  • How to add a list-item at specific position

    - by Germanico Brismal
Hi, I'd like to add a <li> at a specific position, for example: <ul id="list"> <li>Position 1</li> <li>Position 2</li> <li>Position 4</li> <ul> Let's say that I want to add a new <li> below/after <li>Position 2</li>, how can I do it using jQuery? I've tried to do it using the code below: $('#list li:eq(1)').append('<li>Position 3</li>'); But, it didn't work, because it appends the <li> inside the <li>Position 2</li>, instead add the <li> below/after the <li>Position 2</li>. Can someone give me some help? Thank you.

  • determine if point on screen is within specific UIScrollView subview

    - by Kyle
    A UIScrollView contains several UIView objects; how can I tell if a point on the screen not generated by touches is within a specific subview of the scrollview? so far atempts to determine if the point is in the subview always return the first subview in the subviews array of the parent scrollview, ie the coordinates are relative to the scrollview, not the window. Here's what I tried (edited) -(UIView *)viewVisibleInScrollView { CGPoint point = CGPointMake(512, 384); for (UIView *myView in theScrollView.subviews) { if(CGRectContainsPoint([myView frame], point)) { NSLog(@"In View"); return myView; } } return nil; }

  • Validating an e-mail field based on a specific domain

    - by mmsa
I have a site that will require a login by the users. The client will only only users from their company's domain to gain access. I need to validate the field based on an e-mail domain address. ie. only allow email addresses from @mycompany.com to go through. Can this be done with the jquery.validate plugin? I see where you can check to see if it's a valid e-mail, but I'd like to make sure it matches a specific pattern (@mycompany.com). Any help would be appreciated!

  • jquery filtering content before specific string

    - by jeff
Is is possible remove all content before a specific string with jquery? For instance say I wanted to strip all the text before the word "subcommittee" in this example below. How would I do that? With losses mounting among hoteliers, fishermen and others whose livelihoods have been curtailed by the spill, frustration is "rapidly escalating" along the Gulf Coast alive." Linn told a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee Monday that the amount of money BP has paid local residents for their losses has typically been about $5,000, a sum he dismissed as "a marketing ploy." Businesses such as his vacation rental company are borrowing money to pay their overhead costs, which he called "the only way we're going to keep our business alive."

  • find a specific string pattern in an array jquery

    - by Bwyss
Apologies if this is a duplicate, but I can't seem to find the solution. I am trying to find a specific string pattern in an array. I want to find all values in data that contain 'underscore r underscore'. I then want to create a new array that contains only those keys and values. var data = ["something", "bar_r_something"]; var resultArray = new Array(); for (var i = 0; i < data.length; i++) { var bar = /_r_/; if ($.inArray(bar, data[i].length) > 0) { console.log("found _r_"); resultArray.push(data[i]); } }; I just can't seem to get that $.inArray to work, it seems to always kick out -1.

  • Groovy: Dynamically addings methods with a specific signature.

    - by Reverend Gonzo
So, I need to dynamically create (or inject) methods into an object that have a specific return type and method signature, because a Java tool we're using will be finding this methods via Reflection and checks for void type. Method names will be determined at runtime. Using metaClass. = { ... } however adds a closure which doesn't show up as a regular method (even if it can be used as one) and also has a return type. I can't modify the method finding code, and it it not Groovy-aware. I can't use methodMissing() or invokeMethod() because the method needs to actually exist. If I could overload class.getMethods() I think it would be possible, but I can't figure out how. Is there any way to do this in Groovy?

  • Bash - replacing targeted files with a specific file, whitespace in directory names

    - by Dispelwolf
I have a large directory tree of files, and am using the following script to list and replace a searched-for name with a specific file. Problem is, I don't know how to write the createList() for-loop correctly to account for whitespace in a directory name. If all directories don't have spaces, it works fine. The output is a list of files, and then a list of "cp" commands, but reports directories with spaces in them as individual dirs. aindex=1 files=( null ) [ $# -eq 0 ] && { echo "Usage: $0 filename" ; exit 500; } createList(){ f=$(find . -iname "search.file" -print) for i in $f do files[$aindex]=$(echo "${i}") aindex=$( expr $aindex + 1 ) done } writeList() { for (( i=1; i<$aindex; i++ )) do echo "#$i : ${files[$i]}" done for (( i=1; i<$aindex; i++ )) do echo "/usr/bin/cp /cygdrive/c/testscript/TheCorrectFile.file ${files[$filenumber]}" done } createList writeList

  • Dividing a list in specific number of sublists

    - by Surya
I want to divide a list in "a specific number of" sublists. That is, for example if I have a list List(34, 11, 23, 1, 9, 83, 5) and the number of sublists expected is 3 then I want List(List(34, 11), List(23, 1), List(9, 83, 5)). How do I go about doing this? I tried grouped but it doesn't seem to be doing what I want. PS: This is not a homework question. Kindly give a direct solution instead of some vague suggestions.

