    hey guys, what's the best way to do that: i have a list <ul> <li>hello</li> <li>good bye</li> <li>arrivederci</li> <li class="selected">dude</li> <li>whatever</li> </ul> Initially one item already has a class of .selected applied. When i hover over one of the list-items i want this one to have the .selected class. So every item should only have the class applied when im over, as soon as i leave the item the class get's removed and the next one has the class.

    First I have a animate a iframe which id is "test" <iframe id="test" src=""></iframe> then I want animate it and hide it ,make a close effect like in MacOS: $('#test').animate({ 'width':0, 'height':0, 'top':$('input').offset().top, 'left':$('input').offset().left },function(){ //$(this).hide(); }).hide(); but it seems the iframe can not be hide.However,if I write it in the callback function that in animate,which is the annotated code above.It could work again. Here is online case So I wonder why the hide() after animate() doesn't work?Do I miss something ?

    I tried: $('#canvas').append('<div class="tile"></div>').css({left: leftPos, top: topPos});, but that sets the style of #canvas rather than the appended element. I then tried: $('#canvas').append(('<div class="tile"></div>').css({left: leftPos, top: topPos}));, but that gives the error "Object <div class="tile"></div> has no method 'css'". How can I add the element and set its style at the same time?

    I have a page that shows a bunch of thumbnails (around 30), and the client is wanting them to appear one by one, in order, going from left to right on the page.     I am trying to create a preview window for my texteditor in my blog page. I need to send the content to the server to clean up the text entered before I can preview it on the preview window. I was trying to use $.ajax({ type: method, url: url, data: values, success: LoadPageCallback(targetID), error: function(msg) { $('#' + targetID).attr('innerHTML', 'An error has occurred. Please try again.'); } }); Whenever I tried to click on the preview button it returns an XMLHTTPRequest error. The error description - Description: Request Validation has detected a potentially dangerous client input value, and processing of the request has been aborted. This value may indicate an attempt to compromise the security of your application, such as a cross-site scripting attack. You can disable request validation by setting validateRequest=false in the Page directive or in the configuration section. However, it is strongly recommended that your application explicitly check all inputs in this case. The ValidateRequest for the page is set to false. Is there a way I can set validaterequest to false for the ajax call.Please advise Thank you for reading my post.

  • How to create a gesture controlled rotating image for a UI

    I'm trying to figure out the best way to make an image rotate along with a user's finger dragging it left or right. I want to try and match the rate a user's finger is moving with the rate the image is rotating. I've got the basic setup for my application going, with the menus and whatnot I want to have, and that's all running great on the emulator, I'm just not sure how to approach this part. I can code all the logic I need for my app, I'm just not doing to well designing the UI, I have a picture in mind, I've actually made a couple mock images of it, I just can't figure out how to get it going in Android, and any help would be appreciated.

    This question is in continuation to How to get attributes of container in jquer, I have different containers on my webpage and all of them have <div id = "some values"> now how can I get attributes values separately for each component ? Is there any way I can know which attribute id belong to which container div ? Currently I am using : var id = $( '.promotion' ).attr( 'id' ); But if I have multiple promotional components on page and all have same div attribute as id than how can I relate that this particular attribute id belonged to this specific container ? Update: I am having a function which is called for each container present on the page and so if I am using above mentioned code than will it not always return me the first match for id in the div and would never go to other divs and so I will always get same value for id which is for the first container ? If so than what is the work around for this ? Hope this question is clear.

    Hi there, I am looking for an alternative to using an object/variable in global scope -- I would like to associate key/value pairs with specific DOM elements (eg, a DIV), so that I can use them as input for logic that processes other elements (eg, child elements of said DIV). I tried something naive like: $('[foo=bar]').key='value' , and $('[foo=bar]')[key]='value', but it puked. Doing something like: var foobar = $('[foo=bar]'); foobar.key = 'value' -- works, but the new property/value only affects the new object (ie, foobar, not $('[foo=bar]')) Most likely there's something terribly basic I am overlooking. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • Recieveing "EXC_BAD_ACCESS" before any UI elements load (on device only)

    Everything works fine on the simulator, but I gete EXC_BAD_ACCESS when I try to load my app on the device. I've put in a bunch of NSLogs to try and catch where it happens, but the log statements are never reached. Also, the UI doesn't load. So, seems the problem is happening before any of my code is reached. I tried a clean build, no luck. Also tried building and installing a different app, which works fine. So, looks like there's something wrong with my app, but it's something that happens before any of my code gets called. So, any ideas?
