  • WPF-to stroke arc with two different brushes

    i am new to geometric drawing in wpf. i have a volmeter arc that needs to have alert value. The section of the arc beyond that alert value has to be done with a different color than the rest of the arc. hence the arc is brushed with 2 different colors. a path has one brush at a time.hence how i apply two different pens to the same arc? the alert value is obtained with a lot of pain by doing calculations like gemetry.getpointatfraction.it won't easy to apply triggers any suggestions /approach?

  • Preserving NULL values in a Double Variable

    Hi, I'm working on a vb.net application which imports from an Excel spreadsheet. If rdr.HasRows Then Do While rdr.Read() If rdr.GetValue(0).Equals(System.DBNull.Value) Then Return Nothing Else Return rdr.GetValue(0) End If Loop Else I was using string value to store the double values and when preparing the database statement I'd use this code: If (LastDayAverage = Nothing) Then command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@WF_LAST_DAY_TAG", System.DBNull.Value) Else command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@WF_LAST_DAY_TAG", Convert.ToDecimal(LastDayAverage)) End If I now have some data with quite a few decimal places and the data was put into the string variable in scientific notation, so this seems to be the wrong approach. It didn't seem right using the string variable to begin with. If I use a double or decimal type variable, the blank excel values come across as 0.0. How can I preserve the blank values? Thanks

    I have an optgroup like this: <optgroup label="Eller välj Län" title="Eller välj Län" style="background-color:#FC9;"> <option value="Blekinge Län">Blekinge</option> <option value="Dalarna Län">Dalarna</option> <option value="Gotlands Län">Gotland</option> </optgroup> Problem is, only in Firefox, the class applies to all options inside the optgroup.   • Embedded YouTube video slows down page load

    Hi, total newbie here - trying to figure out how to make a page load faster with 1 embedded YouTube video on it - a very modest page takes an extra 5 seconds to completely load with the YouTube player showing up. I'd either like the page to load first or to only load the video when user clicks on it - don't know how to do that..   • C# log base 10 and rounding up to nearest power of 10?

    Hi, if i have a number between 100 and 1000 i want to get the value 3 because 10^3 = 1000. Likewise, if i had a number between 10 and 100 i would want to get the value 2, because 10^2 is 100. Incase you're wondering, its to do with calculating a probability and i always need to divide through by 10^value, to keep the probability between 0 and 1. For example if i calculate 9256, i need to divide through by 10^4, so that i get a probability of 0.92 I'm not sure how to do the rounding up and how to do the base 10, could someone please help?

  • Do you have to call .Save() when modifying a application setting that is bound to a control property

    I am programming in .NET I have an application setting of type string. On my form I have a textbox. I bound the text property of the textbox to my application setting. If I type something in the textbox it changes the value that is held in the Application setting but the next time I start the program it goes back to the default value. Do I need to call Properties.Settings.Default.Save(); after the text is entered for the new value to be saved? Shouldn't it do this automatically? Is there a way I can make it do it automatically?

    I need to create a field called “rank”, that ranks each part ID based on total sales, by assigning a sequential number based on total sales, where the higher the total sales, then the lower the rank value. For example, the part ID with the most sales would have a rank value of “1” and the part ID with the next highest sales would have a rank value of “2” and the part ID with the lowest sales would rank with the highest number. If 2 different parts ID’s have the same total sales, then it is OK if they share the same rank.     Is there a good way in Django to convert an entire model to a dictionary? I mean, like this: class DictModel(models.Model): key = models.CharField(20) value = models.CharField(200) DictModel.objects.all().to_dict() ... with the result being a dictionary with the key/value pairs made up of records in the Model? Has anyone else seen this as being useful for them? Thanks. Update I just wanted to add is that my ultimate goal is to be able to do a simple variable lookup inside a Template.     I load a piece of html which contains something like: <em> < input type="text" value="Untitled" name="ViewTitle" id="ViewTitle" runat="server"> </em> into my control. The html is user defined, do please do not ask me to add them statically on the aspx page. On my page, I have a placeholder and I can use LiteralControl target = new LiteralControl (); // html string contains user-defined controls target.text = htmlstring to render it property. My problem is, since its a html piece, even if i know the input box's id, i cannot access it using FindControl("ViewTitle") (it will just return null) because its rendered as a text into a Literal control and all the input controls were not added to the container's control collections. I definitely can use Request.Form["ViewTitle"] to access its value, but how can I set its value?

  • C++: Checking for non-numeric input and assigning to a double

    Here is the code I have at the moment: char ch; int sum = 0; double values[10]; int i = 0; cin >> ch; while (!isalpha(ch)) { values[i] = ch; sum += values[i]; i++; cin >> ch; } What is happening is that if I enter the value 1, that gets assigned to ch as a char. Now ch is assigning it's value to a double and doing an implicit cast. So it is assigning the ASCII value of '1' to values[i]. I want it to just assign 1 to values[i]. Is there a better way to do this? Or is there something that I'm missing?

    Is there anything built into the C++ Standard Library that allows me to work in a priority queue/heap like data structure (i.e., can always pop the highest value from the list, can define how the highest value is determined for custom classes, etc.) but allows me to update the keys in the heap? I'm dealing with fairly simple data, pairs to be exact, but I need to be able to update the value of a given key within the heap easily for my algorithm to function. WHat is the best way to achieve this in C++?

    I have set up a default setting for my app using Root.plist, giving this a Boolean DefaultValue of YES (ticked checkbox).You can see a screengrab at http://www.infin8design.com/clients/stack/plist.png However, when my app is first launched, the YES value is not picked up, and the setting is read as a NO (or 0). The user has to manually go into the settings app, turn the toggleswitch off, then turn it back on again for this setting to hold a YES(1) value. I'm logging the value with appDidFinishLaunching like this. - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; NSLog(@"%d",[defaults boolForKey:@"include_phrases"]); SO... my question is...   • Is it possible to append html code in parts via JQuery?

    I am trying to append li elements coming from a php file with JQuery. Problem is that the html code needs to be seperately appended to different html IDs according to the key value. Unfortunately as I understood append() can only append correct html with all elements closed. Otherwise it will automatically close the tags. The following code will NOT work as dval contains code like <div><li class="some">Some value</li> and append() will make <div><li class="some">Some value</li></div> out of it. I'm looking to create an options table in my db that makes every record a system option, so i can work with a little number of fields. my db has the following structure: 3 columns named id, name, and value following data is inserted as an example -- id - name - value 1 - uri - www.example.com 2 - sitename - Working it out 3 - base_folder - /folder1/folder2/ 4 - slogan - Just a slogan for the site -- that way i can include a large number of customizable system options very easily the problem is that i don't know how to retrieve them how do i get the value of uri and store it as a var? and better yet, how do i get, for exmaple, values of id 1 and 4 only without making a query each time? (i assume multiple queries are useless and a pretty ugly method) i know the question is pretty basic but i'm lost here. i'd really appreciate your answer! Thanks in advance

  • Collapsing rows of duplicate dates in a column leaving one row with a subtotal?

    I have several thousand rows of date, time, and values in columns. Each row is contains a date, time for that date, and a value for that time period (hour) So each 24 rows has the same date with each having the next hour of the day. I'd like to collapse or group the 24 rows leaving the last row with a subtotal of the value (column D) to the right in column F. While this can obviously be done manually, several years of data would take a while and there ought to be a way to do this other wise?
