    Alright, so I'm putting together a path to select a revision of a particular novel: SELECT Catalog.WbsId, Catalog.Revision, NovelRevision.Revision FROM Catalog, BookInCatalog INNER JOIN NovelMaster INNER JOIN HasNovelRevision INNER JOIN NovelRevision ON HasNovelRevision.right = NovelRevision.obid ON HasNovelRevision.Left=NovelMaster.obid ON NovelMaster.obid = BookInCatalog.Right WHERE Catalog.obid = BookInCatalog.Left; This returns all revisions that are in the Novel Master for each Novel Master that is in the catalog. The problem is, I only want the FIRST revision of each novel master in the catalog. How do I go about doing that? Oh, and btw: my flavor of sql is hobbled, as many others are, in that it does not support the LIMIT Function.

    I have a SQL query in which I am passing sysdate to the query problem is that when there is no matching date in table with sysdate then it don't shows the zero even if there is nvl applied here is my query select * from molasses where trunc(trn_dte) = trunc(sysdate) But it show data only when current date is present in table but I want to show zero if no data found in table.please help me to do this in oracle 10 g. Because some times the situation is like above and I have to display zero when no data found

    I think the best way to explain this is to tell you what I have. I have two tables A and B both have columns Field1 and Field2. However Field 2 is not populated in table B I want to populate field 2 of table B with field 2 of table A where field 1 of table A matches field 1 of table B. something like update tableB set Field2 = tableA.field2 where tablea.field1 = tableb.field1. The reason this may seem so odd and obscure is that I'm tyring to do an inital data load form an old database to a new one. please let me know if you need clarification

    I'm using a database link to execute a DELETE statement on another DB, but the DB link name doesn't conform to global naming, and this requirement cannot change. Also I have global_names set to false, and cannot be changed either. When I try to use these links however, I receive: ORA-02069: - global_names parameter must be set to TRUE for this operation Cause: A remote mapping of the statement is required but cannot be achieved because GLOBAL_NAMES should be set to TRUE for it to be achieved. - Action: Issue `ALTER SESSION SET GLOBAL_NAMES = TRUE` (if possible) What is the alternative action when setting global_names=true is not possible?     I have a form that will have dynamic elements inserted with javascript and am experiencing some strange behavior.     In SharePoint 2010 when you hover over a column heading (i.e. to sort) in a list table, you get a hover effect, how can you supress / change this? I can see it uses OnChildColumn(this), so is there a way to modify this - either preventing the effect (e.g. when sorting can't be done on a column), or using a different background image? Also want to do the same when you hover over a cell in any of the list table's contents.
