MongoDB complex MapReduce of video logs

I have a dataset from video streaming logs. Each video is identified by a FileGUID. The log entries record the FileGUID, the fragment of the video watched and the bandwidth it was watched at. I would like to create a mapreduce outputting, for each video, a count for fragments both total and for each bandwidth. Ideally it would look like; {"FileGUID":"50acb3a5796634df0e073285", { "1":{"total":76, "0832":34, "1028":42}, "2":{"total":42, "0832":28, "1028":14}, ... } } Is this possible with one mapreduce or is it a multi-step process, or should I use a different method? Android Loading Screen: How do I go about using a stack to load elements, and the option of incrementing the size counter?

I have some problems with figuring out what value I should put in the function: int value_needed_to_figure_out = X; ProgressBar.incrementProgressBy(value_needed_to_figure_out); I've been researching about loading screens and how to use them. Some examples I've seen have implemented Thread.sleep() in a Handler.post(new Runnable()) function. To me, I got most of that concept of using the Handler to update the ProgressBar, while pretending to do some heavy crunching work. So, I kept looking. I have read this thread here: How do I load chunks of data from an assest manager during a loading screen? It said that I can try using a stack it needs to load, and adding a size counter as I add elements to the stack. What does it mean? This is the part where I'm totally stumped. If anyone would provide some hints, I'll gladly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and despite using 'gnome-power-manager' to set dpms_method_ac to 'off' for backlight, the screen will not enter standby after set time. Also, "Put display to sleep when inactive for:" (via System-Preferences-Power Management) is already set to 1 minute. Interestingly enough, this only happens when I am logged in. When I am logged out, the screen does go into standby after set time. So I know it's not the screen... Any idea how make Ubuntu 8 screen saver enter screen into standby, while logged in?

I am trying to install VMWare Workstation 6.5.5 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 10.04 (64-bit), but at about 2/3 of the progress bar, it freezes where it says: Installing VMWare Player 2.5.5 Configuring... Interestingly, it is so frozen, that even after I hit cancel, it is still stuck. CPU consumption is at 0% and the command with which I launched the installer is: sudo sh VMware-Workstation-6.5.5-328052.x86_64.bundle Anyone has seen this before? Any idea why this is happening and how to solve this?

I have I have a div called logo. I want the logo to be on top of other areas and to overlap into the the preface top of a drupal site, the logo currently sits in the header area. I looked up position absolute and I think that what I need to use but when I use position absolute the logo disappears, I can see it if I use position fixed, relative etc. I thought the logo was being hidden because I was not using a z-index but even with that I cant see the logo. Suckerfish Menu Not Working. Nested UL not displaying block

I'm going out of my mind with this one. I'm trying to build a suckerfish css drop down menu. I have the first level working ok but I can't get the nested ul (under the Glossary tab) to display in block format and show my a background color. I've been at this for three days and I'm about to go crazy. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. How to get nested chain of objects in Linq and MVC2 application?

I am getting all confused about how to solve this problem in Linq. I have a working solution, but the code to do it is way too complicated and circular I think: I have a timesheet application in MVC 2. I want to query the database that has the following tables (simplified): Project Task TimeSegment The relationships are as follows: A project can have many tasks and a task can have many timesegments. I need to be able to query this in different ways. An example is this: A View is a report that will show a list of projects in a table. Each project's tasks will be listed followed by a Sum of the number of hours worked on that task. The timesegment object is what holds the hours. I sense there must be a much easier way to achieve what I want. Basically you can tell from the View what I want to achieve: I want to get a collection of projects. Each project should have it's associated collection of tasks. And each task should have it's associated collection of timesegments for the specified date period. Note that the projects and tasks selected must also only be the projects and tasks that have the timesegments for this period. I don't want all projects and tasks that have no timesegments within this period. It seems the group by Linq query beginning the GetProjects() method sort of achieves this (if extended to have the conditions for date and so on), but I can't return this and pass it to the view, because it is an anonymous object. I also tried creating a specific type in such a query, but couldn't wrap my head around that either... I hope there is something I'm missing and there is some easier way to achieve this, because I need to be able to do several other different queries as well eventually. I also don't really like the way I solved it with the "CurrentTimeSegments" properties and so on. These properties don't really exist on the model objects in the first place, I added them in partial classes to have somewhere to put the filtered results for each part of the nested object chain... Any ideas?

