  • Excel VBA: NetworkDays Error 2015

    Hi All, I have the this bit of code in a VBA class which is to workout the number of days between a property of the class (a date) and today’s date. Dim EmailDate As Date EmailDate = Me.Email.DateReceived Debug.Print EmailDate, Date Debug.Print NetworkDays(EmailDate), Date, Range("BankHolidays")) When I run it I get the following output 23/04/2010 19/05/2010 [GetMacroRegId] 'NETWORKDAYS' < [GetMacroRegId] 'NETWORKDAYS' -> '699990072' > Error 2015 I have tested it in a module, using dummy data, and get the correct answer. Can anyone see why this would be giving an error in a class? I have referenced atpvbaen.xls. Edit: I have found that when I run the code through a menu option I have created on the menu bar it fails, but when I run it via a button or through the VB Editor it works fine. Looks like it is something to do with the menu. Thanks, Martin

    Hi everybody, I installed NetBeans 6.8 and tried to run the GlasshFish V3 server. I'm working under Windows Vista 32 Bits. First, it won't run.     There are plenty of questions/answers about what an architect does, but what should someone in an Architect role NOT do? What are the boundaries/limits to maintain to be an effective Architect? I'm thinking here of Architect vs Developer and Architect vs Project Manager For example, I'm finding myself in a role where my title is Architect but I am also the coding/development lead and project manager on multiple small enterprise projects. I'm struggling with all the task switching and now I want to limit task switching. Trying to wear every hat just isn't working. What tasks should an Architect not do at all? What tasks should an Architect limit? I do think an Architect needs to keep coding, but how to define an appropriate limit for coding work?

    Hi All, I'm trying to work out a query that self join itself on a table using the eventnumber. I've never done a self join before. What i'm trying to query is when a client has started off in a city which is chester to see what city they moved to. But I dont want to be able to see if they started off in another city. I would also like be only see the move once (So i'd only like to see if they went from chester to london rather then chester to london to wales) The StartTimeDate is the same EndDateTime if they moved to another city.     I posted a question a couple of days ago (SQL Reporting Services Daylight saving time query) which was I received an answer for (thanks very much) but did not elaborate on the whole problem I am experiencing. Not only did I require the returned date time format to account for day light saving but I also need the search parameter @StartDate to allow for DST. Currently if I key in a scheduled start time of 31/03/2010 11:00 and because the SQL DB has already taken the hours difference into consideration I get no results back. If I key in 31/03/2010 10:00 then the correct details are returned. Is there away using T-SQL or the like to get the search parameter to pass the adjusted time to the DB?

    Hello there! After whittling down of the options we've encountered a problem with PNG's and ActionScript 3 (AS3). When loading a PNG 8 or PNG 32 with alpha transparancy we're getting the following error reported in Flash:- "Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type" Now, we're dealing with some legacy images, and it appears as though this problem isn't universal - some images believed to be 32bit alpha PNG are loading. BUT, some conclusions:- converting one image that was 32 bit alpha (NOT WORKING IN AS3) to PNG 8 index transparency DID work. And converting that same image to PNG 8 alpha DID NOT work.   • How to make strtotime parse dates in Australian (i.e. UK) format: dd/mm/yyyy?

    I can't beleive I've never come across this one before. Basically, I'm parsing the text in human-created text documents and one of the fields I need to parse is a date and time. Because I'm in Australia, dates are formatted like dd/mm/yyyy but strtotime only wants to parse it as a US formatted date. Also, exploding by / isn't going to work because, as I mentioned, these documents are hand-typed and some of them take the form of d M yy. I've tried multiple combinations of setlocale but no matter what I try, the language is always set to US English. I'm fairly sure setlocale is the key here, but I don't seem to be able to strike upon the right code. Tried these: au au-en en_AU australia aus Anything else I can try?   • Reading Excel spreadsheets with Delphi

    I need to read from and write to Excel spreadsheets using Delphi 2010. Nothing fancy. Just reading and writing values from specific cells and ranges on different sheets. Needs to work without having Excel installed and support Excel 2007. Some things I've looked at: I've tried using ADO, which works OK for selecting everything in an entire sheet, but I haven't had much luck reading specific cells or ranges. NativeExcel looked promising, but it doesn't seem to be in active development, and they don't respond to e-mails. Axolot has a couple of products. The main product seems to be very functional, but is pricey. They have a lite version, but it doesn't support Delphi 2010. Any recommendations? Free would be great, but I'm open to a commercial solution as long as it's reliable and well supported.

