  • Multi-site WCF Service

    - by vault
I have implemented a WCF service that will be used at Site A with 5 computers in the LAN accessing the service. What I would like to do is have an elevated user/administrator be able to use one of the 5 machines and query an identical service at Site B (also with 5 computers) that they will need to connect to by bypassing the LAN firewall.Accessing data from Site A to Site B (and vica-versa) need only be read-only Is there a standardised way to acheive this using WCF?

  • SSH into Ubuntu Linux on a box without a static IP address

    - by Steven Xu
Basically, how do I do it? I'd like to connect to my home computer from work, but my internet is routed through my apartment building's network, so I don't have the static IP address I'm accustomed to having. How do I go about accessing my home computer through SSH (I'll be using Putty at work if it matters) if my home computer doesn't have a static IP address?

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 - user defined database connection.

    - by J Harley
Hello, I am looking to port my very basic DBMS software from classic ASP to ASP.net - however the user would need to input the connection details in order to connect to their specific DBMS server. Is this at all possible with ASP.NET MVC (very similar to DSN-less connections in ASP). Cheers, Joel

  • Why my application ask for a codec to pla the MVI(.MOV) video files while i can play them on WMP and QuickTime?

    - by Daniel Lip
I have an application i did some time ago when im loading the video file its ok when trying to play/use the file im getting the messageBox message say that its need a codec to use gspot or search the internet. Wehn im playing this files on my hard disk with Windows Media Play or either QuickTime there is no problems. The Video files for example name are: MVI_2483 in the file name properties i see its type: Quick Time Movie (.MOV) In my application im using DirectShowLib-2005.dll this is the class im using in my case to extract the video file im using it in my application to extract only lightnings from the video file name. In Form1 i have a button click event that just starting the action: private void button8_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { viewToolStripMenuItem.Enabled = false; fileToolStripMenuItem.Enabled = false; button2.Enabled = false; label14.Visible = false; label15.Visible = false; label21.Visible = false; label22.Visible = false; label24.Visible = false; label25.Visible = false; ExtractAutomatic = true; DirectoryInfo info = new DirectoryInfo(_videoFile); string dirName = info.Name; automaticModeDirectory = dirName + "_Automatic"; subDirectoryName = _outputDir + "\\" + automaticModeDirectory; if (secondPass == true) { Start(true); } Start(false); } This is the function start in Form1: private void Start(bool secondpass) { setpicture(-1); if (Directory.Exists(_outputDir) && secondpass == false) { } else { Directory.CreateDirectory(_outputDir); } if (ExtractAutomatic == true) { string subDirectory_Automatic_Name = _outputDir + "\\" + automaticModeDirectory; Directory.CreateDirectory(subDirectory_Automatic_Name); f = new WmvAdapter(_videoFile, Path.Combine(subDirectory_Automatic_Name)); } else { string subDirectory_Manual_Name; if (Directory.Exists(subDirectoryName)) { subDirectory_Manual_Name = subDirectoryName; f = new WmvAdapter(_videoFile, Path.Combine(subDirectory_Manual_Name)); } else { subDirectory_Manual_Name = _outputDir + "\\" + averagesListTextFileDirectory + "_Manual"; Directory.CreateDirectory(subDirectory_Manual_Name); f = new WmvAdapter(_videoFile, Path.Combine(subDirectory_Manual_Name)); } } button1.Enabled = false; f.Secondpass = secondpass; f.FramesToSave = _fts; f.FrameCountAvailable += new WmvAdapter.FrameCountEventHandler(f_FrameCountAvailable); f.StatusChanged += new WmvAdapter.EventHandler(f_StatusChanged); f.ProgressChanged += new WmvAdapter.ProgressEventHandler(f_ProgressChanged); this.Text = "Processing Please Wait..."; label5.ForeColor = Color.Green; label5.Text = "Processing Please Wait"; button8.Enabled = false; button5.Enabled = false; label5.Visible = true; pictureBox1.Image = Lightnings_Extractor.Properties.Resources.Weather_Michmoret; Hrs = 0; //number of hours Min = 0; //number of Minutes Sec = 0; //number of Sec timeElapsed = 0; label10.Text = "00:00:00"; label11.Visible = false; label12.Visible = false; label9.Visible = false; label8.Visible = false; this.button1.Enabled = false; myTrackPanelss1.trackBar1.Enabled = false; this.checkBox2.Enabled = false; this.checkBox1.Enabled = false; numericUpDown1.Enabled = false; timer1.Start(); label2.Text = ""; label1.Visible = true; label2.Visible = true; label3.Visible = true; label4.Visible = true; f.Start(); } And this is the class wich is not my oqn class i just just defined it in some places wich making the problem: using System; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Drawing; using System.Drawing.Imaging; using System.IO; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; using DirectShowLib; using System.Collections.Generic; using Extracting_Frames; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace Polkan.DataSource { internal class WmvAdapter : ISampleGrabberCB, IDisposable { #region Fields_Properties_and_Events bool dis = false; int count = 0; const string fileName = @"d:\histogramValues.dat"; private IFilterGraph2 _filterGraph; private IMediaControl _mediaCtrl; private IMediaEvent _mediaEvent; private int _width; private int _height; private readonly string _outFolder; private int _frameId; //better use a custom EventHandler that passes the results of the action to the subscriber. public delegate void EventHandler(object sender, EventArgs e); public event EventHandler StatusChanged; public delegate void FrameCountEventHandler(object sender, FrameCountEventArgs e); public event FrameCountEventHandler FrameCountAvailable; public delegate void ProgressEventHandler(object sender, ProgressEventArgs e); public event ProgressEventHandler ProgressChanged; private IMediaSeeking _mSeek; private long _duration = 0; private long _avgFrameTime = 0; //just save the averages to a List (not to fs) public List<double> AveragesList { get; set; } public List<long> histogramValuesList; public bool Secondpass { get; set; } public List<int> FramesToSave { get; set; } #endregion #region Constructors and Destructors public WmvAdapter(string file, string outFolder) { _outFolder = outFolder; try { SetupGraph(file); } catch { Dispose(); MessageBox.Show("A codec is required to load this video file. • Open source, programmable online video player available?

