The Objective of this exercise is to give input as name and it greets with Hello Appended by that name example, if I give input as "James" the BPEL process returns "Hello James". 1. Open the Oracle JDeveloper click on File -> New Application give the name "JamesApp" you can give your own name if it pleases you. Select the folder where you want to place the application. Click "OK" 2. Right Click on the "JamesApp" in the Application Navigator, Select New Menu. 3. Select "Projects" under "General" and "BPEL Process Project", click "OK" these steps remain same for all BPEL Projects 4. Project Setting Wizard Appears, Give the "Process Name" as "MyBPELProc" and Namespace as http://xmlns.james.com/ MyBPELProc, Select Template as "Synchronous BPEL Process click "Next" 5. Accept the input and output schema names as it is, click "Finish" 6. You would see the BPEL Process Designer, some of the folders such as Integration content and Resources are created and few more files 7. Assign Activity : Allows Assigning values to variables or copying values of one variable to another and also do some string manipulation or mathematical operations In the component palette at extreme right, select Process Activities from the drop down, and drag and drop "Assign" between "receive Input" and "replyOutput" 8. You can right click and edit the Assign activity and give any suitable name "AssignHello", 9. Select "Copy Operation" Tab create "Copy Operation" 10. In the From variables click on expression builder, select input under "input variable", Click on insert into expression bar, complete the concat syntax, Note to use "Ctrl+space bar" inside expression window to Auto Populate the expression as shown in the figure below. What we are actually doing here is concatenating the String "Hello ", with the variable value received through the variable named "input" 11. Observe that once an expression is completed the "To Variable" is assigned to a variable by name "result" 12. Finally the copy variable looks as below 13. It's the time to deploy, start the SOA Suite 14. Establish connection to the Server from JDeveloper, this can be done adding a New Application Server under Connection, give the server name, username and password and test connection. 15. Deploy the "MyBPELProc" to the "default domain" 16. http://localhost:8080/ allows connecting to SOA Suite web portal, click on "BPEL Control" , login with the username "oc4jadmin" password what ever you gave during installation 17. "MyBPELProc" is visisble under "Deployed BPEL Processes" in the "Dashboard" Tab, click on the it 18. Initiate tab open to accept input, enter data such as input is "James" click on "Post XML Button" 19. Click on Visual Flow 20. Click on receive Input , it shows "James" as input received 21. Click on reply Output, it shows "Hello James" so the BPEL process is successfully executed. 22. It may be worth seeing all the instance created everytime a BPEL process is executed by giving some inputs. Purge All button allows to delete all the unwanted previous instances of BPEL process, dont worry it wont delete the BPEL process itself :-) 23. It may also be some importance to understand the XSD File which holds input & output variable names & data types. 24. You could drag n drop variables as elements over sequence at the designer or directly edit the XML Source file.

