• C# Desktop Application "Encounters an error and has to exit" on first run of the day

  Hello, It seems I tend to attract strange issues. This time, I have written a C# application, and handled most of the exceptions I can find. The problem is, when I run the installed/bundled version on any PC for the first time in a day (after the PC has been shut down and started after a while) it comes across some error and has to shutdown the application (even though the try-catch block surrounding the Main() does not fire). The application does not throw the same error on subsequent runs. I added an #if(!DEBUG) ... #else ... #endif surrounding the Main() code. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

  I want to remove a GWT event handler the first time I receive an event. I also want to avoid polluting my class with tracking registration objects that aren't really necessary.   Hi, I wish to extract just the first 1024 bytes of a stored blob and not the whole file. The reason for this is I want to just extract the metadata from a file as quickly as possible without having to select the whole blob. I understand the following: select dbms_lob.substr(file_blob, 16,1) from file_upload where file_upload_id=504; which returns it as hex. How may I do this so it returns it in binary data without selecting the whole blob? Thanks in advance.

  Hi i'm using phonegap in conjunction with Jquery mobile. I'm trying to immediately fetch the main page, while showing the user a splashscreen. In PhoneGap for Android i'm using this super.setIntegerProperty("splashscreen", R.drawable.splash); super.loadUrl("file:///android_asset/www/index.html", 2000); While this loads the splash, it also delays the loading of index.html. It it possible to start fetching it right away? Also, if not with phonegap, has anybody done this using JQM instead of phonegap? UPDATE: After using it with a slower loading first page (doing a json request) it kinda looks like the splash screens shows for a longer period of time, so this appears to be the default behavior

  hi i need to select only the first row from a query that joins tables A and B, on table B exist multiple records with same name. there are not identifiers in any of the two tables. i cannt change the scheme either because i do not own the DB TABLE A NAME TABLE B NAME DATA1 DATA2 Select Distinct A.NAME,B.DATA1,B.DATA2 From A Inner Join B on A.NAME = B.NAME this gives me NAME DATA1 DATA2 sameName 1 2 sameName 1 3 otherName 5 7 otherName 8 9 but i need to retrieve only one row per name NAME DATA1 DATA2 sameName 1 2 otherName 5 7 i was able to do this by adding the result into a temp table with a identity column and the select the Min Id per name. the problem here is that i require to do this in one single statement. this is a DB2 database thanks

  I have a list of about 40 entries. And I frequently want to append an item to the start of the list (with id 0) and want to delete the last entry (with id 40) of the list. how do i do this the best? like: (example with 5 entries) [0] = "herp" [1] = "derp" [2] = "blah" [3] = "what" [4] = "da..." after adding "wuggah" and deleting last it should be like: [0] = "wuggah" [1] = "herp" [2] = "derp" [3] = "blah" [4] = "what" or appending one and deleting first. And I don't want to end up manually moving them one after another all of the entries to the next id.

I need the select query for this table to return only first row found where there are duplicates in 'CName'. For this table it should return all rows except the 3rd (or 1st - any of those two addresses are okay but only one can be returned). Is there a keyword I can add to the SELECT query to filter based on whether the server has already seen the column value before?

  I am currently using the code below and am wondering if it would be possible to query based on an entry value. At the moment it returns the number of rows that have been defined. var q = sqlData.AsEnumerable().Take(2); This data comes in from a database and is imputed into the table but at the moment it only returns database data into the datatable and allows me to select the first two rows and I was wondering if I can query the data table so that I can get the rows that I require based on an index in the actual table itself (e.g. in the table I find five rows and query this information out).

  I'm trying to follow the "Your first project" tutorial at http://wiki.fluentnhibernate.org/Getting_started and have hit a roadblock. When I try to run the console application, I'm getting this error: An invalid or incomplete configuration was used while creating a SessionFactory. Check PotentialReasons collection, and InnerException for more detail. I have created a SQLite database "firstProject.db" and referenced the full path to the file in the call to: return Fluently.Configure() .Database(SQLiteConfiguration.Standard .UsingFile(DbFile)) .Mappings(m => m.FluentMappings.AddFromAssemblyOf<Program>()) .ExposeConfiguration(BuildSchema) .BuildSessionFactory(); so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. • Matching First Alphanumeric Character skipping (The |An? )

  I have a list of artists, albums and tracks that I want to sort using the first letter of their respective name. The issue arrives when I want to ignore "The ", "A ", "An " and other various non-alphanumeric characters (Talking to you "Weird Al" Yankovic and [dialog]). Django has a nice start '^(An?|The) +' but I want to ignore those and a few others of my choice. I am doing this in Django, using a MySQL db with utf8_bin collation. EDIT Well my fault for not mentioning this but the database I am accessing is pretty much ready only. It's created and maintained by Amarok and I can't alter it without a whole mess of issues. That being said the artist table has The Chemical Brothers listed as The Chemical Brothers so I think I am stuck here. It probably will be slow but that's not so much of a concern for me as it's a personal project.

