• Little (Employee - Shift) SQL Database help

  Hi Guys, Im creating a little database that has employee, emp_shift, shift, tables now im suppose to be able to calculate at the end of the month which employee has done the most number of shifts. Ive created the SQL creation, insert statements for the tables, and a little diagram to explain what im trying to acomplish, im a beginner and this is a homework ive been trying to do for the last 4 days.   Hay, i have a field in one of my models which saves the creation date of an object created_on = models.DateTimeField(blank=False, auto_now_add=True) This works as expected. In my templates i want to list objects like this June 15 {{ objects here which was created on June 15 }} June 14 {{ objects here which was created on June 14 }} etc Any idea how i would go about doing this?   I have never spent much time debugging multithreaded .NET apps (or others), and have quite a simple one to solve very quickly. Ideally I would imagined and would lurve to be able to intercept thread creation and use by worker objects, so that nothing unexpected happens while I'm on a breakpoint in my thread. Is that realistic? What else is there in VS 2010?

To elaborate what we are discussing is, at application creation open a sql connection and at application close or error closing the sql connection.   What exactly does setting the length on a column do in JPA? @Column(name = "middle_name", nullable = false, length = 32) public String getMiddleName() { return this.middleName; } I understand that you can use the annotations to generate the database schema based on the entity objects, but does length do any sort of check or truncation when persistence happens, or it solely used for schema creation? I also realize that JPA can sit on top of various implementations, the implementation I am concerned with in this case, is Hibernate.

It's possible for nested classes (JDefinedClass API provides methods that get modifiers as parameters). But for creation of top level classes I found only JCodeModel API methods that get fully qualified name with or without ClassType (class/interface/annotation/enum) as parameters. Does anybody can suggest me how to change modifiers of JDefinedClass to make it abstract?

There is of course 'cookieless' which puts it in the url, but that doesn't work for me either. So i'd like to override the session handling so I can specify where it should look for the sessionID.

  I have a complex XSD schema and hundreds of XML files conforming to the schema. How do I automate the creation of related SQL Server tables to store the XML data? I've considered creating C# classes from the XSD schema using the xsd.exe tool and letting something like Subsonic figure out how to make a shiny database out of it, but not sure if it's the best way to approach it. Has anyone managed to elegantly import XSD files into SQL Server?

  PHP brings a class for ZIP file manipulation. It also allows the creation of directories with addEmptyDir() and the deletion of an entry with deleteName(). But the deletion does not work on directories (empty or not). Is there any way to delete empty folders in a ZIP file (prefered is buildin PHP functionality)?