  • How to find the submit button in a specific form in jQuery

    - by leifg
I try to get jQuery object of a submit button in a specific form (there are several forms on the same page). I managed to get the form element itself. It looks something like this: var curForm = curElement.parents("form"); The current Element has the context HTMLInputElement. The several techniques I tried to get the according submit element of the form: var curSubmit = curForm.find("input[type='submit']"); var curSubmit = $(curForm).find("input[type='submit']"); var curSubmit = curForm.find(":submit"); var curSubmit = $(curForm).find(":submit"); var curSubmit = $(curSubmit, "input[type='submit']"); the result is always the same (and very strange). The result that I get is the same element as "curElement". So how can I get the right submit button?

  • How can specific the layout_width and layout_height of a Framelayout which fits an image

    - by michael
Hi, I have an image which is 80px X 50 px, and I need to place that in one of the child of a FrameLayout, how can I specific the layout_width and layout_height of a Framelayout which fits an image without scaling it? I know there is a layout_height="wrap_content" layout_wight="wrap_content" for FrameLayout, but I can't use it, since that FrameLayout has other children. So I would like to hard code the FrameLayout width/height to match the dimension of the image? Should I use layout_width="80px" or layout_width="80dip"? Thank you.

  • Need to add specific characters to regular expression

    - by lordryan
i'm using the following regular expression to form a basic email validation. var emailRegEx = /^([a-zA-Z0-9])(([a-zA-Z0-9])*([\._\+-])*([a-zA-Z0-9]))*@(([a-zA-Z0-9\-])+(\.))+([a-zA-Z]{2,4})+$/; this works pretty well for what i need but i also need to exclude these specific characters for reasons i won't go into. !,#,$,%,^,&,*,(,),-,+,|,{,},[,],:,>,<,?,/,\,= - (the characters between the "," if that isn't clear) could someone help me with adding the second group to the first? I know the pro's and cons of using javascript to validate email addresses - i have to do it this way. thanks.

  • How to tell MATLAB to open and save specific files in the same directory

    - by its-me
I have to run an image processing algorithm on numerous images in a directory. An image is saved as name_typeX.tif, so there are X different type of images for a given name. The image processing algorithm takes an input image and outputs an image result. I need to save this result as name_typeX_number.tif, where 'number' is also an output from the algorithm for a given image. Now.. How do I tell MATLAB to open a specific 'typeX' file? Also note that there are other non-tif files in the same directory. How to save the result as name_typeX_number.tif? The results have to be saved in the same directory where the input images are present. How do I tell MATLAB NOT to treat the results that have been saved as an input images? I have to run this as background code on a server... so no user inputs allowed Thanks

  • Rounded corners, is this Mozilla specific?

    - by public static
I was looking at how some site implemented rounded corners, and the CSS had these odd tags that I've never really seen before. -moz-border-radius-topright: 5px; -webkit-border-top-right-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius-bottomright: 5px; -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 5px; I googled it, and they seem to be Firefox specific tags? Update The site I was looking at was twitter, it's wierd how a site like that would alienate their IE users.

  • Show the specific field on mysql table based on active date

    - by mrjimoy_05
    Suppose that I have 3 tables: A) Table UsrHeader ----------------- UsrID | UsrName ----------------- 1 | Abc 2 | Bcd B) Table UsrDetail ------------------------------- UsrID | UsrLoc | Date ------------------------------- 1 | LocA | 10 Aug 2012 1 | LocB | 15 Aug 2012 2 | LocA | 10 Aug 2012 C) Table Trx ----------------------------- TrxID | TrxDate | UsrID ----------------------------- 1 | 10 Aug 2012 | 1 2 | 16 Aug 2012 | 1 3 | 11 Aug 2012 | 2 What I want to do is to show the table like: --------------------------------------- TrxID | TrxDate | UsrID | UsrLoc --------------------------------------- 1 | 10 Aug 2012 | 1 | LocA 2 | 16 Aug 2012 | 1 | LocB 3 | 11 Aug 2012 | 2 | LocA Notice that there is one user but different location. That's based on the UsrDetail table that the user on a specified date has moved to another location. So, it should be show the user specific location on that date on every transaction. I have try this code but it is no luck: SELECT trx.TrxID, trx.TrxDate, trx.UsrID, User.UsrName, User.UsrLoc FROM trx INNER JOIN ( SELECT UsrHeader.UsrID, UsrHeader.UsrName, UserDetail.UsrLoc FROM UsrHeader INNER JOIN ( SELECT UsrDetail.UsrID, UsrDetail.UsrLoc, UsrDetail.Date FROM UsrDetail ) AS UserDetail ON UserDetail.UsrID = UsrHeader.UsrID ) AS User ON User.UsrID = trx.UsrID AND trx.TrxDate >= User.Date How to do that? Thanks..