I recently saw a post on the MSDN forum asking how to edit an existing package programmatically, and the sticking point was how to find the the data flow and the components inside. This post builds on some of the previous code and shows how you can explore all objects inside a package. I took the sample Task Search application I’d written previously, and came up with a totally pointless little console application that just walks through the package and writes out the basic type and name of every object it finds, starting with the package itself e.g. Package – MyPackage . LAN Cables Hathway Internet connection which allows only 1 login to access internet What I want Is it possible to access internet on PC, laptop, mobiles at the same time with only one connection? Since I don't know even A of networking so please suggest some software which require minimum cofiguration. Let me know if any other hardware I require.

WhatsApp & Tasker for Android – Read & Write messages

So, I finally gave up on all my previous the Microsoft Mobile/Phone OS devices and made my switch to Android this year. I am using my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 with CyanogenMod 9.1.0 (http://get.cm/get/jenkins/7086/cm-9.1.0-n7000.zip) and ClockworkMod 6.0.1.2 (http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-n7000.zip) since August this year and I am so happy with the performance and the flexibility it offers me. As a software developer by profession, I would expect most of my gadget to be highly customizable and programmable (one time or at intervals) to suit my needs as close as it can. I was introduced to Automation for Android – Tasker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en) via reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/tasker) and the word ‘automation’ was enough for me to dive right into this app. Only automation that I did earlier was switching profiles depending on location on there phones. And now, just imagine a complete set of possibilities that can be automate on the phone or via the phone. I did my research and found a couple of other tools that do the same/as close as what Tasker can do and few of them are even free. There’s one even by Microsoft called on{X} (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.onx.app&hl=en). Microsoft’s on{X} really caught my eye. You can write code for your phone on the web application by them, deploy it on your phone and even trace the flow all using your PC. Really brilliant, I love the fact that it’s all JavaScript. Here comes the but, it is still very very young and it’s policy of accessing my News Feed on Facebook is not something that I can not digest. On{X} is good, but as I said earlier, the API is not very mature and hence, I gave up on it. I bought Tasker, the best 5,00 € I spent in ages and I want to talk about it in this post. I am still a “noob” while operating this tool, but I tried my shot at automating WhatsApp (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp&hl=en), a popular messenger for various platform. The requirement for the automation is that, if I send a WhatsApp ‘wru’ message to the phone, it should respond back giving the location and battery level of my phone. It could be useful, if you like to locate your misplaced phone or automatically reply to your partner/friend, honestly, I don’t know what you will use it - through this post, I am just introducing automating WhatsApp using Tasker. Before we begin, the following script only works when your phone is rooted as we will be accessing the WhatsApp database and type some special characters like ‘:’. What are the Options for Storing Hierarchical Data in a Relational Database?

Cheap node moves, inserts, and deletes. Expensive to find level (can store as a computed column), ancestry & descendants (Bridge Hierarchy combined with level column can solve), path (Lineage Column can solve). Use Common Table Expressions in those databases that support them to traverse. Nested Set (a.k.a Modified Preorder Tree Traversal) First described by Joe Celko - covered in depth in his book Trees and Hierarchies in SQL for Smarties Columns: Left, Right Cheap level, ancestry, descendants Compared to Adjacency List, moves, inserts, deletes more expensive. Requires a specific sort order (e.g. created). So sorting all descendants in a different order requires additional work. Nested Intervals Combination of Nested Sets and Materialized Path where left/right columns are floating point decimals instead of integers and encode the path information. Bridge Table (a.k.a.
