    I installed gmaps4rails for my Rails app, ran the generator, and required the two files like this in my application.js file, along with underscore.js //= require underscore //= require gmaps4rails/gmaps4rails.base //= require gmaps4rails/gmaps4rails.googlemaps adding, as instructed on github https://github.com/apneadiving/Google-Maps-for-Rails, these dependencies in layout.html.erb When I tried to create the demo map from the github page with this code, I got an error that the object doesn't have a build method.     On my button click, the jQuery dialog appears with just the title and buttons. When you mouseover, then you see the form inputs in front of the dialog covering the buttons.     I have a WCF service that needs to know the Principal of the calling user. In the constructor of the service I have: Principal = OperationContext.Current.IncomingMessageHeaders.GetHeader<MyPrincipal>("myPrincipal", "ns"); and in the calling code I have something like: using (var factory = new ChannelFactory<IMyService>(localBinding, endpoint)) { var proxy = factory.CreateChannel(); using (var scope = new OperationContextScope((IContextChannel)proxy)) { var customHeader = MessageHeader.CreateHeader("myPrincipal", "ns", Thread.CurrentPrincipal); OperationContext.Current.OutgoingMessageHeaders.Add(customHeader); newList = proxy.CreateList(); } } This all works fine. My question is, how can I avoid having to wrap all proxy method calls in the using (var scope...{ [create header and add to OperationContext]? Could I create a custom ChannelFactory that will handle adding the myPrincipal header to the operation context? Something like that would save a whole load of copy/paste which I'd rather not do but I'm not sure how to achieve it:) Thanks

  • Best practice to display POI in iPhone's MapKit?

    Assuming I have a database of POI with their respective coordinates (longitude & latitude). What would be the "standard" way to display the POI as annotations around the user's current location? To elaborate: Given a zoom level, I guess I have to search through the database for all POI whose distance to the current location < a certain threshold, then create annotations for them. Or is there any smarter way? If the user zooms in/out, moves the map... I will need to redo the whole thing again? It seems that MapKit has a mechanism to cache/reuse annotations. Should I create a lot of them right away and let MapKit decides what to render when the visible region changes? I guess this would make the transition smoother, but also consumes more memory. What is your experience with this? Thanks.

  • Supporting multiple screen sizes with Android using ImageButtons

    I've read the Android documentation: http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html but still have some questions. I'm trying to design a music application which basically has images of the instrument (ImageButton) that play a sound when clicked. However, I'm confused about how to have the ImageButtons scale to fit all the different screen sizes and how to position them. Which layout is best used for needing to position ImageButtons in specific locations on the screen? (i.e. cymbals on a drum set) FrameLayout, RelativeLayout? If I only really care about medium and large screens, do I need to create different resources (images) for both as well as a different XML layout to position them? I'm trying to find the simplest way to do this without having to create a separate layout XML file for positioning/size and separate image resources for each screen. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Creating an Excel 2007 bubble chart with date values in axis

    I'm trying to create a graph showing the duration of issue resolution. I believe a bubble chart in excel will show what I want but I can't manage to get it working correctly. For each date I have a number of days (duration) and a number of issues (magnitude). Most dates have a duration of 1 with a large magnitude, and I want to avoid the outliers dominating the chart. e.g. 1-Feb, 1, 15 1-Feb, 2, 10 1-Feb, 9, 1 2-Feb, 1, 11 2-Feb, 2, 14 2-Feb, 6, 2 2-Feb, 18, 1 etc. I want the data in this example to give me 2 columns of bubbles. When I try to get excel to create the chart I can't get the date to appear at on the x axis; I get a count (representing the row of the data) instead, and as each row is a separate column, the values don't line up for the date. Can this be done in Excel 2007 without using VBA?

From my perspective, it should just try to pull down hibernate w/o inserting the groupId, but maybe i'm not understanding how i'm supposed to run this command?

AS VARCHAR(36)))) AS v(x) ON ID_MAP.UUID = v.x WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN INSERT VALUES v.x When I execute the statement (setting the placeholder correctly), I always get a Caused by: org.hsqldb.HsqlException: row column count mismatch Could you please give me a hint, what is going wrong here?     Hello, I need to check if some option which can be passed to JVM is explicitly set or is it have default value. To be more specific: I need to create one specific thread with higher native stack size than the default one, but in case then user want to take care of such things by himself by specifying -Xss option I want to create all threads with default stack size (which will be specified by user in -Xss option). I've checked classes like java.lang.System and java.lang.Runtime, but these aren't giving me information about vmargs. Is there any way to get information I need?

If I just create a Rounded rect button instead with no custom drawing on its layer or if I just leave the layer line of code out all works well. Do you have any Idea why do I get this behaviour as I would like to do some custom drawing in the button's layer?

To be more specific, the XML file is the RSS source for the nuPack project. Any ideas would be very appreaciated on how to be able to read this document properly.

