  • Object as itemValue in <f:selectItems>

    - by Ehsun
    Is it possible to have objects as itemValue in tag? for example I have a class Foo: public class Foo { private int id; private String name; private Date date; } And another class Bar public class Bar { private Foo foos; } public class BarBean { private Set<Foo> foos; } Now in a Bean called BarBean I need to have a to get the Foo of the current Bar from User like this: <h:selectOneMenu value="#{barBean.bar.foo}" required="true"> <f:selectItems value="#{barBean.foos}" var="foo" itemLabel="#{foo.name}" itemValue="#{foo}" /> </h:selectOneMenu> ---------------edited: my converter: package ir.khorasancustoms.g2g.converters; import ir.khorasancustoms.g2g.persistance.CatalogValue; import java.util.ResourceBundle; import javax.faces.application.FacesMessage; import javax.faces.component.UIComponent; import javax.faces.context.FacesContext; import javax.faces.convert.Converter; import javax.faces.convert.FacesConverter; import org.hibernate.Session; import org.hibernate.SessionFactory; import org.hibernate.Transaction; import org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration; @FacesConverter("ir.khorasancustoms.CatalogValueConverter") public class CatalogValueConverter implements Converter { @Override public Object getAsObject(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, String value) { SessionFactory factory = new Configuration().configure().buildSessionFactory(); Session session = factory.openSession(); try { int id = Integer.parseInt(value); CatalogValue catalogValue = (CatalogValue) session.load(CatalogValue .class, id); return catalogValue; } catch (Exception ex) { Transaction tx = session.getTransaction(); if (tx.isActive()) { tx.rollback(); } ResourceBundle rb = ResourceBundle.getBundle("application"); String message = rb.getString("databaseConnectionFailed"); FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage(null, new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_FATAL, message, message)); } finally { session.close(); } return null; } @Override public String getAsString(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) { return ((CatalogValue) value).getId() + ""; } } and my facelet: <h:outputText value="#{lbls.paymentUnit}:"/> <h:selectOneMenu id="paymentUnit" label="#{lbls.paymentUnit}" value="#{price.price.ctvUnit}" required="true"> <f:selectItems value="#{price.paymentUnits}"/> <f:converter converterId="ir.khorasancustoms.CatalogValueConverter"/> </h:selectOneMenu> <h:message for="paymentUnit" infoClass="info" errorClass="error" warnClass="warning" fatalClass="fatal"/>

  • Possible for C++ template to check for a function's existence?

    - by andy
    Is it possible to write a C++ template that changes behavior depending on if a certain member function is defined on a class? Here's a simple example of what I would want to write: template<class T> std::string optionalToString(T* obj) { if (FUNCTION_EXISTS(T->toString)) return obj->toString(); else return "toString not defined"; } So if class T has "toString" defined then it uses it, otherwise it doesn't. The magical part that I don't know how to do is the "FUNCTION_EXISTS" part.

  • Object inside of array -- works in one scope but not in another?

    - by Earlz
    Ok I've been learning some of the more advanced aspects of Javascript and now trying to use this I'm stuck. Here is my code: function Data(){} function init(state){ var item; item=new Data(); item.fieldrid=17; item.description='foo'; state.push(item); }; function findInState(state,fieldrid) { for (var item in state) { alert(item.fieldrid); //prints undefined if (item.fieldrid == fieldrid) { return item; } } return null; } var s=[]; init(s); alert(s[0].fieldrid); //prints 17 (expected) alert(findInState(s,17).fieldrid); //exception here. function returns null. A running example is here at jsbin Why does this not work? I would expect the alert in findInState to yield 17 but instead it yields undefined. What am I doing wrong?