  • Bancassurers Seek IT Solutions to Support Distribution Model

    Oracle Insurance's director of marketing for EMEA, John Sinclair, attended the third annual Bancassurance Forum in Vienna last month. He reports that the outlook for bancassurance in EMEA remains positive, despite changing market conditions that have led a number of bancassurers to re-examine their business models. Vienna is at the crossroads between mature Western European markets, where bancassurance is now an established best practice, and more recently tapped Eastern European markets that offer the greatest growth potential. Attendance at the Bancassurance Forum was good, with 87 bancassurance attendees, most in very senior positions in the industry. The conference provided the chance for a lively discussion among bancassurers looking to keep abreast of the latest trends in one of Europe's most successful distribution models for insurance. Even under normal business conditions, there is a great demand for best practice sharing within the industry as there is no standard formula for success.  Each company has to chart its own course and choose the strategies for sales, products development and the structure of ownership that make sense for their business, and as soon as they get it right bancassurers need to adapt the mix to keep up with ever changing regulations, completion and economic conditions.  To optimize the overall relationship between banking and insurance for mutual benefit, a balance needs to be struck between potentially conflicting interests. The banking side of the house is looking for greater wallet share from its customers and the ability to increase profitability by bundling insurance products with higher margins - especially in light of the recent economic crisis, where margins for traditional banking products are low and completion high. The insurance side of the house seeks access to new customers through a complementary distribution channel that is efficient and cost effective. To make the relationship work, it is important that both sides of the same house forge strategic and long term relationships - irrespective of whether the underlying business model is supported by a distribution agreement, cross-ownership or other forms of capital structure. However, this third annual conference was not held under normal business conditions. The conference took place in challenging, yet interesting times. ING's forced spinoff of its insurance operations under pressure by the EU Commission and the troubling losses suffered by Allianz as a result of the Dresdner bank sale were fresh in everyone's mind. One year after markets crashed, there is now enough hindsight to better understand the implications for bancassurance and best practices that are emerging to deal with them. The loan-driven business that has been crucial to bancassurance up till now evaporated during the crisis, leaving bancassurers grappling with how to change their overall strategy from a loan-driven to a more diversified model.  Attendees came to the conference to learn what strategies were working - not only to cope with the market shift, but to take advantage of it as markets pick up. Over the course of 14 customer case studies and numerous analyst presentations, topical issues ranging from getting the business model right to the impact on capital structuring of Solvency II were debated openly. Many speakers alluded to the need to specifically design insurance products with the banking distribution channel in mind, which brings with it specific requirements such as a high degree of standardization to achieve efficiency and reduce training costs. Moreover, products must be engineered to suit end consumers who consider banks a one-stop shop. The importance of IT to the successful implementation of bancassurance strategies was a theme that surfaced regularly throughout the conference.  The cross-selling opportunity - that will ultimately determine the success or failure of any bancassurance model - can only be fully realized through a flexible IT architecture that enables banking and insurance processes to be integrated and presented to front-line staff through a common interface. However, the reality is that most bancassurers have legacy IT systems, which constrain the businesses' ability to implement new strategies to maintaining competitiveness in turbulent times. My colleague Glenn Lottering, who chaired the conference, believes that the primary opportunities for bancassurers to extract value from their IT infrastructure investments lie in distribution management, risk management with the advent of Solvency II, and achieving operational excellence. "Oracle is ideally suited to meet the needs of bancassurance," Glenn noted, "supplying market-leading software for both banking and insurance. Oracle provides adaptive systems that let customers easily integrate hybrid business processes from both worlds while leveraging existing IT infrastructure." Overall, the consensus at the conference was that the outlook for bancassurance in EMEA remains positive, despite changing market conditions that have led a number of bancassurers to re-examine their business models. But when trying to do so, as described in C# 4.0 in a Nutshell: The Definitive Reference, Fourth Edition, Chapter 20, each time I call Permission.Assert, an InvalidOperationException "Cannot perform CAS Asserts in Security Transparent methods" is thrown. So how is it possible to turn off transparency to be able to use CAS Asserts?

    I am trying to set up WCF service in production. The service has two bindings with two different interfaces. One endpoint (basicHttpBinding) is set up at HTTP and the other endpoint (wsHttpBinding) is set up securely over SSL. I can't get this scenario to work. Everything works with no problem if both endpoints are set up over HTTP. Before I even get into the specifics of errors I get, is is possible to run secure and insecure endpoint over the same service ?   • Having a POST'able API and Django's CSRF Middleware

    I have a Django webapp that has both a front-end, web-accessible component and an API that is accessed by a desktop client. However, now with the new CSRF middleware component, API requests from the desktop client that are POST'ed get a 403. I understand why this is happening, but what is the proper way to fix this without compromising security? Is there someway I can signal in the HTTP header that it's an API request and that Django shouldn't be checking for CSRF or is that a bad strategy?

    If I accidentally double escape a string, can the DB be harmed? For the purposes of this question, let's say I'm not using parametrized queries For example, let's say I get the following input: bob's bike And I escape that: bob\'s bike But my code is horrible, and escapes it again: bob\\\'s bike Now, if I insert that into a DB, the value in the DB will be bob\'s bike Which, while is not what I want, won't harm the DB. Is it possible for any input that's double escaped to do something malicious to the DB assuming that I take all other necessary security precautions?

    greetings all i am deploying an app using spring framework on the apache tomcat when running the application from the tomcat directly,there's no jsessionid appended to any url at all but after mapping the application to the domain,and trying to run it i got a jsessionid appended to each url in the application,i tried the spring security attribute disable-url-rewriting but it doesn't work,it removes the jsessionid from the url but the application doesn't work no more,the user cannot login. so i guess it's another problem,any ideas why this happens,how to solve it? thanks.

I had to un-set two things in urlscan.ini: 1) Set VerifyNormalization to 0 (disabled) 2) Remove the percent sign from the "DenyUrlSequences" section Do an iisreset, and it problem solved.
