  I have a presentation tomorrow, and while I was trying to project my website using projector all the elements appeared mixed up. The problem is I used a software called "AXURE" to do the website. The HTML files produced by this software are crap. There's no one unified CSS file. The style is embedded for each element in the <div> tag and every element is positined by absolute pixels. How can make my website works on larger screens?

• Custom component creation - how to add small icon representing component in Tool Palette?

  Please bear in mind that I've read all the instructions I could find about adding component icon to my custom component. And I am able to do this when we talk about the icon size which is 24x24 pixels. I see the icon when a component is dropped on the form. However I can not see the small 16x16 icon which should be displayed when browsing Tool Palette. I've read that I should name my two other BMP files which are contained in DCR file like this: MyComponentName16 [for 16x16 BMP file] MyComponentName32 [for 32x32 BMP file] Unfortunately this does not seem to work, I've tried to restart Delphi few times in hope that it might be the case of not refreshing something, but without any success. Any ideas?

• HTML table with fixed cells size

  I have an HTML table which has equally divided rows and columns. I would like each cell to be of a fixed size, say 40px width and 30px height. When I change the size of the browser window, the cells size changes also. How can I prevent it ? I would expect to see the scroll bars if browser's window become too small. Is that right to set the height and the width of the cell in pixels ? Thanks !

  I have a game that I am working on in a C# console application, purely as practice before going on to better methods. As opposed to using something such as a Windows Forms App, which has button functionality built in, I am endeavoring to grab the cursor position (which I know how to do) and compare it to a number of area's inside a console application as defined by perhaps pixel location, but I also do not know if there is some sort of built in unit of space other than pixels (this last bit is the part I am unable to figure). P.S. I know this is in general terms, with no code already provided, but I do not feel that it is needed as all I am asking for is a brief explanation of how to grab X Y coordinates inside a console application, and stick them in int variables.   I am generating reports in HTML formats, and want to print them automatically using Qt (qt has a webkit based browser, and one can render its contents to a PDF file). I want to position the elements of the report depending on the target page size. For that i need to access the size of the paper (preferably in pixels). Since i am using webkit, it has all the latest html5 and css3 features. is there some api available to access printed page properties inside javascript. for example, would be nice to write: window.print_paper.width or window.print_paper.height Thank you in advance

• BCB: how to get the (approximate) width of a character in a given TFont?

  It's a TMemo, not that that should make any difference. Googling suggests that I can use Canvas->TextWidth() but those are Delphi examples and BCB doesn't seem to offer this property. I really want something analogous to memo->Font->Height for width. I realize that not all fonts are fixed width, so a good estimate will do. All that I need is to take the width of a TMemo in pixels and make a reasonable guess at how many characters of the current font it will hold. Of course, if I really want to be lazy, I can just google for the average height/width ratio, since height is known. Remember, an approximation is good enough for me if it is tricky to get exact. http://www.plainlanguagenetwork.org/type/utbo211.htm says, " A width to height ratio of 3:5 (0.6) is recommended for most applications"

  dear friends, i have created application using layout font sizes in "pixels" font and other layout looks fine on HTC hero and Motorola Droid but in nexus one which is bigger resolution phone every thing is messed up. for example , i have used font 18px which is bigger size in HTC Hero and Motorola but in Nexus one it is looking very small. same is the case with image height and width a banner looks fine on both phones but in nexus one very small. actually we dont have height and width in percentage thats why i am not able to solve this problem. layout_width="fill_parent" also not helping.. kindly help me out what should i do to make application look same in all the phones with different resolutions.

• Modifying an image with OpenGL ?

  I have a device to acquire XRay images. Due to some technical constrains, the detector is made of heterogeneous pixel size and multiple tilted and partially overlapping tiles. The image is thus distorted. The detector geometry is known precisely. I need a function converting these distorted images into a flat image with homogeneous pixel size. I have already done this by CPU, but I would like to give a try with OpenGL to use the GPU in a portable way. I have no experience with OpenGL programming, and most of the information I could find on the web was useless for this use. How should I proceed ? How do I do this ? Image size are 560x860 pixels and we have batches of 720 images to process. I'm on Ubuntu.

I have a checkbox which enables a button called "btnviewcrop" which shows a new form called crp.vb for cropping/shearing pixels off the video. Now, I have a Panel1 that I want to set as the owner (the video drawing surface) but when I set it to open, the application crashes (Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.) and I do not understand how to fix it. • Google Maps API : V2 : marker icons are not square

  I have generated a bunch of png files to use as markers on my site. However when I applied them using GIcon(). I see that they are squeezed such that the height is more than the width. This even though my png files are exactly 22x22 pixels. I don't think I have the resources to generate the whole set to fit the odd 20x34 or some such size. Is there any way this can be fixed ? I tried specifying a GSize() to unsqueeze them, but that didn't work.

  I am trying to scroll the content without scrolling the image in the background using UIScrollView. I am using IB and setting the FileOwner View to point to the Scroll View (Image View is a child of the Scroll view). I have made the image height to be 960 pixels. I have also set scrolling content size in the vierController that owns this UIView (void)viewDidLoad { UIScrollView *tempScrollView = (UIScrollView *)self.view; tempScrollView.contentSize=CGSizeMake(320, 960); } My problem is that the Image only appears moves along with the content. I have tried taking out the settings in viewDidLoad, but the scrolling cease to function. I have also tried changing the location of the image and have it placed under VIEW instead of Scoll View (by the way Scroll View is a child of VIEW), but that resulted in the app breaking (termination error). Any advice would be appreciated.