    - by JB
I got this great idea that I'm thinking about implementing, but before I go into the deep end I wanted to get a clue about what options I have. I'm looking for an open source, programmable video player. Must: Play video files from a user's computer not a server Connect to a server to retrieve/send info (not limited to file xfer) Prefer: Web-based player Easily programmable (because i'm no pro at programming <; Any names of open-source programs or players that you guys think I could use? Any help is really appreciated

  • Rails Pretty URL with Decimals

    - by Kevin Sylvestre
I have a rails application that allows searches using longitude and latitude. I have added a 'pretty' route with: map.connect 'stores/near/:longitude/:latitude', :controller => 'stores', :action => 'index' This works for integer latitude and longitude values (http://localhost:3000/stores/near/-88/49) but fails for decimal values (http://localhost:3000/stores/near/-88.341/49.123) giving: Routing Error No route matches "/stores/near/-88/49.0" with {:method=>:get} Any ideas how to use pretty URLs in rails with decimals?

  • Removing Database References from an ASP.NET MVC Site

    - by Maxim Z.
I'm building a very simple ASP.NET MVC site that doesn't require a database and doesn't have user accounts or any other special ASP.NET stuff. When I first created the site with the ASP.NET MVC 1.0 site template in Visual Studio, the web.config page was configured to automatically connect to SQL Server Express as a User Instance. Can I completely remove this dependency? If so, how do I get rid of all this database stuff?

  • [Java] Send cookie with http request problem

    - by nkr1pt
I'm trying to get a certain cookie in a java client by creating a series of Http requests. It looks like I'm getting a valid cookie from the server but when I'm sending out a request to the fnal url with the seemingly valid cookie I should get some lines of xml in the response but the response is blank because the cookie isw rong or is invalidated because a session has closed or an other problem which I can't figure out. The cookie handed out by the server expires at the end of the session. It seems to me the cookie is valid because when I do the same calls in firefox, a similar cookie with the same name and starting with the 3 first same letters and of the same length is stored in firefox, also expiring at the end of the session. If I then make a request to the final url with only this particular cookie stored in firefox (removed all other cookies), the xml is nicely rendered on the page. Any ideas about what I am doing wrong in this piece of code? One other thing, when I use the value from the very similar cookie generated and strored in firefox in this piece of code, the last request does give xml feedback in the http response! // Validate url = new URL(URL_VALIDATE); conn = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection(); conn.setRequestProperty("Cookie", cookie); conn.connect(); String headerName = null; for (int i = 1; (headerName = conn.getHeaderFieldKey(i)) != null; i++) { if (headerName.equals("Set-Cookie")) { if (conn.getHeaderField(i).startsWith("JSESSIONID")) { cookie = conn.getHeaderField(i).substring(0, conn.getHeaderField(i).indexOf(";")).trim(); } } } // Get the XML url = new URL(URL_XML_TOTALS); conn = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection(); conn.setRequestProperty("Cookie", cookie); conn.connect(); // Get the response StringBuffer answer = new StringBuffer(); BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(conn.getInputStream())); String line; while ((line = reader.readLine()) != null) { answer.append(line); } reader.close(); //Output the response System.out.println(answer.toString())

  • PHP edit unique row in table

    - by Robert
I currently have a PHP form that uses AJAX to connect to MySQL and display records matching a user's selection (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2593317/ajax-display-mysql-data-with-value-from-multiple-select-boxes) As well as displaying the data, I also place an 'Edit' button next to each result which displays a form where the data can be edited. My problem is editing unique records since currently I only use the selected values for 'name' and 'age' to find the record. If two (or more) records share the same name and age, I am only able to edit the first result.

  • Does Scheme work with Microsoft COM?

    - by Martin
I'm new to Scheme -- the functional programming language and I like it a lot for its first-class/higher-order functions. However, my data comes from a COM source with an object-oriented API. I know Scheme and COM belong to different programming paradigms, but I'm wondering if there is any interface or a way for Scheme to connect to a COM source? Thanks.

