  I have a directory tree that includes a symlink to . (the current directory). • django search and filter in Google App Engine

  Hi, I'm trying to add filter and search to my site. It's exactly the same code as in another working django project. The difference is that this time I do it with app engine. my views: http://slexy.org/view/s21GMw2sh1 I have 2 problems: 1.) I get error: "'Query' object has no attribute 'all'" on line 59 in views. As I understand it's something to do with the fact that GAE queryset is different from django queryset. How can I fix that? 2.) If I have 'search' in my request.GET I also fall on line 54 in my views. This is because I can't search by Q object in GAE, I guess. How can I fix that? Thanks, Alex A.

• Maven2 compiles my tests, but doesn't run them

  I have a simple Maven2 project with tests written for TestNG. When I say mvn test Maven2 compiles my test, but don't run them. I already checked this page: http://maven.apache.org/general.html#test-property-name. This is not my case. Anybody can help? • Unit of measurement API in Java?

  JSR-275 has been rejected, the Units of Measurement API for Java project is a set of interfaces, but haven't found an open source implementation. On this post: Which jsr-275 units implementation should be used? the project owner mentions the implementation was going to be ready by the end of last year on JScience, but didn't find anything there to convert between weight or length units and when I looked for JScience on https://maven.java.net/, I found it, but the JAR wasn't even in the directory https://maven.java.net/content/repositories/snapshots/org/jscience/jscience/5.0-SNAPSHOT/, so I had to get it from somewhere else. Has this project been left behind? And is there currently an implementation for conversion of Units of measurement in Java and even perhaps a Maven repo?

  I am new to git and recently set up a new account with github. I'm following a rails tutorial from Michael Hartl online ( http://www.railstutorial.org/book#fig:github_first_page ) and followed his instructions to set up my git which were also inline with the setup instructions at github. Anyways, the "Next Steps" section on github were: mkdir sample_app cd sample_app git init touch README git add README git commit -m 'first commit' git remote add origin [email protected]:rosdabos55/sample_app.git git push origin master I got all the way to the last instruction (git push origin master) without any problem. When I entered that last line into my terminal, however, I got this error message: "fatal: No path specified. See 'man git-pull' for valid url syntax." What might I be doing wrong?

  J2EE as I understand is used to build Enterprise applications. My question is :What are the most popular public facing(internet) sites using j2ee stack. The one's that I know of are : linkedIn.com ,evite.com and sun ibm and oracle (obviously) Eclipse.org uses php, I wonder why? If you have worked on/know any other sites, can your share your experience and also the technologies used(if that's not an issue)? EDIT:It doesn't have to use the full stack. EDIT : There are quite a few ecommerce websites like bestbuy.com. I know this bcos I worked with the ATG(atg.com) ecommerce suite and their website lists their clients.   I am looking for an Open Source alternative to SAAS provided by lablife.org website. Main purpose of the service is to automate daily tasks for life science laboratory. This service was free and nice to use, but when the original company developing this service was bought by BioData they kind of decided to kill and replace it with a new service called labguru. Apparently, a new service has a lot of functionality missing or just bad. That's why I am on a search for an alternative solution. So if you are familiar with what this software does - and if there are any known alternatives, I would be very grateful for any of your tips.

• Getting the height of text to know fill height as in TCPDF

  I'm trying to go through the code of TCPDF to understand how it calculates the height of the text to be rendered, but it's too much for me to handle without asking. What I want to know: in the PDF from example 5 http://www.tcpdf.org/examples/example_005.pdf it gives the cell a yellow background. I'm guessing that at the basic level, it first draws a box with this fill color, then adds the text, so what method is it calling to get the height of the text to know the height of the box to fill? Anyone knows how to trace this, because doing it by hand and looking through the code isn't working at all for me.

• P2 Touchpoint chmod not working?

  I'm using Eclipse 3.5.2 and I've created a p2.inf with the following information: instructions.install = \ chmod(targetDir:@artifact,targetFile:$os$/libfoo.so,permissions:755); instructions.install.import= \ org.eclipse.equinox.p2.touchpoint.natives.chmod I placed the p2.inf inside the META-INF folder of the fragment, but when I install the update site, libfoo.so does not have execute permissions. After pulling my hair out, I tried a p2.inf referencing a non-existing *.so, but nothing seems to happen. No error messages, exceptions, or warnings of any kind to indicate the P2 touchpoint action failed... What's the deal? Any ideas?

  My shop is trying to formalize the release management process for an OSS product we maintain. It's a sort of a web development framework/CMS kind of thing, as in it's a product that other projects are built on top of. This makes clear communication about the versioning system especially critical for developers that are using the tool. I'm hoping to find some examples of how best to graph this system so we can communicate it better internally and with outside developers. I know there are lots of standards and best practices around versioning, so I'm hoping this extends to some sort of visual vocabulary as well. As one example, there is a nifty graph at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Versioning#Software_Versioning_schemes. Are there any guides out there on how these sorts of things should be designed?

  I'm unsatisfied with other JavaScript libraries and frameworks like jQuery, MooTools, and Raphael, because of their inability to support SVG grouping. You'd think it'd be a very simple thing for them to implement.   Hello All, I am using Ubuntu + cakephp 1.3. I am trying the database migration with the help of cakeDC migration plugin. I configured the plugin as per the instructions. • maven compile fails because i have a non-maven jar

• Can a 32-bit RHEL4 userland work with a 64-bit kernel?

