But the UIImageView must contain a special image, depending on the device's current orientation.   • I need to programmatically remove a batch of unique constraints that I don't know the names of.

    I maintain a product that is installed at multiple locations which as been haphazardly upgraded. Unique constraints were added to a number of tables, but I have no idea what the names are at any particular instance. What I do know is the table/columnname pair that has the unique constraints and I would like to write a script to delete any unique constraint on these column/table combinations. This is MSSQL 2000 and later. Something that works on 2000/2005/2008 would be best!

    I am new in Prolog. I need to declare a function which looks at a list like [[1, 0, 0], [1, 0, 0], [1, 0, 0]] and if the value is 0 returns its address(by considering it as a double array). I wrote a function basicly in the format: function(..., X) :- function(called by other values). How can I write a function, that returns a value when each times it called(recursively). Should I write all my code based on stuff returned from subroutines? Isn't eval'ing the code ( over and over ) gonna slow me down?

    Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to encode a video using ffmpeg in reverse? (So the resulting video plays in reverse?) I think I can by generating images for each frame (so a folder of images labelled 1.jpg, 2.jpg etc), then write a script to change the image names, and then re-encode the ivdeo from these files. Does anyone know of a quicker way? This is an FLV video. Thank you

I'm able to get characters without pressing ENTER just fine, but it blocks in the animating thread until the user presses a key. Does anyone know of a way to get a character from the keyboard non-blocking?

  • Better alternative for PipedReader/PipedWriter?

    I need to have a buffered char stream, into which I write in one thread and from which I read in another thread. Right now I'm using PipedReader and PipedWriter for it, but those classes cause a performance problem: PipedReader does a wait(1000) when its internal buffer is empty, which causes my application to lag visibly. Would there be some library which does the same thing as PipedReader/PipedWriter, but with better performance? Or will I have to implement my own wheels?

Wouldn't it be better to write them as: var myDocumentsDirectory = air.File.documentsDirectory; var myTestFile = myDocumentsDirectory.resolvePath("AIR Test/testFile.txt");

    I'm using a macro and I think it works fine - #define CStrNullLastNL(str) {char* nl=strrchr(str,'\n'); if(nl){*nl=0;}} So it works to zero out the last newline in a string, really its used to chop off the linebreak when it gets left on by fgets. So, I'm wondering if I can "return" a value from the macro, so it can be called like func( CStrNullLastNL( cstr ) ) ; Or will I have to write a function
