    I anticipate using some images in my Java application. These images will be drawn onto my JPanel using g.drawImage(). The JPanel is resizable and the images should scale as the JPanel increases/decreases in size Two questions: What image format is best for this type of desired scalable image? For instance, in this application, an image of size 100x100 may be scaled into an image of size 30x30 or 10x10 or 300x300. How can I write code to do this scaling?

  • Better alternative for PipedReader/PipedWriter?

    I need to have a buffered char stream, into which I write in one thread and from which I read in another thread. Right now I'm using PipedReader and PipedWriter for it, but those classes cause a performance problem: PipedReader does a wait(1000) when its internal buffer is empty, which causes my application to lag visibly. Would there be some library which does the same thing as PipedReader/PipedWriter, but with better performance? Or will I have to implement my own wheels?

When I try to click for second time an error displays: $.fn.colorbox is not a function. How can i correct that error and avoid a double click to bind colorbox. I thought I recalled a way to inject privileged members into a function/object (and found an overwhelming occurrence of "no such thing as private in JS") and yet I can't find any resources indicating how.     I am able to create, write and read an SQLite Database in my Android App. I have a copy of the Database that is fully populated with data, and I want to get that data into the App's Database. Is it possible to access my pouplaed database from inside my App? Or can I at least create a copy of the populated database and then use that copy? Or do I need to do a .dump and put all the inserts into the Android code?

  • I need to programmatically remove a batch of unique constraints that I don't know the names of.

    I maintain a product that is installed at multiple locations which as been haphazardly upgraded. Unique constraints were added to a number of tables, but I have no idea what the names are at any particular instance. What I do know is the table/columnname pair that has the unique constraints and I would like to write a script to delete any unique constraint on these column/table combinations. This is MSSQL 2000 and later. Something that works on 2000/2005/2008 would be best!