If it has a NOT before word or quoted words it belongs to NotWords If it has 0 or more more spaces before the word or quoted phrase it belongs to AllWords. So the end result should be something similar to: AllWords: (energy, food, "olympics 2010") AnyWords: (terrorism, "government", cups) NotWords: (Transport) What would be a good way to do this?

    I am finding a lot of useful help here today, and I really appreciate it. This should be the last one for the day: I have a list of the top 10 keywords per site, sorted by visits, by date. The records need to be sorted as follows (excuse the formatting): 2010-05 2010-04 site1.com keyword1 apples wine keyword1 visits 100 12 keyword2 oranges water keyword2 visits 99 10 site2.com keyword1 blueberry cornbread keyword1 visits 90 100 keyword2 squares biscuits keyword2 visits 80 99 Basically what I need to accomplish involves grouping, but I can't seem to figure it out. Am I heading down the right path, or is there another way to achieve this, or is it just impossible?

  • Rails can't render polymorphic associations to XML?

    When I render XML with an :include clause for a polymorphic association I have, it doesn't work. I end up with the XML returning the object pointers instead of the actual objects, like: <posts> #<Comment:0x102ed1540>#<Comment:0x102ecaa38>#<Comment:0x102ec7fe0>#<Comment:0x102ec3cd8> </posts> Yet as_json works! When I render JSON with :include clause, the associations are rendered correctly and I get something like: posts":[ {"type":"Comment","created_at":"2010-04-20T23:02:30-07:00","id":7,"content":"fourth comment"}, {"type":"Comment","created_at":"2010-04-20T23:02:26-07:00","id":6,"content":"third comment"}] My current workaround is using XML builder, but I'm not too comfortable with that in the long run. Does anyone happen to know about this issue? I'm kind of in a catch-22 because while XML doesn't render the associations, as_json doesn't render in a kosher json format (returns an array rather than a list of hashes as proper json should) and the deserializer I'm using on the client side would require modification to parse the json correctly.

  • Do not compile t4 file

    Suddenly, after doing a TFS 2010 get, Visual Studio 2010 is attempting to compile my .tt file as if it was c#. Moreover, anytime I set it to "Build Action=None", Build Action gets mysteriously reset to Compile. This is breaking our builds on the desktop. I can get builds to work on the desktop by closing then reopening VS. Our builds on TFS are totally broken because of this. What to do? The template generates a (totally ok) c# file, so I need the project to build. I tried changing the file extension from .tt to .donotbuilddammit but that had no effect.

    Google.com vs Google.ca vs Google.co.uk (etc) all rank their results differently. The intention is to return more locally-relevant content. What factors, other than the ones below, are used to determine local relevancy? I already know the TLD (.com, .ca, etc) and likely the server IP address is used but there has to be more as this would not explain some search results I noticed this week. Particularly, I see a US-based site ranking #3 for some keywords on Google.com, ranking #5 on Google.ca and not ranking within the first pages on Google.co.uk. On Google.com it outranks a Australian site which outranks it on Google.ca. The site itself is relevant for all English-speaking locations and it being outranked by sites from different regions on different Google TLDs (but not ones from the same region as the TLD).

  • How to coach a developer with dyslexia to improve his spelling and grammar capabilities?

    Just having read this question regarding developers with dyslexia, I still have some open questions on how to deal with it: I am working on a project sinc approx. 6 month with a new developer who just finished university. I see that the code quality is high, what he's missing is the ability to write texts (even short ones) in an error-free manner (both, syntax and grammar errors). He is working on some UI stuff (VS.NET 2010, ASP.NET 4) and, beside coding, has to write short text for labels, buttons, grid view headers, page titles, etc. Since even those texts have errors inside, no matter how much I try to discuss the need for a professional, text-error-free UI, he seems to not manage to get this right, although he really tries. So my questions are: Are there any hints how he (or I) should proceed to enhance the text quality? Do you know any tools (like inline spell checkers) for VS.NET to highlight syntax and grammar errors? (We are working on a German-only UI, if this is important to know)

    I'm working on a version of this bubble chart http://vallandingham.me/vis/gates/. As I'm using a different set of data - instead of the "All Grants" and "Grants by Year" buttons - I have one for 5 consecutive years - 2010, 2009 etc. My opening graph depicts the data for 2010 which is achieved by filtering the data from the .csv file , which contains the data for all 5 years. The problem I'm having is filtering and re-rendering the graph if another year is then chosen. I'd really appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions how I could simply achieve this? Thanks, Majella