  Is there a way to change an i386 RHEL4 machine to run an amd64 kernel, but ensure that it still builds software into same i386 binaries? On Debian this seems quite straightforward: just install an amd64 kernel (worst case, build one like this guy: http://www.debian-administration.org/users/jonesy/weblog/1) and prefix everything with "linux32". Then everything that considers uname -m will be unchanged, I just need to handle the few cases that consider uname -r. What is the Red Hat equivalent? Is the only way a full 64-bit installation on another disk and then chrooting back to the 32-bit system before anyone builds anything? (Even the best examples of that seem to be Debian-based.) Background: We make a large system that runs on (a variant of) i386 RHEL4. However, some of the larger RHEL build machines now have enough RAM that they might benefit from going 64-bit (for the kernel and maybe some of the bigger build steps). Our build system doesn't support cross-compilation.

  Can anybody explain the difference in Haskell between the operators ($) and ($!) (dollar sign vs dollar sign exclamation point)? I haven't seen the use of $! anywhere so far, but while browsing through the Haskell reference on www.zvon.org, I noticed its existence and that it has the exact same definition as $. When trying some simple statements in a Haskell interpreter (ghci), I couldn't find any difference, nor could I find any reference to the operator in the top listed tutorials when googling for haskell tutorial. So, just out of curiosity, what is the difference, if at all?

A json string is returning by web method but it contains xml structure like: <string xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> {"checkrecord":[{"rollno":"abc2","percentage":40,"attended":12,"missed":34}],"Table1":[]} </string> I saw this article before it wasn't much helpful for me. So my problem is, that json string is not returned in its pure format. I do not want that xml version and xmlns string. I plan to consume the web service on Android later. Can anyone help me? Thanks

• Best way to create a preview functionality in rails

  Hi all, I'm looking to implement a preview functionality in my posts scaffold. All I need to do is allow a user to enter information in the new view (/posts/new) and then replace the submit button with a preview button. Once the preview button is clicked, the user is routed to the preview page (probably /posts/new/preview). If the user wants to make a change they would click 'go back' or if they are happy with the post they can then submit the post. I found this article (http://eyedeal.team88.org/node/105) but it seems dated. Any ideas on what the best approach for this would be? Many thanks, Tony

  Hi, I'm currently using this C code: CURL *curl; CURLcode res; curl = curl_easy_init(); if (curl) { curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_URL, "http://my-domain.org/"); res = curl_easy_perform(curl); curl_easy_cleanup(curl); } It prints the output on the console. How can I get the same output, but read it into, say, a string? (This is a probably a basic question, but I do not yet understand the libcurl API...) Thanks for any help! Mike

• $_GET loading content before head tag instead of in specified div.

  NOT EDITING BELOW BUT THANKS TO SOME REALLY NICE PEOPLE I CAN'T POST AN IMAGE ANYMORE BECAUSE I HAD a 15 Rep but NOW ONLY A 5 becuase my question wasn't what they wanted help with they gave me a neg rep. The problem is that the content loads it displays UNDER the div i placed #CONTENT# inside so the styles are being ignored and it's posting #CONTENT# outside the divs at positions 0,0 any suggestions? Found out whats happening by using "View Source" seems that it's putting all of the #CONTENT#, content that's being loaded in front of the <head> tag. Like this <doctype...> <div class="home"> \ blah blah #CONTENT# bot being loaded in correct specified area </div> / <head> <script src=""></script> </head> <body> <div class="header"></div> <div class="contents"> #CONTENT# < where content SHOULD load </div> <div class="footer"></div> </body> so anyone got a fix? But in that case the service of the database comes from NetBeans. If I move my application to another PC I won't be able to access my database. How can I integrate my JavaDB into my application?

• Restore Emacs Session/Desktop

  I've been searching for how to restore an emacs session, with no luck. I'm looking to restore all previously open buffers, some of which might contain erc, shells, directory listings, files, etc. Every time I open emacs, I spend a considerable amount of time arranging my buffers; splitting them into rows and columns, opening a shell, arranging irc channels. It takes a while to get onto work. I've tried adding the following to my init.el (desktop-save-mode 1) And then using M-x desktop-save. This only seems to restore files that are open, not shells or anything else running within buffers. I've also checked the following questions (sorry, not able to post links yet): Session management in emacs using Desktop library Emacs session / projects / window management Emacs: reopen buffers from last session on startup? And read through: DeskTop and EmacsSession at emacswiki.org/emacs/SessionManagement Here's a screenshot example of my emacs session. A simple answer would be to just focus on real work :P

  Hi guy, I need to integrate struts with spring for a project. I read the doc to ingrate struts and it's ok for classic beans but I have a problem for my forms. I have a form like this in my struts-config.xml: <form-beans> <form-bean name="creationForm" type="org.apache.struts.validator.DynaValidatorActionForm" > <form-property name="libelle" type="java.lang.String" /> <form-property name="quantite" type="java.lang.String" /> <form-property name="prix" type="java.lang.String" initial="10" /> </form-bean> But it's strange for me to have a "type" in struts-config because it's spring which manages beans. I don't found anything in the doc to manage forms by spring and the attribute "type" is mandatory for form in struts-config. Someone can help me please ?
