• Array in Bash Not Found

  I am trying to declare an array in bash, but when the code is run it says it cannot find the array. I have tried to write out the declaration of the array in several different ways, but it seems no matter how I try to declare it I cannot get it to work. I originally tried to declare it as such: candidate[1]= 0 candidate[2]= 0 candidate[3]= 0 The error messages that are returned are: votecalculation.sh: 13: candidate[1]=: not found votecalculation.sh: 14: candidate[2]=: not found votecalculation.sh: 15: candidate[3]=: not found After this I tried another solution I found online: ARRAY=( 'can1' 'can2' 'can3' ) When that is used it returns this error: votecalculation.sh: 12: Syntax error: "(" unexpected I am new to Bash and am getting really confused about arrays. Is there some specific way I need to declare an array or am I just going about it completely wrong?

• Leverage cloud and programming to share GB's of photos

  My friends and I went on a trip and we have over 8 GB of photos we want to share. We live in different geographic locations and all of us (14 people) have a part of the 8 GB. I was wondering if there's a way to leverage my php skills to share all these photos. My current plan is to make a simple site that you can upload a bunch of files and also list those files for people to download (probably a compressed folder of a bunch of selected ones) but was wondering if there's a better way or if I'm grossly underestimating scalability issues. All of us have high speed internet (essentially T1) and I was planning on using Amazon EC2 since this is a heavy task but for a short time period. That's also the reason I can't use dropbox or similar services since they have a 2GB cap (and I don't want to have everyone sign up and install something). I also don't want to set up anything too tricky since not all of them are tech savvy.

  I have hourly weather data. I've seen the function examples from here: http://casoilresource.lawr.ucdavis.edu/drupal/node/991 I'm altering the code to account for airport data, which has a different URL type. Another issue with the airport weather data is that the time data is saved in 12 hour format.   Given this table: Order custName description to_char(price) A desa $14 B desb $14 C desc $21 D desd $65 E dese $21 F desf $78 G desg $14 H desh $21 I am trying to display the whole row where prices have the highest occurances, in this case $14 and $21 I believe there needs to be a subquery. So i started out with this: select max(count(price)) from orders group by price which gives me 3. after some time i didn't think that was helpful. i believe i needed the value 14 and 21 rather the the count so i can put that in the where clause. but I'm stuck how to display that. any help?

• Delays in .net app when connecting to oracle db using Oracle.DataAccess

  I have a .net desktop app that connects to an oracle database. At times, there are very noticable delays. I ran a trace on the code, and it was always in the DataReader.Read(). I turned on sql tracing, and found the following, which corresponds to the delays I'm seeing: (2128) [23-MAR-2010 13:00:07:310] nsprecv: reading from transport... (2128) [23-MAR-2010 13:00:07:310] nttrd: entry (2128) [23-MAR-2010 13:00:24:655] nttrd: socket 676 had bytes read=2047 (2128) [23-MAR-2010 13:00:24:655] nttrd: exit (2128) [23-MAR-2010 13:00:24:655] nsprecv: 2047 bytes from transport There's about a 14 second pause in there. I'm pretty sure that there's not a problem in the code, but not sure where to look at next. Is there anyone out there with experience with oracle trace that can explain what's going on?

  I am working on a .NET 2.0 application targetting the WM5 SDK, what is the correct way to disable the gesture functionality when running on a WM6.5.3 device that only affects the forms I am using? This is causing an issue when I have a signature capture control inside a tab control - when the signature is entered it's quite common for the tab control to switch tabs as WM6.5.3 picks it up as a gesture. I don't want to disable the gesture functionality device wide, nor can I upgrade the application to target the WM6.5.3 SDK as it still needs to work on older devices. Cheers

BUT, only the first CREATE TABLE statement is executed. I get no syntax errors. Erm, am I missing the MSSQL equivalent of GO ? • Reliably detect caller domain over cURL request?

  OK so server-side security is not my forte. Basically, I'm building a service which users may use (via an SDK) only on the domain they stipulated when they signed up. The SDK calls my web service over cURL in PHP. Would I be right in thinking I cannot reliably detect the caller domain, i.e. enforce that it is the same domain they stipulated when signing up? cURL of course sends this over headers, but headers can always (?) be faked. Is there a better course of action to enforce domain for this sort of thing? (NB I'm already using an API key, too - it's just I wanted to restrict domain, too) Thanks in advance

I have a good bit of source code I want to share. I'd like for it to be easy. I'd like for it to have syntax highlighting, by this I mean coloring and formatting Ideally it would allow me some room to make it "fit" into my site. • How can I get Syslogging to work on the JVM?

  I want to do syslogging from Java. There is a log4j appender, but it doesn't seem to work (for me anyway ... though Google results show many others with this issue still unresolved).   I am running the demo application that is supplied with the facebook-ios-sdk. The application starts in the emulator, with a LogIn button. I click the button which then launches safari to grant access to the application. I log in with my fb creds and allow the application. I am the administrator for the application and I have verified I put in the right app key. After I allow access, it says "Safari cannot open the page because the address in invalid"...this is the url it's trying to go to: http://www.facebook.com/connect/uiserver.php... So am I missing something because the breakpoint for (void)fbDidLogin never gets hit...

I'm doing this by subclassing ImageView and overloading onDraw() @Override protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { canvas.save(); canvas.scale(0.92f,0.92f); canvas.translate(14, 0); canvas.rotate(1,0,0); super.onDraw(canvas); canvas.restore(); } The problem is that the image that results shows a bunch of jaggies. How can I antialias an ImageView that I need to rotate in order to eliminate jaggies? Is there a better way to do this?

  Hello, I have any array $num_list = array(42=>'0',44=>'0',46=>'0',48=>'0',50=>'0',52=>'0',54=>'0',56=>'0',58=>'0',60=>'0'); and I want to change specific values as I go through a loop while(list($pq, $oin) = mysql_fetch_row($result2)) { $num_list[$oin] = $pq; } So I want to change like 58 to 403 rather then 0. However I always end up getting just the last change and non of the earlier ones. So it always ends up being something like 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,403 rather then 14,19,0,24,603,249,0,0,0,403 How can I do this so it doesn't overwrite it? Thanks