  • Predicates and Lists

    - by George
    Hello guys, I have a generic list. Some elements of this list belong to a parent element. I retrieved all these elements from a database and i want to recursively build a tree with them. So, here's what i'm thinking: Here is my predicate: public static bool FindChildren(Int32 parentId,CategoryMapping catMapping) { if (catMapping.parentId == parentId) { return true; } else { return false; } } root = list[0]; root.childrenElements = root.FindAll(FindChildren(root.id,???) I can't figure out how this would work. How can i do this kind of predicate?

  • SimpleInjector - Register a type for all it's interfaces

    - by Karl Cassar
    Is it possible to register a type for all it's implementing interfaces? E.g, I have a: public class Bow : IWeapon { #region IWeapon Members public string Attack() { return "Shooted with a bow"; } #endregion } public class HumanFighter { private readonly IWeapon weapon = null; public HumanFighter(IWeapon weapon) { this.weapon = weapon; } public string Fight() { return this.weapon.Attack(); } } [Test] public void Test2b() { Container container = new Container(); container.RegisterSingle<Bow>(); container.RegisterSingle<HumanFighter>(); // this would match the IWeapon to the Bow, as it // is implemented by Bow var humanFighter1 = container.GetInstance<HumanFighter>(); string s = humanFighter1.Fight(); }

  • Is it necessary to declare attribute [DataMember(Order=n)] on public method?

    - by veera
    In my solution, I have created public class to store value and already declare [DataContract/DataMember] attribute. For example, [DataContract] public class MeterSizeInfo { string _meterSizeId; [DataMember(Order = 1)] public string MeterSizeId { get { return this._meterSizeId; } set { this._meterSizeId = value; } } string _meterSizeName; [DataMember(Order = 2)] public string MeterSizeName { get { return this._meterSizeName; } set { this._meterSizeName = value; } } } Then I need to add another public method exposing to entire project. I wonder I have to add [DataMember(Order = 3)] for it or not. [DataMember(Order = 3)] //<--- must declare or not? public string DoSomething() { // do something... } I understand that if I want to use serializer in protobuf-net to serialize my data stored in, I have to declare those attribute. but I'm not sure about that on method. please help. Thank you in advance.

  • In Python, are there builtin functions for elementwise boolean operators over boolean lists?

    - by bshanks
    For example, if you have n lists of bools of the same length, then elementwise boolean AND should return another list of that length that has True in those positions where all the input lists have True, and False everywhere else. It's pretty easy to write, i just would prefer to use a builtin if one exists (for the sake of standardization/readability). Here's an implementation of elementwise AND: def eAnd(*args): return [all(tuple) for tuple in zip(*args)] example usage: >>> eAnd([True, False, True, False, True], [True, True, False, False, True], [True, True, False, False, True]) [True, False, False, False, True] thx

  • Implementing Clonable in Java

    - by Artium
    In which cases should I use this way: public A clone() throws CloneNotSupportedException { A clone = (A)super.clone(); clone.x= this.x; return clone; } And in which cases should I use that way: public ShiftedStack clone() throws CloneNotSupportedException { return new A(this.x); } What should I do if x is final and I want to use the first way? Regarding the first way, I understand it like this: we clone the super class and up-cast it, leading to some members uninitialized. After this initialize these members. Is my understanding correct? Thank you.

  • Common Utility for Exception Searching

    - by Andrew
    I wrote this little helper method to search the exception chain for a particular exception (either equals or super class). However, this seems like a solution to a common problem, so was thinking it must already exist somewhere, possibly in a library I have already imported. So, any ideas on if/where this might exist? boolean exceptionSearch(Exception base, Class<?> search) { Throwable e = base; do { if (search.isAssignableFrom(e.getClass())) { return true; } } while ((e = e.getCause()) != null); return false; }

  • Clear sqlalchemy reflection cache

    - by OrganicPanda
    Hi all, I'm using sqlalchemy's reflection tools to get a Table object. I do this because these tables are dynamic and tables/columns can change. Here's the code I'm using: def getTableByReflection(self, tableName, metadata, engine): return Table(tableName, metadata, autoload = True, autoload_with = engine) The problem is that when the above code is run twice it seems to return the same results regardless of whether or not the columns have changed. I have tried refreshing using the mysession.refresh(mytable) but that fails because the table is not attached to any metadata - which makes sense but then why am I seeing cached results? Is there any way to tell the metadata/engine/session to forget about this table and let me load it cleanly?