  • How to return the relevant country domain in rich snippets pulled in from from Google Places?

    - by Baumr
Background A site has multiple ccTLDs: example.com for people in the US, example.co.uk for UK users, example.de for Germans, etc. Googling for certain city keywords will return rich snippets with a list of Google Places: Problem When searching on Google Germany, the domain for US users (example.com) appears instead of the corresponding ccTLD (example.de) aimed at German users. This is not good user experience, as users would most likely like to book on a site localized for them (e.g. language and currency). Question What solutions are there? Is it possible to return different ccTLDs in rich snippets for Google searches in Germany/UK? If so, how? Ideas Stabs in the dark: Would implementing the hreflang annotation resolve this? (GWMT geotargeting is already set.) What about entering multiple corresponding URLs in the structured data markup? (As far as I know, Google Places accepts only a single website URL.)

  • Is There a Real Advantage to Generic Repository?

    - by Sam
Was reading through some articles on the advantages of creating Generic Repositories for a new app (example). The idea seems nice because it lets me use the same repository to do several things for several different entity types at once: IRepository repo = new EfRepository(); // Would normally pass through IOC into constructor var c1 = new Country() { Name = "United States", CountryCode = "US" }; var c2 = new Country() { Name = "Canada", CountryCode = "CA" }; var c3 = new Country() { Name = "Mexico", CountryCode = "MX" }; var p1 = new Province() { Country = c1, Name = "Alabama", Abbreviation = "AL" }; var p2 = new Province() { Country = c1, Name = "Alaska", Abbreviation = "AK" }; var p3 = new Province() { Country = c2, Name = "Alberta", Abbreviation = "AB" }; repo.Add<Country>(c1); repo.Add<Country>(c2); repo.Add<Country>(c3); repo.Add<Province>(p1); repo.Add<Province>(p2); repo.Add<Province>(p3); repo.Save(); However, the rest of the implementation of the Repository has a heavy reliance on Linq: IQueryable<T> Query(); IList<T> Find(Expression<Func<T,bool>> predicate); T Get(Expression<Func<T,bool>> predicate); T First(Expression<Func<T,bool>> predicate); //... and so on This repository pattern worked fantastic for Entity Framework, and pretty much offered a 1 to 1 mapping of the methods available on DbContext/DbSet. But given the slow uptake of Linq on other data access technologies outside of Entity Framework, what advantage does this provide over working directly with the DbContext? I attempted to write a PetaPoco version of the Repository, but PetaPoco doesn't support Linq Expressions, which makes creating a generic IRepository interface pretty much useless unless you only use it for the basic GetAll, GetById, Add, Update, Delete, and Save methods and utilize it as a base class. Then you have to create specific repositories with specialized methods to handle all the "where" clauses that I could previously pass in as a predicate. Is the Generic Repository pattern useful for anything outside of Entity Framework? If not, why would someone use it at all instead of working directly with Entity Framework? Edit: Original link doesn't reflect the pattern I was using in my sample code. Here is an (updated link).

  • How to remove all that country-specific dictionaries (like En_AU, En_CA, de_CH, etc)?

    - by Ivan
After I've installed some language packs and spell checking dictionaries (I'd like to use with Firefox and OpenOffice) I've got tons of language variations installed. This makes very inconvenient to maintain dictionary additions, for example. Sometimes Firefox decides to switch to Australian, sometimes to UK dictionary, sometimes to US, etc. For me, a Russian, English is just English, and German is just German. I think every English-speaking will understand me, may I write "color" or "colour", "dialog", or "dialogue" (I usually prefer classic UK spelling though, as a matter of a habit (as I was taught at school)). How to remove all those dialects?

  • If I am in the USA, should I not have a hosting provider in another country? [on hold]

    - by johnny
I saw the various questions on SO about this. I'm not sure they answered me. I'm in the USA. Someone asked me about hosting on a company in South Africa. They are not a big company. This person simply liked the company for whatever reason. I only saw one horror story. Not many reviews really. It is a small outfit from what I can tell. But, the fact of it being in South Africa, does that matter? Do people ever pursue legal action against hosting companies anyway? The users will all be in the States. edit: I'm not sure why this is unclear.
