    Hi there, I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and have a DataTable with two columns and some rows that I want to output to the console. I hoped there would be something like: DataTable results = MyMethod.GetResults(); Console.WriteLine (results.ToString()); What's the best way (i.e. least amount of coding from me) to convert a simple DataTable to a string? Looking at the CUPS source code it seems it is ready for Visual Studio compilation, but I did not find any trace of an actual supported package. I'd like to set up a CUPS server on Windows so that I can print form Linux/MacOSX/Win clients to printers I set up on this server.

    In all examples I can find as well as the automatically generated code i Visual Studio, events are set using the following code: button1.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.button1_Click); But I can also write it visually cleaner by omitting the constructor wrapper: button1.Click += this.button1_Click; Which also compile fine. What is the difference between these two? And why is the first one mostly used/preferred?

  • How can I display different icons for same file extension

    Visual Studio has *.SLN files for 2008, and 2010. In explorer, the icon associated with the file is based on the version somehow. I was always under the impression that the associated icon just looked at the extension, but obviously there is more going on. I'm asking on stack overflow as a developer - for my application, but if you feel this belongs on another forum, I'm happy to move the discussion elsewhere. Thank you!

Integration with Visual Studio and/or resharper is a plus and I have nothing against easy setup or a pointer to a tutorial. When the first background worker completes and the RunWorkerCompleted event is fired, on which thread will that event fire, the UI or the first background worker from which RunWorkerAsync was called?   • How to parse a date from an SSIS Excel filename

    I want to use the foreach container to iterate through a folder matching something like: "Filename_MMYYYY.xls". That's easy enough to do; but I can't seem to find a way to parse the MMYYYY from the filename and add it to a variable (or something) that i can use as a lookup field for my DimDate table. It seems possible with a flat file data source, but not an excel connection. I'm using Visual Studio 2005. Please help!

    GUID are generated by the combination of numbers and characters with a hyphen. eg) {7B156C47-05BC-4eb9-900E-89966AD1430D} In Visual studio, we have the 'Create GUID' tool to create it. I hope the same can be created programmatically through window APIs. How GUIDs are made to be unique? Why they don't use any special characters like #,^ etc... Also Is it possible to design our own algorithm to create unique GUIDs?