  • SQL error - Cannot convert nvarchar to decimal

    - by jakesankey
    I have a C# application that simply parses all of the txt documents within a given network directory and imports the data to a SQL server db. Everything was cruising along just fine until about the 1800th file when it happend to have a few blanks in columns that are called out as DBType.Decimal (and the value is usually zero in the files, not blank). So I got this error, "cannot convert nvarchar to decimal". I am wondering how I could tell the app to simply skip the lines that have this issue?? Perhaps I could even just change the column type to varchar even tho values are numbers (what problems could this create?) Thanks for any help! using System; using System.Data; using System.Data.SQLite; using System.IO; using System.Text.RegularExpressions; using System.Threading; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Data.SqlClient; namespace JohnDeereCMMDataParser { internal class Program { public static List<string> GetImportedFileList() { List<string> ImportedFiles = new List<string>(); using (SqlConnection connect = new SqlConnection(@"Server=FRXSQLDEV;Database=RX_CMMData;Integrated Security=YES")) { connect.Open(); using (SqlCommand fmd = connect.CreateCommand()) { fmd.CommandText = @"SELECT FileName FROM CMMData;"; fmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; SqlDataReader r = fmd.ExecuteReader(); while (r.Read()) { ImportedFiles.Add(Convert.ToString(r["FileName"])); } } } return ImportedFiles; } private static void Main(string[] args) { Console.Title = "John Deere CMM Data Parser"; Console.WriteLine("Preparing CMM Data Parser... done"); Console.WriteLine("Scanning for new CMM data..."); Console.ForegroundColor = ConsoleColor.Gray; using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(@"Server=FRXSQLDEV;Database=RX_CMMData;Integrated Security=YES")) { con.Open(); using (SqlCommand insertCommand = con.CreateCommand()) { Console.WriteLine("Connecting to SQL server..."); SqlCommand cmdd = con.CreateCommand(); string[] files = Directory.GetFiles(@"C:\Documents and Settings\js91162\Desktop\CMM WENZEL\", "*_*_*.txt", SearchOption.AllDirectories); List<string> ImportedFiles = GetImportedFileList(); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@FeatType", DbType.String)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@FeatName", DbType.String)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@Axis", DbType.String)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@Actual", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@Nominal", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@Dev", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@TolMin", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@TolPlus", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@OutOfTol", DbType.Decimal)); foreach (string file in files.Except(ImportedFiles)) { var FileNameExt1 = Path.GetFileName(file); cmdd.Parameters.Clear(); cmdd.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@FileExt", FileNameExt1)); cmdd.CommandText = @" IF (EXISTS (SELECT * FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = 'RX_CMMData' AND TABLE_NAME = 'CMMData')) BEGIN SELECT COUNT(*) FROM CMMData WHERE FileName = @FileExt; END"; int count = Convert.ToInt32(cmdd.ExecuteScalar()); con.Close(); con.Open(); if (count == 0) { Console.WriteLine("Preparing to parse CMM data for SQL import..."); if (file.Count(c => c == '_') > 5) continue; insertCommand.CommandText = @" INSERT INTO CMMData (FeatType, FeatName, Axis, Actual, Nominal, Dev, TolMin, TolPlus, OutOfTol, PartNumber, CMMNumber, Date, FileName) VALUES (@FeatType, @FeatName, @Axis, @Actual, @Nominal, @Dev, @TolMin, @TolPlus, @OutOfTol, @PartNumber, @CMMNumber, @Date, @FileName);"; string FileNameExt = Path.GetFullPath(file); string RNumber = Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(file); int index2 = RNumber.IndexOf("~"); Match RNumberE = Regex.Match(RNumber, @"^(R|L)\d{6}(COMP|CRIT|TEST|SU[1-9])(?=_)", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); Match RNumberD = Regex.Match(RNumber, @"(?<=_)\d{3}[A-Z]\d{4}|\d{3}[A-Z]\d\w\w\d(?=_)", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); Match RNumberDate = Regex.Match(RNumber, @"(?<=_)\d{8}(?=_)", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); string RNumE = Convert.ToString(RNumberE); string RNumD = Convert.ToString(RNumberD); if (RNumberD.Value == @"") continue; if (RNumberE.Value == @"") continue; if (RNumberDate.Value == @"") continue; if (index2 != -1) continue; DateTime dateTime = DateTime.ParseExact(RNumberDate.Value, "yyyyMMdd", Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture); string cmmDate = dateTime.ToString("dd-MMM-yyyy"); string[] lines = File.ReadAllLines(file); bool parse = false; foreach (string tmpLine in lines) { string line = tmpLine.Trim(); if (!parse && line.StartsWith("Feat.   • Cocoa/MacRuby: How to write a toolbar which accepts custom items?

    - by Joseph Melettukunnel
I'm doing my first steps in MacRuby. Does anyone know how I can add a custom Toolbar to my Cocoa/MacRuby application, which will accept "regular" items for e.g. switching the view (see http://www.stevestreeting.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/SelectableToolbarDemo001.png). I've read some tutorials and I guess I have to create a custom delegate for the Toolbar and then connect it via the Outlets window, but how does the myCustomDelegate.rb have to look like? Thanks a lot! Cheers