• How do I resize a flat vector icon so that it preserves hard edges in Photoshop (CS4)

  I recently purchased Drew Wilson's Pictos icon library. It is a library of flat, monochromatic icons for use on the web and elsewhere. The only issue is: they're vectors. I know my way around Illustrator a little bit, but ultimately I want to import these icons into Photoshop and resize to various dimensions. The problem I'm having: when I import an icon and resize it to, say, 20x20 pixels, I notice that there is a fair bit of aliasing around the edges of the icon. I'm sure there is some magic number where the edges of these icons will remain crisp, but I can't find any option or setting that will allow me to size these icons properly. Is there a way in Photoshop to snap these icons to the closest size that removes or minimizes the aliasing?

• GDI+, using DrawImage to draw a transperancy mask of the source image

  Is it possible to draw a transperancy mask of an image (that is, paint all visible pixels with a constant color) using Graphics::DrawImage? I am not looking for manually scanning the image pixel-by-pixel and creating a seperate mask image, I wonder if it's possible to draw one directly from the original image. My guessing is that it should be done with certain manipulations to ImageAttributes, if possible at all. The color of the mask is arbitrary and should be accurate, and it would be a plus if there can be a threshold value for the transparency.

Is it possible using the Windows API, to create a textfield that lets me offset characters by exact pixels? if so - how? for example, I would like to place two O letters on top of each other, such that they form something like an 8 ? context is an application for a language where most of the glyphs are written left to right, but sometimes some of the glyphs are stacket on top of each other.   Hi, So I have to write a program that will iterate through an image and record the pixel locations corresponding to each color pixel that appears in it. For example, given http://www.socuteurl.com/fishywishykissy I need to find the coordinates of all yellow, purple, dark pink, etc pixels. In C++ I would use a hash table to do this. I would iterate through the image, check each pixel's value, look up that value and either add to a vector of pixel coordinates if it were found or add a new entry to the table if the value were not already there. The problem is that I may need to write this program in pure C instead of C++. How would I go about doing this in C? I feel like implementing a hash table would be pretty obnoxious and error-prone: should I avoid doing that? I'm pretty inexperienced with C and have a fair amount of C++ experience, if that matters.   I have a BMP tagged as 299 DPI resolution. I'd like to change that to 99 DPI. Importantly, the DPI marker in a BMP has no structural meaning. An image has a certain width and height in pixels. The displaying application can show the image at any width in inches. So, the DPI is just a hint. However, I am dealing with some third-party software which behaves differently depending on this marker, so I need to re-set it. I will appreciate suggestions on how to do this programmatically (especially in Java) as well as in GUI graphics tools (e.g. Gimp).

I am new to image processing and I think in this case p_value is 25 and around 25 that are many pixel values in that range but don't exactly know to construct a convolution filter out of it.

• Alter top and bottom borders of Dojo/Dijit Dialog and ContentPane

  I have a Dojo/Dijit Dialog that contains a FORM. There is a top border between the title bar and the content, and a bottom border below the content. Both are about 19 or 20 pixels high and colored #eeeeee. I can't find these borders in the CSS anywhere -- actually, neither can the IE Developer Toolbar -- they just don't seem to exist as elements. I suspect that Dijit is adding these programatically. Is there any way to just remove these borders? I just want my content to consume all of the dialog area below the title bar. TIA

• Visual artifacts on UIView rotation with tiled background image.

  I have an iPad app with a standard UIViewController/UIView setup - all rotations are allowed. The UIView draws some tiled image as background (the tile is 256*256 pixels): - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { [[UIImage imageNamed: @"Background.png"] drawAsPatternInRect: rect]; } When I turn my iPad I can see that during the rotation the image pattern of the original orientation is scaled to fit the new orientation. Then - immediately after the animation is finished - the view redraws its background pattern with the final configuration which is unscaled. The switching from a scaled to an unscaled pattern looks a bit ugly. Is there a way to circumvent (or hide) this strecthing of the background pattern?

So I want to display a certain position in the web page by default. For example, I've a 175x200 size jdialog and JEditorPane. I want to display the web page sontent around 150 pixels down. Is there any solutions for this? Or is there any other component which I can used to display web pages and can move to a certain position of the web page at loading time.

• Mirroring a portion of the screen to an external display (in OSX)

  I would like to write a program that can mirror a portion of the main display into a new window. Ideally this new window could then be displayed on an external monitor. I have seen this uiltity for a flightsim that does this on a pc (a multifunction display extractor). MFDex http://trac2.assembla.com/lightnings..._x86_Setup.msi I have looked at screen magnifiers or vnc clients for ideas but I think I need to write something from scratch. I have tried to do some reading on osx programing but where do I start in terms of gaining access to the display? I somehow need to extract the graphics from a particular program. Is it best to go near the final output stage (the individual pixels sent to the display) or somewhere nearer the window management stage. Any ideas or pointers would be much appreciated.