  • c++ variable declaration

    - by swan
    Hello, Im wondering if this code: int main(){ int p; for(int i = 0; i < 10; i++){ p = ...; } return 0 } is exactly the same as that one int main(){ for(int i = 0; i < 10; i++){ int p = ...; } return 0 } in term of efficiency ? I mean, the p variable will be recreated 10 times in the second example ?

  • Entity Framework (4.0) how to exclude a related table.

    - by Kohan
    I have just updated to using EF 4.0 where before i was using Linq 2 SQL. I have a query: var UserList = this.repository.GetUsers(); return Json(UserList, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet); This was generating an error: "A circular reference was detected while serializing an object of type" This prompted this code which worked fine in L2S: var UserList = this.repository.GetUsers(); foreach (User u in UserList){ u.Subscriptions = null; } return Json(UserList, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet); How can i stop EF from looking into the Subscriptions table, i just want the Userlist, none of the related properties and the above example does not seem to work for this. Cheers, Kohan

  • Defined variables and arrays vs functions in php

    - by Frank Presencia Fandos
    Introduction I have some sort of values that I might want to access several times each page is loaded. I can take two different approaches for accessing them but I'm not sure which one is 'better'. Three already implemented examples are several options for the Language, URI and displaying text that I describe here: Language Right now it is configured in this way: lang() is a function that returns different values depending on the argument. Example: lang("full") returns the current language, "English", while lang() returns the abbreviation of the current language, "en". There are many more options, like lang("select"), lang("selectact"), etc that return different things. The code is too long and irrelevant for the case so if anyone wants it just ask for it. Url The $Url array also returns different values depending on the request. The whole array is fully defined in the beginning of the page and used to get shorter but accurate links of the current page. Example: $Url['full'] would return "http://mypage.org/path/to/file.php?page=1" and $Url['file'] would return "file.php". It's useful for action="" within the forms and many other things. There are more values for $Url['folder'], $Url['file'], etc. Same thing about the code, if wanted, just request it. Text [You can skip this section] There's another array called $Text that is defined in the same way than $Url. The whole array is defined at the beginning, making a mysql call and defining all $Text[$i] for current page with a while loop. I'm not sure if this is more efficient than multiple calls for a single mysql cell. Example: $Text['54'] returns "This is just a test array!" which this could perfectly be implemented with a function like text(54). Question With the 3 examples you can see that I use different methods to do almost the same function (no pun intended), but I'm not sure which one should become the standard one for my code. I could create a function called url() and other called text() to output what I want. I think that working with functions in those cases is better, but I'm not sure why. So I'd really appreciate your opinions and advice. Should I mix arrays and functions in the way I described or should I just use funcions? Please, base your answer in this: The source needs to be readable and reusable by other developers Resource consumption (processing, time and memory). The shorter the code the better. The more you explain the reasons the better. Thank you PS, now I know the differences between $Url and $Uri.

  • How do I scope variables properly in jQuery?

    - by safetycopy
    I'm working on a jQuery plugin, but am having some trouble getting my variables properly scoped. Here's an example from my code: (function($) { $.fn.ksana = function(userOptions) { var o = $.extend({}, $.fn.ksana.defaultOptions, userOptions); return this.each(function() { alert(rotate()); // o is not defined }); }; function rotate() { return Math.round(o.negRot + (Math.random() * (o.posRot - o.negRot))); }; $.fn.ksana.defaultOptions = { negRot: -20, posRot: 20 }; })(jQuery); I'm trying to get the private function rotate to be able to see the o variable, but it just keeps alerting 'o is not defined'. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

  • Will C++1x support __stdcall or extern "C" capture-nothing lambdas?

