• Getting an XML node using LINQ

  Somehow, using linq I can't test it with this CUF field in the beginning: <NFe> <infNFe versao="1.0" Id="NFe0000000000"> <ide> <cUF>35</cUF> <!--...--> </ide> </NFe> With the following code: XDocument document = XDocument.Load(@"c:\nota.xml"); var query = from NFe in document.Descendants("NFe") select new { cuf = NFe.Element("infNFe").Element("ide").Element("cUF").Value }; The whole XML loads into document (checked) but NFe.cuf gives me nothing. I guess the parameters inside the nodes are messing it up.. How do I get this "cuf" with linq? What if I wanted the Id parameter in infNFe ?

  I have several question for the Django Admin feature. Im kind of new in Django so im not sure how to do it. Basically what Im looking to do is when Im adding information on the model. Some of the fields i want them to be drop-downs and maybe combo-boxes with AutoCompleteMode.   Hit a speed bump, trying to update some column values in my table from another table. This is what is supposed to happen when everything works Correct all the city, state entries in tblWADonations by creating an update statement that moves the zip city from the joined city/state zip field to the tblWADonations city state TBL NAME | COLUMN NAMES tblZipcodes with zip,city,State tblWADonations with zip,oldcity,oldstate This is what I have so far: UPDATE tblWADonations SET oldCity = tblZipCodes.city, oldState = tblZipCodes.state FROM tblWADonations INNER JOIN tblZipCodes ON tblWADonations.zip = tblZipCodes.zip Where oldCity <> tblZipcodes.city; There seems to be easy ways to do this online but I am overlooking something. Tried this by hand and in editor this is what it kicks back. Msg 8152, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated. • Filtering MySQL query result according to a interval of timestamp

  Let's say I have a very large MySQL table with a timestamp field. So I want to filter out some of the results not to have too many rows because I am going to print them. Let's say the timestamps are increasing as the number of rows increase and they are like every one minute on average. (Does not necessarily to be exactly once every minute, ex: 2010-06-07 03:55:14, 2010-06-07 03:56:23, 2010-06-07 03:57:01, 2010-06-07 03:57:51, 2010-06-07 03:59:21 ...) As I mentioned earlier I want to filter out some of the records, I do not have specific rule to do that, but I was thinking to filter out the rows according to the timestamp interval. After I achieve filtering I want to have a result set which has a certain amount of minutes between timestamps on average (ex: 2010-06-07 03:20:14, 2010-06-07 03:29:23, 2010-06-07 03:38:01, 2010-06-07 03:49:51, 2010-06-07 03:59:21 ...) Last but not least, the operation should not take incredible amount of time, I need this functionality to be almost fast as a normal select operation. Do you have any suggestions?

• ORA-22835 using JPA (Buffer too small)

  I am trying to persist an Entity with a @Lob annotated String field. The content of that fiels if bigger than the 40k buffer size limit. The first problem I had was related to the setString method used internally by the JPA implementation (Hibernate in my case) and the Oracle JDBC Driver. This problem was solved adding <property name="hibernate.connection.SetBigStringTryClob" value="true"/> to my persistence.xml file. Then, the error changed to a ORA-22835 error (the buffer is too small). ¿Is there any way that JPA solves this problem without going to a low-level implementation? ¿Any suggestions?

In second query Any returns true so it won't work with Count. Suggest me a way to implement this.

• How To: UiBinder + GWT MVP + multiple independent display areas

  I am using GWT MVP and UiBinder to create an app with a DockLayoutPanel. I want the north and south docks to be static, containing buttons and links. I want to have dynamic views in the center and two different areas of the east dock. As these dynamic areas should be independent of each other, I am setting up different ActivityMapper and ActivityManager's for each dynamic display area; center, east-top, and east-bottom. How can I independently initialize these 3 different display areas when the application is loaded? How can I switch from one Activity to another in one display area without affecting the other areas? When I use the the PlaceController's goTo to switch from one Place to another in one area, the other area's Activity is stopped. Mayday, please help, mayday!   Suppose I have the following Domain object mapping to a legacy table, utilizing read-only second-level cache, and having a transient field: class DomainObject { static def transients = ['userId'] Long id Long userId static mapping = { cache usage: 'read-only' table 'SOME_TABLE' } } I have a problem, references to DomainObject instances seem to be shared due to the caching, and thus transient fields are writing over each other. For example, def r1 = DomainObject.get(1) r1.userId = 22 def r2 = DomainObject.get(1) r2.userId = 34 assert r1.userId == 34 That is, r1 and r2 are references to the same instance. This is undesirable, I would like to cache the table data without sharing references. Any ideas?

Is there a SQL technique to make this easy?

• WPF Validation with ContentPresenter

  Hi, I have a WPF user control which needs to validate some fields. It is bound to a class implementing IDataErrorInfo. When I set the user control as the content of my ContentPresenter in another, already open, window, I can see validation occurring, and error messages being returned, however, I don't get any validation adorner - e.g. the default red outline. If I enter the field and leave it (triggering re-validation) the validation adorner appears. Also, if I show the user control in it's own window it shows the validation adorner immediately. (I'm using Caliburn IResults to do this underneath, e.g. Show.Dialog<VM>(); but I suspect this isn't related) Can anyone offer any suggestion why the validation adorners aren't appearing immediately. (I had guessed animation on my ContentPresenter ContentChanged, however, I have removed this and still experience the problem. thanks, Chris

• Use ModalPopupExtender without having to set TargetControlID?

