• MYSQL Inner Join two table over two keys

  I am doing a query to return all users shopping carts, stored in the sb_carts table. The product information stored in sb_carts is referenced over two keys product_sku and school_id. It needs to reference both to return a unique product with unique stock levels etc. When I execute the following query it returns one row, I am expecting 3 rows. I have tried breaking the inner join into two separate joins but this still returns only 1 result. joining only on one key has the desired result, but may be retuning the wrong product. A left join returns 3 rows but some data is missing product specific Here is a simplified example of what I am doing SELECT sb_carts.product_sku FROM sb_carts INNER JOIN sb_products ON sb_products.sku = sb_carts.product_sku AND sb_products.school_id = sb_carts.school_id WHERE sb_carts.order_id = 0 AND sb_carts.user_id = 2 GROUP BY sb_carts.cart_id

• this.optional() in jQuery validation method doesn't seem to work

  Hello, I've got a little problem here. I've got the following rule for one of my fields: StartDate: { required: isDelayed, dateRU: true } isDelayed() returns false, so I guess StartDate field should be optional. However if I check it inside my dateRU method: $.validator.addMethod( "dateRU", function(value, element) { return this.optional(element) || isValidDate($.trim(value)); }, "Date is incorrect" ); this.optional(element) always returns false for StartDate. I can't figure out what's wrong. Any ideas? UPD. Does optional() returns true only if element is not required AND IS EMPTY? 'Cause that may be my problem.

• $_POST goes empty after adding a new input type "file"

  Hi, I'm not finding a way to understand and fix this and I've done a lot. I've got a script, wish is a simple form, that sends a file trough POST. The second file, process the info. By default, I give to the user a few fields, one of them being a input field of type "file" and there's also, a few "hidden" one's, that gives me values to work with on POST. I found that, when adding a new input of type "file", the $_POST returns array 0, even $_FILES returns nothing. I have no idea how to fix this, and it works just fine when keeping the default input box of type "file". This is the form http://pastie.org/872488 This only happens when: Exists! var_dump( $_POST ), or $_FILES, print_r(), etc Returns nothing. I've tryed to create a array on the input of type "files", like img_p_child[], but nothing. How to solve this ? Thanks for taking your time!

• Javscript filter vs map problem

  As a continuation of my min/max across an array of objects I was wondering about the performance comparisons of filter vs map. So I put together a test on the values in my code as was going to look at the results in FireBug. This is the code: var _vec = this.vec; min_x = Math.min.apply(Math, _vec.filter(function(el){ return el["x"]; })); min_y = Math.min.apply(Math, _vec.map(function(el){ return el["x"]; })); The mapped version returns the correct result. However the filtered version returns NaN. Breaking it out, stepping through and finally inspecting the results, it would appear that the inner function returns the x property of _vec but the actual array returned from filter is the unfiltered _vec. I believe my usage of filter is correct - can anyone else see my problem?

• Can't get Javac to work on Mac OS X

  I am trying to compile with javac on Snow Leopard through the command line. I have Xcode installed. I am just using a simple Hello World file, it works in Eclipse but I can't get it to work using javac. javac -version returns javac 1.6.0_17 HelloWorld.java public class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { String message = "Welcome to Java!"; System.out.println(message); } } I type: javac HelloWorld.java and get the following error. HelloWorld.java:1: class, interface, or enum expected public class HelloWorld ^ 1 error and... javac -cp . HelloWorld.java returns the same. echo $CLASSPATH just returns blank. Thanks for the help.