    - by Daniel Trebbien
    Yesterday I was thinking about whether it would be possible to use the convenience of C++1x lambda functions to write callbacks for Windows API functions. For example, what if I wanted to use a lambda as an EnumChildProc with EnumChildWindows? Something like: EnumChildWindows(hTrayWnd, CALLBACK [](HWND hWnd, LPARAM lParam) { // ... return static_cast<BOOL>(TRUE); // continue enumerating }, reinterpret_cast<LPARAM>(&myData)); Another use would be to write extern "C" callbacks for C routines. E.g.: my_class *pRes = static_cast<my_class*>(bsearch(&key, myClassObjectsArr, myClassObjectsArr_size, sizeof(my_class), extern "C" [](const void *pV1, const void *pV2) { const my_class& o1 = *static_cast<const my_class*>(pV1); const my_class& o2 = *static_cast<const my_class*>(pV2); int res; // ... return res; })); Is this possible?

  • Help with authorization and redirection decorator in python (pylons)

    - by ensnare
    I'm trying to write a simple decorator to check the authentication of a user, and to redirect to the login page if s/he is not authenticated: def authenticate(f): try: if user['authenticated'] is True: return f except: redirect_to(controller='login', action='index') class IndexController(BaseController): @authenticate def index(self): return render('/index.mako' ) But this approach doesn't work. When a user is authenticated, everything is fine. But when the user is not authenticated, redirect_to() doesn't work and I am given this error: HTTPFound: 302 Found Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Content-Length: 0 location: /login Thank for your help!

  • table row long press

    - by adoo42
    I have a table which is built dynamically based on how much data is present, if at all. I want to be able to long press anywhere on a the table row to be able to get some options to delete or edit etc. Is this possible? Remember I need to do all this without setting any XML as its dynamically built. Is this relevant to what I want to achieve? ` @override public boolean onKeyLongPress(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { if (keyCode == KeyEvent.KEYCODE_BACK) { // do your stuff here return true; } return super.onKeyLongPress(keyCode, event); } ` any advice is appreciated.

  • Representation of a DateTime as the local to remote user

    - by TwoSecondsBefore
    Hello! I was confused in the problem of time zones. I am writing a web application that will contain some news with dates of publication, and I want the client to see the date of publication of the news in the form of corresponding local time. However, I do not know in which time zone the client is located. I have three questions. I have to ask just in case: does DateTimeOffset.UtcNow always returns the correct UTC date and time, regardless of whether the server is dependent on daylight savings time? For example, if the first time I get the value of this property for two minutes before daylight savings time (or before the transition from daylight saving time back) and the second time in 2 minutes after the transfer, whether the value of properties in all cases differ by only 4 minutes? Or here require any further logic? (Question #1) Please see the following example and tell me what you think. I posted the news on the site. I assume that DateTimeOffset.UtcNow takes into account the time zone of the server and the daylight savings time, and so I immediately get the correct UTC server time when pressing the button "Submit". I write this value to a MS SQL database in the field of type datetime2(0). Then the user opens a page with news and no matter how long after publication. This may occur even after many years. I did not ask him to enter his time zone. Instead, I get the offset of his current local time from UTC using the javascript function following way: function GetUserTimezoneOffset() { var offset = new Date().getTimezoneOffset(); return offset; } Next I make the calculation of the date and time of publication, which will show the user: public static DateTime Get_Publication_Date_In_User_Local_DateTime( DateTime Publication_Utc_Date_Time_From_DataBase, int User_Time_Zone_Offset_Returned_by_Javascript) { int userTimezoneOffset = User_Time_Zone_Offset_Returned_by_Javascript; // For // example Javascript returns a value equal to -300, which means the // current user's time differs from UTC to 300 minutes. Ie offset // is UTC +6. In this case, it may be the time zone UTC +5 which // currently operates summer time or UTC +6 which currently operates the // standard time. // Right? (Question #2) DateTimeOffset utcPublicationDateTime = new DateTimeOffset(Publication_Utc_Date_Time_From_DataBase, new TimeSpan(0)); // get an instance of type DateTimeOffset for the // date and time of publication for further calculations DateTimeOffset publication_DateTime_In_User_Local_DateTime = utcPublicationDateTime.ToOffset(new TimeSpan(0, - userTimezoneOffset, 0)); return publication_DateTime_In_User_Local_DateTime.DateTime;// return to user } Is the value obtained correct? Is this the right approach to solving this problem? (Question #3)

