  • Browser Compatibility of IE7 and IE8

    Hi, I am working on a project, in which I am particularly using the CSS with themes. I am facing a compatibility problem between IE7 and IE8. I have placed a ASP.Net menu on page in <div>. Applying CSS style on the div as follows. .TopMenuPanel {           background-color:#3783a9;           position:relative;           left:597px;           top:0px;           width:573px;           height:24px;           text-align:left center; } When I am seeing the page on IE7, the menu showing in one position whereas in IE8 it is showing in another position. Specific talking, in IE7, on the position of Left:597px Top:0px it is showing in before the half page, and in IE8 it is showing after the half page. Anybody else have any experience of such a problem, then please give me the expert solution on this problem.

  • Telerik window automatically opens after every page refresh

    I am using Telerik RadControls in my project and and have a menu where I have an 'About' button. When I click the 'About' button a window pops up describing the application. The problem is if I refresh the page or navigate to another page then back to the first page the window automatically pops up.     When developing Flex projects, Eclipse gives warnings about the default index.html file generated by Flex Builder. The file is in the 'target' folder (or "generated artifacts" folder. Yes, I'm also using Maven). Can I eliminate or disable this warning? The code which generates the warning is below, though I would definitely prefer not changing the html - as I say this is the template suggested by Adobe. Eclipse warns of "Undefined attribute name (xxx)" for scroll on the body tag, and most of the embed attributes.   • Image appearing in the wrong place.

    I have a list that I want to precede on each line with a small image. The CSS: .left div.arrow{background-image: url(../images/design/box.png); float:left; height:15px; width:15px; margin-right:2px;} .left a.list:link, a:visited, a:active {color:black; font-size:0.8em; text-decoration:none; display:block; float:left;} The HTML: <div class="panel">My quick links</div> <div class="arrow"></div> <a href="/messages.php?p=new" class="list">Send a new message</a> <br /> <div class="arrow"></div> <a href="/settings.php#password" class="list">Change my password</a> <br /> <div class="arrow"></div> <a href="/settings.php#picture" class="list">Upload a new site image</a> <br /> As you can see, each image should go before the writing. On the first line, the text "Send a new message" has the preceeding image. However, each line afterwards has the image at the end. So "Send a new message" has an image at the start and finish. It is like the images are staying at the end of the previous line. Any ideas?

    I downloaded the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone and I wrote a simple application to make a first test of the emulator. In this application I have only a button with the property Content binded to a string called ButtonText and with the property Background binded to a SolidColorBrush named FillColor. I handled the Click event with this code: void MyButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (toggle == true) { ButtonText = "Blue"; FillColor = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Blue); } else { ButtonText = "Red"; FillColor = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Red); } toggle = !toggle; } Unfortunately this doesn't work. While the Content of the Button changes each time the button is pressed, I cannot say the same for the Background which remains at the same color. Could you tell me what is wrong? Thank you.   • Changing the direction of a Combo box dropdown in SWT

    Hi, I'm building an Eclipse plugin in SWT, and I have the following problem: one of my fields is a combo box, and in some cases it may have fairly long items as selection options. My plugin runs on the right side of the screen, so when you go to use the combo-box, the right side of the combo box is cut off. So, my question is: is there any way to change the dropdown's alignment relative to the combo control? It seems to be permanently left-aligned... and I'm pretty sure you can change the direction in Swing (though the only place I've seen it done is in the Substance UI demo. The Combo Box tab has boxes with North, South East, and West flyout directions... for my application, I need something like the West flyout) Note: Setting actual text limits is a last-case-scenario option; it would be quite a bit of guesswork to set the text limit dynamically (since the widget's view can be resized). Here's a picture (sorry, I can only have one link and no images :( ... I need some more rep :p) Left side of the line: Proper width - the view is the wide enough for the combo dropdown to display all the text; you can see the scrollbars on the right side. Right side of the line: Too small - Here, the view has been resized, and the combo dropdown scrollbar (as well as some of the text) is cut off by the right side of the screen. I always have more screen space available to the left (since this is always on the right hand side of the screen), but the combo dropdown always appears to the lower right.   • JavaScript (SVG drawing): Positioning x amount of points in an area

    I'm using http://raphaeljs.com/ to try and draw multiple small circles. The problem I'm having is that the canvas has a fixed width, and if I want to draw, say, 1000 circles, they don't wrap onto a 'new line' (because you have to specify the xy position of each circle). E.g. I want this: .................................................. to look like this: ............................ ...................... At the moment I'm doing this: for ( var i = 0; i < 1000; i++ ) { var multiplier = i*3; if ( i <= 50 ) { paper.circle((2*multiplier),2,2); } else if ( i >= 51 && i <= 101 ) { paper.circle((2*multiplier) - 304,8,2); } else if ( i >= 152 && i <= 202 ) { paper.circle((2*multiplier) - 910,14,2); } } For reference: circle(x co-ord, y co-ord, radius) This is messy. I have to add an if statement for every new line I want. Must be a better way of doing it..?

