    I have a few computers connected through a Gigabit router which show 1Gbps connections. However, one of the computers only shows 100Mbps connectivity even though it is capable of 1Gbps. I am not seeing an errors in the event viewer. Computer Specs Windows XP SP3 x86 A8N-SLI Premium MoBo Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller Driver: Marvell v11.24.3.3 (2/15/2010) Networking Specs Netgear RangeMax Premium Wireless-N Gigabit Router (WNR3500) CAT6 wiring Question: How can I configure the above computer to run at 1Gbps connectivity like the others?

  • Windows Server 2003 Is there a limit on number of TCP connections per process?

    We are running into issues with BizTalk host instance intermittently going down. One of the things that we are worried about is the number of FTP connections a single host instance is making which could easily reach into the hundreds perhaps sometimes thousands, depending on traffic. My question is Windows Server 2003 Is there a limit on number of TCP connections per process? If so would putting each application in it's own host instance potentially solve the problem.

  • Exchange2010 has Private Machine Name and IP in outbound SMTP - How to remove?

    We have a domain (domain.local) that has IP Addresses in the 10.10.10.* range. In the outbound SMTP server traffic, I see the internal machine name (exchange.domain.local), and the internal ip address (10.10.10.55). The question is, how do you remove this header from exchange, or change it to have the external machine name/ip addresses. I am not talking about the HELO / EHLO handshake as part of the protocol. Please help.

    This is a question on behalf of my friend. His kid brother installed a password on his windows 7 home premium desktop and now he forgot. How does he get in? Since the data is backed up into a flash drive, i suggested nuking using DBAN and reinstalling OS. To complicate matters further, his CD drive doesn't work. In that case, what options does he have available to recover his password? Can DBAN be run from a bootable pendrive?

  • Can I boot my notebook via eSata pci-xpress card?

    I would like to boot directly from an external hard disk to improve performance over my internal notebook hard disk. My notebook has no native eSata jack but a pci express card. As my BIOS doesn't support the card on boot time so no way directly booting it. My question is, is it possible to work around this issue by using an USB stick or similar with a boot loader like grub and if so, will this only work for Linux or Windows as well?

If I would switch to another device and/or client, I would need to search for the last unread tweet, which is sometimes complicated (too many tweets). So, the question: Is there a client who can keep the status (read/unread) on tweets across multiple devices? My target systems would be now Android and MS Windows, but also Linux might be handy.

    I was just going through some all-in-one desktop PCs (Dell Studio One, HP Touch Smart, Lenovo IdeaCenter, etc.) and their specs really look good (4 GB RAM, 2.x GHz Core 2 Duo, etc.) Are there any disadvantages of such PCs as a developer machine? I mostly do Java (Eclipse + MySQL + Tomcat / JBoss) or .NET (Visual Studio + MsSQL) development. Edit: One common question I could see is harddrive size and that's around 320 GB 7200 RPM.

The card I am looking at is this one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173708, with the main aim being to play blu-ray films. In the product description it states that the card has 7.1 audio channel support, does this mean it will play the sound from the blu-ray through the HDMI, or do I need a separate sound card?

    It is always suggested on first step to disable the remote root login for the SSH protocol. I have a low-right user able to connect via SSH and once connected, I simply su in order to gain more rights. Now when using a sFTP client, I use my low-right user and am thus able to do next to nothing. My question is : Is it possible to change user after login using 3rd party client, such as Transmit, Cyberduck, Filezilla ? PS : Mac clients would be great ;)

    After reading a bit about interVLAN routing got a doubt regarding how trunking takes place at router and at switch.In case of switch we configure a port interface as trunk port and say all vlan's are allowed here but in case of router we configure sub interface as trunk saying particular vlan belongs to particular subinterface .Can't we configure only a single port interface on router just like Switch and say all vlan's are allowed here on this interface ,why to go for sub interfaces?     In IIS 7, is there a way to set two urls on the same site to allow http and https, and the rest to be https only? - http://mysite/url1 or https://mysite/url1 is accepted and stays on that protocol. - http://mysite/url2 or https://mysite/url2 is accepted and stays on that protocol. - any other item, i.e. http://mysite/whatever redirects to https://mysite/whatever - https://mysite/whatever is accepted.   • My monitor made a noise and is now dimmer - can I repair this myself?

    I have a Samsung SyncMaster T190 LCD monitor which I've had for about 5 years. It hissed slightly then went dim (readable but the top half of the screen is less bright). I'm pretty sure that after 5 years of service it's just got to the point where something's burned out, so my question is can I repair this myself, or should I just get a new monitor. I'm currently a student so self repair would be a better option if cost effective.

    I have a Mint install (Fantastic stats, if you were wondering) and I would like to move over to Lighttpd for my server needs. Unfortunatly, this means that php_auto_prepend is no longer easily available. I understand that PHP can do this in the php.ini file, but I have areas that can't have this value prepended so that's out of the question. Is there a lighttpd way to prepend my script for my mint install in some files, and have it disabled for others?

    When saving a document in Office, you are given the option of saving locally or to your SkyDrive account. Presumably, it's possible to add additional locations to this menu (Dropbox, etc.). Is this possible in the Live Preview, and how does one accomplish this? Edit: when I asked this question, I was not logged into a Live account.     This question already has an answer here: What do green folders mean in Windows 7 Explorer? 2 answers I downloaded a .zip file the other day and extracted it using 7zip from my desktop to my laptop over my home network, when it finished, its filename and the filename of its contents was green. What does this mean, can i revert it to normal, has anything been modified and is there a list somewhere of color codes for windows file names.. ? (I can recall seeing blue somewhere before).