  • Objective C: App freezes when using a timer

    - by Chris
    It took me hours to figure out how to implement a timer into my program, but when it runs, the app doesn't load completely as it did before the timer. In my main.m: int main (int argc, const char * argv[]) { NSAutoreleasePool * pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; OutLauncher *theLauncher = [[OutLauncher alloc] init]; NSTimer *theTimer = [theLauncher getTimer]; [theTimer retain]; [[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] addTimer: theTimer forMode: NSDefaultRunLoopMode]; [[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] run]; [pool release]; return 0; } The file OutLauncher is being imported into that, which looks like this: - (void)doStuff { NSLog( @"Doing Stuff"); } - (NSTimer *)getTimer{ NSTimer *theTimer; theTimer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:1.0 target:self selector: @selector(doStuff) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; return [theTimer autorelease]; } The timer works, the console updates every second with the phrase "doing stuff" but the rest of the program just won't load. It will if I comment out the code I added to int main though

  • How do you optimize database performance when providing results for autocomplete/iterative search?

    - by Howiecamp
    Note: In this question I'm using the term "autocomplete" (or "iterative search") to refer to returning search-as-you-type results, e.g. like Google Search gives you. Also my question is not specific to web applications vs. fat client apps. How are SQL SELECT queries normally constructed to provide decent performance for this type of query, especially over arbitrarily large data sets? In the case where the search will only query based on the first n characters (easiest case) am I still issuing a new SELECT result FROM sometable WHERE entry LIKE... on each keypress. Even with various forms of caching this seems like it might result in poor performance. In cases where you want your search string to return results with prefix matches, substring matches, etc. it's an even more difficult problem. Looking at a case of searching a list of contacts, you might return results that match FirstName + LastName, LastName + FirstName, or any other substring.

  • Lock thread using somthing other than a object

For example is this legal static DateTime NextCleanup = DateTime.Now; const TimeSpan CleanupInterval = new TimeSpan(1, 0, 0); private static void DoCleanup() { lock ((object)NextCleanup) { if (NextCleanup < DateTime.Now) { NextCleanup = DateTime.Now.Add(CleanupInterval); System.Threading.ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(new System.Threading.WaitCallback(cleanupThread)); } } return; } EDIT-- From reading SLaks' responce I know the above code would be not valid but would this be? static MyClass myClass = new MyClass(); private static void DoCleanup() { lock (myClass) { // } return; }

  • What's the RegEx to make sure that delimiters are escaped?

    - by Kuyenda
    I'm looking for a regular expression that will check whether or not delimiters in a string are escaped with a backward slash. The delimiters I am concerned about are comma (\,), colon (\:), semicolon (\;) and of course the backward slash itself has to be escaped (\). For example, the string "test" should return a match because there are no delimiters in it, and no escaping is necessary. The string "te\;st" would return a match because the semicolon delimiter is escaped. "te;st" and "t\;s:t" would both fail because the both contain at least one delimiter that is not escaped. I know that I need a conditional and a positive look behind, and this is what I have so far, but it is not giving me the expected answer. ^(?<delimiter>[:;,\\])?(?(delimiter)\(?<=(?:\\\\)*\\)k<delimiter>|.)$ Any suggestions on how I can make this work? Thanks.