  Hello. I wrote a test dll in C++ to make sure things work before I start using a more important dll that I need. Basically it takes two doubles and adds them, then returns the result. I've been playing around and with other test functions I've gotten returns to work, I just can't pass an argument due to errors. My code is: import ctypes import string nDLL = ctypes.WinDLL('test.dll') func = nDLL['haloshg_add'] func.restype = ctypes.c_double func.argtypes = (ctypes.c_double,ctypes.c_double) print(func(5.0,5.0)) It returns the error for the line that called "func": ValueError: Procedure probably called with too many arguments (8 bytes in excess) What am I doing wrong? The Java 6 API doc says: After [cancel()] returns, subsequent calls to isDone() will always return true. [cancel()] returns false if the task could not be cancelled, typically because it has already completed normally It also says: [isDone()] returns true if this task completed. But what if my cancellation fails not because the task is already completed, but because it simply cannot be cancelled? Is there a way out of this contradiction (other than making my uncancelable task cancelable and sidestepping it altogether)?

• Problem with Wicket and SignInExample in IE8

  I have an interesting problem with Wicket. I'm basically duplicating the 'authentication' example from the v1.4.x in SVN. It works fine in FireFox and Chrome but not in IE8. When in IE8, after I click the submit button it returns with a 404 error but i can manually paste the "destination" url in and it goes there fine (as an authenticated user). Another scenario is, I try to login, it gives me a 404, I hit refresh (looking at the html source I see the page version incremented), relogin and it works fine. So to summarize: I login the first time in IE8 and it returns a 404 error, hit refresh and ogin again and it works fine. I login the first time in IE8 and it returns a 404 error, manually paste the destination url in the browser and it goes there fine as if im logged in. I've compared everything between IE8 and FireFox from the rendered source and the code is not doing anything special but I cannot figure out what the differences are? Thanks. KJQ

  Beginning Ruby Question: I'm trying to see if a string variable's contents is either "personal" "email" or "password". I'm trying: if params[:action] == "password" || "email" || "personal" foo else don't foo end But that doesn't work and returns strange results, and using IRB to play around with "or" statements I have no idea why the following happens: irb(main):040:0> a = "email" => "email" irb(main):041:0> a == "password" || "email" => "email" irb(main):042:0> a == "email" || "password" => true I just want something that if any of the 3 variables are true no matter what order they are in it returns true, if not it returns false. Is there a way I can get the full string. Thanks

  I have an arbitrarily deep list of the form: <ul> <li></li> <li> <ul> <li></li> </ul> </li> </ul> I am trying to build a function "nextElement" that returns a jQuery selector. The first time the function is called, it returns the first li in the list. The second time it is called, it returns the next li in the page. Etc. I'd like this function to pay no attention to siblings, parents, children, etc. All I care about is that everytime it is called, the next li in the source gets chosen.   I have a query to find all the phone numbers that match a partial expression such as "ends with 234" @matchingphones = Calls.find :all, :conditions => [ "(thephonenumber LIKE ?)", "%234"] The same phone number might be in the database several times, and so might be returned multiple times by this query if it matches. What I need is to know is UNIQUE phone numbers the query returns. For example if the database contains 000-111-1234 * 000-111-3333 000-111-2234 * 000-111-1234 * 000-111-4444 the existing query will return the 3 records marked with * (eg returns one phone number -1234 twice since it's in the database twice) what I need is a query that returns just once instance of each match, in this case 000-111-1234 * 000-111-2234 *

  I'm currently learning python and trying to do exercises at pyschools (if anyone knows what it is). Anyway, i have an exercise that asks me to do the following : Write a function percent(value, total) that takes in two numbers as arguments, and returns the percentage value as an integer. Here's my code: def percent(value, total): percent = value / total * 100 return int(percent) It works great in my Python Idle and it gives all the correct answers. however, when i run it in the pyschools website, it says that , for example , when the function is called with parameters 46 and 90 , the function returns 0. However, in my python idle , it correctly returns 51. What might be the problem ? Thank you very much for your help!

Examples: Function should return true if 1) S = "abab" 2) S = "abcdabcd" 3) S = "abcabcabc" 4) S = "zzxzzxzzx" But if S="abcb" returns false. I though maybe we can repeatedly call KMP on substrings of S and then decide. eg: for "abab": call on KMP on "a". it returns 2(two instances). now 2*len("a")!=len(s) call on KMP on "ab". it returns 2. now 2*len("ab")==len(s) so return true Can you suggest any better algorithms?