• iphone sdk: Table view not working in the first 5 tabs but in the more view

  Hi, I only started with sdk but this problem is bugging me now for a view days: I created a UITableView and added it to my Tabs. When this TableView is in the first 4 Tabs and u go look at it, it only shows the items on the table but when clicking on them nothing happens (it doesn't go to the next view). BUT when i put this same tab behind the 5th so it goes in the automatic MORE view everything works fine. I'm assuming this is because this more view is implementing some kind of table class. But i can't figure it out. I compared all the files with a working example but it seems to be all the same. ah ya my current project is a window based application. Though i copied most of the code from a navigation based application. Any ideas?

The program uses a JTextField for some text entry and a JLabel to indicate the text to be entered.   My htaccess redirect knowledge is somewhat weak, so I was hoping to get some help here. I currently have the following redirect, which works well: # remove trailing slash RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ /$1 [L,R=301] # redirect to clean URL RewriteCond /%{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-\s]+)$ /$1.php This takes a URL like www.mysite.com/about to www.mysite.com/about.php Now I would like to keep this behavior, but add parameters (if applicable), as such: www.mysite.com/about = www.mysite.com/about.php www.mysite.com/gallery/1 = www.mysite.com/gallery.php?id=1 If possible, I might like to expand this system to 2 or more parameters, as such: www.mysite.com/gallery/1/2 = www.mysite.com/gallery.php?id=1&section=2 So the pattern would be: First URL segment redirects to a PHP file (Optionally) the second segment gets added as the id parameter (Optionally) the third segment gets added as the section parameter

  Hello, I am writing my first shader in WebGL. I was wondering if the GLSL language has any way to evaluate if an attribute or a uniform is null. According to the specs it does not support to do something like if (attributeX) { dothis(); } else{ dothat(): } And I think it would be a waste to write a bool attribute for each of these cases would be a waste. Another question: what happen during rendering when you don't pass along the uniforms or attribs to the shader? Thanks!

Some line (some parenthesis). So far I've come with this regex taken from other threads, but it only finds the dots and split the string into an array. preg_replace('/(?<!\.)\.(?!(\s|$|\,|\w\.))/','',$text); Any ideas? Thanks.

• Delete an entity by key without fetching it first in app engine (using JDO)

  Is there a way to delete an entity without having to fetch it from the datastore first? I am assuming I already have the key or id for the entity. I'm thinking of something like deleteObjectById that would be an analogue to getObjectById on PersistenceManager. The closest I can think of is using Query.deletePersistentAll() (as seen here) and specifying a query that only relies on the key, but I can't tell if that is going to fetch the entity before deleting it. thanks EDIT: I know how to do this using the low level API, as well as in the python API. I was wondering if there was a way to do it within the JDO layer.

• iPhone switching views without first view being reset

  Heya! I'm making a role-playing game, and I want to have a Map View and a Battle Screen. With the possibility of other screens as well. I thought the best way to achieve this was to use multiple NIB files. When I prototyped this by have one view that creates content, switches to the next view, and then back, the content on the original view was reset. How do I make it so that the first view doesn't reset the data each time it's loaded? Thanks!

• Need a push in the right direction, to write my first functional test in Rails

  I've read quiet a bit of documentation over the last few days about testing in Rails, I'm sitting down to write my first real test and not 100% sure how to tie what I have learned together to achieve the following functional test (testing a controller) I need to send a GET request to a URL and pass 3 parameters (simple web-service), if the functionality works the keyword true is simply returned, otherwise the keyword false is returned - its in only value returned & not contained in any <div>, <span> or other tags. The test should assert that if "true" is returned the test is successful. This is probably very simple so apologies for such a non-challenging question. If anyone could point me in the write direction on how I can get started, particularly how I can test the response, I'd be very grateful!
