that is also pointed to by its first argument. That is, in this: execve(prog, args, env); args[0] will usually be the same as prog. But I can't seem to find information as to why this is. I also understand that executables (er, at least shell scripts) always have their calling path as the first argument when running, but I would think that the shell would do the work to put it there, and execve() would just call the executable using the path given in its first argument ("prog" from above), then passing the argument array ("args" from above) as one would on the command line.... i.e., I don't call scripts on the command line with a duplicate executable path in the args list.... /bin/ls /bin/ls /home/john Can someone explain?

My only problem is that when I launch activities, they are relaunched as they were new activities ( for instance, I am writing an email, i press home and go into my activity,launch email, and then the app launch the email bout goes back at the inbox and the email is lost) So that's not true multitasking.     Hello, I am using the following for my customers to unsubscribe from my mailing list; def index @user = User.find_by_salt(params[:subscribe_code]) if @user.nil? flash[:notice] = "the link is not valid...." render :action => 'index' else Notification.delete_all(:user_id => @user.id) flash[:notice] = "you have been unsubscribed....." redirect_to :controller => 'home' end end my link looks like; http://site.com/unsubscribe/32hj5h2j33j3h333 so the above compares the random string to a field in my user table and accordingly deletes data from the notification table. My question; is this approach secure? is there a better/more efficient way for doing this? All suggestions are welcome.

  • VirtualHost problem with passenger (mod_rails)

    Hi all, I'm at my wit's end here with virtual hosting. I'm trying to install redmine and it works with the webrick test server, but when I tried to use passenger (mod_rails) to host and go to the address I specified when in the virtualhost part of my apache config file nothing happens. Here is the relavent section of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf where I try to set up the virtual host: <VirtualHost *:80> SetEnv RAILS_ENV production ServerName redmine.MYSITE.com:80 DocumentRoot /opt/redmine-1.0.5/public/ <Directory /opt/redmine-1.0.5/public/> Options -MultiViews Allow from all AllowOverride none </Directory> However, when I got to redmine.MYSITE.com:80 nothing happens, I just get our normal home page. I have no idea what the problem is, any help our guidance would be greatly appreciated. If you need any other information, please tell me and I'll provide it.

    I need to add a span tag to the title of an actionlink to output the following html <li><a href="#" id="topmenu1" accesskey="1" title=""><span>Homepage</span></a></li> I currently have <li><%= Html.ActionLink("Homepage", "Index", "Home", null, new { @id= "topmenu1" , @accesskey = "1", @title = "" } ) %></li> which gives me <li><a accesskey="1" href="/" id="topmenu1" title="">Homepage</a></li> without the span tag around Homepage I cannot use <span>Homepage</span> as the title variable of the actionlink, that doesn't work.

    The first time I ever used it was at my current job. Among my coworkers, the feelings toward it for usability are mixed. The other developer doesn't really care one way or the other, as long as Office does everything he needs it to do when writing reports. The top manager likes it because it feels natural, and I feel the same way. But another coworker finds in klunky and hard to use (although she admits that she only uses it at home as her machine hasn't been upgraded yet, and that might change if she uses it more often at work). So - is the Ribbon UI really that innovative? What qualities about it make it a good or bad user interface mechanism? Possibly related: Adoption of the Ribbon UI

  • How can I receive messages using C# over http without MSMQ

    I need a reliable messaging framework that runs over http/https (due to client security requirements) and that doesn't use MSMQ (because some clients will use Windows XP Home). The clients only need to be able to receive messages, not send them. We already have a message queue on the server for each user, and the receivers have been getting messages by connecting to an HttpHandler on the server and getting a Stream from WebResponse.GetResponseStream() We keep this stream open, and pull messages off of it using Stream.Read(). This MOSTLY works, but Stream.Read() is a blocking call, and we can't reliably interrupt it. We need to be able to stop and start the receiver without losing messages, but the old stream often hangs around, even after we call Thread.Abort on its thread. Any suggestions?

  • awk / sed script to remove text

    Hi, I am currently needed of way to programmatically remove some text from Makefiles that I am dealing with. Now the problem is that (for whatever reason) the makefiles are being generated with link commands of -l<full_path_to_library>/<library_name> when they should be generated with -l<library_name>. So what I need is a script to find all occurrences of -l/ and then remove up to and including the next /. Example of what I'm dealing with -l/home/user/path/to/boost/lib/boost_filesystem I need it to be -lboost_filesystem As could be imagined this is a stop gap measure until I fix the real problem (on the generation side) but in the meantime it would be a great help to me if this could work and I am not too good with my awk and sed.     I know this has been asked multiple times before, but I've tried those things and still am not having any luck. For the mechanize gem, I keep getting the "Missing these required gems" error when I run db:migrate on my production server.     I'm using a bytea type in PostgreSQL, which, to my understanding, contains just a series of bytes. However, I can't get it to play well with nulls. For example: =# select length(E'aa\x00aa'::bytea); length -------- 2 (1 row) I was expecting 5. Also: =# select md5(E'aa\x00aa'::bytea); md5 ---------------------------------- 4124bc0a9335c27f086f24ba207a4912 (1 row) That's the MD5 of "aa", not "aa\x00aa". Clearly, I'm Doing It Wrong, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm also on an older version of Postgres (8.1.11) for reasons outside of my control. (I'll see if this behaves the same on the latest Postgres as soon as I get home...)

    I am trying to setup IIS on my laptop. I have followed a guide which said to go to: Control Panel Programs Turn Windows Features On / Off Click on IIS. I have done this and my computer now says that IIS is running. However when I visit http://localhost in my browser I get a 'Page Cannot be Displayed' error.     Usually I would use virtualenv and pip for deployment of web applications. With Google App Engine this doesn't work, because all import statement are relative to directory of the application. The most common approach I saw was to simply copy the packages from site-packages to the directory of the application. This involves manual work and is error-prone. Another approach was to changes install_lib and install_scripts in ~/.pydisutils.cfg, but this doesn't allow me to use pip in my home directory simultaneously. Do you have any suggestions for this?

  • keep open windows console after a python syntax error

    File associations on my machine (winxp home) are such that a python script is directly opened with the python interpreter. If I double click on a python script a console window runs and every thing is fine - as long as there is no syntax error in the script. In that case the console window opens up for a moment but it is closed immediately. Too fast to read the error message. Of course their would be the possibility to manually open a console window and to execute the script by typing python myscript.py but I am sure that there is a more convenient (i.e. "double click based") solution.

  • Hierarchical Hibernate, how many queries are executed?

    So I've been dealing with a home brew DB framework that has some seriously flaws, the justification for use being that not using an ORM will save on the number of queries executed. If I'm selecting all possibile records from the top level of a joinable object hierarchy, how many separate calls to the DB will be made when using an ORM (such as Hibernate)? I feel like calling bullshit on this, as joinable entities should be brought down in one query , right? Am I missing something here? note: lazy initialization doesn't matter in this scenario as all records will be used.

I am thinking about various ways to break that site. I am considering the following scenario: A user creates his own PHP project on his Local machine. User writes a JQuery ajax post request to one of the controllers on my site and tries to post malicious info. I know it takes relative path. Also, is it possible to break any site by sending such requests? Thanks