    I have a custom UIViewController and a corresponding view in a nib file. The view is added to the UIWindow directly. [window addSubview:customViewController.view]; Sizes of the window and the view are default (480x320 and 460x320 correspondingly). When I create CustomViewController inside the nib file and check "Resize View From NIB" in IB Attributes tab everything works just fine. But when I create CustomViewController programmmatically with initWithNibName message the view is not positioned on the window correctly. There is an empty stripe at the bottom. Its height is 20px. I see it's because of status bar offset. IB handles that with "Resize View From NIB". How to emulate that programmatically? It seems that IB uses some custom subclass of UIViewController. So the question: how is "Resize View From NIB" implemented there?

    I have just started to look at the new "System.Threading.Tasks" goodness in .Net 4.0, and would like to know if there is any build in support for limiting the number of concurrent tasks that run at once, or if this should be manually handled. E.G: If I need to call a calculation method 100 times, is there a way to set up 100 Tasks, but have only 5 execute simultaneously? The answer may just be to create 5 tasks, call Task.WaitAny, and create a new Task as each previous one finishes. I just want to make sure I am not missing a trick if there is a better way to do this. Thanks for any help.

Here are my routes: resources :photos do resources :comments collection do get 'update_states' end member do put 'upload' end end Here's the form_for: form_for @photo, :remote => true, :url => { :action => upload_photo_path(@photo) }, :html => { :multipart => :true, :method => 'put' } do |f| And here's the error message: No route matches {:action=>"/photos/42/upload", :controller=>"photos"} ... this is especially frustrating because "photos/:id/upload" is exactly the correct action for this form. What am I missing?   • CSS Files Don't Refresh with Wicket (Launched in Intellij via Start.java)

    I have create a skeleton Wicket project using mvn archetype:create -DarchetypeGroupId=org.apache.wicket -DarchetypeArtifactId=wicket-archetype-quickstart -DarchetypeVersion=1.4-rc4 -DgroupId=com.mycompany -DartifactId=myproject All the configuration/importing new project with Maven/Intellij worked fine. I proceeded to add a basic CSS file to my start page, per the following recommended way of doing it in Wicket 1.4 public class BasePage extends WebPage { public BasePage() { add(CSSPackageResource.getHeaderContribution(BasePage.class, "main.css")); } } The main.css file has been put along side BasePage.java and BasePage.html in /src/main/java. I launch the application with Start.java. The problem is when I make changes to the CSS file it is not being picked up when I relaunch Start.java. (Changes to the java and html files are being updated when I change them) I made sure the browser cache was being cleared, and even valided the request/response in Firfox/Firebug. It seems like somewhere between Wicket's magic and the jetty instance Start.java creates the CSS file is being cached and not updated. Any ideas?

    So I have the below VB that creates an access file in the default workspace, creates a table, create some fields in that table...just need to know the syntax for setting the first data type/field to autonumber...GUID, Counter, etc will not work as in Access SQL ' error handling usually goes here dim ws as workspace dim dbExample as database dim tblMain as TableDef dim fldMain as Field dim idxMain as Index set ws = workspace(0) set dbExample = ws.CreateDatabase('string file path') set tblMain = dbExample.CreateTableDef("tblMain") set fldMain = tblMain.CreateField("ID", 'right here I do not know what to substitute for dbInteger to get the autonumber type to work ) tblMain.Fields.Append fldMain etc to create other fields and indexes so in this line: set fldMain = tblMain.CreateField("ID", dbInteger) i need to replace the dbInteger with something that VB reconizes as the autonumber property. i have tried GUID, Counter, Autonumber, AutoIncrement....unfortunately none of these work anyone know the syntax I am missing here?     As a learning exercise I'm trying to put myself a blogging system. The goal is to code something that will let me create multiple blogs, like blogger.com or wordpress.com, but much simplified. I would like to ask you, what do you think is best database design for this type of script. Is it better to have one big table, containing posts from all blogs of all users (like friendfeed) or would it be better to create separate table for each blog's posts? It needs to choose from one of four different equations (with some specific parameters for each document). So far I have manage to create the whole document programmatically except the equation. Is it possible to create equations programmatically? if so, where is de API documentation from MS? if not, which solution can be used?

  • iphone tab bar controller and core data.

    Ok bit of a newbie type question. I want to use Core Data, together with Tab and Navigation controllers. In XCode if I create a Navigation Based Application I get the option to choose Core Data. Whereas If I create a Tab Bar Application I don't get the choice. I understand that Tab Bars display view controllers so it kinda makes sense. However given that by default it sticks the basic Core Data code in the Application delegate I don't see why this isn't offered. At the moment I'm creating the two projects and cutting and pasting between them. Does this omission in XCode seem weird to you? Is it some sort of oversight? Thanks, Matt
