  • How do I redirect within a ViewResult or ActionResult function?

    Say I have: public ViewResult List() {} inside this function, I check if there is only one item in the list, if there is I'd like to redirect straight to the controller that handles the list item, otherwise I want to display the List View. How do I do this? Simply adding a RedirectToAction doesn't work - the call is hit but VS just steps over it and tries to return the View at the bottom.

    Hi everybody, In VS 2010, changing true in a MVC2 project's .csproj file causes an error if you are using Entity Framework. Could not load type 'System.Data.Entity.Design.AspNet.EntityDesignerBuildProvider'. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config\web.config 129 I want to build views while I'm debugging, and I also want my project compile! Any ideas? Thanks.

It gets deployed from vs 2010 without any errors.Still when I try to add a sandboxed web part I get error message like " The sandboxed code execution request was refused because the Sandboxed Code Host Service was too busy to handle the request." I am using windows 7 proffessional OS and sharepoint 2010 rtm version. please help me to resolve this.

  • Strange crashes when using MPMoviePlayerController in iPad and iPad simulator with iOS 4.2.

    I'm getting crashes when trying to play a movie using MPMoviePlayerController on the iPad and in the iPad simulator using iOS 4.2. I am building using xcode 3.2.5 and the 4.2 SDK. When running on an iPad using iOS 3.2 or in the iPad simulator 3.2, the same code works fine, but on an iPad running 4.2 or in the iPad simulator 4.2, it crashes. The crash is due to an exception for calling an unknown selector down somewhere deep in the cocoa libraries, something tries to call a selector called "setHitRectInsets:" on a UIButton object. Also, the crash happens after control has returned to the main event loop. Anybody have any idea what might be causing this?     I know the bits just came out today, but one of the first things I want to do with the newly released Windows Mobile 7 SDK is put a map up on the screen and mess around. I've downloaded the latest version of the Silverlight Maps Control and added the references to my application. As a matter of fact, the VS 2010 design view of the MainPage.xaml shows the map control after adding the namespace and placing the control. I'm using the provided VS 2010 Express version that comes with the Win Mobile 7 SDK and have just used the New Project - Windows Phone Application template. When I try to build I get two warnings related to the Microsoft.Maps.MapControl dll's. Warning 1 The primary reference "Microsoft.Maps.MapControl, Version=1.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=498d0d22d7936b73, processorArchitecture=MSIL" could not be resolved because it has an indirect dependency on the framework assembly "System.Windows.Browser, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e" which could not be resolved in the currently targeted framework. "Silverlight,Version=v4.0,Profile=WindowsPhone".   • Windows Service Setup issue removing the windows service

    I'm doing a windows service setup project on VS2008, it has a custom action for setting app.config values. The setup work fine installing the service and setting the app.config values but when I try to uninstall the service, it removes the files but keep the service registered, so I can install it again using the setup, I need to use "sc delete " in the vs command prompt to proper remove the service... anyone have any idea which could be the issue here?     Hello! I found a source code on MSDN about how to enable/disable privileges in C++ According to the source code, the linker must include cmcfg32.lib, but it can't be found... I tried to compile without including that lib, it compiles without any error, but when I launch my program, it crashes with a fatal error. So please, if you know which SDK contains cmcfg32.lib, let me know ;) Thanks!

  • Why sometimes Windows cannot kill a process?

    Right now I'm trying to Run/Debung my app on VisualStudio, but it cannot create it because the las instance of the app.vshost.exe is still running. Then, by using the Task Manager i'm trying to kill it, but it just remains there with no signal of activity. Beyond that particular case (maybe a VS bug), i'm very curious about the technical reasons why sometimes Windows cannot kill a process??? Can, an enlighted OS related developer, please try to explain? (And please don't start a Unix/Linux/Mac battle against Windows)

    The Android SDK has some convenience methods for manipulating data with SQLite. However both the insert and replace methods use some nullColumnHack parameter which usage I don't understand. The documentation explains it with the following, but what if a table has multiple columns that allow NULL? I really don't get it :/ SQL doesn't allow inserting a completely empty row, so if initialValues is empty this column [/row for replace] will explicitly be assigned a NULL value

  • AjaxMin4 bug with Visual Studio 2010 RC?

    When I compile my solution I get 2 errors which I did not get with version of 1.1 of AjaxMin. The "SourceFiles" parameter is not supported by the "AjaxMin" task. Verify the parameter exists on the task, and it is a settable public instance property. The "AjaxMin" task could not be initialized with its input parameters. If I re-install AjaxMin4 then reload VS it works again until I reboot the PC. Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

    I'm using Visual Studio 2008 on my main build system. I've been playing with Visual Studio 2010 on another one. It appears that the tool still only wants to use one core when compiling unless you specify the /MP switch in the compiler switches (see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1422601/how-do-i-turn-on-multi-cpu-core-c-compiles-in-the-visual-studio-ide-2008). I have to do this for every project. Is there a way to make VS always do this?

  • msbuild TransformWebConfig task - doesn't work for App.configs?

    I have a windows service that will need to have the same kind of transformations that the web.configs would use, but VS 2010 doesn't seem to support that. I've tried manually adding the App.Release.Config files, and then using msbuil [PROJ] /T:TransformWebConfig /p:Configuration=Release but no transformation is performed. I got a TransformWebConfig folder createed in my obj subdirectory, but that's it. Is this thing hardcoded to only work with web.configs?