  I'd like to use a modalpopupextender in my asp.net page to show a sub form. But it only has to show on specific conditions. Those conditions are determined in a piece of javascript code. So, most importantly, the modal popup doesn't have to show on a button click. However, if I leave the property TargetControlID empty I get the following exception: The TargetControlID of 'ModalPopupExtender1' is not valid. The value cannot be null or empty. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: The TargetControlID of 'ModalPopupExtender1' is not valid. The value cannot be null or empty. Do I just have the TargetControlID to an hidden button or is there aslo a more decent option? Thanks.

• J2me Blackberry Numeric Input

  Hello, I am developing a blackberry application using j2me and LWUIT (blackberry port). Everything works great except for the TextField in numeric mode. Basically when you have focus on the TextField you have to first go into "NUMERIC" mode (by pressing alt + aA) in order to input, which is not user friendly and a problem. The proposed solution is to use a TextArea instead that allows you to open a NATIVE type input box. The problem there is that the user needs to focus the field and then press the fire button which again is unfriendly. Does anyone know of any simple solutions? The few solutions i have in mind (but not sure how to do them): 1) Capture any keypress on the TextArea and go into NATIVE mode, instead of just the fire key. 2) Put the blackberry input mode into numeric using code for the whole form.   I am working on a new project and hoping to use LINQ to SQL for the data access but have come across the following issue. I need to have my application access 3 databases with similar but not the same table structure, for example Database1 and Database 2 has a table called tblCustomer with 2 columns CustomerKey and CustomerName Database2 has a table called tblCustomer with 3 columns CustomerKey, CustomerName and CustomerPostCode I am looking for a solution that will allow me a query all three databases without the need for 3 GetCustomerList functions as Database1 and Database2 could use the same function as are the same structure, with an override function for database 3 to bring back the additional field.   Hi folks, I'm helping out a business by providing an Access DB to manage requests of various types. As they are a construction company, they have one machine in an 'office' on the building site, plus 3 based in their main office. The machine on site has no internet connectivity. Is there any (reasonably simple) way to synchronise these databases every so often? I realise the tables could be merged, but each has an autoincrement field which must be synced between instances (i.e. when merging two tables the autoincrement should be reassigned based on the combination of records).   Trying to create a custom cyclical horizontal manager which will work as follows. It will control several field buttons where the buttons will always be positioned so that the focused button will be in the middle of the screen. As it is a cyclical manager once the focus moves to the right or left button, it will move to the center of the screen and all the buttons will move accordingly (and the last button will become the first to give it an cyclic and endless list feeling) Any idea how to address this? I tried doing this by implementing a custom manager which aligns the buttons according to the required layout. Each time moveFocus() is called I remove all fields (deleteAll() ) and add them again in the right order. Unfortunately this does not work.

  I need to extract parts of a string using regex in Python. I'm good with basic regex but I'm terrible at lookarounds. I've shown two sample records below. The last big is always a currency field e.g. in the first one it is 4,76. In the second one it is 2,00. The second has an account number that is the pattern of \d{6}-\d{6}. Anything after that is the currency. 24.02 24.02VALINTATALO MEGAHERTSI4,76- 24.02 24.02DOE MRIDANG 157235-1234582,00- Could you help me out with this regex?   Hi All I want to read in a csv file, filter it based on the values of two of the fields and set the value of another field. As you can see, from the example about, I can read in and filter the array. But I don't know how to then set the value of the thirdField. I tried set-itemproperty but got the error: "The WriteObject and WriteError methods cannot be called after the pipeline has been closed". Any advice on how to achive this would be appreciated.   Howdy all, I'm working with a UITextField that holds a localized currency value. I've seen lots of posts on how to work with this, but my question is: how do I re-apply currency formatting to the UITextField after every key press? I know that I can set up and use a currency formatter with: NSNumberFormatter *currencyFormatter = [[NSNumberFormatter alloc] init]; [currencyFormatter setNumberStyle:NSNumberFormatterCurrencyStyle]; ... [currencyFormatter stringFromNumber:...]; but I don't know how to hook it up. For instance, if the value in the field reads "$12,345" and the user taps the "6" key, then the value should change to "$123,456". Which callback is the "correct" one to do this in (should I use textField:shouldChangeCharactersInRange:replacementString: or a custom target-action) and how do I use the NSNumberFormatter to parse and re-apply formatting to the UITextField's text property? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

• JTable's and DefaultTableModel's row indexes lose their synchronization after I sort JTable

The code I wrote above works fine except when: I use the sort of the GUI (click on the field name I want to sort on the table) The table is properly sorted but after that when I select a row, it gets the value of the row that was there before the sort. This means that after sorting (using the JTable's GUI) the 'myModel' and 'resultsTable' objects have different row indexes. How do I synchronize those two?

  Hi guys. Thanks in advance for any help received. I want to allow our client to enter a URL into a text field which then checks whether the URL exists and works. There are 3 possible outcomes I want to check for: A status of 200 - OK, A status of 500 - Server Error, Or a status of 404 - page not found. When executing the following code in ASP classic I get a status code of 12007 when I should be getting 404. Is this because it can't find a webserver to return a code of 404?
