• Is it better to create the db/tables programmatically or through a .db file in assets

  Hi, does Android have a "best practices" guideline on creating & populating the db/tables programmatically vs. deploying a .db file in assets? What are the pros/cons of both approaches? I have a db with big long strings in several columns, and about 50 rows, so writing the insert statements alone would take quite some space. It seems a waste. Thoughts? Thanks! llappall

• OpenAL tone generation on iPhone

  So I have been looking around for some time now on a way to produce a variable tone on the iPhone using OpenAL, the issue being the Apple has deprecated the ALUT part of OpenAL that has the alutCreateBufferWaveform that would be perfect for this. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to make a tone generator using OpenAL on the iPhone SDK. All I need is the ability to produce a certain frequency tone consistantly over and over again. This is a last resort so sorry if it sounds kind of stupid.

  My question is: since Visual Studio 2010 was only just released, why does it not render pages in the same way as the latest Microsoft web browser, IE8? Is there a bunch of render options I should be setting? I thought Expression Web was supposed to help with its fancy Super Preview but that app doesn't even open VS solutions.   Is it possible to store the credentials that I use to connect to my Team Foundation Server directly in Visual Studio 2010? I would like to avoid to insert them at every VS launch. The problem is that the machine that host TFS is not in the domain and I am conneting using the credentials of a user created on that machine.   I have a project in C# and I get this error every time I try to compile the project : (Unable to copy file "obj\Debug\Project1.exe" to "bin\Debug\Project1.exe". The process cannot access the file 'bin\Debug\Project1.exe' because it is being used by another process.), so I have to close the process from the task manager. my project is only one form and there is no multithreading. what is the solution (without restarting VS or Killing the process)?
