  I am using asp.net. I have taken one Hidden value and assigning value to that hidden variable in Java-script. aspx: <input type="hidden" runat="server" id="hdnProductionIds" value="0" name="hdnProductionIds" /> JS: document.getElementById("ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_hdnProductionIds").value = "123"; I want to use that hidden value in server side coding(vb.net). • Are browsers permitted to render <li>s in any order?

  As I understand the XML spec, the significance of the order of child elements is not guaranteed. XML parsers tend to keep child elements in the same order as they occur in the XML document, but they are under no obligation to do so. If that's so, then are browsers free to render the <li>s in an <ol> or an <ul> in a different order than they occur in the XHTML? Or is it specified in the XHTML spec somewhere that order has to be preserved? I realise that all major browsers will respect the order of my <li>s. I'm just interested in the academic question of whether or not they are technically obliged to.

  Hi, Html entities must be encoded in alt attribute of an image in HTML page. So <img id="formula" alt="A &rarr; B" src="formula.png" /> will work well. On the other hand, the same JavaScript code will not work document.getElementById('formula').alt = 'A &rarr; B'; and will produce A &rarr; B instead of A → B. How to do it through JavaScript, when it is not possible to put the special (unencoded) characters in the source code?

And, I believe that might be interesting for people where I live (Internet is not developed - but the cellphone networks are much better). So here are my questions: Where can I find documentation for beginners on that matter (And most importantly) Am I gonna be able to take advantage of acquired knowledge in .NET framework (C#, MVC, JQuery, XHTML, ...)? Am I gonna need my laptop or a special device to develop applications? Am I gonna need Visual Studio? And so on...   Hey all. I am adding text to a textArea via Javascript in Chrome (doing it a totally different way in Firefox/IE as Chrome does not support contentWindows). It would be streaming in the sense that it would be very lazy and not read things in until needed. It would also be streaming in the sense that it would read everything forwards (but not backwards). Now I have to write it as: let rec sublist list i j = if i j then [] else (List.nth list i) :: (sublist list (i+1) j) which is quite concise but I'm questioning the efficiency of List.nth, because if it's O(n), I would rather have to write it in a less concise way. I'm wondering why didn't they provide List.sublist func, if List.nth is not O(1), because it's such a quite common operation..

Load method works for me, because i need to load not the whole document, but just a part of it, but then again, i want to load to variable and not to some dom element. $.get can do this, but it doesn't support selectors. Is there any way I could make this? • Loading LLVM passes on Cygwin

  I am trying to write an LLVM pass on Windows using Cygwin. When I make the project, a dll gets created in the Release/bin directory instead of a .so file in the Release/lib directory. The latter is what is shown in the LLVM document.   I am having a find a replace in a bunch of RTF documents, The basic pattern I need is \{(?:\\\*)?\\field\\fldlock\{\\\*\\fldinst ?MERGEFIELD ?((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?)(?:\\.*?)?\}(?:\{\\fldrslt\})?\} However I then found out there could potentialy be a newline before each slash, so it turned in to this. \{(?:\s*\\\*)?\s*\\field\s*\\fldlock\s*\{\s*\\\*\s*\\fldinst\s*MERGEFIELD\s*((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?(?:\s*\\.*?)?)?\s*\}(?:\s*\{\s*\\fldrslt\s*\})?\s*\} But then I hit this it fails fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot Is there way have to have it match a new line anywhere in the search too without adding (?:\r?\n)? everywhere? EDIT To clear up confusion on the new lines. I need to keep the newlines in the document, I only want to remove the newlines if they are inside my match, so in the final example I posted it should replace fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot with fees totaling $\protect ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYFEES\plain\f0\fs24\prot