    Hi all. As a brief run down, I am currently making a dating type site. Users can create accounts and upload profile pictures (up to 8). In order to display these in the browse area of the website, I am looking for a way in PHP (with third party processor/scripts) to resize all images uploaded to have thumbnails that adhere to certain dimensions. As an example, I will want "profile" images (thumbnails) to be NO larger than 120*150px. The scripting needs to resize uploaded images (regardless of whether they are portrait or landscape, and regardless of proportions) to adhere to these dimensions without getting stretched. The width (eg. 120pixels) should always remain the same, but the height (eg. 150px) can vary in order to keep the image in proportion. If it's a landscape photo, I'm assuming the script would need to take a chunk out of the middle of the image? The reason that all images to be resized is so that when profiles are display in a grid that all thumbnails are roughly the same size. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I have a RSS feed i need to display in a table (its clothes from a webshop system). The images in the RSS vary in width and height and I want to make a table that shows them all. First off i would be happy just to show all of the items in 3 columns, but further down the road i need to be able to specify through a parameter the amount of columns in my table. Thr problem seems to be that i need to specify the start tag as well as the end tag of the tr element, and cant get all 3 elements into it, anyone know how to do this?

I want to see the overview of the image at the beginning. Then i want to be able to zoom with the normal safari zoom functions,..

    Hi, Currently I've created a ASP.Net page that has a dropdown control with autopostback set to true. I've also added color backgrounds for individual listitems. Whenever an item is selected in the dropdown control the styling is completely removed from all of the list items. How can I prevent this from happening? I need the postback to pull data based on the dropdown item that is selected.   • JQuery Dragging Outside Parent

    I'm using JQuery's draggable(); to make li elements draggable. The only problem is when the element is dragged outside its parent, it doesn't show up. That is, it doesn't leave the confines of its parent div. An example is here: http://imgur.com/N2N1L.png - it's as if the z-index for everything else has greater priority (and the element slides under everything). But issue is, when my page is getting load dis() is not getting called. I want to run dis() on page load too. I tried google, some blogs suggest the use of Page.RegisterStartupScript Method. But I dont exactly know what is the problem and why we should use this above mentioned method. I would appreciate if someone please tell me why this function is not getting called and how to call it.   • jQuery event "looping"

    Hi I´m trying to code a tooltip (Yes I know, I have my reasons to avoid plugins in this case) in jQuery. Whe I show the tooltip and leave the mouse in the same place the show and hide repeats forever. It´s like the element triggers the hover event again and again and again.   • Fulfilling strange requirements with CSS (kind of simulating frames)

    Hi! I'm struggling to find a way to code a site according to our strange requirements. The site should be displayed correctly in all browsers from IE6 to Opera. The website is structured in three parts. It contains a header at the top, a navigation on the left an the rest of the screen should be filled with the content section. The following picture should help you better understand my description. Here comes the kicker: Each of the three sections should be scrollable separately and no browser scrollbar should appear. The page should be displayed similar as if it would use frames. Of course, on a big enough screen, no scroll bars should appear. It doesn't matter which way is used to display the site, although frames aren't an option an divs would be preferred. There are two conditions: The site should always fill the whole browser screen. The header and the content section should reach to the right border of the page, and the navigation as well as the content to the bottom. As soon as the site is scaled down -- whether due to resizing the browser window or due to a smaller resolution -- a scrollbar for every single section should appear, but no "browser scrollbar" for the whole page. The header should always retain it's height and the navigation always it's width. Do you know a way how all this can be achieved? Yours Bernhard

  • CSS: Possible to define styles mid way through an html document?

    In ASP.NET MVC, there are these snippets of html called view templates which appear when their matching data appears on the screen. For example, if you have a customer order and it has a vendor address, the vendor address view template shows up populated with data. Unfortunately, these don't have access to "MasterPages" nor are aware of their CSS surroundings. Instead of loading these up with style tags, is there any way to create partial CSS files that could work for that particular html snippet, a sort of in-line CSS style section? It would be really nice to plop this down just before we render the partial view: <style type="text/css"> input { margin: .2em .2em; overflow: hidden; width: 18.8em; height: 1.6em; border: 1px solid black;} </style> to have the 15 or so input fields in that particular Html snippet be formatted the same. These are swapped out, so the positions of the input fields change. This may also imply a CSS reset on each partial view.

  • Presentation Issue in an Unordered List

    I'm having an issue with correctly presenting items in an unordered list. The labels are floating left and the related spans that are long in length are wrapping and showing below the label. I need a solution that keeps the related spans in their respective columns. In other words, I don't want long spans to show under the labels.   • Align col in a bootstrap collapsable menu

    I got my hands on bootstrap recently and I'm still discovering it. I made collapsable menu from a tutorial online but now that I want to had an image on each entry of my menu that I wasn't expecting. I want my image to be always aligned to the text in the menu but it still getting on top of it. I tried to remove row and col tag and forget about the responsiveness of my menu but it still doesn't work...   • How to specify path for file from different project in WPF?

    Hello, I've got two projects in WPF and one project is the main one and the second one is just for testing (it uses files of the main project - files are added via Project - add - Existing items... - selected file - add as link so that the file is only in the main project really). Folders with projects are these: C:\Work\...\Projects\Main C:\Work\...\Projects\XXXTestProject where XXX stands for different parts of the Main project which I test separately. I've got the code: <Window x:Class="Sokoban.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:Sokoban" xmlns:diag="clr-namespace:System.Diagnostics;assembly=WindowsBase" Title="Window1" Height="559" Width="419"> <Window.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="GameDesk.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <Rectangle local:GameDeskProperties.FieldSize="30" Name="myrect" Style="{DynamicResource GameDesk}" MouseEnter="Rectangle_MouseEnter" /> </Grid> </Window> ... which should use XAML resources from GameDesk.xaml which is in the main project and it seems that I can't use Pack URI (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa970069.aspx). How can I specify the file? Should I use absolute path? (C:\Work...\Main\Resources\GameDesk.xaml) Or is there any other way? Thank you for help!
